When the Buddha asked Guanyin Bodhisattva this question, Guanyin Bodhisattva had the answer.

So, on Lin Yaoxie's side, the old turtle carried them to the middle of the river.

"High Monk Tang, did the Buddha answer the question I asked you to ask him last time?" the old tortoise asked Tang Sanzang.

When Tang Sanzang heard the old tortoise ask this question, he remembered that there seemed to be such a thing, but at that time they were busy moving the scriptures and had completely forgotten about it, so they didn't ask for the old tortoise at all.

Upon hearing that no one was being asked, the old tortoise became enraged. With a flip, it threw Tang Sanzang and his companions into the sea. Once in the water, Tang Sanzang and his companions saw their scriptures soaked and cried out anxiously, "My scriptures! My scriptures!" But the scriptures were already completely wet.

The group hurriedly escaped from the river, bringing the scriptures with them to the bank, where they laid them out to dry on a large rock by the roadside.

Chapter 121 The Wet Scriptures

The group rested nearby while waiting for the scriptures to dry.

"Oh dear, look at my brain! If I had remembered to ask that old turtle, we wouldn't have fallen into the river, and the scriptures wouldn't have gotten wet!" Tang Sanzang said regretfully. But time cannot be turned back, and what's done is done, so all we can do is try to fix it.

"Master, if you want to blame someone, blame that old turtle for being so petty. It's wrong of us to forget, but it's also wrong of him to throw us into the river. Don't take it to heart," Lin Yaoxie advised Tang Sanzang.

Tang Sanzang understood this principle, so he didn't think about it too deeply.

"Lin Yaoxie, your master is a little hungry. Why don't you go and get some vegetarian food for us to eat, and we can wait for the scriptures to dry while we wait?" Tang Sanzang said to Lin Yaoxie after hearing his words.

When Lin Yaoxie heard Tang Sanzang say he was hungry, he himself also felt a little hungry. At this time, Zhu Bajie and the others also said they felt a little hungry, so they went to get some food.

He went to the nearby market and bought some rice and vegetables with his spare change, as well as some new food items.

Their original possessions had been lost in the river and washed away. Since they had already obtained the true scriptures, they figured they wouldn't need much money anymore, so they splurged and bought a lot of things.

After buying his things, he came to the door of a farmhouse. He gently knocked on the door and saw an old man come out.

"Old man, I am a monk from the Great Tang Dynasty in the East. I am passing by and would like to borrow your stove to cook some vegetarian food for my master and junior brother," Lin Yaoxie explained to the old man.

The old man was very hospitable and immediately invited Lin Yaoxie into the house, lending him the stove so that Lin Yaoxie could start cooking.

Soon, Lin Yaoxie had finished cooking. To thank the old man for lending him his stove, Lin Yaoxie shared some of his food with them.

The old man initially refused to accept the food, but he couldn't resist Lin Yaoxie's insistence and finally accepted it.

After thanking the old man, Lin Yaoxie left to find Tang Sanzang and the others.

When Lin Yaoxie arrived, he saw Tang Sanzang arranging the dried scriptures.

"Master, let's eat first. We can organize these scriptures after we finish eating, since they're already in our hands," Lin Yaoxie said to Tang Sanzang.

0oo is asking for flowers.....

Tang Sanzang felt that what Lin Yaoxie said made sense. After all, people need food to survive, so he put down the scriptures in his hand and began to eat the food that Lin Yaoxie had brought back.

"Brother, I knew you made this food the moment I tasted it. No one else could make it taste like this," Pigsy said, his mouth full of rice grains.

.o…00

"You idiot, all you've got is a mouth. Hurry up and eat," Lin Yaoxie joked to Zhu Bajie.

Just as they finished their meal, all the scriptures were dried. So they packed the scriptures into their suitcases, organized them, and then left.

After they left, a large, gleaming golden character appeared on the spot where they had dried the scriptures, signifying that all the tribulations they had endured were over and that Tang Sanzang's journey to the West to obtain the scriptures had come to an end.

After Lin Yaoxie and his group arrived, they went to the Western Paradise and met the Buddha. The Buddha pretended to be very shocked when he saw them return.

Chapter 122 Returning to the Tang Dynasty

"Why have you come back again? Didn't I already have my disciples give you the scriptures?" the Buddha asked them.

“We originally intended to take these scriptures with us when we passed the Tongtian River. We asked the old turtle to give us a ride, but we forgot to ask him about his cultivation. In a fit of anger, he flipped us into the river, and all the scriptures got wet.”

Lin Yaoxie complained to the Buddha, "500" Ancestor.

“Yes, we went through a lot of trouble to dry these scriptures!” Pigsy followed up on Lin Yaoxie’s words and said to the Buddha.

