"Then don't blame me for being impolite!" the monster said, lunging at Lin Yaoxie.

Lin Yaoxie was also short-tempered, and he picked up the Thunder Axe and started fighting with the monster.

"You beast, stop right now!" At this moment, Taiyi Tianzun, who had rushed over from a distance, said to the monster.

Upon seeing Taiyi Tianzun, the monster immediately stopped its attack, revealed its true form, and was summoned by Taiyi Tianzun to the five-colored clouds.

“Young Master Lin, this lion was originally my mount. It was my servant who secretly drank some wine and got himself drunk, which gave this wicked beast the opportunity to descend to the mortal realm and cause trouble for you, Young Master Lin. I am very sorry for the trouble!” The Crown Prince Celestial Venerable said sincerely to Lin Yaoxie.

Lin Yaoxie originally wanted to kill the monster, but now that he heard Taiyi Tianzun say that, he was too embarrassed to do it.

"Keep an eye on your mount and don't let it wreak havoc on the mortal realm again." Lin Yaoxie said this before entering the cave. Meanwhile, Taiyi Tianzun also returned to the Heavenly Court with his mount.

Soon, Lin Yaoxie found Tang Sanzang and his companions.

"Master, let's hurry up and leave. That monster has already been subdued," Lin Yaoxie said to Tang Sanzang.

So the group hurried back to the palace. Upon their return, the King of Yuhua Prefecture was very grateful to them for ridding their country of disease and gave them a lot of silver to use on their journey.

Lin Yaoxie and his companions kept their promise and taught their skills to the three princes. They stayed there for a few days before leaving, as they had been away for far too long.

We need to speed up our trip.

After bidding farewell to the King of Yuhua Prefecture, Tang Sanzang and his disciples continued their journey westward.

One day they came to a village, where everyone looked sickly. Lin Yaoxie went up to one of the villagers and asked him a question.

"Why do you all look like this?" Lin Yaoxie asked the villagers.

"You may not know this, but a few years ago a doctor came to our village. I heard that his medical skills are so good that he can bring people back from the dead, and some people have already tested it themselves. So ever since then, whenever anyone in the village has any illness, they go to that doctor to treat them," the villager replied to Lin Yaoxie.

"If that's the case, then why is everyone still acting like this?" Lin Yaoxie continued to ask.

“Oh dear, that’s exactly what I wanted to tell you, benefactor. At first, the doctor was very effective in treating people, but later on, the people would become weaker and weaker, and we didn’t know why. So no one dared to see him anymore. But when the doctor saw that we weren’t seeing him anymore, he kidnapped all the children here to threaten us. We had no choice.”

As the people spoke, they finally lost control of their emotions and began to cry.

Chapter Seventy-Nine: First Encounter with the "Healer"

"Don't cry, benefactor. Let me find out what's going on!" Lin Yaoxie comforted the people.

Perhaps the commoner suddenly remembered something, and looked at Lin Yaoxie with suspicion.

"We are monks from the Tang Dynasty in the East, on our way to the Western Paradise to obtain Buddhist scriptures. We are passing through this place and would like to ask for lodging for the night," Lin Yaoxie explained to the old man, as if he had guessed what the old man was thinking.

After hearing Lin Yaoxie's explanation, the old man thought they must be good people, so he took them back to his home.

"Old woman, I've brought a high-ranking monk with me. We'll be saved from now on," the old man said to his wife.

The old man's wife was so excited when she heard what he said that she almost knelt down to kowtow and thank them, but Lin Yaoxie was quick enough to stop her.

“You eminent monks must be hungry after your long journey. I’ll go and prepare a vegetarian meal for you right away,” the old man’s wife said to Tang Sanzang and his companions.

While the old man's wife was cooking, Lin Yaoxie took Sun Wukong out to the street. He wanted to figure out what was going on, so he first needed to understand everyone's situation.

They went around in circles and returned to the old man's house. After this experience, they came to a conclusion: everyone looked healthy, but they lacked vital energy, which made them look weak. It seemed that the doctor had absorbed their vital energy, which was why they looked like this.

However, the doctor was clever; he didn't drain the blood all at once, but rather gradually absorbed it, day by day, until the people became dependent on him.

Soon, the old man's wife prepared a vegetarian meal. After they ate, they let Tang Sanzang rest, while Lin Yaoxie took Sun Wukong to the nearby woods.

"Wukong, summon the local earth god. Let's ask him what's going on," Lin Yaoxie said to Sun Wukong.

Soon, Sun Wukong summoned the local earth god.

"Oh dear, Great Sage, what do you want? I was sleeping and you woke me up," the local earth god said reluctantly.

