“Anyway, there aren’t any Slytherin players in the competition.” Draco’s tone softened unusually. “If you need—”
Bagman blew his third whistle, and all the warriors entered the maze.
“No need,” Praris said somewhat coldly. “Go watch the competition. I can do the experiment by myself.”
"Tsk." Draco really didn't want to be too blunt, but Pansy and Theodore's "admonition" was still fresh in his mind. "But you don't even watch the games. Can you understand that?"
Draco stood up and walked toward Praris.
Praris glanced at his watch and said quickly, "No need, you don't understand this experiment. I won't take up any more of your time, I'll be going now."
Harry used Hermione's navigation magic to navigate the maze without hindrance, so safely that it infuriated him.
He couldn't help but think of Hermione's words and Spoon's frightening letters. If those friends were here, they would surely tell Harry that this was the calm before the storm, a way to lull him into a false sense of security.
Draco stared in astonishment as Praris left, unable to react for a long time.
I don't understand?!
She said I don't understand potions?!
I also got an "O" in Potions class!
Harry encountered Cedric, who had been blown up by a Blasttail, and quickened his pace to continue forward.
Praris walked up the stairs to the third floor, where the Defense Against the Dark Arts office was located.
Harry encounters Dementors and skillfully casts the Patronus Charm.
Praris stood in front of the office door and used "Alaho Opening" on the lock.
Harry watched in astonishment as his Patronus created the Dementors.
He realized something, waved his wand, and uttered "Funny funny".
Praris discovers that the fake Moody has cast the "Anti-Alaho Opening" spell on the door.
She then used a transformation spell to turn the bracelet on her wrist into wire, bent over, pressed her ear against the door, and began to pick the lock.
While half-starved in solitary confinement, the lock-picking skills he learned from Muggle secondhand books came in handy in the wizarding world—the lag in education was once again manifesting in strange ways.
Before he could even process what was happening, Praris cautiously pushed open the door to Moody's office and scanned the room warily.
Inside the office, a huge endoscope sat on the desk, and a golden antenna on a small table next to it emitted a strange buzzing sound from time to time. Diagonally opposite Praris was a peculiar mirror, in which blurry figures flickered.
Praris turned around nervously, making sure no one was around, and cursed inwardly at the crazy magical artifacts of the magical world.
She then turned her attention to the several boxes on the ground, which were her targets this time.
A few days ago, Praris deliberately made a mistake in class, which led to Moody calling her over to mess with her, thus confirming that these seven boxes were her target.
Praris's heart was pounding. She took a deep breath, quickly squatted down, took out the "wire," and began to pry open the lock.
That's great! If she can't make it in the magical world, she can always go to the Muggle world and steal business from locksmiths!
The lock on the box was much harder to open than the door lock. While successfully opening the first lock, Praris also managed to break Draco's chain.
With a touch of reluctance, Praris put the lapel chain back into his pocket and nervously opened the first box.
A pile of spellbooks was revealed.
Praris sat down on the ground dejectedly, cursing under his breath.
Harry managed to pull himself out of the golden mist and ran quickly toward the direction from which Fleur's voice came, glancing back every now and then with lingering fear.
Praris took another deep breath, removed the chain from the Emotion Pocket Watch, turning it into wire, and continued to pry open the lock with bated breath.
Harry encounters a Blasttail and uses the Binding Charm he learned during his training on the parchment to tie it up like a crab about to be cooked.
This is much better than the leg-locking spell; it can bind any number of legs, whether they have them or not.
Praris pried open the second lock and rolled his eyes at the spyglass and parchment inside.
Harry knocked out Krum, who had ambushed Cedric, and walked forward with some unease.
Prarese picked the third lock, her movements becoming more and more skillful, but her mood growing increasingly agitated.
Harry answered the Sphinx's riddle and finally arrived at the trophy.
Prarese picked the fourth and fifth locks, her forehead, above her lips, and neck already covered in sweat.
The giant spider ambushed Cedric, and Harry's mind went blank; all he could do was keep shaking "Faint" repeatedly.
Prarese began to pry open the sixth lock, her thumb and forefinger almost losing all feeling.
Harry finally regained a sliver of his sanity and raised his wand: "Winds of Fury! Howl of the Winds!"
Several gusts of wind pierced the spider's eyes and severed its legs. Then, a hurricane overturned the giant spider to the ground, collapsing a section of hedge.
Praris's index finger and thumb were dented by the wire, and she finally began to pry open the last lock.
Harry and Cedric politely deferred to each other for the first chance to receive the trophy, revealing shining, admirable qualities in them. At that moment, no one could deny that both children deserved the trophy.
