"No mutation, psychosomatic pollution index 73, target identified as antisocial, execute shock dizziness mode."

Without hesitation, he pulled the trigger. The muzzle flashed with blinding blue electricity. Before their incredulous eyes, the young man was struck by the intense light, his body convulsing as he collapsed, black smoke billowing from his body. Before falling, he kept shouting, "A cover-up! A cover-up! I will expose the truth—"

"This part is off-limits. Cut it out, or you'll face the consequences." Another female police officer, her face as cold as ice, snatched the DSLR camera from the cameraman's hand without further ado. Faced with this persuasive argument, the cameraman and the reporter immediately and meekly deleted the precious footage they had painstakingly recorded.

"Phew, dealing with these brain-dead conspiracy theorists every day is exhausting," Nishino Sakumo said impatiently, waving his hand at the medical staff. "Take him away, next one."

The young man, foaming at the mouth and suffering from incontinence due to electric shock, emitting a strange odor, was crammed into the Anti-Suppression Bureau's "ambulance" along with the other injured. If he still has a chance to reintegrate into society, he might completely "turn over a new leaf," assuming that Heijing is not destroyed in two days.

"What are you looking at? Anyone else want to experience the feeling of incontinence?" Nishino waved his hand menacingly at the crowd, and the remaining citizens scattered like birds. Several plainclothes officers from the Anti-Smuggling Bureau suddenly appeared and intercepted them. Several professional swoops and tackles snatched their phones amidst their screams, pulled out the memory cards, and crushed them. Clearly, they were secretly recording videos.

Kurosawa Shizuki was also taken away by two agents from the Anti-Smuggling Bureau who were also police officers of the Metropolitan Police Department. Although she had now obtained the authorization code from Suzuki, she could, if necessary, reveal her identity to the two and enter the park to conduct an investigation.

However, she was still a highly classified unofficial agent, and it was best not to reveal herself to her "colleagues" in the Anti-Corruption Bureau. Kurosawa Shizuki had not forgotten what Suzuki had mentioned: there were also many spies from other cults within the Anti-Corruption Bureau. If they found out her identity as the Black Sun Cult's saintess and an undercover agent in the Anti-Corruption Bureau, the consequences would be unimaginable.

P.S. Regarding the settings of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, some references were actually drawn to Psycho-Pass. After all, this is the Anti-Corruption Bureau in the 21st century, so it should have a bit of a science fiction feel, haha.

Section 60, Chapter Sixty: What I Saw at Tama no Kami Park (Part 2)

After dispersing the unrelated people, the two anti-suppression officers walked along, chatting and discussing something, before turning back and heading deeper into the park.

Kurosawa Shizuki stood next to an advertising billboard across the street from the park. With a thought, a small ball of dark spirit material transformed into a black raven. At first, it flapped its wings somewhat awkwardly, but soon it slowly took flight and easily crossed the blockade line of the Anti-Suppression Bureau. No one noticed the inconspicuous bird.

Flying towards the artificial forest in the park where the two anti-counterfeiting bureau agents had disappeared, the area above the Jade Head Park was now almost completely covered by dark red smog. Kurosawa Shizuki had to fly very low to see the situation inside the park. Even when controlling the Black Raven with only a portion of her consciousness, Kurosawa Shizuki felt inexplicable anxiety and unease after entering the red fog.

The same stench, like that of a slaughterhouse, that I had sensed earlier through Yamanouchi's body, lingered here, suggesting that a large number of creatures had likely died here as a result of Muko's sacrifice.

Kurosawa Shizuki discovered that in just one day, most of the plants in the park had withered and died. The forest was deathly silent, with no signs of any small animals. Two anti-counterfeiting agents walked through the vast forest, and the only sounds in the suffocatingly quiet forest were their footsteps and voices.

Rat-a-tat-tat—! From the direction of the artificial lake not far away, such strange sounds would indeed be heard from time to time. They sounded like suppressed gunshots, and Kurosawa Shizuki could also hear the painful roars of some strange creatures.

They were clearly heading towards the artificial lake in Tamano-no-Kashi Park, all wearing helmets that appeared to have special technology to filter the air, and their voices were muffled.