"You old earth god, you're sleeping so comfortably, you even have the mind to sleep! Do you know that the land you're in charge of is about to descend into chaos?" Sun Wukong said to the earth god.

The local earth god became nervous upon hearing Sun Wukong's words. If Sun Wukong had said such a thing, something must have happened. So he started calculating with his fingers and soon got the result.

“There’s a monster in that cave on Mount Ling that sucks people’s vital energy. The people around here have almost all been drained by it, and I only just discovered this. What a mistake!” the local earth god said to himself.

"Then do you know where the monster is now?" Lin Yaoxie asked the Earth God.

"That monster opened a clinic in the village, near the family where you stayed, called Yixiaotang," the Earth God replied to Lin Yaoxie.

After listening to the words of the local earth god, Lin Yaoxie walked towards the clinic.

"Hey, Senior Brother, slow down and wait for me!" Sun Wukong shouted to Lin Yaoxie from behind.

"If he hadn't eaten something bad and had diarrhea for several days last time, he would definitely have been able to catch up with Lin Yaoxie," Sun Wukong thought to himself.

Soon, Lin Yaoxie entered the clinic and met the legendary divine doctor. The doctor was taking someone's pulse, and Lin Yaoxie immediately recognized him as a demon.

Chapter 80 The Plot is Exposed

So Lin Yaoxie stood at the door, queuing behind the others, wanting to see how this monster treated people.

Soon it was Lin Yaoxie's turn. He sat down, stretched out his arm, and was about to let the demon take his pulse.

The demon remained calm despite Lin Yaoxie's appearance.

"May I ask what ailment this patient needs to see?" the monster asked, touching Lin Yaoxie's pulse. Lin Yaoxie felt his pulse suddenly quicken, as if something inside his body was about to burst out.

"Oh no!" he cried out in his heart, and immediately withdrew his hand, thus preventing the monster from succeeding.

It turned out that this monster absorbed other people's vital energy by taking their pulse. When Lin Yaoxie realized this, he swung his axe at the monster. Everyone who saw this was startled and screamed as they ran out of the clinic.

The demon realized Lin Yaoxie's power at this moment, otherwise he would have succeeded. He knew from Lin Yaoxie's pulse that Lin Yaoxie's true energy was very strong, which would greatly help his recovery. That's why he was too anxious and revealed his weakness.

But it's too late to say anything now; he can only prepare a course of action.

The monster turned and fled. Lin Yaoxie, seeing that the monster had escaped, did not chase after it, but took Sun Wukong back to the old man's house.

"Holy monk, do you have any way to heal us? Once healed, we can fight against that evil man," the old man pleaded with Lin Yaoxie.

Lin Yaoxie couldn't refuse the old man's offer, so he agreed. After speaking, Lin Yaoxie went to the Heavenly Court and went to Laozi to ask for the elixir.

No sooner had the evil spirit Lin left than the monster secretly arrived at the old man's house.

It turned out that after he returned, he heard from his subordinates that a monk had come from the Tang Dynasty in the East. It was said that eating his flesh could grant immortality. So he recalled what had happened in the clinic earlier and realized that Lin Yaoxie must be his disciple. Therefore, he took advantage of Lin Yaoxie's absence and quickly came here.

He transformed himself into a beggar and knocked on the old man's door. At that moment, Tang Sanzang was chanting scriptures in the courtyard.

"Elder, I haven't eaten for days. Please have pity on me and give me some food," the demon said to Tang Sanzang.

Tang Sanzang was a monk with a compassionate heart. How could he refuse someone asking him for help? So he told the beggar to wait a moment and got up to go to the kitchen.

Soon, Tang Sanzang took out a bowl of rice and gave it to the beggar that the demon had transformed into.

"Amitabha, please eat quickly," Tang Sanzang said to the beggar.

At this moment, the beggar quickly took the bowl from Tang Sanzang and blew on it, causing Tang Sanzang to faint. The demon then seized the opportunity to capture Tang Sanzang.

Meanwhile, Lin Yaoxie had already obtained the elixir from Laozi and was on his way back. When he arrived at the old man's house, he found only a bowl of broken rice on the ground, so he called Sun Wukong and the others.

"Where is Master?" Lin Yaoxie asked the group.

"Master was just chanting scriptures here a moment ago, and he told us not to disturb him. We just went inside to take a nap, and now he's all gone," Pigsy blurted out.

"You idiot, Master has definitely been captured by a monster!" Sun Wukong shouted at Zhu Bajie again.

Chapter 81 Infiltrating the Enemy's Interior

Now that things have come to this, they all realize that Tang Sanzang has been captured by a demon, and which demon it is must be the doctor they saw today.

