He recalled that Praris hadn't spent Christmas at school either.
“No,” Praris said calmly. “Would you be welcome at your house this time?”
Draco froze, his expression blank for a moment, like a video recording stuck in time.
His first thought was why Praris had gone to his house.
His second thought was that Praris wanted to go home with him.
The latter naturally added some boyish thoughts to Draco's mind, but the former was more important to him.
“But it’s Easter!” Draco said innocently. “Don’t you have a holiday?”
Praris gave a subtle smile: "You're talking about a vacation with...?"
Draco touched his nose with the back of his hand, somewhat embarrassed, and said, "Didn't I just say? It's Easter, a two-week holiday. I personally think you should be able to rest for a few days. The Dark Lord values you and will be more lenient with you, won't he?"
“Thank you for your kind words,” Praris said.
After getting off the train, you can immediately see the Malfoys standing on the platform waiting.
Draco glanced at Praris first, then quickly walked over to his mother. Narcissa reached out and grasped Draco's arm, and one could vaguely hear something like, "...you've lost weight."
"Alright, Cici," Lucius had to stop this potentially continuation of the mother-son affectionate scene, reminding her, "Don't waste time!"
After saying that, he whispered to Praris, “Prince, we have a temporary door key. It will be troublesome if we miss the time.”
That is indeed quite troublesome.
Lucius has lost his wand, and Draco… well, speaking of which, his wand isn't made of hawthorn wood either… Anyway, if they miss the Portkey, Praris and Draco will probably have to Apparate them.
The key was an empty luncheon meat can, which was completely out of the Malfoys’ taste but was discreet enough. I wonder where Lucius got it from. Maybe he asked Yaxley to get it for him?
A few minutes later, the door key expired, and after a powerful pull dragging their bellies, Praris and the three Malfoys landed outside the manor.
"What's going on!" Draco exclaimed in surprise.
Narcissa quickly tugged at Draco's sleeve and shook her head at him. Upon seeing this, Draco immediately shut his mouth.
“Guards,” Praris said calmly, brushing non-existent dust off his robes. “Looks much safer, doesn’t it?”
Understanding that Praris was trying to cover up his surprise, Draco quickly nodded.
Praris didn't think much of it; the manor gate was a bit of a distance from the house, and there were no Death Eaters passing by. But since Narcissa was being so cautious, she wasn't hesitant to cooperate.
Narcissa smoothed her temples, which had been messed up by the door key, and looked at Praris with a hint of approval in her eyes.
Upon entering the house, Praris politely bid farewell to the family of three, indicating that he had to go about his work.
After Prareas left, Draco continued to watch her retreating figure, lost in thought.
"Draco!" Narcissa called softly to her lingering son, "Come upstairs."
Draco glanced at Praris one last time before turning and quickly following his mother.
"Control yourself," Lucius admonished Draco. "What kind of talk is this, looking like you've lost your mind!"
Narcissa said, "Aren't you the same?"
"What?" Lucius looked at his wife, puzzled.
Narcissa said, "Don't talk about Draco—you were like that when you were eighteen, looking at me too much."
“Where did I do that?” Lucius couldn’t help but protest.
Narcissa said, "Bella is still here."
Upon hearing this, Lucius fell completely silent.
He remembered something old Crouch had once warned him: "Never let your wife be around when you're disciplining the children, or you won't be able to get anything done."
Lucius completely ignored this advice, because Crouch Sr. and his son Crouch Jr. didn't get along well, and Crouch Jr. didn't listen to his father at all. Now it seems that this was the reason why Crouch Jr. was disobedient.
Fortunately, his Draco was obedient.
Chapter 288 Draco's Room
During the Easter holidays, Praris stayed at Malfoy Manor without ever leaving the house, working like a diligent ox or horse.
Voldemort assigned Bellatrix and Mrs. Burstdle to "supervise" Prasris under the guise of "assistance." However, these two were never good at chores, so tasks like delivering meals were left to Peter Pettigrew.
“Little Pettigrew, how cruel—” Praris said casually, “You can see it, but you can’t have it. Hmm?”
Peter Pettigrew hurriedly put down his plate and ran out as if someone was chasing him.
Praris gave a meaningful laugh.
The next second, she heard Mrs. Burstd's sarcastic remarks about Pettigrew.
Praris opened the door and said softly, "Mrs. Burst, I thought... you were sent by the master to respond to my needs at any time! I never expected you to be here just to put on a show at my doorstep."
"Hmm, what's this all about?" Praris said slowly. "I know, it's 'Declan and the Terrified Muggle,' isn't it? Should I applaud your wonderful performance?"
Mrs. Burst stood there with a dark expression, while Little Star looked somewhat helpless. It was Prarese who had made things difficult for him at Dolly's hands, and now it was Prarese who opened the door to defend him... Perhaps Prarese had no intention of defending him at all, but simply found their noise disturbing her work.
Little Pettigrew, unaware of what was happening, simply slipped away.
Even prisoners get time to go outside, let alone Prarese, who didn't consider herself to be in jail... though sometimes it felt like jail. She casually said to Mrs. Burstdle, "I'll take a stroll around the estate."
“No!” Mrs. Burst shouted in a shrill voice.
Prarese looked Mrs. Burstdle up and down, his smile fading, and said calmly, "This is just an announcement."
After saying that, she walked straight to the side, completely disregarding Mrs. Burst's opinion.
She had forgotten the pain of her previous burns; the previous burns hadn't left any lasting trauma on Mrs. Burstdle, and she even dared to stop Praris.
Mrs. Burst drew her wand and glared at her fiercely: "Prince! Your master ordered you to complete his task here, and you dare to disobey his orders!"
The instant Mrs. Burst pointed her wand at Praris, Praris's wand slid into her palm.
