"What's wrong?" Abyss looked into her eyes in confusion. "I don't remember having any white hair in your hair. The undead don't age, so why do you have white hair?"

“I don’t know either…” Flora seemed a little downcast. “After I returned from the palace in the Kingdom of Ossi, I felt a little unwell… I instinctively came to find you, wanting to spend more time with you…”

“Let me see.” Abis reached out without further ado and pinched a white hair at Flora’s temple.

However, the Abyss failed to pluck the white hair. The moment his fingers touched the strand, the white hair turned to pale ash and shattered instantly, leaving only a thin white mark on the Abyss's fingertip.

Abiston frowned immediately. What had the Lord of Nightmares done? Why did a strand of white hair suddenly turn to ash appear on Flora?

“Abyss… will you really stay with me forever?” Flora didn’t seem to care whether her white hair was normal or not. Her golden eyes looked at Abyss with longing. “I… maybe I’m just thinking about you too much… I finally realize that my feelings for you aren’t dependence, but love. I want you, Abyss, I want you to feel the same way about me…”

"I'm sorry... I'm still..."

"Please...love me, I can't live without you anymore." Flora grabbed Abyss's wrist, her voice trembling with tears. "I am a saint. While I was alive, I was forbidden from having relations with the opposite sex, and I was absolutely forbidden from falling in love with anyone. But now I am dead...after death, I can freely choose the person I love, and I met you...I don't want to miss you..."

Abyss frowned as he looked at Flora, not because her request was outrageous. If Flora really wanted him to be her lover, Abyss wasn't incapable of giving it a try, but there was something more important to deal with right now.

That is, as Flora became more and more excited, the white hair at her temples began to increase—the golden hair turned white one after another, and in just a few seconds, it directly dyed her temples gray.

"Flora, don't get agitated. Your hair is turning white very quickly, which isn't normal." Abyss grabbed Flora's wrist and reassured her, "Let me help you out of this danger first, and then we can talk about love. I promise I'll make you happy, okay?"

"Hmm... okay." Flora finally agreed, but her mood clearly turned dejected, and the light in her eyes went out.

Abyss touched Flora's white hair again, and those strands turned to ash without a doubt. Abyss pinched a bit of ash between his fingers and smelled it—it had no smell at all, as if it had never existed.

When Abyss shifted his attention from the smell to Flora, he discovered that one of Flora's arms was also turning gray.

"Abyss... I feel so bad... What did the Lord of Nightmares do to me?" Flora was also somewhat panicked. She softly chanted a prayer, trying to heal the abnormality in her arm with divine magic. The light of the divine magic shone, but her arm continued to turn grayish-white, and then this grayish-white color spread to her shoulder, neck, and face...

"Flora?" Abis was also somewhat taken aback. He stared blankly at Flora, as if he couldn't believe that Flora would fall victim to something that should have been safe.

What's going on? Abyss quickly used the magical link to check Flora's condition, but the link sent back a message that Flora had lost contact with Abyss.

"My necromancy failed?" Abyss stared in disbelief at her hands, then quickly looked at Flora. Flora was still looking at her with those beautiful golden eyes, but at that moment, one of her arms and half of her body began to fall ashen white ash... Having lost her connection with the Abyss, as an undead, she began to be banished by the laws of this world...

"Abyss... I'm sorry... I didn't tell you how I felt sooner... I'm sorry... I was too cowardly..."

Flora spoke through her tears, but as her vocal cords vibrated, cracks appeared on her neck and chin, and pieces of ash fell from them onto the Abyss's bed.

Then, Flora's voice disappeared. Her body finally collapsed, and a large cloud of white ash fell onto the bed with a thud, instantly deflated the nightgown she was wearing. The beautiful girl who had just been lying on the bed vanished in an instant.

"Flora!" Abyss's eyes widened as he reached for the clump of ashes, but there was nothing but ashes.

“ABC! ABC!” Leona’s voice came from outside the door at that moment. Before Abyss could react, the door was pushed open and Leona limped in.

"My body is acting so strange... I..."

