“He didn’t want this to happen either,” Hermione explained. “Harry was going to solve the clues in the second level, but he ran into Snape. Luckily, Moody came to his rescue.”
Praris tapped the table as he said, “No. The professor’s office is guarded. If Crouch had entered his room, he couldn’t have caught a student wandering around outside without noticing anything.”
Hermione said, "Oh, right, right, Harry said that Snape found someone looking for something in the office, so he came out to search for the intruder. We all know it was Crouch who did it, but he thought the intruder was Harry, so he kept looking for Harry. In the end, Moody showed up, and Harry wasn't caught."
“It is quite suspicious, after all, this isn’t the first time you’ve done this.” Praris recalled the compound decoction.
Hermione smiled sheepishly. After getting to know Prareas better, Hermione realized how lame her excuse of "failed experiment" had been.
“Hiss—” Praris was momentarily confused. “Something’s missing, I think. But I can assure you, there’s nothing in the office that shouldn’t be there. You know, I’m always being drafted, so it’s as familiar to me as my dorm room.”
Prarese added, "However, you don't need to tell Porter these things."
Hermione scratched her fluffy hair in annoyance.
Praris forced a smile: "Hermione, there's no end to the problems. Let's talk about something lighter. Like, you looked absolutely gorgeous on Christmas Day."
“Oh—really? It took me three hours!” Hermione said cheerfully.
“I don’t think anyone was more dazzling than you back then.” Prares’s sweet talk was as free as it came: “Don’t listen to Weasley. We all have our own principles and the ability to distinguish right from wrong. You won’t stop treating me as a friend just because I’m a Slytherin, and you won’t reject Krum just because he’s Durmstrang’s student.”
“Of course,” Hermione said firmly.
Praris pondered for a moment: "I'll go to the office when I have a chance to see if anything is missing. That way, we should be able to figure out Crouch's purpose—Porter's second test should be fine, right?"
Hermione felt like the two of them were like two cats tangled in a ball of yarn, one question after another wrapping them up, the more they pulled, the thicker the wrapping became.
Hermione shook her head: "Harry says he's found a solution, but he hasn't. Oh! I don't know what he's been doing all day! He needs a way to breathe underwater, but we haven't figured it out yet."
"Do you know the Head-Soaking Charm?" Praris asked casually. "Wouldn't it be enough to just learn the Head-Soaking Charm?"
Hermione asked, "What is that?"
Praris listed them off as if they were old friends: "A kind of magic that allows one to breathe underwater, along with the Frostfire spell that makes one immune to fire, and the Coldproof spell that allows one to walk on glaciers—the ancient Norse wizards were all skilled in these."
The last spell wasn't even in Winnie's spellbook, perhaps because she wasn't interested in it. Praris eventually found it in a Norse wizarding book that Pansy had given her.
"Tell me, can you teach me the Bubble Head Charm in half a day, and then I'll teach it to Harry in half a day?"
Hermione was pushed to the limit and started having wild ideas.
Praris swallowed hard. "I think that might be a bit difficult."
This challenge wasn't just imposed on Hermione, the student, but also on Prader, the teacher. Without any sense of urgency, Prader spent a whole day in the water learning the Bubble Head Charm, while Harry Potter had to go into the water the next day.
While Praris's poor swimming skills are a factor, it's enough to prove that this is not an easy spell.
Hermione gritted her teeth and stamped her foot: "Never mind, you teach me first!"
Praris couldn't help but exclaim, "Hermione is really ruthless!"
Even a rabbit will jump over a wall when cornered, and Hermione can even learn difficult spells when she's desperate. When night fell, Hermione unexpectedly unleashed her potential and hastily mastered the Bubble Head Charm!
Without considering other factors, Hermione was actually much faster than Prarese.
Having learned the Bubble Head Charm, Hermione rushed to Gryffindor Tower, attempting to recreate the extreme teaching and learning from the previous match with Harry.
Chapter 91 Gillbaghea
The next day, the competition was about to begin, but Porter still hadn't arrived.
Praris glanced at the crowd and noticed that Hermione wasn't there either.
This made her wonder if Potter simply couldn't learn the Bubble Head Charm, which led to her being knocked unconscious by an enraged Hermione.
Praris naturally didn't want to expend any extra effort on Potter and his team; it was just a competition. It was better that Potter couldn't participate; the enemy throwing his name note into the Goblet of Fire must have had a purpose.
By not participating in the competition, Porter can completely prevent the conspiracy from developing further.
After all, the professor had already taken a stand, and Winnie was so terrified of the Mystic. It was better for Potter, the Mystic's nemesis, to be alive than dead.
Just then, a figure rushed into the arena like a tornado.
Praris thought to himself, "This looks familiar."
In his first year, Potter ran away from Professor Snape to avoid being caught, and that's how he bumped into him and sent him flying.
However, even she couldn't have guessed that Harry had indeed knocked someone down this time—the Crevy brothers.
Now that the last warrior has arrived, Bagman announced the start of the match.
Delacour and Cedric used the Bubble Head Charm, and it seems they've mastered the spell quite well.
Krum attempted to use a Transfiguration spell to turn himself into a shark, but he only succeeded halfway, ending up as a monster with a fish head on top and a human body on the bottom.