Tang Sanzang, hearing his two disciples' unbridled words, quickly stopped them. At that moment, he noticed a clear expression of displeasure on the face of the Buddha.

"Amitabha Buddha, my two disciples are ignorant. Please, Buddha, do not hold it against them. This is my fault. I forgot to ask the old tortoise about it," Tang Sanzang pleaded with Buddha on behalf of Lin Yaoxie and Zhu Bajie.

In fact, Buddha was not angry. The old tortoise knocking them into the water was just a calamity he had prepared for them. If we really had to pinpoint whose fault it was, Buddha was the one who was most at fault.

"Alright, now that you five have dried the scriptures, you can consider your mission of obtaining the scriptures from the West complete. It's time for you to return to the Tang Dynasty," the Buddha said to them.

After the Buddha finished speaking, he sent his disciples to give each of them a new kasaya. Lin Yaoxie and the others were overjoyed after putting on the kasaya; they were now considered high monks.

After distributing the robes to them, the Buddha sent someone to summon the Somersault Cloud to send them back to the Tang Dynasty. There, the master and his disciples stood on the Somersault Cloud, dressed in their robes, looking incredibly majestic.

"Master, we've finally succeeded! Now we can return to the Tang Dynasty!" Lin Yaoxie said happily to Tang Sanzang.

Tang Sanzang was also very excited. He had been away for too long, and now he could finally obtain the scriptures and return to the Tang Dynasty. He would also have the face to meet the Emperor of the Tang Dynasty.

“Master, look over there. Isn’t that where we just passed? And over there, that’s the Kingdom of Women. You almost got married there.” Sun Wukong, who was beside Tang Sanzang, said to him.

As soon as Sun Wukong finished speaking, Tang Sanzang's face turned red. He was a monk; how could this mischievous monkey make such a joke?

"Wukong, don't talk nonsense. Your master is a high monk, and matters of love and affection are none of his concern." Lin Yaoxie said to Sun Wukong while winking at him, indicating that his master was embarrassed.

Sun Wukong saw that Tang Sanzang's expression had changed, and that's when he shut up.

On their way back, they kept marveling at what had happened along the way, as if it were just yesterday. And so, the group chatted and laughed until they arrived in the Tang Dynasty.

It took them several years to travel there, but those were the eighty-one tribulations arranged by the Buddha for Tang Sanzang. Since they had already endured these tribulations, they naturally didn't need to go back. So, on May 5.4th, they quickly returned to the Tang Dynasty.

"Amitabha, my disciples, this is the Tang Dynasty where your master lives. Our emperor is a very good emperor; he is wholeheartedly devoted to the country." Tang Sanzang said to his disciples as he stood at the gate of the palace.

After listening, Lin Yaoxie and the others tilted their heads and looked around at the magnificent palace, feeling curious wherever they went.

Chapter 123 The Emperor of the Tang Dynasty

Lin Yaoxie and his companions had endured hardships with Tang Sanzang all the way, and had never seen such a magnificent palace before. So they stood outside the city gate and kept looking inside.

Ever since they were thrown into the water last time, perhaps due to the impact of the waves, Lin Yaoxie suddenly remembered everything from his past, including the Tang Dynasty palace he had seen on television.

Previously, Lin Yaoxie could only be seen on TV, but now being able to walk around the imperial city in person is a truly wonderful feeling.

Soon, the emperor heard the news that Tang Sanzang had returned from his pilgrimage to the West, and shortly afterward, he led his men out to greet him.

The emperor walked in front, followed by civil and military officials and soldiers. The scene was magnificent and spectacular. Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, and Sha Wujing were all dumbfounded.

"See? Master has real prestige. The emperor himself came out to greet him with all the civil and military officials. That shows how much merit our master has made today." Lin Yaoxie tossed Sun Wukong's arm and then said to him.

Sun Wukong just chuckled when he heard Lin Yaoxie's words. He was also happy that his master was able to successfully complete the pilgrimage and return to the Tang Dynasty.

While they were talking, the emperor walked up to Tang Sanzang. Before the emperor could even thank Tang Sanzang for his hard work, he was frightened by the disciples around Tang Sanzang.

It's not that the emperor was unsophisticated, but Tang Sanzang's disciples were so frighteningly good-looking that he staggered backward and almost fainted. Luckily, the guards beside him caught him.

"Your Majesty, do not be afraid. They are my disciples whom I took on my journey to the West to obtain the scriptures. I was able to overcome many difficulties and reach the West to obtain the scriptures thanks to them," Tang Sanzang explained to the emperor.

After hearing Tang Sanzang's explanation, the emperor finally understood. He had thought these people were monsters from somewhere, but it turned out they were Tang Sanzang's disciples, who must be quite powerful.

Thinking of this, the emperor was no longer afraid and invited the master and his disciples inside. They walked for a long time before finally reaching the main hall.

