"Hahaha..." Bellemere and the other two burst into laughter when they saw Reina's appearance.
Before long, they arrived at the port of Xuan Yue Island. After Bellemere and the other two had disembarked with their luggage, Reina released the hard shell of the summoning spell.
"Go and inform my elder brother that I'm back! But I brought a few guests with me. I'll settle them in before I go see him!" Reina first instructed the port guards, then said to the three of them, "Let's go, I'll take you to a place to rest first!"
Upon returning to Crescent Moon Island, Reina noticed the changes. First, the accommodation area had decreased significantly, with most of the houses demolished. Second, the trading area, which was originally located at the port, had been expanded considerably, and there were many more merchants there than before.
Reina knew that this was Frank and the Doctor's idea. They had told him before that the permanent residents of Crescent Moon Island had all moved directly to the underground space, and the surface was mainly used as accommodation for guests and members of their pirate crews.
After choosing a slightly better room for each of the three, Reina found one of Frank's subordinates and asked him to introduce the three to Crescent Moon Island, while he himself went directly to Whitebeard's side.
At this moment, Whitebeard was drinking with the captains of various pirate crews in the banquet square, and the captains were telling Whitebeard about what they had seen and heard in the past year.
"Big brother!" Reina smiled and sat down next to the white-bearded man.
"You're back? I heard you brought back some guests?" the white-bearded man asked curiously.
He thought it was some kind of scientist, because Reiner had said before he left that he wanted to recruit more scientists to join.
"Yes! He's a friend I met in the East Blue, not a pirate, so I just brought him back for the banquet!" Reina said with a smile.
He did not reveal his plans at this time.
"Hmm!" Whitebeard didn't ask any further questions upon hearing this, and instead said directly, "That kid from Doflamingo's family has been looking for you a few times, it seems like something's up, but since you weren't there, I didn't pay any attention. Go check it out yourself later! Also, it seems like two of Zephyr's disciples have been looking for you too! But the Doctor took them away! Find out the details yourself!"
Reina's face darkened. He had just returned, and Whitebeard had already dumped the problem on him again.
Chapter 412 Señor's Gratitude
After leaving the banquet square, Reina went to Señor Piqué's place first. Piqué had contacted him several times, presumably because his wife's condition had changed, which was why Reina went to see him first.
“Mr. Reina, you’re back?” On a small hill, Reina met Señor, who was pushing Lucien out for a walk.
"Hmm! You came looking for me? Was there something wrong? How is Lucien doing?" Reina walked over, stood beside Señor, and asked softly.
“It’s much better now. The last time I came to see you was because I noticed that Lucien’s fingers were moving! Didn’t you say that as long as the limbs can move, it proves that the treatment is effective?” Señor smiled slightly and said to Reina.
"Oh? Really? When did this happen? Has this situation occurred again since then?" Reina asked happily after hearing the story.
“Yes, just yesterday, his fingers moved again, and I felt like she wanted to say something!” Señor said, reaching out to stroke Lucien’s face, replying with a gentle expression.
"That's wonderful news!" Reina nodded with a smile and said, "It means our treatment is working, and Lucien might wake up soon!"
"Yes! I have to thank you for all of this!" Señor turned his head and said earnestly.
“No, this is all the result of your own efforts! But now that this method has proven effective, and I have finished my work here, have you made a decision? Do you want to go back to the Don Quixote family?” Reina slowly sat down, holding onto the wheelchair with one hand, and turned Lucian’s hand over to take her pulse.
Perhaps he hadn't thought it through, or perhaps he didn't want to disturb Reina's diagnosis of Lucien, so Señor didn't answer.
"Good, you're in good health, keep it up!" After a moment, Reina released Lucián's wrist, covered him with the blanket again, and said with a smile.
“I definitely need to go back to the young master’s place! But not now. I want to wait until Lucian is fully recovered before I go back! Then I’ll leave the pirate crew and live with Lucian from now on!” Señor sat down on the other side of Lucian and said directly.
“You know the consequences of going back… your young master might kill you!” Reina said.
“As a man, I cannot shirk my responsibilities, even if it comes at a price… I must face them!” Señor looked up at the sky and said softly.
But he didn't see that as he spoke, Lucien's hand moved again.
“Is that so? Perhaps… some people don’t think so!” Reina caught a glimpse of a scene that Señor hadn’t witnessed, and he pointed at the route and said to Señor.
