“How did Porter do it?” Pansy blinked quickly. “Even you think there’s no way to make it work.”
Praris shook his head with a chuckle: "I'm not omnipotent."
After a pause, Prarese said, "I think it's highly unlikely that Porter did this."
Daphne was completely unconvinced and scoffed, "You mean, someone went to great lengths not to become a warrior themselves, but to make Potter a warrior?"
“Why not?” Praris rested his head on one hand, smiling as he looked at her. “For Potter, is becoming a warrior a good thing?”
“Isn’t that right?” Milison slumped over the table.
Praris shook his head: "He is three years older than the other warriors, and has two to three years less of knowledge and experience. People have died in the Triwizard Tournament, and even the safety of the referees is not guaranteed."
“That might just be because he’s too eager to show off,” Daphne said dismissively. “Isn’t he always like this? Except for last year, when has he not made a big splash? Now he can have his fun.”
"Is anyone that eager to be in the spotlight?" Milison asked curiously.
Daphne said meaningfully, "Of course there is."
She silently uttered a single word, and the girls all burst into laughter.
Everyone understood; she was referring to "Lockhart".
Millison nudged Praris: "Why do you think it wasn't Potter who did it?"
"Judging from his expression, unless he's a natural actor, he must have been more surprised than we were," Prarese said.
Pansy nodded and said, "I can't believe it. It seems he really couldn't have done it. After all, no one can fool your eyes. That's great!"
“Good? Good for what?” Daphne asked incredulously.
Pansy chuckled maliciously, "Since Potter didn't do it on his own initiative, we can just watch the show. What good is this opportunity? He might not be able to handle it, and Hufflepuff's temper is still raging! Potter's going to get a taste of what it's like to have no way to explain himself!"
Several Slytherins, including Prareas, turned to look at Gryffindor and Hufflepuff with expressions of amusement.
Fight! The more exciting the fight, the better!
We love watching!
After a long wait, Professor McGonagall finally emerged. Her face was pale, and her eyes were filled with worry.
"Quiet! Quiet!" Professor McGonagall said. "Now, everyone go back to your dormitories—"
Praris walked out with the flow of people.
Hufflepuff and Slytherin both have to go downstairs to get back to their dormitories.
On her way back, she overheard a girl in a yellow collar saying indignantly, "They haven't even said how to handle this yet! This is unfair to Cedric!"
“It’s not fair to the other warriors either,” a boy with a yellow collar added.
"Prince—"
Praliss snapped out of her reverie, somewhat embarrassed, and realized that the person she was talking to was Miles Blaitch, the Slytherin goalkeeper.
Miles is a big guy, and Millison says he's a great goalkeeper.
"What's wrong?" Praris asked him curiously.
Miles smiled broadly: "I have something to ask you."
Praris recalled some misunderstandings from other houses, who often thought Slytherins should be sinister, like the hook-nosed old wizards who hide in basements brewing poison in the eyes of Muggles.
—Wait a minute, why does this sound familiar?
—Stop, it would be impolite to think about it any further!
But there are also some cheerful types in Slytherin, such as Marcus (he is really cheerful most of the time, at least in front of Praris, like a not-so-bright big dumb dog), and Miles.
Praris raised an eyebrow, turned to Milison and the other two, and said, "You guys go back first."
Prarese followed Miles to an empty classroom.
Miles sat at a desk and cut to the chase with a rather bizarre question: "Prince, have you and Marcus broken up?"
"Huh?" Praris was full of questions.
Miles explained, "Marcus was signed by the Jamaican Quidditch national team as a substitute; he's going to work in North America."
"Oh, congratulations to him, he's achieved his dream. But we've never been in a relationship."
Prareas was genuinely happy for Marcus, who had always wanted to make Quidditch his life's work.
Miles was taken aback, then laughed even harder: "That's great, would you like to give me a try?"
"what?"
Praris felt he had generated too many questions today.
Miles bluntly stated, "That's it. Would you like to try dating me?"
Praris quickly pressed his hand down: "Wait, wait, don't you like Miss Stella's type?"
"You even know that?" Miles asked in surprise. "Are you really that interested in me?"
Praris said, annoyed, "No, no, no, that's what other people say, it doesn't matter. Why would you like me?"
Miles laughed: "That's normal. Do you think you're not worthy of my affection?"
“I mean, we don’t really have anything in common.” Praris was confused.
Miles nodded. "That's true, but I didn't just say I liked you without knowing anything. When I was in third grade, you had just started school, and that was the first time I heard about you. Everyone thought you were dating Marcus..."