“These ignorant mortals,” sighed the policewoman, Ishihara Ao. “Don’t they know what terrible truths are hidden in the dark side of this world, and they are still eager to explore all kinds of mystery and strangeness.”

“There’s nothing we can do. Curiosity is human nature. All we can do is try our best to maintain the peaceful and mundane material world in their eyes,” Nishino Sakumo said with a sneer. “Of course, if some people with excessive curiosity deliberately seek death, there’s no need to stop them.”

No sooner had the words left his mouth than another group of medical personnel in protective suits rushed over from the depths of the forest, carrying a stretcher. On the stretcher was a middle-aged man clutching his head, screaming in agony. His body reeked of decay, and his face was mostly unrecognizable, as if it had been damaged by some corrosive substance. His left eye socket was empty, constantly spewing red smoke: "What is that... my eye! Why can't I see anything!"

Without a word, a medical worker administered a sedative, and the middle-aged man's screams quickly ceased. His horrified right eye stared wide open on his contorted face. He wanted to say something, but he couldn't utter a word.

"What happened this time? How could he have barged in without taking any precautions?" Ishihara Ao asked, his thin eyebrows furrowed, with a hint of pity.

"A reporter from a private newspaper who was pursuing press freedom, nobody knows how he broke through the blockade, and ended up being parasitized by insects..." a medical worker replied helplessly, "He can only be sent to the cleaners to be dealt with."

“Ridiculous reporter, you’re willing to risk your life for a story,” Nishino Sakumo looked at the reporter as if he were trash. “Then don’t blame us for making you disappear ‘accidentally’.”

Ishihara Ao pursed his lips and said nothing.

The two continued walking towards the artificial lake. Various support personnel carried the wounded past on both sides. Among them were soldiers in full armor, wearing combat uniforms and helmets, anti-suppression agents in black, and many more ordinary citizens who had been accidentally caught up in the situation. Their bodies were covered with extensive signs of corrosion, with large chunks of rotting and decaying flesh exposed. Their bodies were being dissolved into red mist, which looked particularly shocking.

There were even many corpses that had been disemboweled, had their hands and legs severed, and some were transported away with only their upper bodies remaining. These corpses all bore various marks of being gnawed by unknown creatures.

The injured were uttering various delirious cries:

"Insects, insects everywhere!"

"I became the cornerstone of this grand feast, and even in its fragmentation, I find joy."

"Hahaha! Moth, how graceful her wings are..."

Along the way into the forest with the two from the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Kurosawa Shizuki saw at least a dozen dead and wounded being carried out. Such a tragic scene, could it really be that a war was being fought inside?

"So many living sacrifices have been buried at the bottom of the lake by the Divine Society. How many more Amethyst Insects will be born from them? How many more people will we have to sacrifice? This is too much! Those heartless lunatics of the Divine Society..." Ishihara Ao said, his voice trembling.

"In our eyes, they are undoubtedly madmen, but in their eyes, these are all necessary sacrifices for creating great achievements. Different perspectives lead to completely different conclusions." Nishino Sakumo's helmet was covered with a layer of water vapor.

"According to the intelligence department, at least two thousand living sacrifices have been transported to Heijō by the Shindai-kai within the past three months, solely to serve as 'side dishes' for Kiseki's devouring of the Chosen Ones. The Shindai-kai's apostles will devour the Chosen Ones at specific locations, and after being devoured, the Chosen Ones will be used as the core to activate Kiseki's spiritual field," he said slowly and deliberately.

“Each parasitized living sacrifice can give birth to at least five aliens. There are at least 10,000 adult insects in this spirit field. Even with the Radiant Blade Knights here, we can only temporarily suppress the insectoid infestation.”

"Why can't we contact the government and directly deploy large-scale modern firearms to level this artificial lake?" Ishihara asked fearfully.

"Do you really think that beings with a rank of at least the fourth level or higher can be eliminated by worldly weapons? This place has been almost completely transformed into an independent 'false history,' and most technological weapons would probably malfunction here. During the World War, some countries bombed Named Beings with nuclear weapons, but the high temperatures of those without rank could not harm the untouchable Named Being; they only made His anger burn hotter, becoming fuel for His boiling."