Señor was taken aback at first, then looked at Lucien with some surprise. This time he clearly saw that Lucien's lips were trembling.
“Mr. Reina…you…you look! Lu…Lucian, she…she wants to speak!?” Señor was so excited that he was starting to stammer.
"Don't get excited...Lucian...I know you can probably hear us right now, but please don't get excited. You know you haven't been able to control your body for a long time, so it will be a little difficult at first, but don't rush...we'll take it slowly!"
“Mr. Señor, don’t get agitated. If you can… step back a little and stand in front of Lucian so she can see you!” Upon noticing Lucian’s condition, Reina immediately stood up, half-squatting beside her, and began to guide her movements.
Sure enough, after hearing Reina's words, Lucien's lips stopped trembling, his fingers stopped, and his breathing seemed to slow down.
“First, if you can hear me… blink your eyes. Your eyelids are relatively easy to control, so you can try to control them!” Reina slowed his voice and began to guide Lucien to do some movements.
However, Reina and Señor discovered that Lucien had stopped making any moves.
“Mr. Reina…” Señor began to get a little anxious.
“Don’t rush, Mr. Señor… Please trust Lucien. What you need to do now is give her confidence and tell her that you’ve always been by her side! No matter the outcome… you won’t leave her! Let’s give her some time; she can do it!” Reina reached out to stop Señor from approaching and said to him.
"Hoo!" Señor took a deep breath, and the dyed cloth returned to where Lucian could see it. He said to her, "I'm sorry, Lucian, although I've said this to you countless times, I still want to say it seriously... one more time!"
“You know what? I understand how you felt back then! The day I noticed your fingers trembling, I searched for Mr. Reina like a madman, but they told me... Mr. Reina had gone to sea, and I couldn't find him at all!”
“Back in the room, all I could do was watch your trembling fingers slowly come to a stop, that helplessness… that anxiety… I truly understood the pain you felt when you couldn’t find me after the child’s accident! Lucian…”
Seeing Señor speaking while shedding tears, Reina stepped back a little, giving the couple some space.
Reina watched as Señor knelt before Lucien, recounting the events of the past few days, sometimes laughing, sometimes crying.
Just as he was about to stop Reina from leaving, he saw Lucian's lips slowly turn up, and then tears welled up in his eyes!
"Phew~ It's done!" Reina knew that Lucien had definitely heard what Señor said, which was why he reacted.
“Alright! Mr. Señor, you can stop now! I can tell you very clearly now... there is a very high chance that Lucien has regained consciousness!” Reina patted Señor, who was still talking, and said with a light laugh.
"Huh?" Señor looked at Reina with a puzzled expression.
Reina pointed to Lucian's face, and only then did Señor notice Lucian's upturned lips and the tears on his face.
“Mr. Ray... Mr. Rayner, what happened to Lucian? What happened to her?” Señor asked, both surprised and delighted.
“This only proves one thing…that Lucien heard you and responded!” Reina said with a smile.
"Really...? Is this...is this true?" Señor plopped down on the ground, as if all the strength had been drained from his body.
“Alright, Mr. Señor, congratulations! From today onwards, Lucien’s treatment can enter the next stage! However… there’s one thing I hope you can promise me!” Reina looked at Lucien, his smile fading, and said to Señor.
“Please speak, as long as it is within my power, Señor Pique will absolutely not delay in the slightest!” Señor said firmly.
"Regarding the matter of returning to the Don Quixote family... I hope you can obtain Lucien's consent before proceeding, what do you say?" Reina said earnestly.
“This…” Señor hesitated for a moment and did not answer immediately.
“She’s a poor thing… If I heal her, but she loses her husband again… that would be too cruel for her!” Reina glanced at Señor and said softly.
Looking at the silent Señor, Reina sighed, shook his head, and said, "Take Lucian back first! Don't mention this to her again, it will affect her treatment! I'll teach you a massage technique later, it's for relieving muscle tension and improving blood circulation. Massage Lucian three to four times a day!"
Señor was startled, then nodded and said, "I understand, I will do as you ask!"
After pushing Lucian for a while, he turned back to Reiner and said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Reiner... I wasn't..."
"Alright, that's enough. Take good care of Lucian. Remember to come to my place tonight to pick up your things. I'll teach you how to massage while I'm there!" Reina waved his hand, interrupting Señor.
He realized that Señor had misunderstood him at first, thinking that Señor wanted to recruit him into the Whitebeard Pirates.
