"These are much bigger than regular cherry pits. Did you drink that whole basket of cherries?" Abyss asked with a strange expression. "Looks like you had a big appetite before you were cursed... Hey, Flora, why is your face so red?"

"Ah...no...it's nothing..." Flora quickly turned her face away.

Leona glared fiercely at Abyss: "If you can't speak properly, then shut up! Now, is my curse lifted?"

Having just secretly confirmed that there were no scars on her stomach, Leona started worrying about her curse again.

“You’re probably alright now. The gem in your stomach just resonated with mine. I’m going to put them together and see what happens.” Abyss took the red gem from Leona and placed it next to the Eye of Fear. “My experience was bizarre. It seemed like some strange and powerful creature was trying to bewitch me, but I chased it away, though it might have been slightly injured. I’m very curious about this creature.”

"What kind of creature was it?" Leona asked curiously. "Was it inside my stomach before?"

“It’s more like… um… a hallucination, like some kind of powerful spiritual entity projecting its will into my mind. All I know is that this thing is wet and has thin, cold tentacles. It seems to be trying to take control of my body. I wonder if you’ve ever felt that way,” Abyss said.

“How disgusting.” Leona shook her head. “But I do feel that the gem in my stomach is vibrating slightly, as if it’s being pulled by something, wanting to go somewhere.”

“A powerful creature…” Flora suddenly fell into deep thought.

Abyss and Leona both looked at her. She was frowning deeply, head bowed in thought, clearly trying to recall something.

Flora pondered for a moment, then looked up and said, "Abyss, have you ever heard of 'extraterrestrial evil gods'?"

"Never heard of it. What is that? Doesn't our world already have nine gods?"

Abis tilted his head. Although he was knowledgeable, his knowledge was generally related to corpses or funerals. He had always been very unbalanced in his studies.

"About seventy years ago, a group of farmers reported a strange discovery to the Vatican—they found a strange creature in their dreams. This creature looked very bizarre, unlike any known animal, yet it was alive. It seemed to have no intelligence but had a human way of thinking. Whenever they fell asleep, it would appear before them, chanting eerie poems and transmitting terrifying knowledge to them."

Flora began to tell her story slowly.

“Whispers…I heard them too.” Abyss nodded quickly.

“Some of those who saw the terrifying creatures went mad. They killed friends and family who tried to communicate with them, offering their corpses as tribute to the unknown beings. They gathered day and night, chanting blasphemous prayers and gorging on filthy filth. Those who came to report were all escaped from the village,” Flora said gravely. “According to records, the Church used divine magic to calm these people seeking help, freeing them from the nightmare, and sent paladins to exterminate all the madmen, bringing the matter to a close. But afterwards, several of the priests the Church sent to the village to investigate the truth of the incident also went mad, shouting that they saw the future and saw the true gods.”

"What kind of magic is this? It's so powerful!" Leona asked incredulously. "Aren't priests of the Holy See only people with exceptional willpower?"

"What's so great about it? I can do it with a flick of my wrist..."

"ABCs, don't interrupt!"

"Fortunately, after the sacrifice of several priests and an entire squad of paladins, the source of the strange events was finally discovered. The Vatican discovered a strangely shaped scimitar. This scimitar possessed a special power that could corrupt the mind of its wielder, but at the same time, the wielder would gain the ability to travel between dreams. In dreams, the wielder would transform into a gigantic monster composed entirely of teeth, bewitching others to offer him tributes, which would ultimately turn into his teeth..."

Leona pouted: "It's like a horror story for kids."

“But the Vatican’s records don’t lie,” Flora said with certainty. “This knife is kept in a secret vault of the Vatican, and no one is allowed to touch it again. As for this unknown and powerful creature, the Vatican has named it ‘Extraterrestrial Evil God’ because it possesses power far beyond that of mortals, yet it is not among the nine gods of this world. Therefore, it is believed to be a deity from another world. As for their origins, purposes, and preferences, none of this is known. One thing is certain, however, that they cannot coexist harmoniously with humans.”

"So, our enemy is very likely a monster from another world?" Abyss was not alarmed at all; instead, he became happy.

“It could also be a group,” Flora corrected. “The monster you saw wasn’t made of teeth, was it? Since there are different kinds of monsters and cursed items, that means the ‘extraterrestrial evil god’ isn’t alone.”

