Moreover, he went to the ship's cabin to see the slaves, and the value of those slaves alone was estimated to be more than what they had been robbed of.

"Hmph, still trying to argue? Our gold storage boxes are all fixed! Don't tell me that the box you use to store your gold is exactly the same as ours? It has the Whitebeard Pirates' insignia on it!" The fifth division's combatant sneered and replied.

"Take me to see!" By now, Vista was starting to trust his players, because they wouldn't lie about something like this!

Chapter 462 Gibson's Encounter

When Gibson and Vista arrived at a room inside the ship's cabin, they indeed found a treasure chest casually piled up there, filled with gold, and at the very bottom of the chest was the Whitebeard Pirates' symbol.

"What do you want to say?" Besta asked, looking at the surprised Gibson.

“This…this…these things are not mine at all! Right, that guy…” Gibson immediately turned his head, looking around for something, but did not find the target.

“Captain Vista, please believe me! These things really aren’t mine! They’re from my partners. On their way here, they said they robbed a small pirate crew and got the loot! I didn’t think much of it at the time, so I had him leave the things here! I’m telling the truth. If I had known they robbed your Whitebeard Pirates, I would have arrested them and handed them over to you! How could I let you inspect them like this?” Gibson explained to Vista, sweating profusely.

“You can explain that to your father yourself after you go to Xuan Yue Island! Mr. Gibson, you are a person of some standing, so we don’t need to lift a finger, do we?” Vista said with a light laugh.

If he hadn't seen the slaves in the cabin, he might have actually believed the other party and wouldn't have made things too difficult for them. But now... isn't this the perfect opportunity?

Seeing Vista's expression, Gibson immediately knew what the other was planning. Fortunately, Vista didn't intend to kill him now, but instead took him back to Crescent Moon Island. In that case, he still had a chance to live. As for the cargo on the ship... he had completely given up hope.

When Vista brought Gibson back to Crescent Island, Reina was already waiting at the port.

"Who are you again? You've got some nerve, haven't you? Daring to rob us in the waters off Xuan Yue Island? I think you've got some nerve!" Upon seeing Gibson, Reina couldn't immediately recall who he was, but that didn't stop him from venting his anger.

Gibson's lips twitched involuntarily, then he said with a mournful face, "Vice-Captain Reina, I really didn't know that it belonged to our Whitebeard Pirates! If I had known, even if you gave me a hundred lives, I wouldn't have dared to take it!"

"Oh~ Looks like there's more to the story? No problem, I love listening to stories from people like you. Once the story's over, you can hang it on the flagpole to dry, that'll be a highlight!" Reina sneered.

Gibson was so scared he almost wet himself. He could only look to Vista for help, hoping he could put in a good word for him.

However, Vista didn't even glance at him, and instead walked towards the main building.

When the group arrived at the banquet square, Whitebeard was already waiting for them. There was no need for a meeting room for someone who dared to rob them, so Whitebeard thought they could just eat something in the banquet square and settle things there.

"Father... I'm innocent!" Before anyone could speak, Gibson suddenly knelt down and cried out to Whitebeard as he crawled forward on his knees.

"Damn... what a talent!" Even Reina had to admit he was impressed by Gibson's appearance.

"Huh? Who are you?" Whitebeard was also taken aback by Gibson and asked in surprise.

“Dad, it’s me! The old master of the warehouse industry, the stealth master Gibson! I’ve been here to celebrate with you at the annual banquet!” Gibson cried.

"Oh, it's you! What brings you here?" Whitebeard was taken aback, and after thinking carefully, he asked.

Gibson quickly recounted what had happened, swearing and cursing, "I really didn't know they were talking about the Whitebeard Pirates who robbed us! If I had known, I wouldn't have dared to hide it even if I had the guts of a million!"

Whitebeard looked at Vista, his eyes asking if the other was telling the truth.

Vista nodded, indicating that the other party was not lying and probably genuinely did not know about this beforehand.

However, Bistan was still thinking about the slaves, so he wanted to tell Whitebeard about the situation. But Reina spoke first, saying, "You don't know? You think you can just brush this off with a simple 'I don't know'? Are you kidding me? Do you even know where you are?"

“Vice Commander, I really didn’t know beforehand! But I also bear responsibility. I will take full responsibility for all the losses your group has suffered, whether it’s medical expenses or any other costs! How about it?” Gibson quickly said to Reina.

"Medication expenses? Are you kidding me? We lost two comrades! Even if we cut you down, it wouldn't make up for it! Putting everything else aside, who is your so-called partner?" Reina asked with a displeased expression.

“It’s gone. I went looking for it as soon as it was discovered, but I couldn’t find them anywhere. They must have done it on purpose to frame me!” Gibson said bitterly.

