"Young Master Lin, please stop!" Lin Yaoxie followed the voice and found that it was Guanyin Bodhisattva.
"Guanyin Bodhisattva, what brings you here? What brings you here? I'll tell you after I kill this Ghost Fire Immortal," Lin Yaoxie said to Guanyin Bodhisattva.
0oo is asking for flowers.....
"I came here specifically for this Will-o'-the-Wisp Immortal. His resentment is too heavy; I am willing to remove his malevolence and take him as my disciple, so that he may have a good future." —Guanyin Bodhisattva
Sa said to Lin Yaoxie.
After Guanyin Bodhisattva finished speaking, she took the weeping willow and gently patted the will-o'-the-wisp spirit's shoulder. The spirit's eyes immediately changed, and he truly became a different person.
0 ....
"How did I get here?" the Will-o'-the-Wisp Immortal asked.
It turns out that after being assimilated by Guanyin Bodhisattva, the Ghost Fire Immortal became just like Pigsy back then, forgetting what he had done during that time. However, this was a good thing for him, at least he wouldn't suffer so much.
"Guanyin Bodhisattva, what should we do with these people?" Lin Yaoxie asked again.
"I can only make them forget what happened during this time. As for their greed, I cannot control it," Guanyin Bodhisattva explained to Lin Yaoxie.
Lin Yaoxie knew that Guanyin Bodhisattva would do her best, so she didn't ask for anything more.
Chapter 107 Everyone Awakens
After Guanyin Bodhisattva finished speaking, seeing that Lin Yaoxie had nothing else to say, she went to the cave entrance and sprinkled some water from her jade bottle in front of it. Immediately, everyone there changed.
"How did I get here? Shouldn't I be at home?" one of them said, and the others echoed him. They didn't see Guanyin Bodhisattva and Tang Sanzang in the distance, so they all went back to "490's" home.
Seeing that the people had all gone back, and that Guanyin Bodhisattva had taken the Ghost Fire Immortal back to her place of cultivation, Lin Yaoxie and his group were sure to continue their journey westward.
They walked and walked, and finally came to a temple. By this time, Tang Sanzang and his companions were exhausted, so they entered the temple, thinking they would rest there for the night.
When the abbot of the temple saw them coming and noticed that they were carrying a lot of luggage, he wondered if they were monks who had come from afar.
"May I ask where you come from, Master?" the abbot of the temple asked them.
"Amitabha Buddha, this humble monk is Tang Sanzang from the Great Tang Dynasty in the East, on his way to the Western Paradise to obtain Buddhist scriptures. Today, I am passing through this place and feel quite tired, so I would like to ask to stay here for the night. I apologize for troubling the abbot," Tang Sanzang said politely to the abbot of the temple.
"Elders, please don't be so polite. We have long heard that you went to the Western Paradise to obtain the scriptures in order to contribute to the country. The journey must have been very arduous. Please come in, elders." The abbot said as he led Tang Sanzang and his companions into the temple.
Lin Yaoxie felt embarrassed when he saw how warmly the abbot and the others were welcoming, and followed Tang Sanzang and the abbot into the house.
Seeing that there were so many of them, the abbot realized that one room would not be enough, so he prepared two rooms for them to stay in.
"Thank you, Master. One room is enough for the few of us, so there's no need for the Elder to prepare two rooms." Tang Sanzang declined the Abbot's offer and only asked for one room.
Tang Sanzang was also very tired. He fell asleep as soon as he lay down on the bed. Lin Yaoxie saw that his master was so tired that he couldn't bear to disturb him. So he fed the white dragon horse in the courtyard and then went out.
He arrived at the woods near the temple, intending to survey the surrounding area and terrain so they could rest before continuing their journey. The woods were very quiet, with occasional bird calls, though the calls seemed somewhat strange…
Although Lin Yaoxie noticed the strangeness of the bird's call, he didn't investigate it further, only thinking that the desolate and deserted nature of the mountain forest was why the call sounded so mournful.