Leona looked at the Abyss in panic, but before she could finish speaking, she too turned into a pile of ashes. Her clothes instantly collapsed, and her little leather boots rolled forward twice with inertia before stopping, with snow-white ashes spilling out of the boot openings.

Abyss checked Rebecca's condition using a magical link, but she too had lost contact.

"No!" Abyss cried out in despair, grabbing Flora's clothes. "I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have taken you on this adventure! I'm an idiot! Why did I do this?!"

But now no one responded to him; all around him was a deathly silence.

Then, Abyss raised his head.

"Are you satisfied now, Lord of Nightmares?"

No response came.

“You think I’d be afraid of this?” He suddenly laughed. “My dear Lord of Nightmares, there’s something you don’t understand, and I can reveal it to you—I’m not only arrogant, but also extremely confident. I have 100% confidence in my necromancy. My necromancy cannot go wrong. No one and nothing can make me doubt my necromancy, not even a god.”

He slowly got up from the bed.

“I know you’re trying to scare me by targeting my family, but the moment Flora walked in, I knew this wasn’t reality. It’s a pity that even though you know a lot, you still don’t understand me, Flora.”

Chapter Ninety: Absolute Confidence

"Oh? What about your Flora? Where am I on the defensive?"

The scene in Abyss's eyes shattered instantly, returning to darkness, and the voice of the Lord of Nightmares came from all directions.

"Just as you are unwilling to tell me your weaknesses, I have no intention of telling you mine. I know that although you have the means to see into the hearts of mortals, this is not your own home. If I don't tell you, you can't read my mind directly." This time, Abyss finally seized the opportunity of the Lord of Nightmares' curiosity, and of course, it would not give in to His wishes so easily.

"Hmph, I didn't expect you to tell me anyway." The Lord of Nightmares seemed to realize that the Abyss was using its own divine methods against it. "What's strange about you now is... don't you ever have any doubts? Mortals would have doubts, but why don't you doubt that your spell has failed?"

“I do have doubts, but I only doubt others, and only those I don’t know well,” Abyss said slowly. “As for myself, I’m sorry, I have never doubted my own power.”

"You're so confident? Do you remember that hero from another world I talked to you about last time? Although he was fearless, he also had doubts. I think that should be an essential attribute of mortals."

“Doubt is indeed a capacity possessed by all mortals, and I certainly have it too, but as I just said, I will not doubt myself.” Abyss gently patted his chest. “If you consider me a madman who has lost his mind, then you are sorely mistaken. Even if you have had a similar thought, I would not advise you to continue. I am very clear-headed; all my goals are based on rigorous and rational thinking. I understand perfectly well that I am fighting as a mortal against beings whose power far surpasses ours—or more precisely, beings whose power is incomparable to ours. Therefore, I must have one thousand percent confidence.”

The Lord of Nightmares stopped his sarcastic remarks to the Abyss and fell silent. But the Abyss could vaguely sense something ethereal slowly swirling around him.

"If I doubt even my own strength, do you think I'm qualified to challenge the gods? I think a person who always doubts himself can't accomplish anything great," Abyss asked calmly.

"Hmm... what you said does make sense." The Lord of Nightmares, unusually, did not refute Abyss. "Since you, as a lowly mortal, want to be an enemy of the gods, you must be prepared for the worst. Although your end is destined to be failure, I agree with your point of view. Rest assured, when I meet someone I like in the next world, I will tell him or her your story."

“Thank you then. However, after realizing I was in a dream, I also remembered my hidden plan. After pulling me into the dream, you also distorted my memories, didn’t you?” Abyss suddenly smiled. “Although you can control the flow of time in a dream, you can’t stop it. My plan should be taking effect soon, so I probably can’t stay with you in the dream any longer. I’ll say goodbye now.”

"Ridiculous! You think your girlfriends can help you? They're all asleep now, no one can wake you. Before your magic wears off and someone finds you, you've already been tormented a thousand times over in my dreams. I'm going to erase your memories now and give you a different experience..."

"Farewell, esteemed Lord of Nightmares, I must take my leave." Abyss grinned, his body suddenly fading in the dream before disappearing completely.

In the darkness, there was a long silence.

