A voice, mingled with the sounds of thunder and water, rang in the ears of the three: "Mortals... submit to me... and I will grant you power..."

The sound came from all directions, bypassing the sense of hearing and pouring directly into Abyss's mind, causing his head to buzz.

Just how much power does this magnificent beast contain?

Abyss couldn't help but wonder what it would have been like if he hadn't thwarted the Council of the Dead's plans and allowed Him to successfully cross the world barrier and arrive at Hay-Tver.

Perhaps at that time, the nine local guardian deities will appear and wage war against Him. Needless to say, the mortal realm will be plunged into chaos and suffering. The Council of the Dead, having gained power, will surely retaliate against the Papacy and sacrifice countless souls to fuel their Lord's war.

Although the Abyss himself was a necromancer, he never had high expectations for other necromancers today. Ancient creeds had been abandoned, the original purpose of necromancy had been distorted, becoming protectors of selfishness and greed. Most necromancers today had become a different kind of person, a kind that disgusted the Abyss.

“You mean, you want us to be your slaves? What do you plan to give us?” Abyss asked loudly.

The dark cloud seemed surprised that the Abyss would ask again. It paused for a moment, then repeated, "Submit to me... and I will grant you power..."

“But we are not lacking in power, and we do not want the little bit of power you have given us.” Abyss spread his arms. “Before you are the most outstanding divine mage, the most powerful aura warrior, and the most formidable necromancer in the entire continent. Even without you, we can easily stand at the pinnacle of the world.”

The Lord of Depravity was immediately stunned.

He had never encountered mortals like this before. The mortals He met always craved great power, and would readily submit after a mere mention of the benefits of submitting to Him, seeking the power to dominate others. This deal was always easy: the Lord of the Fallen could fill his stomach, while the mortals could rule the world and provide more souls, forming a cycle that benefited both buyer and seller. As for the souls used in the trade, they were merely food to the Lord of the Fallen; He didn't care where they came from.

But these three people were not moved at all by his words. The one who seemed to be the leader even told him arrogantly that they disdained that little bit of power and that they could be invincible without power.

How can we continue this business?

"I can help you fulfill your other wishes..."

After pondering for a long time, the Lord of Depravity finally spoke again.

Abyss smiled with satisfaction and nodded: "That's right, that's exactly what I've been waiting for. I want you to help me fulfill my wish."

“State your desire…become my servant…accept my gifts…”

"My wish is to eliminate the creator god of my world and then take His place myself."

"..."

The Lord of Fallen fell silent once more.

Abyss wasn't in a hurry. He held the two girls' hands and stood there quietly, waiting for the slow-reacting behemoth's poor brain to finish processing this unprecedented amount of information.

Leona yawned. She didn't like dealing with people whose intelligence was lower than hers—even gods.

Flora faithfully fulfilled her duty, keeping an eye on the behemoth ahead, ready to awaken the Abyss and Leona at any moment.

"I cannot defeat the Creator God for you..." the Lord of the Fallen finally spoke after a long silence. "The Creator God's status is higher than mine; I cannot win..."

“Aren’t you a god too?” Abyss asked.

"The Creator God is the supreme god, possessing the highest power across the multiverse," the Lord of Depravity stated honestly. "My power also comes from the Creator God and can be taken away; therefore, I cannot fight the Creator God..."

“He looks so pathetic now,” Leona whispered to Abyss. “He was so arrogant just now, calling us his underlings, but now he’s completely chickened out. I think he doesn’t understand negotiation at all.”

“That’s just how simple-minded creatures are. They’re incredibly honest and straightforward, and they don’t know any tricks like pretending to be something they’re not,” Abyss whispered in response.

After experiencing a slight disappointment, Abyss made some unexpected discoveries.

This extraterrestrial evil god was likely originally the administrator of another universe, similar to the nine gods of Hay Tver. However, his mind was chaotic and his intelligence was completely lacking, unlike the nine gods of Hay Tver, who were all highly rational and skilled employees.

Was He always like this, or did He become like this for some reason?

"I can grant your other wishes..." the Lord of Fallen spoke again. He didn't want to give up this opportunity to make a deal; the three people before him were powerful and might provide him with an inexhaustible supply of food.

“Hmm…actually, I have another wish, which you should be able to fulfill,” Abyss said, seemingly having been prepared for this.