"when!"
The last lock fell to the ground, and Praris collapsed helplessly to the floor.
She crawled on her knees with all her might toward the boxes and pushed open the last lid.
"Ha! Hahaha!" Praris covered his face and laughed. "I knew I wasn't wrong!"
At the bottom of the box lay a man who was as thin as a rake. He looked very much like the Moody she had seen, except that he was missing some hair, a wooden leg, and a demon eye.
Prarese struggled to drag Moody out of the box, but she simply didn't have the strength.
So, without hesitation, she took out her usual small bottles of healing and strengthening medicine from her bag, pried open his mouth, and poured them in.
“No way.” Praris shook his hand. “True Moody won’t wake up that quickly!”
She hurriedly pulled the tattered envelope from her bag and filled in the crucial information with trembling hands.
"No, I can't let my owl deliver the message." Praris's heart pounded. "I understand!"
Without hesitation, Praris left the real Moody behind and quickly ran out of Moody's office, making sure to close the door behind him.
In the owl shed, Praris's own owl hooted eagerly at her.
Prareas didn't have time to comfort her, and instead called out Hermione's owl's name, which angered her so much that her own owl pecked her in a huff.
Chapter 95 Self-Deception
“Good girl—good girl!” Prarese pushed her owl away forcefully and whispered, “Give this to your master Hermione Granger. You can do it, can’t you?”
Hermione's owl was as decisive as she was, grabbing the letter and flying away.
Only at this moment did Praris finally relax, leaning weakly against the corner of the owl shed.
In any case, she had done everything she could—teaming up with Hermione to train Potter, exposing Crouch's true colors, and so on.
She knew so little, yet wanted to do so much. She could do so little, yet was powerless to do so much.
At this point, it's a battle of wills between Potter and the Death Eaters to see who has the tougher life.
"This is bad!" the resilient Harry said nervously to Cedric. "Quick, find cover!"
Hermione and Spoon's confident words echoed in his mind:
"The terrain of a maze is perfect for murder and silencing witnesses."
"Nobody would even know Potter died."
"If any abnormality is encountered..."
"Porter's goal isn't to win, it's to survive..."
"This is the best chance to kill you..."
……
"My owl?" Hermione took the letter from the owl's claws, puzzled. "Who would write to me at this time?"
Ron peered curiously over: "What letter? Why wasn't it delivered at dinner time?"
Hermione opened the envelope with her name on it, only to find another envelope inside!
The envelope was addressed to Dumbledore.
She quickly covered the envelope, stood up abruptly, and ran towards the referee's table.
"Dumbledore! Dumbledore! I have a letter for you!"
……
"How much did you bet this time?" Sinister took a sip of his drink. "Tsk, this is all student-run liquor, it's tasteless."
Stella rolled her eyes: "Bet, bet, bet my ass! Money earned dishonestly always ends up with dishonest people! Ludo Bagman's mouth is even more deceitful than Loki's! F**k Bagman! Do you think it's easy for me to work and earn money...?"
Sinister couldn't help but lean back to avoid entering Stella's attack range.
“That kid outside is pretty handsome, but why does he walk like a rubber man…” Stella suddenly stopped her rant: “Huh? Isn’t that the new Quidditch captain from Hufflepuff?”
"Huh?" Sinister stood up in surprise, rushed out of the bar, and shouted, "Cedric! Cedric! What are you doing here?!"
Cedric turned around in a panic, his face ashen: "Professor Sinister? Quick! Find Dumbledore! Save Harry!"
……
"You go first!" Harry covered his scar and hid behind the tombstone. "It must be Voldemort and his servants!"
"Harry, how can I leave you alone!"
Cedric was a little confused, but no matter what, he would never desert or abandon Harry!
Harry endured the excruciating pain that felt like his brain was about to explode, and with a burst of astonishing rationality, he felt as if Hermione and her friends had possessed him!
Harry's teeth chattered as he said, "Listen, I can only go back with the Portkey, but you can Apparate. Voldemort can't kill me, my mother's love magic has always protected me, but you can't... Go back and get me reinforcements, okay!"
"Potter, are you scared?" a sinister voice echoed from afar.
Harry felt as if all color had vanished from his eyes, and everything had degenerated into a black and white, murky world.
He felt nauseous and wanted to vomit, but nothing came out; he just kept dry heaving: "Please, Ced—go quickly—Dumbledore—"
Cedric's heart nearly jumped out of his throat. He didn't know if the person in front of the tombstone was Voldemort, but he knew that his Apparition was not powerful enough to take someone with him and leave unharmed.
He gritted his teeth, reached out and hugged Harry: "Wait for me!"
