She was dressed in a dark brown vest, a striped shirt with a slightly open collar, and apricot-colored suit trousers—a completely Muggle outfit that made her look like a fashionable young woman in downtown London.

In short, there wasn't a single place that looked like a witch.

Hermione quickly replied, "Miss Brown, Dumbledore just got back and is on the second floor."

Winnie hurried past them.

“Isn’t it incredible?” Hermes exclaimed. “She looks more like someone who has lived in the Muggle world than we do, but she actually comes from a wizarding family.”

Ron told Harry, "She's Dumbledore's summer tutor for us. Lupin says she's the most magical person alive right now. Apparently, Professor Flitwick has always wanted her to write a book on spells."

“But her teaching of spells was too abrupt,” Hermione added.

Ron disagreed: "I think it's alright, at least I've learned some things."

“That’s too superficial; you just know how to use it,” Hermione retorted.

Ron didn't understand: "Isn't it enough to just know how to use it?"

Hermione tried to explain: “Mastering and being able to use are two different things. You don’t understand the connection between the two spells. It’s like you know this is pound cake and that is fruitcake, but you don’t understand that they are both cakes. You can’t make other cakes just because you’ve learned how to make one kind of cake.”

"Do you think Mom can bake a cake today?" Ron's thoughts jumped even further. "I kind of want to eat cake."

Harry and Hermione couldn't help but burst into laughter, and Ron also laughed heartily.

Suddenly, as if remembering something, he said seriously to Harry, "Harry, but don't believe her too much. Dad said she used to follow Voldemort."

“What?!” Harry said sullenly, “Dumbledore would rather cooperate with the Death Eaters than tell me more of the truth.”

“This is Dumbledore’s plan, and it wasn’t easy for him to make such a decision,” Hermione said earnestly. “Miss Brown has long since sided with Dumbledore; she’s now a member of the Order of the Phoenix. Voldemort wants nothing more than to kill her, so she can only live in hiding—”

……

Prarese considered for a long time whether or not to tell Winnie and Dumbledore about Potter's possible trial at Wizengamot.

Draco told her this as a joke because he trusted her.

If she tells Winnie about this, she will betray Draco's trust in her and their relationship.

She wasn't with Draco because of information about the Death Eaters!

But if she doesn't tell Winnie, and Potter gets expelled from Hogwarts... will Dumbledore be overwhelmed when school starts? Will that affect their plans?

Two conflicting ideas were clashing in her mind, preventing her from making a final decision.

“Winnie, you said last time that Potter had already arrived in Dumbledore’s territory?” Praris asked thoughtfully.

Winnie nodded: "Yes."

"Do you think Porter will be fired?" Praris asked.

Winnie said nonchalantly, "Dumbledore will handle this. It's no big deal. Covering up the mess the Gryffindors have made is his forte. The International Confederation of Wizards dismissed him, but his prestige remains."

Praris's mind raced with names of people who might cause Dumbledore trouble: Hagrid, Sirius, Lupin, Harry... It seemed he was getting the hang of it.

“Let’s not discuss this anymore,” Winnie said. “Dumbledore said your previous research on soul magic was very interesting. He also wrote you a letter, encouraging you to continue your research…”

Prareas took Dumbledore's letter, scanned it from top to bottom, and then lit it on fire with his wand.

No wonder people like to blame everything on Dumbledore; it feels so good to have someone to rely on.

Prarese felt fortunate that Dumbledore's power meant she didn't have to choose between the two.

But she also knew that this was only temporary.

She will have to make a choice here sooner or later; it's something she can't escape forever.

She once told herself that this was a fleeting relationship, and she only needed to enjoy the present. But when she had to make a choice in this relationship, she became hesitant.

Prarees waited patiently until news of Harry Potter's victory arrived, at which point she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Chapter 99 Horcrux

"Do you believe me? I won't starve to death in Black Rose Alley."

Praris leaned on the armrest of the sofa and said helplessly.

Ms. Prie pulled her shawl tighter around herself and said with concern, “My dear little Prie, but I’m worried about you.”

“Alright, alright, I’ll always lose to you.” Praris sat cross-legged on the sofa, taking the sandwich from Ms. Prie. “Why isn’t Miss Winnie here today?”

Ms. Priscilla slowly raised her eyes and said softly, "Winnie is going to see an old American friend, a spell master."

"Does Dumbledore want to recruit more helpers?" Praris asked as he opened the sandwich.

Ms. Prie said sadly, "Perhaps, but a little accident happened."

Praris sat up abruptly and grabbed Ms. Prie's sleeve: "What happened!"

“Winnie encountered a Death Eater who was after the goblins,” Ms. Priscilla said. “But he recognized Winnie—”

The sky over Dublin was gloomy, like the ashen face of a dead man.

Inside a wizard's tavern.

“Lottie, the Mysterious Man’s reach won’t stop in England,” Winnie whispered. “You know his ambitions.”

Charlotte Smith shrugged nonchalantly. "Of course I know. But Winifred, have you forgotten? I'm an American. Whatever happens, I can always go back home."

Winnie met Charlotte when she was very young. The two were geniuses who admired each other, but they also liked to annoy each other.

Winnie was used to being called by her nickname, but Charlotte insisted on calling her Winifred; Charlotte was used to being called by her full name, but Winnie insisted on calling her Lottie.

“But—” Winnie wanted to say something more.

Mrs. Smith pressed her hand down: "Winifred, I can have Isabella give your student a chance, even though your student doesn't need it. But absolutely not, I will never help you deal with the Mystic."