So Lin Yaoxie wandered around the area for a while before returning to the temple.
After he returned to the temple, it was time for dinner, so Lin Yaoxie thought he would cook some food for Tang Sanzang and went to the kitchen.
When he arrived at the kitchen, he saw that it was fully equipped with everything, from large woks to small spoons, pots, pans and bowls.
Seeing this, Lin Yaoxie thought to himself that it was exactly what he wanted. All he needed to do was find some vegetables and get some rice.
He found the abbot of the temple and told him that he wanted to prepare a vegetarian meal. The abbot then gave him some firewood, rice, oil, and salt, and also provided him with some vegetables from the temple grounds.
After thanking the abbot, Lin Yaoxie went to prepare the vegetarian meal. He quickly finished preparing the meal, including those for the abbot and his disciples.
Chapter 108 The Abbot's Thanks
Lin Yaoxie felt that they had already disturbed the abbot enough, so he prepared some vegetarian food to thank them, saying that he wanted to express his gratitude, but the rice and vegetables were given to him by the abbot.
After Lin Yaoxie finished preparing these, he served some to his master and his disciples, and left the rest for the abbot and his disciples.
"Master, get up and have dinner. It's getting late. Get up and have dinner before you rest!" Lin Yaoxie said to Tang Sanzang.
Tang Sanzang got up when he heard Lin Yaoxie's shouts. At this time, Zhu Bajie, Sun Wukong, and Sha Wujing also came over and enjoyed the dinner that Lin Yaoxie had prepared for them.
"Brother, your cooking skills have improved again. To be honest, after we get the scriptures, why don't we open an inn in the Tang Dynasty and sell food to other people? It would definitely be a big success." The gluttonous Pigsy said while eating.
"You idiot, what else do you know besides eating? I bet you'll eat me out of business before I can even sell any of my vegetables to anyone else," Lin Yaoxie teased Zhu Bajie.
After hearing this, they all burst into laughter.
After they finished dinner, Lin Yaoxie went out to find the abbot of the temple.
"Abbot, while I was cooking dinner for my master, I also prepared your dinner. It's still in the pot. You and the other masters should hurry up and get ready, or it will get cold," Lin Yaoxie said respectfully to the abbot of the temple.
The abbot was extremely grateful when he heard that Lin Yaoxie had prepared dinner for them. After all, they usually cooked their own vegetarian meals, and this was the first time someone had prepared vegetarian meals for them. They could eat dinner without putting in any effort. Normally, they would never have eaten dinner so early.
"Thank you, Lin Yaoxie. We'll go right away." After saying that, the abbot led his disciples to the kitchen. When they lifted the lid of the pot, they found that the rice smelled exceptionally good today. After that, they each served themselves some rice.
"I have never eaten such delicious vegetarian food before. The taste is just too good!" one of the monks said. The other monks nodded in agreement and gave Lin Yaoxie a thumbs up for his cooking skills.
After they finished eating and washed the pot, they went to rest.
He slept soundly through the night without any dreams. He felt he hadn't had such a peaceful sleep in a long time. There were no monsters to frighten him, and he was resting in a temple. He felt a strange sense of home in his heart.
The next day, as soon as it was light, the rooster began to crow, and Lin Yaoxie immediately woke up. He also woke up his master and junior brother. The sun was shining exceptionally well that day, and they wanted to take advantage of the good weather to hurry on their way.
The abbot and his companions had already begun meditating and chanting sutras before dawn. When they saw Tang Sanzang and his group come out, they immediately went to greet them.
"Elder Tang, are you leaving already? Why not stay a few more days in this temple before continuing your journey?" the abbot said warmly to Tang Sanzang.
"Thank you for your kindness, Abbot, but we have been traveling for too long. We must speed up our journey and cannot linger any longer." Tang Sanzang replied to the Abbot as he mounted his horse.