After a long while, the voice of the Lord of Nightmares finally rang out: "So that's how it is... As expected of you, Abyss Bellator. Now I crave your taste even more. I will surely taste the fear in your heart... No mortal is without fear, none!"

……

Abyss opened his eyes and immediately saw the moon in the sky—the moon's position had not changed, which meant that he had been pulled into a dream by the Lord of Nightmares. Even though he had been inside for several hours, in reality, time had not passed much.

"Fortunately... the timing was pretty good. A little earlier or later would have been very troublesome." Abyss sat up with a smile and glanced around. The Lord of Nightmares was right; his three servants were now lying on the ground, seemingly having been impacted by the Lord of Nightmares' power. Even though they were undead who didn't sleep, they had all been affected and fallen asleep.

But the three girls didn't stay lying on the ground. Flora was the first to let out a soft moan, her brows furrowing slightly as she opened her eyes. Rebecca and Leona followed suit, starting to move as well.

“Come on, let me help you up.” Abyss stood up and walked over, extending a hand to Flora.

Flora, who had just woken up, smiled, reached out and grasped Abyss's hand, and sat up with Abyss's help.

Abyss then walked over to the other two and helped Rebecca and Leona up from the ground.

"Rebecca, your method really worked! We achieved great results tonight, and you're the number one hero," Abyss said with a smile as he squatted down and addressed Rebecca, who was sitting on the ground tidying her clothes and hair.

“I was a little nervous,” Rebecca patted her chest lightly, drawing an envious glance from Leona beside her. “I’ve never faced an evil god head-on before, and I didn’t know if it would work. I didn’t expect you to take us out with you right after my successful experiment. It scared me to death. I think I had a nightmare when I suddenly passed out, but I don’t remember the details…”

“I had a nightmare too,” Leona said, sounding a little aggrieved. “But I’ve forgotten the details. I just remember feeling really desperate. Abyss, you have to take responsibility for us!”

"Yes, yes, I will make it up to you." Abyss clasped his hands together, begging for forgiveness.

“I’ve forgotten the details of the nightmare I just had.” Flora stood up and smiled at Abyss. “But when I woke up, with you by our side, I realized it wasn’t really a big deal.”

After saying this, she recited a prayer and cast a divine spell directly in the direction of Prince Kevin.

“That way, Kevin won’t take his anger out on these guards when he wakes up.” After doing all this, Flora turned back and smiled again. “I cast a calming spell on Kevin, so he probably won’t get angry so easily.”

“Well done, Flora.” Abyss gave Flora a thumbs up.

"What do we do now?" Leona asked curiously. "Is there nothing else?"

“It’s all over now. Let’s go back first. Once we’re back, we can discuss the successful completion of today’s plan.” Abyss patted Leona’s head. “And I also need to think of a way to make it up to you. I’m sorry for making you suffer with me.”

Chapter Ninety-One: A Special Magical Potion That Is Unlike Any Other

Before long, Abis and his party returned to the guesthouse without causing any disturbance.

The town of Shodo was quiet in the middle of the night. The residents, having worked hard all day, naturally had no energy to go out and make noise; everyone was sound asleep. When Abyss flew over the town on the little fire dragon, she noticed that the command post where Gylvia was located was still lit. Rebecca even went to check if she had gotten enough rest.

Fortunately, although Gylvia had her lamp on late at night, she wasn't working frantically. After drinking a potion to relieve fatigue, she sat quietly in her room, flipping through a book of poetry. Everyone was a little surprised that Gylvia had a love for poetry, but after thinking about it, they understood. This leader of the Restoration Army now spent most of her time in a state of high tension, with no time for hobbies. Now that she wasn't tormented by nightmares every night, she finally had the opportunity to engage in some relaxing and enjoyable activities.

The Lord of Nightmares had already stated that his plan was underway, and the Abyss couldn't possibly allow himself to remain completely oblivious. He summoned several undead ravens outside the command post to guard the vicinity. These ravens weren't intellectually enhanced by the Abyss, but they were very obedient to him, promptly informing him of any unusual activity nearby so he could devise a solution.

After doing all this, Abis returned to the guesthouse, satisfied.

The three girls didn't need to sleep that night. Instead of returning to their own rooms, they sat in Abyss's room with great interest, happily discussing Rebecca's methods.

