A Young Woman's Heart

2001 11 Month 12 Day.
Several consecutive sunny days have caused the temperature to rise considerably. Bathed in the morning sun, Mo Xueyao felt so warm that she even felt a little sleepy.
She yawned, leaning on the table in the band room, and gently touched the freshly brewed osmanthus tea with her finger.
These are osmanthus flowers that Mr. Xue collected and dried. There's a glass jar of them, which is kept in the drawer. You can take them if you want some.
The tea was still very hot. She swallowed, feeling a slight pain in her throat. It was probably from not sleeping well the night before, causing some inflammation.
"Cough cough sip—" She cleared her throat forcefully, picked up the teacup and took a sip, but then coughed because she was burned.
"Clang! Clang clang!"
"What's wrong..." Mo Xueyao rubbed her throat and asked somewhat uncomfortably, "So happy?"
"There's a new song today!" Hua Yinyin twirled and jumped into the classroom, stepping in the sunlight streaming in.
A lone swallow perched on the windowsill, curiously tilting its head to look at them.
Seeing swallows in this season inevitably made Hua Yinyin glance at them a few more times, lost in thought.
"What new song?" Mo Xueyao felt her throat was really sore and she didn't really want to talk anymore.
"Xiao Yaoyao's voice sounds so hoarse, what's wrong? Do you have a cold?"
"It might be the beginning of a cold..." Mo Xueyao took another small sip of osmanthus tea.
Hua Yinyin put her schoolbag on the chair, quickly unzipped it, and took out the lyric book from inside.
Once unfolded, it was mostly filled with messy doodles and half-finished songs or lyrics.
She flipped the notebook to the latest page in one go. At the top were sheet music crammed together, with many corrections.
Below that are the lyrics, which haven't been altered much.
The song title is written at the end; it's called "Random Singing and Playing".
"Ah, these lyrics... Although Yin Yin, your lyrics are always weird, they used to be relatively cute, right? Why does this one suddenly sound like rap?"
"Hey, I chatted with Wu Xiaoping and the others the other day, and they mentioned a lot of their favorite metal rock bands, so when I got back, I wanted to change the original song to a metal rock style, something more intense and energetic, wouldn't that be great!"
"It feels like it'll be very noisy..."
"How could that be? It should be exciting and passionate!"
"Tsk..."
Mo Xueyao lazily rested her chin on her hand and read the lyrics again.
Hua Yinyin, standing beside her, leaned close to her face with great anticipation, her almond-shaped eyes wide open, seemingly waiting for her evaluation.
"Don't say that each generation is worse than the last, it's more accurate to say that the previous generation can't understand the next generation. Ten years ago, they were called crazy, and ten years later they say that others are from Mars..." Mo Xueyao hesitated, "Your... doesn't even rhyme."
"It's precisely because it doesn't rhyme that it has a rebellious feel to it!"
"Why did you suddenly want to do something rebellious..."
"Isn't being rebellious good? We need a song like that too!"
"All right……"
“Sparrows tangled on the power lines, and cats lurked in the treetops, following their instincts no matter how many obstacles they faced.” Mo Xueyao pointed to this passage. “Even without considering rhyme, this part is still quite nonsensical. Although I can understand what you're trying to express, isn't it too abrupt?”
"That's exactly how it should be! Little Yaoyao doesn't understand at all!"
"Good morning!" Mo Zhuyou's voice came from the doorway. She dragged her drum kit into the classroom and, seeing the two of them huddled together, curiously squeezed over. "What are you looking at?"
The three of them huddled together, their faces pressed close. Mo Zhuyou slightly opened her mouth and glanced at the lyrics: "Hmm... what are these lyrics? I am... a cat, soaring in the sky, with light ahead, and rest is no problem... It's all so nonsensical..."
"I think it's great!"
Mr. Xue appeared at the door at just the right moment.
Actually, he had arrived at school a long time ago, but he was tidying up his things in the classroom, so he only came over now.
"Xiaoxue! Come and see how my writing is!"
“I am a cat…” Mr. Xue walked over unhurriedly. Although he was standing opposite and looking at the words on the lyric book backwards, he had no difficulty reading them at all.
Why are you two so fixated on this one line?
"Aren't the lyrics good? Especially the rap part!"
So everyone's attention fell on the section that Hua Yinyin was pointing to.
“This is our song. People of the new era don’t need to be bound by things from the old era. You may think it’s just random singing and playing, but it has its own rhythm. We don’t need to be led by you. We have our own path—” She paused, then continued reading with great enthusiasm, “Those who can play music have their own songs. A hoarse voice roars because we are still exploring. Even if we go off-key, we can find a new rhythm!”
"Is this even considered lyrics?" Mo Xueyao couldn't help but roll her eyes.
"Hmm... that's weird, but all our band's songs are like that, you're used to it by now."
"It's a really good song."
"Right!" Hua Yinyin excitedly hugged Mr. Xue. "Xiao Xue has such good taste!"
Mr. Xue's thought process is so amazing that sometimes it might actually collide with Hua Yinyin's thoughts.
