A Young Woman's Heart

"Who is that boy? Hahaha!"
"That's terrible, he must have been dragged there by a girl."
"The girls in Class Two are amazing, awesome!"
"Hey, I have to say, she looks pretty good from a distance, right? That figure, those legs, wow, tsk tsk."
"Even if I were a man, I'd want to touch your thigh!"
"Wow, you're a pervert!"
"What's wrong with that? As long as he's good-looking, that's all that matters!" a boy who was extremely open to new things shouted, attracting many stares. "What's wrong? Can't you find a man who's like a woman to have some fun with?"
"That makes sense, bro."
"I call you awesome." Everyone else gave a thumbs up.
"You don't even spare men, you beast!"
"As long as they're pretty, it doesn't matter if they're a man!" That guy once again made his perverted declaration.
It was so classic that it became the bible of Yukong High School, and was passed down by word of mouth among students for many years afterward.
Putting aside their clothes, Mo Xueyao and An Ruosu sang quite well.
Moreover, An Ruosu sang much better.
Although it was a crash course training, Mo Xueyao had never been a good singer since childhood. Her limit was just being able to stay in tune and keep up with the rhythm. She was far inferior to An Ruosu, who would incorporate some better singing techniques, such as a slight tremor or a sustained note. Mo Xueyao didn't understand the specific professional terms, since she wasn't a music student.
When the song ended, many people started whistling in a jeering manner. Mo Xueyao clearly saw that An Ruosu's ears were completely red, and his legs were trembling slightly. He looked very nervous and scared.
An Ruosu breathed a sigh of relief after the two stepped off the stage.
"How are you feeling?" Mo Xueyao asked with a smile in the corridor.
"This is so embarrassing," An Ruosu said, clutching her chest. "I feel like my heart is about to jump out of my chest."
"Haha—why do your lines sound like the female lead's? Did you get assimilated by the clothes?"
"Of course not!" An Ruosu quickly denied. "How is Mo Xueyao feeling?"
"It's great, wearing men's clothes feels very... very comfortable." She smiled. "Hurry up and change, our play is about to start."
"Yeah, although wearing those mascot costumes is tiring, I still feel more at ease in them now."
"Because I can't see your face?"
"Probably so."
"Hurry up, Xiaoyao, go to the dressing room to change into your assistant's outfit. An Ruosu, take off your coat—there's no time to change back into your men's clothes, just take off your skirt and coat and change into your mascot costume!" Hua Yinyin kept urging.
"Yes, hurry up, we only have three minutes," Li Wanyan added.

Chapter Five: Riding on the Back of a Silver Dragon (Part 1)
This chapter pays homage to Miyuki Nakajima's single "Riding on the Back of a Silver Dragon".
That's right, it's all tribute, it's all tribute!
(Note: This single was not released in 99.)
……
Three minutes later, Mo Xueyao stepped onto the stage once again with the crowd.
The narration is in Hua Yinyin's voice.
When she speaks seriously, her voice is gentle and elegant, like a graceful woman in a cheongsam.
It's hard to imagine that she actually has a chubby, round face and that she likes to take advantage of girls.
"In the Pacific Ocean, there is an island whose area is only the size of a small county town. There are no towering buildings here, nor are there nights as bright as day. There are only some scattered villages here."
"It's neither far nor near the mainland. It would take more than six hours to reach the shore by ordinary fishing boat."
"On this island, there are about three thousand people living, but only one doctor, who lives in a small wooden house by the lake."
At that moment, the lights came on and shone on Mr. Xue and Mo Xueyao. Mr. Xue was wearing a white coat, while Mo Xueyao was wearing the uniform of an assistant nurse. The two sat on two chairs.
The backdrop depicts a clinic furnished with simple furniture and medical equipment.
Wang Jiale, who was playing a child, was lying in a hospital bed coughing. Because of the makeup, her face was flushed and she looked very uncomfortable.
"Doctor...doctor...it hurts so much..." Wang Jiale said, biting her lip.
As soon as she opened her mouth, many students couldn't help but laugh. They didn't know what was so funny. Perhaps it was because it was interesting to have Wang Jiale, who looks like a junior high school student, playing an elementary school student.
"It's nothing, just a fever. Don't worry, you'll feel better soon after taking fever reducer," Mr. Xue gently comforted her. "Xiaoyao, could you get me an ice pack?"
"Okay." Mo Xueyao stood up, took an ice pack from the foam box next to her, and applied it to Wang Jiale's forehead.
The narration started again: "Every day, people come to the door for medical treatment, but the island is neither big nor small. Some people live too far away and have to get up early to travel over. If they have difficulty walking, the doctor has to come to their door in person."