Upon reaching the main hall, the emperor immediately ordered people to offer them seats and to prepare tea and snacks, saying he wanted to hear about their journey to the West.

"Your Majesty, the matter of our pilgrimage could be discussed for three days and three nights. Why don't we take out the scriptures first?" Lin Yaoxie said to the emperor.

He figured his master must be exhausted from the journey back, and if he started telling the emperor stories now, he wouldn't know when he'd get a break.

So he thought he would let the emperor read the scriptures first, then let them rest, and then tell the emperor about the 500-mile journey to the West the next day.

The emperor, of course, noticed Tang Sanzang's exhaustion, so he agreed to Lin Yaoxie's request to let them read the scriptures first, and then ordered people to prepare rooms for them before letting them rest.

Lin Yaoxie and his companions arrived at the rooms prepared for them by the emperor. Each of them had their own room, which was much more spacious than when they shared a room as five people on their journey to the West.

In the past, when they rested on their journey to the West, they were afraid that Tang Sanzang might encounter trouble if he was alone in a room, so they simply slept in one room together to protect him.

Now that they're back in the Tang Dynasty, there's no danger left, so naturally they want to sleep more comfortably.

Chapter 124 The First Day After Returning to Beijing

Soon, they all fell asleep on their beds in their rooms, without even eating dinner.

They didn't get up until dawn the next day. They hadn't slept so soundly in a long time, to the point that it all felt unreal, yet they really had returned from their pilgrimage to the West.

After they woke up, someone brought them food and told them that the emperor wanted to see them and hoped that they would go to the main hall to pay their respects to the emperor after breakfast.

So the master and his disciples had a simple breakfast and then went to see the emperor.

"Master Tang, your journey to the West to obtain the scriptures has been extremely difficult, and you have brought back so many scriptures for the country. On behalf of the nation, I thank you. You have worked hard all the way." The Emperor of Tang said sincerely to Tang Sanzang.

"Amitabha Buddha, this is what your disciple should do, please don't take it to heart, Your Majesty," Tang Sanzang said politely.

"Then tell me quickly about the things that happened on the journey to the West," the emperor said again, genuinely eager to know what had transpired along the way.

Upon hearing the emperor's words, Lin Yaoxie and the others were all lost in their memories.

It was a sunny summer day. The group of master and his disciples were passing by a large river. They thought that since it was summer and they had been sweating a lot from walking every day, they decided to take a bath in the river.

Of course, Tang Sanzang went down with him.

At the time, they were all overwhelmed by this sudden happiness and were only concerned with bathing in the river, splashing water on each other.

What they didn't expect was that, just as they were having fun, Tang Sanzang suddenly seemed to be possessed and walked towards the center of the river.

No matter how the others called out to him, Tang Sanzang seemed not to hear them and kept walking into the river. At this moment, Lin Yaoxie saw Tang Sanzang walking towards the whirlpool in the center of the river and quickly chased after him.

However, the vortex was moving very fast, so fast that Lin Yaoxie couldn't even see the direction of the vortex before it disappeared. Soon, Tang Seng also disappeared with the vortex. They knew that their master had been captured by the demon.

After reaching this conclusion, the group quickly went ashore, put on their clothes, and discussed the monster that had just kidnapped Tang Sanzang.

“That monster must be something from the sea. It has been in the sea for a long time and knows the terrain of the river well enough. Wukong is not a good swimmer, so let him stay on the shore and wait. I will go into the water with Bajie to look for it,” Lin Yaoxie analyzed to the group.

Sun Wukong knew he wasn't a good swimmer, so he didn't insist on going down with them. Instead, he stayed on the shore with Sha Wujing to guard the luggage.

Lin Yaoxie and Zhu Bajie quickly arrived at the bottom of the water. They saw that the water was very clear, with many fish swimming around, and the bottom of the river was covered with seaweed.

Suddenly, they came to a place where Pigsy could no longer walk. Lin Yaoxie looked back and saw that Pigsy's foot was tangled in a seaweed.

"Brother, I feel like I can't move. Is this seaweed poisonous?" Pigsy cried to Lin Yaoxie.

“Bajie, don’t scare yourself. Most of this seaweed is not poisonous. Only a small portion is poisonous. You can’t possibly be that sure,” Lin Yaoxie comforted Zhu Bajie.

However, Lin Yaoxie wasn't sure whether the seaweed was poisonous or not, since he hadn't examined it under a microscope.

Chapter 125 Pigsy is Poisoned

So Lin Yaoxie, hoping for the best, went to the seaweed.

Now the seaweed has tangled around Pigsy's feet, and he can only use an axe to cut it off, but there is a high chance that he will hurt Pigsy's feet, but he did not tell Pigsy.

Zhu Bajie is very sensitive; if you tell him, I don't know how much of an argument you'll have.