"Wow, this is awesome! I'm so curious!" Abyss clapped his hands.

"Have some social responsibility, will you?" Leona said disdainfully. "These monsters could very well destroy our world!"

“Therefore, I suggest we set off as soon as possible, not only to deal with the threat posed by the tomb guardians, but also to find out the truth about the two gems in the Abyss’s possession and the ‘Hellish Face’ that Rainer spoke of!” Flora said. “Otherwise, more people may become victims of the extraterrestrial evil gods!”

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Abyss excitedly raised his hand.

"Don't even think about it! I'm still hungry! Roast that pig's leg for me now! Otherwise, I'll roast you too!" Leona angrily grabbed Abyss's belt, preventing him from leaving.

Pulled along by Leona, who possesses superhuman strength, even the most excited Abyss couldn't take a single step.

Chapter Twenty-Six: The Golden Griffin City

The planet Abyss is home to all civilizations that have developed and survived on a vast continent called Hay-Terver. In ancient languages, Hay-Terver means "shared by all things." On this continent, countless species have thrived and multiplied through many eras. Today, humanity is the undisputed ruler of the continent, and the seeds of human civilization have spread throughout it. The civilizations of ordinary intelligent races such as dwarves and halflings have been almost completely assimilated by humans. Only the proud and stubborn elves still retain a territory belonging to their own race.

Humanity is not a monolithic entity; years of conquest and alliances have resulted in the formation of numerous nations across the continent. Among them, the Western Empire and the Eastern Empire are the strongest.

The Eastern and Western Empires are collectively known as the Eastern and Western Minia Empires. Originally one entity, the Minia Empire's royal family, vying for succession, split into two parts during a civil war three hundred years ago. The one located in the northwest corner of the continent was called the Western Empire, and the one in the southeast corner was called the Eastern Empire.

Although the Minia Empire was split in two, and its power was also divided, both empires remained formidable forces that no other country could surpass. The two empires checked and balanced each other, each controlling the eastern and western parts of the continent respectively.

The country where Abyss is currently located, which is also the homeland of Leona and Flora, is the Western Empire. The Western Empire is economically developed, reveres chivalry, and is also the country where the headquarters of the Holy See is located. The Western Empire and the Holy See each hold a portion of the country's power. Although there are occasional disagreements, they generally cooperate well. The major cities of the Western Empire are very prosperous and full of golden age.

"This is the capital city—Golden Griffin City. I grew up here. Do you need me to be your guide?" Leona said proudly, pointing to the vast city before her. She had changed into a simple but well-fitting leather armor, and now that she had shed her burial attire, Leona looked much more vibrant. Her two silver ponytails were tied back with new gold hair ties. This was the first time Princess Leona, who had never shopped before, had made her own decision to buy something from a high-end clothing store—a very expensive purchase, befitting a princess's taste.

The city was quite large, more than ten times the size of the city where Abyss and Flora had previously rested. From the city gates, it was clear that the city was densely populated, with many caravans coming and going. Even in winter, farmers could be seen transporting fresh, out-of-season vegetables into the city—meaning that the economy was so prosperous that people could afford vegetables cultivated with magic and alchemy.

“I’ve been here a few times, always to give speeches to the believers.” Flora seemed to recall fond memories from the past, a satisfied smile on her face. “Everyone welcomed me very much, and the venue was packed. But unfortunately, I didn’t have a chance to wander around the city.”

"Hmph, I remember watching your speech, but I wasn't really into it." Leona patted Flora on the shoulder. "I don't care much about religious matters, but if I could, I'd love to challenge that God of Conquest."

"Shh, that's blasphemous..." Flora wanted to tell Leona to keep her voice down, but then she thought that since she and Leona were already the most hated undead by the Church, and the necromancer next to her whose eyes were wandering around had even been to the realm of the gods, it didn't seem like a big deal to blaspheme the Nine Gods now.

“ABC! How are you planning to get in? Don’t tell me you’re planning to drag me into your so-called Underworld again. I’ve had enough of that place!” Leona shouted at Abyss.

"Is there anything uncomfortable inside?" Abyss glanced at Leona, who, to express her firm will, clenched one fist and pressed it against her flat chest.