"...What is it?" the Lord of Depravity immediately asked.

“It’s very simple. I want you to become my servant—or more precisely, the servant of this lady beside me.” Abyss smiled and patted Leona on the shoulder. “Aren’t you just hungry? As long as you become her servant, you can eat your fill every day and never have to worry about food again.”

"Huh? Me?" Leona exclaimed in surprise. "What? You want a god to be my henchman?"

Chapter Seventy-Seven: The Arrogant Challenger

Since he could remember, the Lord of Depravity had never been in a state of confusion as frequently as he was today.

He was certain he hadn't misheard; the insignificant mortal before him had indeed spoken with the utmost sincerity, asking to be his subordinate.

What's going on? Has he gone mad? But the Lord of Depravity couldn't sense the madness of the little man in front of him at all. He spoke with reason, not venting his emotions or trying to liven things up. He was genuinely and earnestly presenting the proposal to himself.

To refuse to become a servant of a god is already an act of utter folly for a mortal, let alone to completely reverse one's position and demand that the god become one's servant!

“That’s impossible…” the Lord of Fallen immediately refused. His simple mind did not give him much thought, but simply gave him a negative answer.

Gods cannot be subservient to mortals, because the divine status is superior to that of mortals, and mortals have no right to control a god. Even if the Lord of Depravity is not very intelligent, he instinctively knows this truth.

“Don’t dismiss me so easily.” Abyss held up a finger. “Aren’t you hungry? Don’t you want to escape this situation where you have to trade with mortals for food every day? Or would you rather use that tiny hole in your mask to occasionally rummage through Hay Tver and eat something, becoming your pathetic wretch?”

"Because mortals are too weak to compare with gods, and their status is far too low..." The Lord of Fallen seemed somewhat tempted, but He still explained, "If I swear allegiance to you... then the world's corrective power will reduce your body to ashes..."

"How will you know if you don't try?" Abyss remained as relaxed as ever. "My survival is of no importance to you, is it?"

"..." The Lord of Depravity pondered once more.

Indeed, this arrogant mortal before us, even with his immense power, is still just a mortal, and his life or death seems truly insignificant.

The strong will always be born. The Lord of the Fall has no lifespan. In the endless years, He will always encounter a new strongman, perhaps stronger than the Abyss, or perhaps not as arrogant as the Abyss.

“I have a proposal you can consider,” said Abyss. “You fight us. If we can make you submit, you will become her servant, offering your power to her, and I will give you enough food. If we cannot defeat you, I will become your slave, offering you provisions without asking for anything in return. What do you say?”

Leona was slightly uneasy. When she first met the Lord of the Fallen, he wasn't that close yet, and she thought he was only the size of two or three dragons. But when she met him, she found that he was as big as the entire continent of Hay-Tver.

She thought the Abyss would choose to end the negotiations, let Flora bring everyone back to reality, and then figure out a solution later. But the Abyss remained confident and challenged her to a duel.

We must protect Abyss carefully in a moment; he has once again entrusted his life to our hands.

The Lord of Fallen was indeed moved by the Abyss. After thinking for a while, He replied, "I accept this wager because you cannot defeat me. The power of mortals has its limits, and no attack can harm me."

“Very good!” Abyss clapped his hands. “Then, let’s get ready—Leona, get ready, you are my great general. Flora, you also need to get ready, you are our last line of defense.”

"Understood!" Flora and Leona replied at the same time.

"We can begin."

Abyss nodded slightly.

Whoosh whoosh!

Before Abyss could finish speaking, countless tentacles from the Fallen Lord's enormous body swept towards him. These tentacles crackled with lightning, their density sending chills down one's spine.

There are at least several hundred million! Abyss immediately had a rough estimate when he saw the scale.

"Leona, use this sword!" Abyss shouted. Before Leona could react, a bone appeared out of thin air in her palm and began to grow rapidly, reaching several kilometers in length in the blink of an eye.

This is the result of Abyss using necromancy to release his Bone Armor spell on his familiars. Without the limitation of the size of the space, Abyss could even extend this weapon made of pure magic power for tens of kilometers if he wanted!

Leona now held a weapon in her hand. Although the weapon's length was astonishingly long, as the most talented aura warrior on the continent, she instantly found its balance. Her body suddenly erupted with dazzling aura flames, illuminating half the sky.