“I don’t care, that’s your problem!” Reina shook his head and said arrogantly.

At this moment, Vista walked up to Reina and whispered something to him, which made Gibson's eyelids twitch.

"Oh, not bad! You dare to traffic people in our Xuan Yue Island waters? As expected of the emperor of the underworld, you really don't take our Whitebeard Pirates seriously!" Reina said sarcastically after hearing Vista's words.

"Things have already gotten to this point, and I can't offer much explanation for myself! I beg the first mate to show me the way out. I don't know what I should do to get rid of me!" Gibson stopped struggling and laid everything bare.

“No problem. One hundred million Berries for the funeral expenses of each of my two deceased companions isn’t too much, is it?” Reina asked Gibson.

Gibson's lips twitched. Although he wanted to refute, he knew that saying more now would only make things worse, so he could only obediently nod in agreement.

"Furthermore, you were doing things that our Whitebeard Pirates explicitly forbid in our Xuan Yue Island waters, so is it alright to seize your cargo ship?" Reina said again.

“No problem!” Gibson nodded resignedly and replied.

"Finally, there's the matter of robbing us. As the emperor of the underworld, your words carry some weight, so we agree with your explanation. However, things can't just end like this. First, you must tell us the information about your so-called partner. Second, you need to compensate us with an equivalent amount of gold! Any questions?" Reina asked after thinking for a moment.

“No…no problem!” Gibson nodded and said.

If something can be solved with Pele, it's not a problem.

He would be willing to pay any amount of Berries as long as the Whitebeard Pirates let him go.

“Very well, don’t say I won’t give you a way out. I’ll give you half a month to do the above three things. If you do them, this matter will be over. If you don’t… no matter where you hide, I will find you and sink you to the bottom of the sea!” After Reina finished speaking, he looked at Whitebeard. Seeing Whitebeard nod, he waved his hand and ordered Gibson to be released.

"Aren't you going to get lost?"

Upon hearing Reina's words, Gibson quickly led his men toward the port.

"Reina, when did we lose two comrades? Didn't they both come back?" After Gibson left, Vista asked in confusion.

"You're going to pay the two hundred million Berries? What an idiot!" Reina said, scoffing.

Vista's face darkened; it turned out that Reina had been lying all along.

"Frank, is the port ready?" Reina asked Frank beside him.

"Don't worry, First Mate, everything has been arranged!" Frank replied with a smile.

"What else did you arrange?" Vista asked, somewhat surprised.

"Heh heh! We're pirates, after all. Once we're in a pirate's den, do you think we can just leave so easily? Dream on!" Reina said, scoffing.

“Captain Vista, their cargo ship has been seized by us, so if they want to go to sea, they must buy our ships! I have provided them with three types of ships: a regular wooden boat, worth five million Berries! A small triangular sailboat, worth ten million Berries!”

"There's one last option: their own cargo ship, worth a billion Berries! Of course, I've already had everything emptied from the ship! They'll have to buy the supplies they need for their voyage separately!" Frank said with a grin.

"You...you're offering him their own ship for a billion Berries? How could he possibly buy that? He'd probably just buy a small sailboat, which would be enough for him to leave!" Bistan suddenly felt he couldn't understand his companion anymore.

"No, they'll definitely spend a billion to buy it! Because... the first mate only gave them half a month. If they can't raise enough money for the first mate's Bailey, then what awaits them... is the first mate's ruthless revenge!" Frank said with a sneer.

"Are you... demons?" Upon hearing Frank's explanation, Vista was so surprised that he couldn't speak.

He even felt a little sorry for Gibson.

"Hmph! He dared to attack our Whitebeard Pirates. Whether he's telling the truth or not, we have to teach him a lesson. We've already shown him a lot of leniency by not taking his life this time!" Reina said, curling his lip.

When Reina said this, the captains around him laughed. As for Whitebeard... he had already left. If it weren't for the fact that he was needed to step in earlier, he probably wouldn't have come out at all.

“But is it really okay to do this? The other party is one of the underground emperors!” Some members also expressed their concerns.

"The emperor of the underworld? We need him, he is the emperor. We don't need him, he's just fat meat waiting to be slaughtered! He knows this very well himself! So all he can do is play some tricks behind the scenes. Our real enemies are only the Navy and the other three emperors! Because only they can pose a threat to us!" Reina shook his head indifferently and replied.

At the port, after tearfully accumulating a debt of 1.5 billion Berries, Gibson finally received his cargo ship and enough supplies to leave the waters under the Whitebeard Pirates' control.

He originally wanted to go to the next island to replenish supplies, but he was afraid that something else might go wrong, so he decided not to stay in the Whitebeard Sea before leaving.