“I’m not feeling unwell. Your dragon is quite considerate, but I think that entering the city that way is no different from scaling the wall. It’s all sneaking around, and my chivalrous spirit cannot tolerate such behavior!” Leona shook her head, her two ponytails swaying back and forth. “I’m a princess! For a princess to sneak into the capital of her own country, my God, what a disgrace!”

"So how do you plan to get in?" Abyss shrugged indifferently. "I used the Underworld to move just to avoid scaring ordinary people. It's not that I'm afraid of anything. If you don't like it, then it's up to you."

"We'll just swagger in through the main gate!" Leona pointed to the towering city gate. "Think about it, we'll go in discreetly first, and then that official at the gate who's in charge of registering outsiders will definitely look down on us, obstruct us in every way, and demand bribes. At that moment, hmph, I'll reveal my identity as an imperial princess, and I guarantee that this stupid snob will be scared out of his wits and bow down in shame. Then we'll walk in with our heads held high and chests puffed out. Wouldn't that be impressive?"

"It's not a good idea to reveal your identity as a princess directly... after all, you're already dead..." Flora whispered a reminder.

"Your plan is as stupid as the intestines of a two-headed ogre," Abyss said expressionlessly.

"Damn it! I swear, if you use a two-headed ogre as an analogy again, I'll kick your ass with my boots!" Leona grimaced, but then remembered that she was already dead.

"Do you have any other items on you that are smaller in weight but can prove you are an imperial noble?" Flora asked again in a low voice.

Leona thought for a moment, clapped her hands lightly, and then held out her hand to the Abyss: "Give me the shoes I wore when I was buried."

Abyss then found a less conspicuous spot, summoned the magical catfish, and took out Leona's shoes. They were a pair of very luxurious leather high heels, inlaid with a circle of red crystals, and made extensive use of gold and silver sheets to create intricate patterns.

"These shoes have the mark of the Royal Workshop on them. I just need to pry off the mark and put it on the shoes I'm wearing now." Leona took the shoes, pried off two gold pieces, found the right angle, and slapped them onto her current leather boots. It actually looked quite convincing.

"go!"

Leona, along with Abyss and Flora, headed towards the gates of the Golden Griffin City.

……

The official in charge of registration immediately spotted the Abyss group walking together—two of them were dressed as mages, and the other was dressed as a warrior but was too small. Coupled with the beautiful faces of the two girls, it was hard not to notice them.

"You, come over and register. Where are you from?" The official immediately beckoned to Abis and his group, signaling them to come over.

“Okay, no problem.” Abyss obediently led the two girls to the official.

Before he could finish speaking, the official suddenly knelt down in a panic: "Your Highness! I'm so sorry! I didn't expect Your Highness to come in on foot! Please forgive my ignorance!"

“Wait…is there something wrong with this script?” Leona suddenly felt a strange sense of frustration.

Chapter Twenty-Seven: The Princess with a Wicked Temperament

The official, who was initially trembling with fear and kneeling on one knee waiting to be criticized, didn't hear any criticism from the three of them for a long time, so he mustered up his courage and looked up.

Leona didn't hesitate at all, and stood in front of him with her arms crossed, letting him examine her face.

The official's previously flustered eyes suddenly calmed down. He slightly opened his mouth, slowly stood up from the ground, gently patted his knees, sat back in his seat, and then slowly said, "Ahem, I hope you won't tell anyone about what happened just now. This silver-haired lady looks remarkably like Princess Helen; I mistook her for someone else. You don't have a pass and are not allowed to enter Golden Griffin City according to the law. Please show your valid identification and state your purpose for entering the city."

"Do I look that much like Princess Helen?" Leona asked, intrigued. "Did she have silver hair like me?"

"I don't want to talk about this anymore. If you don't want to enter the city, make way for the people behind you." The official was somewhat embarrassed and angry. Kneeling down to strangers because of a mistake in his eyes was a great humiliation for him.

"Tell us, we won't tell anyone else about this—if you tell us obediently."

Leona had lived in the palace since she could remember, and the people she interacted with were all important figures. Of course, she wouldn't show weakness in front of a lowly clerk who was probably being targeted by someone in charge of registering people entering the city. His attempt to hide his embarrassment only fueled Leona's playful side.