Seeing that Tang Sanzang had been captured by the demon, Lin Yaoxie didn't bother to give the old man the elixir. He immediately led Sun Wukong to the demon's cave.

"Monster, since you've transformed into a healer, you should know the rules of a healer. Now you've not only caused half the lives of the people in the city to be lost, but now you're trying to harm my master. I think you'd better release my master as soon as possible, or Grandpa Lin will make you regret it!" Lin Yaoxie shouted loudly at the cave entrance.

Lin Yaoxie then made his move, swinging his golden cudgel and striking the monster's cave entrance squarely, instantly leaving it battered and bruised. And let's not kid ourselves, Sun Wukong's golden cudgel isn't just for show.

Hearing the loud noises outside, the monster was afraid that Lin Yaoxie and his men would cause trouble, so he quickly led his men out of the cave.

When the monster arrived at the cave entrance, he saw that, as expected, the entrance to his home had been destroyed by Sun Wukong. The monster became furious and started fighting with Lin Yaoxie and the others, resulting in a scene of two people fighting against a group of people.

Sun Wukong was mainly responsible for dealing with the lesser demons, while Lin Yaoxie fought against the monsters alone. Soon, Sun Wukong had defeated most of the lesser demons, so they came to help Lin Yaoxie.

But to the surprise of both Sun Wukong and Lin Yaoxie, as soon as Sun Wukong arrived, the demon seized the opportunity to grab his wrist and drag him into the cave. As a result, they failed to rescue Tang Sanzang and ended up losing Sun Wukong as well.

Lin Yaoxie was furious at the sight, so he rushed back to the old man's house to think of another way. When he arrived at the old man's house, he remembered that he still had the elixir given to him by Laozi.

So he quickly gave a portion of the medicine to the old man and his wife. He planned to distribute the elixir to others after rescuing his master. With that thought in mind, Lin Yaoxie went out again.

This time, he brought Pigsy and Sandy with him to the monster's cave.

When they arrived at the cave entrance, the three of them transformed themselves into ordinary people and claimed they wanted to see a doctor. They knocked on the monster's door.

"Old sir, we went to your clinic, but you didn't open it. We found out your home was here after asking around, so we came here hoping you could help us treat our illness," said Lin Yaoxie, the leader.

The monster heard people talking outside the cave, and that they were people who had come to see a doctor, so it quickly transformed into a human and went out.

"Oh, so you're patients. I'm so sorry, I've been busy these past few days and that's why I haven't been to the clinic. Why don't you come to my house and I'll treat you?" the monster said to the three of them.

The three of them wanted to go into the monster's cave to find Tang Sanzang and Sun Wukong, so they followed the monster into the cave without hesitation.

After they entered the cave, they found Tang Sanzang and Sun Wukong tied to the wall, unconscious.

"Don't be afraid, everyone. They are bandits I encountered in the mountains. They wanted to steal my medical supplies and almost killed me. Fortunately, I know some martial arts, so they didn't harm me!" the monster said to the three.

Chapter 82 I am your Grandpa Lin

“Yes, things have been unsettled in the mountains lately. You must be careful, sir. If something happens to you, who will treat us?” Lin Yaoxie chimed in.

When the demon heard Lin Yaoxie say this, he assumed they really believed him, so he asked them to sit down and took their pulses.

"Why not take advantage of a free lunch? After I've absorbed all their true energy, I'll bury them in that desolate wilderness. Anyway, no one will know," the monster thought to himself.

The monster reached out to feel Lin Yaoxie's pulse, but unexpectedly, all three of them revealed their true forms at the same time, startling the monster.

"Who, who are you?" the monster exclaimed in shock.

"I am your Grandpa Lin!" Lin Yaoxie said to the monster.

The demon was afraid of the three of them, after all, his subordinates had been killed by Sun Wukong, and now he could only fight against the three of them alone. Soon the demon was defeated.

In the end, Lin Yaoxie and his companions killed the monster and rescued Tang Sanzang and Sun Wukong.

They escorted Tang Sanzang back to the old man's house, and then distributed the miraculous medicines that Lin Yaoxie had brought to the people. The people were saved and came to thank Lin Yaoxie and his companions for not only killing the monster but also curing their illnesses. They invited them to their homes as guests.

And so, Lin Yaoxie and his companions went from house to house for meals every day until they left the village after half a month and continued their journey westward.

After all these events, Lin Yaoxie and his companions realized one thing: ideals are lofty, but reality is harsh. They were eager to reach the Western Paradise and obtain the true scriptures, but the various events along the way left them with no choice. So they saw reality clearly and stopped being in a hurry.

Autumn passed and winter came; they had endured another autumn and arrived at the cold winter. Winter is a season for eating persimmons.