Watching in horror as more and more dead and wounded were carried out, Ishihara Ao seemed to have rarely seen such a horrific scene, and his face grew increasingly pale.

"If I survive this mission, I will probably never forget those nightmarish days for the rest of my life."

Nishino Sakumo, however, gave a familiar smile. "Ishihara, your experience is still too shallow. If you intend to continue working in the Anti-Corruption Bureau, this kind of scene will only be a minor one."

"You call this a small matter? The Pingjing Anti-Suppression Bureau has already mobilized almost all of its forces..." Shi Yuanqing said incredulously.

"When Wuquanzi truly descends to the divine in two days, you may witness with your own eyes a great being capable of threatening human history."

"Faced with such an existence, do we really have a chance of victory?" A look of confusion appeared in Ishihara Ao's large eyes.

"It's not a question of whether we can win, but that we can only win. We can't afford to lose, humanity can't afford to lose. If we lose even once, a completely new history will begin."

“If we really lose, Ms. Ishihara, you will never have to think about this again. Humanity will become a rejected race and be swept into the dustbin,” Nishino said with a mocking smile. “How to start a war of that level is naturally for the big shots above us to consider. We are just insignificant pawns, carrying out our own tasks, and that is enough.”

The two finally reached the edge of the forest, where they could clearly see the artificial lake, whose color had turned like red rust, with a continuous stream of red mist rising from its gloomy surface.

On a wooden dock by the lake, they found a tall man wearing a dirty detective's overcoat and a school hat. The man was staring blankly at the lake with a blank expression.

The two men straightened their backs and saluted the man, as if reporting to a superior: "...Reporting to the Minister, mission accomplished..."

The man hung his head dejectedly, exuding a melancholy and sorrowful aura. He emanated an incredibly dense, chilling aura, interspersed with bursts of light, indicating he was at least a fourth-tier being. Kurosawa Shizuki's crow dared not continue tracking him; getting too close would surely expose him. At this distance, Kurosawa Shizuki couldn't even see the mysterious man's basic character profile.

What's particularly striking is that this aloof detective was holding an adorable Akita Inu in his arms. While listening to two anti-crime officers report on their work, he would occasionally affectionately rub the Akita Inu's head, and the light yellow Akita Inu would also lick its owner's wrist with its tongue.

Both the adorable Akita dog and the tall, thin man stood completely unguarded in the dangerous environment shrouded in red mist. Did this prove that their status was high enough to be completely unaffected by the red mist?

P.S., it seems we've reached 1000 recommendation votes this week, so I'll release one more chapter. These chapters are transitional, so I'll release them as quickly as possible.

I'll probably be back to updating daily tomorrow. I really can't keep up with this kind of updating; it's too tiring.

PS2, the third day will be filled with many battles, it's a day of sudden change, after a few more chapters of setup we'll get to the main story.

Chapter 61, Section 61: She peeled off the human skin and raised the battle flag.

As Kurosawa Shizuki was secretly observing the man who appeared to be a high-ranking member of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, he seemed to sense her spying and, almost simultaneously, he and the Akita dog in his arms looked in the direction of the crow.

The Akita Inu's eyes shone with a bright light, and there seemed to be a rather human-like disdain in them? The man, however, simply smiled and nodded at Kurosawa Shizuki.

It seems he's an acquaintance of the original owner from the Anti-Suppression Bureau? Since he recognizes my dark spirit body, I don't need to worry about being attacked by the Anti-Suppression Bureau for the time being. Kurosawa Shizuki was slightly relieved.

Kurosawa Shizuki maneuvered the crow to fly low towards the source of all the strange phenomena, beginning to observe the Tamagami Park, which was now completely under the control of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, more comprehensively.

In just one day, the Anti-Suppression Bureau actually built a huge battle line here. A solid alloy wall surrounded the entire lake. The wall contained a strong forging power, the runes shimmered with a crimson glow, and the wall surface was covered with barbs and blood grooves. Even the severe cold from the lake would temporarily retreat on this scorching wall, and the red mist could not corrode the barrier.