Only by leaving this place could he feel a sense of security.

Chapter 463 Lucian's Illness

Once Gibson returned to his own territory, he finally felt safe. On his own turf, he finally had the courage to criticize the Whitebeard Pirates and Reina.

"Sir, what do we do now? Are we still going to send those Beli to the Whitebeard Pirates?" Gibson's underling knew his boss was in a bad mood, but the matter was urgent, so he had to find out.

"Slap!" Gibson slapped his underling across the face, roaring angrily, "Give them away! Give them away my ass! Those damned Whitebeard Pirates, one day I'll make them pay!"

"Yes, yes, yes..." The underling who had been beaten quickly apologized and then prepared to turn around and leave, as he dared not stay there any longer.

"Wait..." Just then, Gibson suddenly spoke up again, saying, "Have someone prepare an equivalent amount of gold... no, let's just give it to Bailey directly, so they won't have anything to say! Once it's ready, send someone to Xuan Yue Island! Be polite!"

"Yes, sir!" The underling lowered his head, his face full of gloom, but he dared not let Gibson see it.

I asked him earlier and he said no, but now he's asking me to be nicer. From this, I can tell that Gibson can't afford to mess with the Whitebeard Pirates. Any talk of revenge is just empty talk.

These so-called underground emperors are not even in the same league as the Four Emperors.

After receiving the debt from Gibson, Reina happily put all the Baileys into his inventory. Ever since the doctor obtained the minerals, he had been constantly researching them, consuming a considerable amount of resources.

However, Reina heard that there has been some progress. At least the Dark Moon has been improved a lot. Once the Doctor has completely eliminated the toxins, Reina plans to go to Uzo to find Cat and Dog and bring back some Mink Tribe members.

Ah-Mao and Ah-Gou are Inuarashi and Nekomamushi, who boarded the ship with Oden back then. Now they are the kings of Uzo, so Reina estimates that it shouldn't be a problem for him to go and ask them for the people.

After leaving the warehouse, Reina hadn't gone far when he saw Señor emerge from underground, which startled him greatly.

"What are you doing here? Is Lucián feeling any better lately?" Reina asked, looking at the somewhat embarrassed Señor.

"Um... I'm here to help the Doctor get something!" Señor said somewhat awkwardly. "Lucian's condition has improved a lot. The island's doctor said that if he continues to rest, he'll soon be back to normal!"

"That's good. Call me when you're free, and I'll go with you to see Lucia!" Reina smiled and nodded in reply.

The Doctor is currently inside the Crescent Moon Island, doing something unknown. He has summoned Jozu, Binz, Vista, and others. Although Reina knows he is inside, he has no idea what they are doing.

Anyway, once the PhD student finishes his work, he will definitely tell him.

"Okay, thank you, Mr. Reina!" Señor quickly thanked him after hearing Reina's words.

Not long after Reina arrived home, Señor knocked on his door.

"So fast?" Reina was taken aback; he hadn't expected the other party to come looking for him so quickly.

Señor smiled somewhat embarrassedly. He had gone back to ask the Doctor for leave after getting his things, saying that Reina would help check on Lucian, and the Doctor agreed without hesitation.

The Whitebeard Pirates basically all knew about Señor and Lucian's situation. There was nothing they could do; no matter the weather, he would push Lucian out for a walk every day, and everyone could see how much he cared for her.

So even though he was a member of the Don Quixote family, everyone was still quite friendly to him.

"Let's go! Let's go take a look!" Seeing Señor's expression, Reina smiled and patted him on the shoulder, then led the way towards his residence.

"Huh?" As soon as he entered, Reina saw a woman in her forties wiping Lucien's body. It turned out that this was Señor's job.

"The Doctor recently needed my help with some things, and I was worried about leaving Lucian alone while I was away, so the Doctor asked Frank to send an older sister over to help me take care of Lucian!" Seeing Reina's surprised look, Señor explained with a smile.

“Ah! I see. That explains why you had someone take care of Lucian. But what’s the Doctor doing? It seems like Joz, Vista, and Binz were all called over?” Reina nodded and asked with a smile.

"The doctor plans to install thrusters on Crescent Island!" Señor replied with a smile.

"What? Thrusters? What does he want to do?" Reina, who was walking towards Lucien, immediately stopped, looked at Señor in a daze, and asked.

“I don’t know either, but that’s what the doctor said! He said that by then, Crescent Moon Island will be a ship, a ship that can move freely underwater!” Señor said with great emotion.

When the doctor found him, he told him what to do.

He was deeply moved by the doctor's trust, considering that he was no longer a member of the Whitebeard Pirates, yet the doctor had told him such a crucial secret.