"Yes, we all know that the whole world is grateful to Dumbledore for solving Grindelwald's problem. That's great, excellent! But now, this is your own business, your own business, the business of you Europeans."

Mrs. Smith shrugged. "The question is, has he really come back to life? I doubt it. How could someone driven by vengeance possibly allow this land to remain peaceful once he's alive? But for now, you're still here having a good drink!"

“It’s an illusion!” Winnie exclaimed urgently. “No one knows better than me whether he has risen from the dead!”

“Yes, you’re right,” Mrs. Smith said nonchalantly. “Let’s just assume he really came back to life! I can just buy a ticket and go back to New York right away, right? My sister has been wanting me to go back to my hometown.”

The sister Mrs. Smith mentioned is Ms. Isabella, the vice principal of Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, who gave Praris the opportunity to escape.

This is the current situation of the Order of the Phoenix; almost all of its members have been dispersed to try and recruit more people to join the fight against Voldemort.

This job wasn't easy. Many people didn't believe, or refused to believe, Voldemort's resurrection. Others thought that as long as they ran away, nothing would happen; Charlotte Smith was one of the latter.

Although Mrs. Smith did not grant Winnie's request, she still invited Winnie to stay for a meal before leaving.

“Thank you, Lottie.” Winnie shook her head. “But I have to hurry to see the next person.”

Mrs. Smith disagreed, saying, "Winifred, I don't like giving advice, but as your friend, I have to say this. I've been thinking for a long time that people like us should focus on our research rather than taking sides."

"You've never been able to settle down. If you hadn't tried to take shortcuts and had instead focused on doing research, you might be at your current level."

Winnie sighed, "How could I not regret it? But what's done is done. Now I'm on a path of atonement, for those I indirectly caused to die."

She picked up the straw hat from the table, put it on her head, and hastily said goodbye to her old friend Smith.

Smith sighed. "Well, Winifred, may Merlin bless you!"

As Winnie walked, she mentally planned who to talk to next.

"Don't be ridiculous, buddy! You wizards never tell the truth." A shrill voice rang out in the alley. "Bagman still owes me money! And you expect me to believe you now?!"

Winnie slowed her pace, but her ears perked up.

The Order of the Phoenix has recently been trying to win over fairies, but the fairies no longer trust wizards... Who is in charge of contacting fairies now?

"Ah! Those guys at the Ministry of Magic are certainly not trustworthy. They're burying their heads in the sand and still don't believe that Master has recovered."

"But we all know that our master is a man of his word. That was true in the past, and it will be true in the future—who!"

Winnie immediately used Apparition, but was interrupted by the opponent's magic.

"Miss Brown?"

The wizard who appeared was draped in a black robe and wore a Death Eater mask. He let out a mocking laugh: "I really didn't expect this—doesn't it look familiar? You're the one who taught us this method of interrupting Apparition, although not many people have learned it."

Winnie clutched her chest, carefully controlling her tense breathing, and cautiously searched for an opportunity to escape, wand in hand.

She hadn't had a real fight in over ten years; her most recent real combat exercise was against Little Pley, who was on summer vacation.

"What are you afraid of?" The unknown Death Eater approached Winnie with a laugh. "Why don't you come back to us? Our master has been waiting for your response—are you afraid? Afraid of our master's retribution? Are you feeling guilty too?!"

The Death Eater raised his wand, which emitted a beam of red light: "Let me deal with you, you traitor, in place of my master!"

Winnie quickly blocked with the Ironclad Charm, and a dreamy blue light emanated from the tip of her wand: "Foam Illusion!"

The colorful bubbles surged toward the Death Eater, surrounding him and blocking his view.

The Death Eaters immediately raised their wands to disperse the bubbles, but then they heard a voice from behind the bubbles: "Stuck in the mud!"

After casting the spell, Winnie ignored the Death Eaters' fate and Apparated away from the spot without looking back.

“Winnie was the first person to encounter the Death Eaters,” Ms. Priestess said. “Her encounter with the Death Eaters ruined their plan to win over the goblins. The goblins thought the Death Eaters were even attacking their own people, and that the Death Eaters were not that capable, so they ran away in the chaos.”

Ms. Priscilla added, "From that day on, for Winnie's safety, Dumbledore stopped letting her go out and made her stay at the outpost to teach."

“That’s a good thing,” Praris comforted her. “Look, Winnie wasn’t really injured, and she doesn’t need to go on field missions anymore. The cooperation between the Death Eaters and the goblins has also been temporarily disrupted. It’s a win-win-win situation, isn’t it?”

Ms. Prie blinked. "Not necessarily. Sirius hasn't been able to leave the house for over a month, and he doesn't look well at all; he's been depressed the whole time."

“He’s probably been poisoned by the Dementors,” Praris said somewhat coldly. “Our Winnie is perfectly healthy.”

That was the only way Ms. Priscilla could console herself. She rushed back to the Order of the Phoenix as soon as she finished her conversation.

Ms. Priscilla was treated differently from Winnie. She never followed Voldemort, was kind and loving towards girls, and got along very well with Molly Weasley.

All Prarese can say is, how can someone with a criminal record be the same as someone without one?

Of course, she also communicated with Dumbledore through the two ladies who delivered her meals—neither she nor Dumbledore believed in the owl's safety.

I'm so sorry, messengers of the owls.

Soul magic is a profound art that can easily lead people astray.

It is not magic itself that leads people astray, but the fear and greed within their hearts.

Long before people developed thought, they were already accustomed to living.

Some people suddenly realize one day that once they die, they will lose everything they have; some people suddenly realize one day that life itself is so beautiful yet so fragile; some people suddenly realize one day that there are still many things left undone in this world.