At least a hundred fully armed soldiers were stationed simultaneously on the watchtowers between the walls and on other defensive lines. They all wore black gas masks, carried various strange firearms, and had alchemical inscriptions containing invisible magic visible on the barrels. They faced the rust-colored lake and stood ready, forming a crossfire network.

Every now and then, writhing, half-human, half-insect, hairy, terrifying creatures would emerge from the lakebed in waves, emitting mournful, song-like cries, as they charged towards the defense line. They scaled the iron walls with incredible speed, wielding their dark, curved claws at the soldiers; their backs only had a pair of half-exposed fleshy wings, barely enough to support their gliding. But most were repelled by the defense line's bullets imbued with invisible magic, surging forth like a tidal wave and falling like raindrops. Currently, the creatures lurking at the lakebed seemed to be within the range of being repelled by conventional firearms; those falling back into the lake would quickly corrode and decompose, broken down by the red mist.

Occasionally, a few dark blue, half-human monsters would appear among the monsters, spreading their four pairs of shimmering moth wings. Their cries had a singing rhythm, and their movements were as graceful as a dance. They would gracefully soar through the hail of bullets, their dark blue carapaces bouncing off the bullets. Just when Kurosawa Shizuki thought they would break through the Anti-Extermination Bureau's defenses, several elite Anti-Extermination Bureau agents, clad in heavily armored, technologically advanced suits of armor, charged towards the blue insectoids in a flash of light. Scorching steam erupted from their backs, lifting them into the air. Incredibly sharp scythes extended from their arms, flowing with dazzling light. Their bodies hummed with the sound of springs turning, and with a few slashes, they chopped the insectoids, who were at least in the second stage, to pieces.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau actually has such advanced technology? Kurosawa Shizuki could hardly believe what she was seeing. Was this some kind of futuristic warrior wearing an armored exoskeleton?

Behind the walled defenses, dozens of white-robed anti-suppression bureau personnel, each wearing a small round mirror on their chest and an unusually smooth mask without facial features, seemed to form some kind of peculiar, invisible ritual formation. The shape of the formation vaguely resembled a bright lamp.

Accompanied by the chanting of incantations, the incredibly brilliant sunlight falling from the sky formed a strange, giant eye in mid-air, radiating a dazzling light like the sun. The radiance burst forth from the eye, and the beams of light repeatedly refracted on the round mirrors on the chests of dozens of white-clad figures, forming a radiant cage that enveloped the entire rust-colored lake. The red mist containing the ovaries of amethyst worms that spread from the lake's surface could not pass through the cage and spread to a wider area.

The crimson blood mist collided repeatedly with the brilliant light barrier, producing a series of muffled explosions. Cracks appeared on the light barrier but quickly healed, while the suppressed crimson mist dissipated and then condensed again, wave after wave crashing against the light barrier like ocean tides.

The Anti-Suppression Bureau is using the power of the glow to suppress the influence of the restless mist springs at the bottom of the lake.

Maintaining this light barrier seemed incredibly energy-consuming. Occasionally, the mirrors on the chests of the white-clad members of the Anti-Extermination Bureau would shatter, and these individuals would clutch their bleeding eyes, letting out desperate screams. Their eyes appeared to be burned by the excessively bright light, and they could only be carried away by support personnel. However, for every one who fell, another Anti-Extermination Bureau operator would don a white coat, hang a silver mirror on their chest, and take their place to continue chanting the incantation. There were hundreds of white-clad operators waiting in the vicinity. Yet, it was clear to everyone that they would eventually be exhausted. Even the light barrier itself was already teetering on the brink of collapse.

The black crow, imbued with Kurosawa Shizuki's consciousness, circled above the lake, no longer daring to fly low and approach the surface. Both the red mist suppressed by the Anti-Suppression Bureau and the Radiant Barrier set up by the Anti-Suppression Bureau were quite dangerous in Kurosawa Shizuki's perception. If her black crow got close, it would probably not have a good ending. There was no need to have any direct conflict with them now.