When the abbot saw that Tang Sanzang had already mounted his horse, he knew that they were going to leave no matter what. To thank Lin Yaoxie for the vegetarian meal he had prepared for them the day before, the abbot took out the best dry food they had and gave it to Tang Sanzang and his companions.
Chapter 109 The Quiet Woods
When Lin Yaoxie saw the abbot offering them things, he refused to accept them, saying that he was already embarrassed to have bothered them for a day and could not accept their things. But the abbot insisted on giving them to them.
Finally, Lin Yaoxie and his companions couldn't resist the abbot's enthusiasm and accepted the provisions he gave them. They then set off on their journey, leading Tang Sanzang's white dragon horse.
Lin Yaoxie and his companions spent the most peaceful night of their journey in this temple. They walked for a short while before arriving at the grove of trees where Lin Yaoxie had been that day. At this point, Lin Yaoxie looked at the sun and realized that it was already noon.
"Master, are you hungry? It's already noon. Let's take out the dry rations the abbot gave us and eat some of them. After we pass through this forest, let's see if there are any houses. I'll go and beg you for some vegetarian food." Lin Yaoxie discussed with Tang Seng.
Tang Sanzang didn't say anything when he saw Lin Yaoxie say that. He picked up the dry food that Lin Yaoxie had given him and started eating.
"Wukong, I'm a little thirsty. Could you go and get me some water?" Tang Sanzang said to Sun Wukong when he was halfway through his meal. Upon hearing that Tang Sanzang was thirsty, Sun Wukong immediately went to find a nearby stream and fetched some clear water for Tang Sanzang.
Soon, Sun Wukong returned with a gourd of water. It turned out that he had just walked a short distance when he saw a stream and then got some water for Tang Sanzang.
"Master, drink up! There's a stream nearby," Sun Wukong explained to Tang Sanzang, explaining why he had returned so quickly.
Upon hearing that there was a river nearby, Pigsy became interested. He quickly finished his dry rations and ran straight to the stream. He hadn't bathed in a long time and felt that he smelled bad.
He had originally planned to take a bath at the temple yesterday, but the water supply there was limited, and his bathing was very wasteful of water, so he was too embarrassed to ask. Now that he had the opportunity to take a bath, he naturally wanted to seize it.
However, Lin Yaoxie and the others had no idea what Zhu Bajie was thinking, and they just looked in the direction Zhu Bajie had run off in confusion.
"Bajie, where are you going? We still have to keep going, don't go too far!" Lin Yaoxie shouted at Zhu Bajie.
"Senior Brother, don't mind him. This idiot hasn't taken a bath for days. He probably heard me say there's a river nearby, so he went to bathe in it," Sun Wukong explained to Lin Yaoxie.
Not long after, Pigsy returned, and sure enough, his clothes were soaking wet, as he had just splashed around in the river a few times before getting out.
“Bajie, you’re really a clean freak!” Lin Yao said to Zhu Bajie with a wicked smile.
"That's right, I, Old Pig, am the cleanest person ever." When Pigsy heard Lin Yaoxie say that, his tail practically flew up to the sky, and he looked incredibly proud.
"Gaining Lin Yaoxie's praise is no easy feat; he must seize this opportunity to prove himself," Pigsy thought to himself.
After they replenished their energy, they continued on their way. Pigsy, who was thinking about making a good impression, carried all the luggage on his shoulders and insisted that Sandy rest for a while.
When Sha Wujing saw Zhu Bajie's appearance, he just smiled and didn't say anything else, silently following behind the white dragon horse that Tang Sanzang was riding.
Lin Yaoxie led the way, while Sun Wukong led Tang Sanzang's horse behind them. The group walked through the quiet woods, like a scene from a classical painting.
Chapter 110 The Sudden Appearance of the Lark
However, this scene did not last long.
Just as they were concentrating on their journey, a sudden burst of panicked bird calls came from ahead, followed by a large flock of birds flying towards them.