"Dong dong!"
"Please come in."
The robust Li Hongran walked in: "Doctor, my mother has been coughing lately, and I don't know why. She also has difficulty walking and has trouble getting around. Could you come to my house to take a look?"
“Of course.” Mr. Xue immediately stood up. “Did you start coughing recently? Have you had a fever?”
"I don't think he has a fever; he just started coughing recently."
Does this happen every spring?
"I don't know, but it's been like this ever since the island started planting greenery on a large scale."
“Then your mother may be allergic to some kind of pollen.” Mr. Xue said, looking at Mo Xueyao, who immediately bent down and began searching for medications that could help treat pollen allergies.
"Dr. Xue, the medicine has been brought."
"Let's set off now."
Then the backdrop began to change, and the bicycle that had been set up was pushed out.
Mr. Xue got on the bicycle, and Mo Xueyao straddled it.
"Ahem!" Mo Xiaoxiao, hiding behind the backstage curtain, coughed softly to remind him, "Xiaoyao~ you should sit sideways..."
Mo Xueyao paused for a moment, then pretended to be nonchalant as she pulled her leg back and sat sideways on the back of the bicycle.
Li Hongran ran while giving directions, while Mr. Xue rode with Mo Xueyao on his back towards his home.
Xuan Anyi plays Li Hongran's mother, and the scene quickly shifts to her bedside.
Li Hongran's 'mother' was coughing violently, her neck constricted, as if she were coughing up her lungs.
"Close the windows first," Mr. Xue instructed as soon as he entered the room.
Mo Xueyao and Li Hongran quickly made a gesture to close the window, and the sound of the window closing was also accompanied by a background noise.
"Splash—"
“Your mother is allergic to pollen, and it’s the season when flowers are in full bloom, so it’s best if you don’t open the windows. Then take these medicines and put on a mask,” Mr. Xue said simply and efficiently after examining her symptoms.
After taking the medicine and wearing a mask, 'Mother's' cough finally improved a lot, and she was able to lie down comfortably and rest well.
"Thank you, doctor!"
"You're welcome. It's what a doctor should do," Mr. Xue said with a smile.
After saying goodbye to Li Hongran, Mr. Xue and Mo Xueyao began to walk back.
At this point, there are no more lines; you just keep encountering different people and then, like in a silent film, you start treating other people.
The narrator then began to read in a rambling, incoherent manner.
"Almost every day, Mr. Xue would ride his bicycle to various parts of the island to treat people. Sometimes, even if no one sought him out, he would still go to different parts of the island to see if anyone was sick but was enduring the pain without seeking medical attention."
"Most of the matters at the clinic are handled by his assistant."
"He would also teach the islanders to identify various herbs and how to perform simple self-diagnoses."
"He was just an ordinary doctor, repeating mundane things every day. Although he often only treated minor ailments, this island couldn't function without him."
"The islanders named his bicycle 'Silver Dragon,' meaning that he was like a hero riding on the back of a silver dragon, saving the world."
But Mr. Xue was very modest, believing that this was just what he should do as a doctor.
The narration fades away, and Mr. Xue's story continues.
Mo Xueyao, as an assistant, mostly helps children with their medical care, probably because as a woman, she has a natural affinity for children.
The entire play employed a unique performance style.
That means Mo Xueyao's storyline and Mr. Xue's storyline will unfold simultaneously.
The stage was divided into two parts: on one side was Mo Xueyao, who stayed in a small wooden house and gave simple diagnoses to the children; on the other side was Mr. Xue, who rode his bicycle around to treat people.
Besides Wang Jiale playing a child, Hua Yinyin also personally appeared in the later part of the film.
After all, there aren't many petite girls in the class, so it's normal for them to take on multiple roles to ensure diversity.
The stories unfold one after another. They may not have many ups and downs, but they are all about the daily lives of doctors—simple yet heartwarming.
Everyone felt happy.
However, the plot also contains foreshadowing. For example, Li Hongran heard others say that there was a Ganoderma lucidum on the mountaintop, and that eating it would cure his allergy, so he decided to climb the mountain.
And now the main event is finally here.
"Huff...huff..." Li Hongran pretended to be very tired as she walked up a prop-made slope, muttering to herself, "Why aren't we there yet?"
The background also changes as he moves; the patterns on these background boards were drawn by everyone together.
The style is not particularly consistent, but it has a different kind of subtle beauty.
Just then, a wolf suddenly pounced out; yes, this was the character played by An Ruosu.
They've finally made their appearance.