Hmm, how can this not be considered a mermaid?
Or rather, fishmen?
Praris smiled inwardly.
Harry Potter then pulled a handful of gill sac grass from his pocket and swallowed it... gill sac grass?
Praris frowned.
Gill-sac grass, as the name suggests, is a herb that can make people grow gills and webbed fingers and toes. This herb is mainly distributed in the subtidal zone along the Mediterranean coast.
According to the "Wild Herb Identification Guide," this is a herb that is difficult to cultivate artificially. Gill sac grass grows among seaweed, but its shape is more like the folds of a ruff collar.
Prareas knew perfectly well that there was no cultivated gill sac grass in Ms. Sprout's glasshouse, and that the gill sac grass in Potter's hands was not fresh gill sac grass, but dried and processed finished gill sac grass that could be stored for a long time.
Enough, Potter! You've got your hands on Professor Snape's storeroom again!
Praris stared blankly at the still lake, not understanding what purpose everyone had in looking at the Black Lake.
What's the difference between sitting here watching the game and just spacing out for the first half hour of the match?
Draco yawned: "How boring. If Potter doesn't get bitten by Grindylow in the lake, then I've wasted my time here today."
No one knows better than Slytherin what's at the bottom of the lake; Prasris even often stares at the giant squid outside the window!
“We’ve all dealt with Greendylows,” Prarese said. “Back in third grade. I think the other schools’ players had a harder time with them than Potter did with Greendylows.”
Draco clicked his tongue in regret, then said, "Then the giant squid will do too."
“You should know that the giant squid in our lake don’t bite,” Praris said to him helplessly.
The giant squid like humans and often swim near the castle, looking at the castle windows as if they were a human zoo.
Draco muttered to himself, listing all the creatures in the lake. He figured any fish, no matter how small, was a good fish as long as Potter could have a bite.
The onlookers on the shore gradually got bored and started looking for their own entertainment.
But even after an hour had passed, not a single head had surfaced.
"They're here! They're here!" someone suddenly shouted.
The first to come up was Diggory, who helped Cho Chang climb out of the water, both of them soaking wet.
"Cedric! Cedric!"
The Hufflepuffs cheered excitedly!
Draco grinned smugly and pulled out another "Potter Stinky Shit" badge from somewhere: "See? Potter's going to lose."
The second was Krum, whose hostage was Hermione Granger. As soon as he got ashore, he turned his head back and whispered something to Hermione.
The third one to come up was Fleur Delacour.
Surprisingly, she had no hostages with her.
"Where is Gabrielle?" Mrs. Maxim asked her hurriedly.
It turned out that Delacour was injured, and her Bubble Head Spell had been interrupted.
She couldn't stay in the water any longer and had to come up and cast the spell again.
"I haven't—I haven't found her yet. Grindelwald attacked me, and I have to go back down to look for her!"
Delacour spoke haltingly, and then immediately tried to sink back into the water.
Maxim grabbed her arm: "Wait a minute!"
“Madam! I have to go down and find her! It’s so dark in the water! You know she’s afraid of the dark!” Fleur cried out, trying to pull Mrs. Maxim’s hand away. “She’s waiting for me! She can’t even swim! It’s all my fault!”
"Calm down! Listen to me!" Mrs. Maxim grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the shore. "Gabrielle will be alright!"
"No! Gabrielle! Gabrielle!"
Furong struggled desperately, unable to hear anything anyone said. She stood up and tried to run to the shore, but she fell down as soon as she stood up, yet she still desperately tried to plunge into the water.
The students from Beauxbatons panicked and reached out to help her, but she slapped them away.
Just then, several heads surfaced.
Harry Potter and Ron were dragging someone along, walking from the water toward the shore, talking as they went.
They were accompanied by a dozen or twenty mermaids, who escorted them ashore like a ceremonial guard.
Fleur seemed to finally realize that Harry and the others were dragging her sister along!
She cried out, "Gabrielle! Is my sister alright?!"
Harry Potter opened his mouth, but no one could hear what he said.
Furong finally broke free from Ms. Maxim's obstruction, rushed up to her sister, hugged her tightly, and burst into tears.
“A hero saving a damsel in distress.” Draco scoffed. “Saint Potter is always like this. Look, he’s gained another, no, two more, admirers.”
Can Praris speak?
Sometimes she actually quite liked Draco's sarcastic side.
In the past, she always had to pretend to be perfect, a student with minor flaws but who could generally satisfy the professors.
She believed this was the optimal solution, and for the sake of long-term benefits, it was alright to suppress herself a little.
But Draco was always so free; he could insult someone whenever he wanted, and trample on someone whenever he wanted.
It looks bad, it's unethical, but it's really fun.
People often like to project their own inability onto others. The elderly shelter the young, hoping that the children will have the happiness and liveliness they never had; those who lack love offer their love to those who do not, hoping that the other person will have the fulfillment they never received.
Prareas teaches Draco to handle things more intelligently, but never stops him from living a mean and arrogant life.
Dumbledore requested that the scoring be discussed beforehand. Upon hearing this, Praris could already foresee the final outcome.