The birds surrounded Lin Yaoxie and his companions in flocks, blocking their view for the entire time. After about a minute, the birds dispersed.
"Master, are you alright? Were you hurt by those birds?" Lin Yaoxie asked Tang Sanzang from the front, but the only response he received was the neighing of the white dragon horse.
He looked back and saw that Tang Sanzang was nowhere to be seen. He then looked at the ground and saw that Sun Wukong and the others were all lying on the ground.
"Bajie, Wukong, Sha Wujing, where did Master go? Wake up!" Lin Yaoxie shouted to the people on the ground, but no one paid any attention to him. Sun Wukong and the other two had obviously fainted.
At this moment, Lin Yaoxie remembered the small river that Sun Wukong had mentioned earlier, so he ran to the river, fetched some water, and returned to the side of Sun Wukong and the other two.
Lin Yaoxie then splashed a basin of water on the faces of the group, and they immediately woke up.
"Master, hold on tight, quick!" Sun Wukong shouted as he was about to wake up. When he was fully awake, Tang Sanzang was nowhere to be seen; only the four of them remained.
"Senior Brother, I did my best to protect Master, but he was still captured. He was captured by those birds, and they knocked us all unconscious." Sun Wukong told Lin Yaoxie his thoughts.
"You're right, Master was indeed captured by those birds. It was my oversight. I've been to this forest before and heard many bird calls. I thought the calls were strange, but I didn't think much of it. It's all my fault for being so careless," Lin Yaoxie said remorsefully.
"Senior Brother, this isn't your fault. Perhaps this is a tribulation Master was destined to face on his journey to the West. Let's try to rescue him," Sha Wujing comforted Lin Yaoxie.
Even Pigsy, who usually only talks back, changed his tune today and joined them in trying to persuade the demon Lin not to blame himself. They had no other choice but to find a way to rescue Tang Sanzang.
However, all they know for now is that Tang Sanzang was captured by those larks, but they don't know the origin of these larks or their nests. They need to find out more about the situation first.
Lin Yaoxie took out his Thunder Axe and tapped it on the ground a few times. An old man then emerged from underground.
"Young Master Lin, Great Sage, what brings you here again? I was just enjoying my wine down here when you summoned me up," the Earth God joked.
"You old local earth god, you're living a good life, aren't you? You even dare to drink alcohol. Believe me or not, I'll report you to the Jade Emperor and make sure you lose your job," Sun Wukong teased the earth god.
"Oh dear, Great Sage, please have mercy! Don't tell the Jade Emperor! I'll tell you everything you ask later, but please pretend you don't know anything about the drinking, okay?" the Earth God said to them with a smile.
They hadn't really intended to complain to the Jade Emperor about the Earth God; they were just trying to scare him. They never expected the Earth God to actually take it seriously. They were truly wicked.
Chapter 111 Gathering Information on the Enemy
When Lin Yaoxie and the others heard what the Earth God said, they stopped joking with him and quickly asked Lin Yaoxie to tell them where those larks came from.
"Young Master Lin, these larks only arrived here a few years ago. It is said that they came from Wuling Mountain. At first, they were free and sang in the forest every day for the people who came and went, and they were very popular with them," the Earth God said to Lin Yaoxie and his companions.
"If this lark is a good bird, then why did it kidnap my master?" Lin Yaoxie asked the Earth God again.
"Oh dear, this is what I'm going to tell you next, Young Hero Lin. Later on, the lark birds had a leader, and they were all under the leader's command. Since then, these birds have started to wreak havoc on the human world, often harming passersby and committing all sorts of evil deeds. I once complained to the Jade Emperor, but the Jade Emperor said he couldn't do anything about it, so I can't do anything about it!" The Earth God felt more and more helpless as he spoke.
“Thank you, Earth God. Do you know where they live?” Lin Yaoxie asked again.