"Let's skip this!" Praris closed her eyes in despair.
“Hahaha, as you wish, Miss.” Miles’s laughter grew even more hearty. “In our second year, we lost to Gryffindor again, and everyone was very disappointed. Perhaps you didn’t notice, but I was also in the tent at that time, stopping Marcus from beating up Draco.”
“Uh, can I say I remember?” Prarese said.
“Of course, that would be even better.” Miles held up two fingers. “You insulted Draco twice that year. At first, I thought you were very imposing—okay, okay, don’t look at me like that. At first, I thought you were fierce, hahaha. But later I thought you were very imposing.”
Prarese said, "That's because Draco is as pathetic as a dog."
Miles said, "Well, yes, everyone's having a hard time. Miss, this is my confession. Can we talk less about other men?"
Praris did not refute him.
But she thought to herself, "You were the one who brought it up first, weren't you?"
They even mentioned two at once.
“I heard you were involved in our victory last year. I was watching from the stairs when you were dealing with Moody in the foyer,” Miles said. “I admire you, Praris. Some people think you’re too good, some people are afraid of your poison, but I don’t think so.”
Miles suddenly fell silent, and Praris didn't urge him, waiting for him to finish what he wanted to say.
Miles added, "Well, actually I can't really say for sure. These are just the moments that left a deep impression on me. I can't pinpoint exactly when or where I saw your outstanding demeanor or heard your unique way of speaking, which made my heart flutter."
Miles took a deep breath: "In short, you are dazzling. You were born to shine. People who are afraid of you are afraid of having their flaws exposed by your brilliance."
"If you like someone, you should confess. I don't want to wait until my passion fades and you've already found someone else. I don't want to regret not expressing my feelings then. I'm willing to be a star next to the moon. Would you give me a chance to stay by your side?"
Praris frowned and opened his mouth as if to say something.
Miles suddenly reached out to stop her, feigning heartache: "I understand. Please, don't tell me the answer, at least leave me with something to think about."
Praris laughed: "Blake, confession is not the beginning, but the clarion call to charge towards victory."
“Oh!” Miles clutched his chest. “Plareze, do you know how cool you look right now? Okay, okay, it’s my fault, I was too impulsive. So, can I be your friend for now?”
"Temporarily?" Praris asked.
Miles said, "Miss, you have to give me a chance to upgrade, right?"
Praris had already rejected him once; she couldn't possibly reject him a second time.
She could only nod: "It's an honor to meet you, Miles."
"It's an honor to be your friend, Praris."
The entrance to the Slytherin common room.
This is the downside of confessing your feelings to someone from the same college: whether it works out or not, you both have to walk the same route back to the common room before curfew.
He was rejected, but Miles didn't seem upset at all.
He waved to her from the lobby entrance: "Praris, sweet dreams."
Prarese said, "That's what I wanted to say to you too."
"call--"
Praris lay exhausted on the bed.
So much happened that day.
She never expected that Miles was contacting her to confess his feelings.
She thought Miles had run into some trouble and needed her help.
How exactly did Miles fall for her?
He said he was impressed by Praris.
Praris certainly knows she is very capable; this is something that is obvious to all and reflects her accurate assessment of her own abilities.
But whether someone is strong or not has nothing to do with whether you like them or not. Even if someone is ordinary, there may be someone who loves the flowers that bloom in the ordinary.
She was puzzled because even Miles himself couldn't explain why he liked her.
She used to not understand what Pansy liked. Later, she thought that Pansy might just like blond hair and gray eyes. But even though Jacob had these qualities, Pansy still ended the relationship.
Prareas had actually lied to him. Her memory was excellent; she didn't need Miles to remind her what had happened.
When she was mocking Draco, Miles, who was sitting at the same table not far away, whispered that she was "terrible." At the time, Marcus tried to defend her, racking his brains to come up with the sentence: "She's mostly very nice and gentle."
At the time, Prarese made no reaction. She preferred to be a formidable woman than to be seen as weak and vulnerable.
Feelings are truly illogical things; Miles, who had once expressed fear of her, actually took the initiative to confess his feelings to her.
“Play, what does Blake want with you?” Millison sat on Praris’s bed, holding a large, fluffy owl plush toy.
That doll was a Christmas gift that Prares gave to Milison last year.
Praris blinked. "It's nothing, he just asked a few questions."
"Hey, is it just a question? Why all the secrecy?" Milison buried his face in the doll and muttered.
Praris said, "Did you know what? Jamaica signed Marcus, and he's going to be a substitute for the national team!"