"You dare threaten me?" The official was incredulous, but he did indeed have a weakness that someone had leverage over him. He spat on the ground disdainfully and said, "That's right, I mistook you for Princess Helen because you look so much like her. You have the exact same silver hair as Princess Helen, and your features are very similar. The only difference is your green eyes. Princess Helen's eyes are blue. None of us dare to offend Princess Helen. She herself isn't scary, but her grandmother, the Empress Dowager, has eyes and ears that are always following the princess. If the Empress Dowager finds out we've been disrespectful, losing our positions would be the least of our worries."

"Shouldn't the emperor be the one in power?" Leona said bluntly, plopping down on the official's desk. "Why does the Empress Dowager have so much power? This is my first time in the capital, so please explain it to me."

“These things are inconvenient to talk about. If the Empress Dowager finds out, I’ll definitely lose my head.” The official was very unhappy with Leona’s questioning. “You’d better get off my desk, or you’ll never be allowed into the city.”

"Have you seen this before?" Leona ignored his words, raising one leg high so her boot nearly hit the official in the face.

The official, who was about to lose his temper at Leona's arrogant attitude, suddenly noticed the gold plaques adorning her boots.

This is a mark that only the imperial workshops could produce. The gold plate is inlaid with silver wire and has intricate patterns. This kind of craftsmanship is very difficult for ordinary people to imitate. And looking at the quality of the boots, they are not cheap goods from ordinary clothing stores. They can at least be said to have been bought from high-end clothing stores. Such a pair of boots can prove a lot—at least the silver-haired girl in front of me is not of low status.

“I am Princess Helen’s cousin, and the niece of the current Emperor Beos. With this identity, can I enter the Golden Griffin City?” Leona pulled her foot back and sat lazily on the table, cleaning her already clean toenails. “I was invited here secretly, and I hope you won’t tell anyone else.”

The official was immediately in a dilemma. He didn't know if the girl's words were true, but she had the same long silver hair as the princess, similar facial features, and the court workshop boots that indicated her high status made it impossible for him to refuse.

“Those two are my guards, two very powerful mages. Flora, give him a job.” Leona suddenly turned around and called to Flora.

Flora was suddenly pushed forward by Leona again. After a brief moment of surprise, she decided to cast a healing spell on the official on the spot and immediately stopped her: "Stop! Go cast your fancy spells somewhere else! This is a city gate checkpoint! Do you want the whole city to know? I'll let you through!"

"Why aren't you worried now?" Leona jumped off the table cheerfully. "Aren't you afraid we're bad guys who came to this city to cause trouble?"

“If you are bad people, I would advise you not to come into the city.”

The official wiped the sweat from his nose and shook his head at Leona.

"Oh? Is there anything special in the city?" Leona blinked.

"In recent years, the royal family has spent a lot of money to hire many high-ranking mages and warriors into the army, and has also funded the establishment of a mage organization called the 'Arcane Society,' which provides various guarantees for mages who join the society. Representatives of mages from various schools even have seats in the Imperial Council, and the headquarters of the Arcane Society is located in Golden Griffin City." The official tapped the table lightly. "The city is full of high-ranking mages. Anyone who dares to cause trouble here will probably be turned to ashes in the blink of an eye."

"Wow, that's really scary." Leona made an exaggerated expression of surprise, then looked back at Abyss and Flora. "You guys think so?"

“Yes, yes, yes.” Abis stared at the ceiling.

Flora was a little embarrassed, but she nodded nonetheless.

"Let's go, let's enter the city." The official realized that he couldn't communicate normally with this proud noble lady, so he waved his hand in a self-deprecating manner and let Abys and his two companions pass through.

……

"We could have just passed through, but you deliberately stayed there to bully them."

As Abyss walked into the Golden Griffin City with Leona, he spoke to her. He had originally thought Leona was just a simple-minded, silly girl in every sense of the word, but he hadn't expected her to be so cunning in a situation like this.

“I’m quite disappointed this time.” Leona said with her hands behind her back and a pout, “This wasn’t how I originally wrote the script. It was supposed to be that the official looked down on me first, then I would reveal my identity and scare him into apologizing. Who would have thought that this guy would kneel down as soon as we met, ruining all my plans? Of course, I can’t let him get away with this!”

This princess has a truly awful personality... Abyss has finally met its match.