Immediately afterwards, she gripped the enormous super longsword with both hands, and her body spun rapidly under the propulsion of powerful battle aura! The orange flames instantly transformed into a giant wheel, and even though it was still tiny compared to the body of the Lord of the Fallen, she fearlessly charged forward!

Swish swish!

All the tentacles that attacked the three of them broke off as they passed the giant disc that Leona swung her sword at. Countless severed tentacles flew everywhere, writhing helplessly as they drifted out in the weightless space, having lost their connection to their bodies.

"Aaaaaah!"

Leona let out a battle cry, turning defense into offense. Propelled by her battle aura, she charged towards the Lord of the Fallen, leaving a long trail behind her. Her bone sword slashed repeatedly, severing many more of the Lord of the Fallen's tentacles.

Snapped.

Abyss, however, stood still, closed his eyes, and gently snapped his fingers.

Click click click!

The bone sword in Leona's hand grew in length again, extending wildly at an extremely fast speed. At the same time, it broke into many pieces. These broken pieces spun and flew everywhere, carrying Leona's battle aura, blooming into a beautiful firework on the huge surface of the Lord of the Fallen!

The longsword grew and broke, and the broken-off parts also grew and broke. The number of bone fragments flying in the air increased exponentially, becoming more and more numerous and denser, forming a terrifying chain reaction!

In just a few seconds, these bone fragments split into almost as many as the tentacles of the Fallen Lord!

Just then, Abyss opened his eyes. A blinding, ghostly blue soul flame flashed in his eyes: "Explode!"

Rumble!!!

The overwhelming explosion instantly engulfed the Fallen Lord's body. A powerful aura of destruction swept through the entire dream space in an instant! Extreme heat struck, and a layer of ice armor simultaneously appeared on the bodies of the three Abyss members. The ice armor hissed as it evaporated and then regenerated, resisting the terrifying heat.

An attack of this magnitude could destroy the entire continent of Hai-Tver in an instant, leaving not even a single insect behind!

Chapter 78 Sorry, I'm your equal now.

The explosions from the endlessly multiplying broken bones were continuous, wave after wave, their immense power sweeping across the entire space. This fierce and indiscriminate damage forced Abyss to use magic to defend against the aftershocks of his attack. The extent of the destruction he could cause when he was serious was revealed at this moment.

Leona now fully understood why the Abyss always seemed so nonchalant and relaxed—because there was really no one on the entire continent who could make him nervous. His overwhelming power made him virtually invincible. The reason he adhered to the principle of not killing, helped others, and tried to maintain stability in the world was not because he wanted to gain anything from it, but simply because he wanted to do it.

Because there is nothing in the world that leaves him helpless, he tries every means to challenge the gods and obtain the hard-won thrill. He is a true strongman; in his dictionary, there is no phrase "I have to do it," but rather "I want to do it."

No one forced me. There are countless ways for me to achieve my goal; I simply chose the one I preferred.

Leona couldn't even imagine the catastrophe such a person would bring to the world if he were to embark on the path of evil. No one could stop him, not even her or Flora. Leona hadn't forgotten that, if the Abyss, as their master, wanted, he could use her and Flora as slaves at any time, doing whatever they pleased.

Holding the bone sword, Leona waited quietly for the explosion caused by the Abyss to end.

After nearly ten minutes of continuous explosions, the dense explosions gradually subsided, and the light pollution caused by the raging magical flames dissipated, revealing the Lord of the Fallen's bald body to the three of them.

The countless tentacles that had lunged at them just moments before have now been blasted to pieces, with the broken tentacles scattered all around, drifting aimlessly.

"Did you enjoy the fireworks display?" After doing this, Abyss casually brushed non-existent dust off his hands and looked up at the Fallen Lord.

"You lost."

There was no hint of defeat in the Lord of Demise's words; He stated them calmly.

"Mortal attacks cannot harm me... The tentacles are merely a manifestation of my power, not part of my body. They can regenerate infinitely, but your magic cannot... I am the master in this space... Without external supply, your magic will soon be depleted."

As he spoke, the Lord of the Fall began to regenerate. From his shattered body, countless tender tentacles wriggled and emerged, then lengthened and hardened. Before long, the Lord of the Fall's body was once again covered with tentacles, even denser than before.

"You can admit defeat now... surrender to me... there's no point in resisting anymore..."