Mo Zhuyou turned to the next page and found that Hua Yinyin had already written out the sheet music for the drum set. It was probably because this time it was particularly difficult, so it was written in great detail, with many annotations added next to it.
"This song has such a fast tempo..." she grinned. "I can already feel my hands and feet cramping... especially this part... can I really keep up with the pedal strokes?"
"No problem, Youyou. You've been practicing for so long, it's just a little increase in difficulty."
Mo Xueyao felt that this "slightly" contained at least five times the difficulty...
"Sigh... Hmm... Okay, let's try it at noon today. It's been a long time since I practiced a new song. Although this one is difficult, it's not bad to give it a try."
“That’s right, you can only improve by trying more!” Hua Yinyin tossed the lyric book to Mr. Xue. “Xiao Xue, take a look and see if there’s anything that needs to be revised. Then you can write the scores for the other instrument parts!”
"Okay." Mr. Xue readily agreed. He had just sat down when he looked up at Mo Xueyao again. "Xiaoyao has a cold?"
Do you all think my voice is a little hoarse?
"Hmm, and there's a nasal tone too!" Mo Zhuyou nodded gently, taking a deep breath. "I've also been feeling a bit stuffy lately, probably because of the fluctuating temperature..."
"Probably. It's cold in the morning, then warm when the sun comes out, and then freezing cold again at night." As Mo Xueyao spoke, she couldn't help but sneeze, and tears and snot flowed uncontrollably. She grabbed several tissues and wiped her face vigorously, then sighed and slumped into a chair. "Ah...it's so uncomfortable."
"Shall we go get some medicine from Teacher Su?"
"Cold medicine?"
“Anti-inflammatory medicine should be fine.” Hua Yinyin was very experienced. “I got anti-inflammatory medicine there when I had a cold before, and I also drank a cup of Banlangen granules.”
"How's the effect?"
"I don't feel too bad, although I inevitably caught a cold the next day."
"Hello! Good morning!" Although she arrived much earlier than in her first year of high school, Wang Jiale, who was still usually the last to arrive, finally came late, accompanied by Yu Shu.
"Good morning." Yu Shu nodded obediently and quietly sat down at the table where the computer was placed.
Most of the time, she doesn't attend the Snow Music Band's tea parties.
In addition to practicing, she also frequently uses the computer to process photos and videos, so she is quite busy most of the time.
"Yu Shu, take a look at Yin Yin's new song!" Mo Xueyao immediately shared the lyrics. "It seems like your keyboard is going to be responsible for the electronic music output in this song."
"Huh?"
"I'll have Xiaoxue adjust it for you then!"
"Electronic music..."
Hua Yinyin was afraid that she wouldn't understand, so she gestured and explained, "It's a sound similar to the theme song of Journey to the West, a sharp, electric sound, that's electronic music."
"Well……"
"No wonder Yin Yin wrote these lyrics." Wang Jiale remained calm and changed the subject. "When I came up here today, the class monitor told me that the school is going to hold a debate competition and a flea market or something."
"Huh? How come I didn't know? Uh, maybe Wen told her this morning." Mo Xueyao pouted. "A debate competition, it seems like you need to have great eloquence and a broad knowledge base."
"I wonder how it will turn out. I had a debate competition when I was in junior high school, and how should I put it, it was absolutely terrible... it was like we were just arguing with each other."
"After all, I'm still just a student." Mo Xueyao took a big gulp of the cooled osmanthus tea, squinted her eyes in satisfaction. The osmanthus flowers didn't taste like anything on her tongue, but they smelled exceptionally fragrant, as if she were lying on a carpet of osmanthus flowers.
"A flea market? Hmm, weren't flea markets usually held when high school seniors were about to graduate?" Mo Zhuyou was quite familiar with this because she had specifically looked into it when she first entered high school. Unfortunately, the flea market at Yukong High School had been discontinued three years ago.
"Have you ever done this before?" Mo Xueyao was a little confused; she didn't remember when such an event had ever happened.
"No, it was a long time ago, before we even enrolled. It seems they canceled it because they were worried about it affecting the senior students' studies. But it's back now? And the start date has been moved up."
"A flea market..." Mo Xueyao quickly searched her mind for old items she could sell.
But many old items, though never used in daily life, are hard to part with when it comes to selling them, because they all carry memories left by time.
"Could we bring some fruit from home to sell?" she asked suddenly.
"Pfft, how could that be? Flea markets are usually for selling secondhand goods that people don't want anymore."
"Wouldn't it be better to sell some new products?"
"But... things at flea markets have to be really cheap, right?"
“That’s true…” Mo Xueyao nodded thoughtfully.
She was thinking, why not just have her mother take out her old men's clothes and sell them? They're all hidden away anyway, and she won't be able to wear them anymore...

Chapter 83 "The Candy Diary": The Great King's Adventure
(One)
This cat is tired of being king.
Being busy with countless tasks every day is both troublesome and painful.
It's better to be a lazy cat.
Therefore, the throne was temporarily handed over to Miss Milk Candy.
She didn't seem very interested in these things either, but she reluctantly agreed when she heard that I wanted to take a break.
In leisurely days, time seems to slow down, and I always feel a little restless, wanting to do something.