What Kurosawa Shizuki truly wanted to confirm was the source of all this crisis: where did those strange insectoids and the highly poisonous red mist come from, and what sinister scheme Muko had laid here?

As Kurosawa Shizuki's crows had almost reached the very edge of the safe zone, if they flew any lower, they would probably be burned to ashes on the light barrier like the red mist.

However, Kurosawa Shizuki could barely make out what was in the very center of the artificial lake—the source of all the strange creatures, the rampant red mist, and the lingering chilling aura.

At the very center of the artificial lake, there stands a towering, fleshy red tree, gracefully spreading its branches and leaves across the heart of the lake. Strings of fleshy cocoons hang from the branches, each a bright red and sweet fruit, beating like a heart. Within the translucent cocoons, the body of an insect-human, who is sleeping with its knees drawn up, gradually takes shape.

From the flesh tree, a continuous stream of eerie songs, ancient sacrificial chants, filled with an aura of fanaticism, ignorance, and chaos, emanated.

Mature cocoons fall continuously into the artificial lake, from which insectoids of various colors hatch. Born with a primal and cruel bestiality, they charge fearlessly toward the outside world.

From her vantage point, Kurosawa Shizuki could see very clearly that at the very top of the tree canopy, there was a human upper body that was barely visible, almost completely integrated with the eerie fleshy tree.

It was actually a human skin fluttering gently in the wind, filled with pustules and blood mist inside, giving one the strange impression that the skin's owner was still alive...

Kurosawa Shizuki recognized the human skin at first glance. Although the person was completely naked, she could not possibly forget who the human skin once belonged to!

Deep red lymph fluid continuously flowed from the cracks all over the human skin. Her pale and sickly face was inflated by blood-red mist, as if she were still showing a twisted smile even after death.

Her eye sockets didn't contain eyeballs; only blood-red mucus was constantly flowing, yet she could still sing.

She was constantly singing that evil ballad praising Kirie, venting her curses and resentment to the whole world.

The fourth Chosen One, devoured by Muko, was the nun named Livia who had once met Kurosawa Shizuki! Now, only a human skin remains of her, she has almost merged with that strange, blood-red giant tree, constantly nurturing Mizuki's familiars and spreading a deadly red mist towards Heikyo!

Anything that gets close to her will likely be indiscriminately corrupted by the red mist and transformed into the ovaries for cultivating amethyst worms! Even with the power of the Anti-Suppression Bureau, they dare not launch an attack on her rashly at present, but can only suppress and block her for the time being.

The status that Muko forcibly bestowed upon her was already infinitely close to that of an immortal. If Kirie is truly reborn as a god and returns to the world, perhaps she will also ascend to become a true named being.

Just like Matthias, who was skinned alive by Apollo.

If I were to be devoured by Kirie, could I become something like that? Kurosawa Shizuki felt a chill run down her spine. But if she were to completely submit to Kirie and accept this divine favor to become a Named Being, perhaps that wouldn't be so bad? To leap up to the same level as her great enemy.

Kurosawa Shizuki shook off this absurd thought from her mind. Was the person with the name but a mere skin still herself? Perhaps she had long since completely lost her self-awareness and become a puppet controlled by the gods. To become such a flawed person with the name was truly worse than death, to suffer eternal pain and torment.

P.S., I've been writing the later battle sections these past few days, and I'm not satisfied with anything I do. Either it drags on too much, or it's handled too hastily. Ugh, it's a real headache. I haven't fully mastered the art style for this book yet.

Section 62, Chapter Sixty-Two: Ando's Request

With the black crows no longer able to be controlled to approach the particularly intriguing scarlet tree for further investigation, it seems unlikely that any further information can be obtained without personally entering the park.

Kurosawa Shizuki was certain that the flesh tree was in a very unstable state, and if she, as a fellow chosen one, were to approach it rashly, no one would know what kind of danger would occur.

The original body, who had been standing at the street corner staring blankly at the park sculpture, had already attracted the attention of the anti-counterfeiting bureau operators across the street. Kurosawa Shizuki noticed that several operators had lowered their hats and walked towards her, intending to question her.