Upon closer reflection, I realized that Reina was doing it purely for his and Lucien's benefit.
After Señor and Lucien returned, Reina walked towards the Sky Island with a wry smile.
Currently, Binz and Ein are both in the research lab on Sky Island, helping Dr. Asie with some research.
However, before Reina could even set foot on the sky island, he sensed a strange energy.
"Hala halala~" Several transparent little ghosts were flying happily in the air all around.
“Perona? What are you doing here?” Reina asked, frowning.
"Hala harala~" But the ghosts didn't answer Reina; instead, they slowly drifted toward a certain place.
"What are these guys up to? Why did they turn a perfectly good research lab into such a gloomy place?!" Reina said with some dissatisfaction, looking at the changes on the sky island.
The original sky island was quite spacious, mostly grassy except for research labs and some buildings, giving people a refreshing feeling.
But now the Sky Island has become a forest, filled with tall trees that block out the sunlight and make it somewhat eerie. Especially with Perona's little ghosts wandering among them, there is an even more terrifying atmosphere.
However, Reina paid no attention to any of this and headed straight for the location of the laboratory that he remembered.
However, when he arrived at the laboratory, the scene before him surprised him.
"What...what exactly happened?" Looking at the middle of the forest, the original location of the laboratory seemed to have become a dilapidated place that had been neglected for a long time.
Only the buildings peeking out from among the moss confirmed to Reina that this was the location of the laboratory.
"Creak~~" Just as Reina was about to activate his Observation Haki, the dilapidated laboratory door suddenly opened.
"What are you guys up to?" Reina frowned and asked as soon as the door was opened but no one came out.
"Horo horo horo..." Perona, in her ghost form, floated out from the laboratory wall and smiled at Reina, saying, "How was it? Not bad, right?"
With a "bang!" he punched Perona's ghost form away, and Reina walked straight into the laboratory with a cold face. He wanted to find the doctor and ask him what was going on.
However, when he entered the laboratory, he found that it was still the same as before, or even more luxurious, and not the same as what he had seen from the outside.
"Damn it, Reina!! Why did you suddenly hit me?" At this moment, Perona's ghost form flew back, covering her face and roaring angrily at Reina.
"Where's the Doctor? I don't have time for you right now. I'll deal with you after I finish talking to the Doctor! Humph!" Reina knew he must have misunderstood something, but he absolutely couldn't show weakness in front of Perona, otherwise the little guy would be too smug.
Chapter 413 On the Eve of the Grand Banquet
As expected, after Dr. Reina finished speaking, this was indeed the masterpiece of Perona and Olga.
However, it wasn't something they intentionally created; it was caused by an accident by the doctor.
"So... this forest was created by you and Binz?" Reina said with a hint of helplessness.
The doctor nodded and said with a wry smile, "That's right. I was doing an experiment with Binz at the time, but I forgot about it and by the time we realized it, it had already turned out like this!"
However, the doctor originally planned to cut down the forest after discovering it, as the wood could still be used. But just a few days later, Olga, who had become quite close to Perona, brought Perona over and discovered the place.
So the two guys made some modifications and transformed the sky island into what it is today.
The PhD student, seeing that his lab was now more secluded and that wasn't so bad, stopped bothering with it.
"Alright! Since you don't object, Doctor, I won't say anything more! But you two... don't just sit around doing nothing all day. The renovation of Xuan Yue Island isn't finished yet, so go and help me out! Also, the big banquet is in a few days, so don't cause any trouble, understand?" Reina instructed Perona and Olga beside him.
"Hehehe... It's like you're the only one doing the work and we haven't done anything! Isn't the layout here good enough? The Sky Island can help Dad fight in the future!" Olga stuck out her tongue and said to Reina.
Relying on the favor of Dr. Assie and Whitebeard, she was not afraid of Reina at all. As long as it was not a matter of principle, she was justified in her actions.
Reina glared at Olga, then said nothing more, instead asking the Doctor, "How are Binz and Ain doing lately? I heard they contacted me?"
"Yes! They want to know where their teacher is!" Bo Shijian nodded and said, "Both children are very good. If you can... please help them!"
“I understand. Since the doctor has spoken on my behalf, I will have the intelligence department keep a close eye on him after the banquet! Zephyr is all alone now, so it won’t be easy for him to find! Therefore, I can’t guarantee that I can find him quickly!” Reina nodded and said.