Tempest!
A strong wind suddenly rose from the ground and began to blow.
Mrs. Burstdle's wand flew out, and she involuntarily closed her eyes, turned her head, and crossed her arms in front of her head. In the strong wind, she completely lost control of her body, her feet leaving the ground, and was blown to the end of the corridor, where she was slammed against the wall with her limbs spread out like a lump of mud.
With a flick of her wand, Mrs. Burst's wand landed in Prarese's hand. Holding the extra wand, she slowly walked towards Mrs. Burst.
I really don't know who gave Mrs. Burstderd the courage to be so presumptuous.
Prarese was deliberately trying to provoke Mrs. Burst. She had a good memory; she hadn't forgotten why Millison was forced to go abroad, nor why she almost lost Millison as a friend in her second year.
Dolly Burst was no good mother, and Prarese had long wanted to teach her a lesson on behalf of Millison. Ever since she learned that Mrs. Burst was among those burned at the Death Eaters' camp, she felt that her efforts had not been in vain.
Before she even reached Mrs. Burstdle, several Death Eaters had already appeared in the corridor—and Death Eaters aren't deaf, they wouldn't miss such a commotion.
Some Death Eaters who didn't recognize Praris had already raised their wands, rubbing their hands together, ready to surround the unknown wizard. Only Lucius, standing in the crowd, couldn't help but take a deep breath, unable to believe what he was seeing.
“Yaxley!” Lucius whispered, his arm nudged several times by his son. “This is Praris Prince, Snape’s student, our newest member.”
Axley, full name Corban Axley, is the current de facto head of the Ministry of Magic and Voldemort's agent within the Ministry. He is a male wizard who looks extremely fierce and has a gloomy face, and is about the same height as Professor Snape.
“Ah, Prince.” Yaxley stepped forward, his gaze sweeping between the two men. “What’s going on here?”
Praris turned around slowly and calmly, showing no sign that she was being pointed at by so many wands.
“Director Axley, I’ve heard of you, I’ve long admired your name.” Praris raised an eyebrow slightly and said calmly, “As you can see, she overstepped her bounds and received some due punishment, that’s all. On the contrary… I think the Death Eaters’ wands should be aimed at the Order of the Phoenix.”
Under her dangerous gaze, the group exchanged glances, and one by one, they lowered their wands. Since they were all on their side, and Snape's students, it wasn't appropriate to point their wands at them like that.
Mrs. Burst, clutching the back of her head, managed to stand up and, pointing at Praris like a madwoman, shouted, "Arrest Prince right now! She attacked me and stole my wand!"
“A sneak attack?” Praris sneered sarcastically. “Mrs. Burst, there’s no need for a sneak attack against you. Since you’ve pointed your wand at me, be prepared to lose it.”
The Death Eaters who had just pointed their wands at Praris looked at each other blankly.
Mrs. Burst gasped, "That's because—that's because—"
"That's because you're meddling!" Praris began to show impatience. "The Dark Lord told you to cooperate with me, not to get in my way."
"Did the master say that I had to stay there 24 hours a day for Easter and was not allowed to go out? No. Don't make a big deal out of nothing and use the Dark Lord as an excuse."
After leaving Mrs. Burstde speechless, Praris turned around, glanced at the Death Eaters present, and his eyes seemed to say: Is there anything else?
Seeing that there was no more entertainment to be had, everyone dispersed.
Prareus casually tossed his wand to Mrs. Burst, not caring whether she caught it or not, and walked straight toward Lucius... Draco, who was standing next to him.
Draco asked, "Praris, are you alright?"
“Hmm?” Praris chuckled. “You should be more worried about Mrs. Burst than about my injury.”
“Why would I worry about her?” Draco blurted out without hesitation, then looked as if he had just remembered something. “But she… is Millison Burst’s mother.”
As Praris walked forward, he said casually, "That's right, it was Milison's mother who was hit."
Draco looked surprised.
He couldn't understand it, and was greatly shocked.
The whispers of the young boy and girl made Lucius feel a bit superfluous, so he decided to change course and go find Narcissa.
Draco remained the same before and after Lucius left. He never seemed shy when his father was around. From a young age, Draco had always been the kind of son who shared everything with his father. In their family, it was his father who told him stories about the Tooth Fairy, and they even threw their baby teeth into the fire together!
"Where are you going?" Draco asked without thinking, pointing upstairs. "My bedroom is over there."
"Can I take that as an invitation?" Praris asked.
Wait, is he inviting his girlfriend to his bedroom? Draco's first reaction was to swallow his words, and his second was to recall how messy his room was.
“If you’d like to visit other places—” Draco said, stroking his chin, “I’d be happy to be your guide. I’m sure you’ve never seen a house as big as mine. Without a guide…”
Before Draco could finish speaking, Praris laughed and said, "If we go to your bedroom, you won't want to be the tour guide?"
Theodore and Zabini neither dated, and Crabbe and Goyle were unwanted by anyone, to the point that Draco couldn't even make a comparison. He wondered to himself, were all witches this straightforward when it came to love?
“If I say 'no'…” Draco asked.
Praris said with a smile, "Try saying one."
Draco thought to himself, "I knew it."
Draco's bedroom is the first door on the right after you go up the stairs. It's a beautiful room with a ceiling covered in large scrollwork patterns arranged into an artistic dome. The cornice is decorated with a band of gold patterns, the walls are covered with green wallpaper, and the floor is covered with a dark floral carpet.
In the center of the bedroom is a large bed draped with a dark green canopy with gold patterns. Beside the bed is a chair in the same color, and at the foot of the bed is a stool in the same color. Not far from the bed is a fireplace, next to which are a walnut bookshelf and a rocking chair. Further on are the window and the balcony.