"Rebecca, you're so smart! Before I met you, I thought ABCs were the smartest people in the world, but after meeting you, I don't think so anymore!" Leona didn't hold back her praise. "You actually came up with this way to deal with the Lord of Nightmares!"

Rebecca blushed slightly at Leona's praise: "It's nothing really, I just suddenly realized that potions can exist in more than just the form of liquids..."

In this operation, Rebecca naturally used the same potion she had obtained from the Alchemy Club that could store divine magic. After some experimentation, she finally obtained the most reliable formula for this potion, made some improvements, and had Flora try storing divine magic into it on the spot.

She did this not out of recklessness, but because she had asked the Nine Abyss Gods about their attitude.

After failing to control the Abyss, the Nine Gods adopted a hands-off approach to it, ceasing all interference in its actions so that it could help eliminate the extraterrestrial evil gods that had invaded Hay-Tvir.

Since they needed the Abyss, Rebecca deduced that they might be willing to turn a blind eye to Flora using this special potion to borrow some of her divine power. After all, the nine gods didn't interfere with the powerful magic Flora used, so why would they care if Flora delayed her use by turning some of her divine power into a potion?

Perhaps the Nine Gods would only call the Abyss over for a talk when the Abyss and his people were planning to sell these potions, but simply storing divine spells should be safe.

And so, with the Abyss's approval, Flora used divine magic on the potion, and with Rebecca's adjustments, it was truly successful. However, some extremely powerful divine spells failed to work; perhaps the Nine Gods were unwilling to lend Flora such immense power, allowing her to encapsulate it within the potion.

And so, Rebecca created a super-enhanced version of the fatigue-eliminating potion—using divine magic to completely remove a person's fatigue and awaken them. This effect also works on the undead, provided that the undead can withstand the actual damage from the divine magic.

After the potion was successfully created, Abyss suggested to Rebecca that he use it to go to the Ossi Palace to investigate the trees inside. That place must be the territory of the Lord of Nightmares, and if he went in rashly, he would definitely be attacked. In this situation, this magical potion with divine power is the only thing that might work.

But going like that would be tantamount to suicide. How could the Lord of Nightmares possibly give them the chance to drink the medicine on the spot? This kind of divine magic that clears fatigue and awakens the target can only work on people who are already asleep. If they are asleep after being attacked by the Lord of Nightmares, how could they possibly pick up the medicine bottle and drink it in their dreams?

But this problem inspired Rebecca, and she quickly came up with a new solution. She swiftly created a special capsule and, through some means, turned the finished potion into powder and filled it into the capsule.

In this way, the potion won't take effect immediately after entering the stomach, but will only become effective after the capsule dissolves. In other words, they can take the potion in advance, and it will automatically take effect after a certain period of time.

After adjustments, Rebecca precisely determined the time required for the capsules to melt in the stomachs of the human and the three undead in the Abyss, and then created the final product.

The Lord of Nightmares seemed to have not expected the Abyss to have such a trick up his sleeve. He naturally assumed that the Abyss's backup plan was to have Flora awaken him, and he even planned to surprise the Abyss by pulling Flora into the dream as well. However, the Abyss turned the tables on him.

“Rebecca, you don’t need to be modest. We all think you’re amazing this time.” Flora smiled and took Rebecca’s hand. “To be honest, I had a preconceived notion about potions before this. I thought potions were just liquids and never imagined the possibility of making them into capsule form. If you hadn’t broken through that mindset, we might still be at a loss.”

“I’m really excited to be able to help cause trouble for the evil god,” Rebecca said with a smile. “Following the Abyss is so exciting; I’ve never had such an opportunity before.”

"By the way, Rebecca, I've always wondered, what exactly are those strips you add to your potions?" Abyss asked curiously. "I remember the ancient recipe said to add..."

"Don't ask! Don't ask!"

Flora, who had been so elegant just moments before, immediately panicked. She reached out and covered Abyss's mouth, her cheeks flushed red as if they were glowing.

"...?" Abyss was surprised by Flora's sudden panic, but he obediently shut his mouth and didn't ask any more questions.
