"Yo ho ho, you're full of energy, Yomi. Keep it up!" Mado Kureo was quite pleased with Yomi's killing intent, which was almost boiling over. His two proud disciples both had flaws: one was too enthusiastic and forgot to stay calm, while the other was too calm and lacked drive.

Yamen pulled out two neatly arranged documents from the pile of files and handed them to Huang Quan.

Mado Kureo sat at the head of the conference table, propping his head up and rhythmically tapping his weapon case. The fact that two S-rank ghouls had appeared in the relatively peaceful 20th ward in such a short time was quite intriguing. Mado Kureo was very curious about what had brought Jason to the 20th ward.

The Iron Triangle Crows successfully drove out [Big Eater], causing it to wander from District 11 to District 20.

The problem facing Yomi and the others in order to successfully eliminate [Oogiri] is how to catch [Oogiri] Rize Kamishiro again.

"That 'Oogiri' seems to have a good reputation among its kind in Japan." A cruel glint flashed in the crimson eyes behind Yomi's sunglasses. Back in Japan, she had learned about 'Oogiri' Rize Kamishiro from some dying ghouls.

"A hunter who doesn't care about territory, even with a huge appetite, will share any surplus food with weaker ghouls. Extrapolating from this, in a peaceful place like the 20th ward, their personalities would likely be even more unrestrained. Whether it's a powerful ghoul whose territory was originally taken, or a weak ghoul who received her favor, we can catch the [Big Ghoul] by targeting either of these areas!"

Yomi's analysis made Mado Kureo and Amon's eyes light up!

Amen, who was also influenced by this, quickly offered his own analysis.

"That's right. If we can successfully capture [Oogiri], we can use her to verify Mr. Mado's guess. The appearance of two S-rank ghouls in the 20th ward must be hiding more secrets!"

Amon Kotaro's words surprised Yomi.

Unexpectedly, the somewhat pathological investigator, Kureo Mado, possessed such keen intuition. She truly knew that Jason had indeed come for Rize Kamishiro, the ghoul, in the original storyline. Kureo Mado made this guess entirely based on her intuition and fragmented information, truly a formidable old man not to be underestimated.

"Hehe, hehehe! This is really interesting. Yamen and Huangquan, your analyses are both very brilliant, but you both overlooked the most basic point."

Mado Kureo stopped banging on the weapon case and held up one finger.

"That's the feeding frequency of the [Ghoul]!"

Upon hearing this, Yomi and Amon immediately realized where they had overlooked something; they had habitually linked Kamishiro Rize's eating frequency to that of ordinary ghouls.

An ordinary ghoul can survive by eating once or twice a month, but Rize Kamishiro needs to eat two or three times a week, and in astonishing quantities. The crows, as before, slowly searched and investigated, but before they could catch Rize, she had already sensed the danger and fled.

Of course, I still vaguely remember the plot where Yomi knew that Rize Kamishiro would target Ken Kaneki.

However, now a butterfly named Huang Quan has begun to flutter its wings, and she doesn't know if the story will continue as it was originally planned.

Have you ever wondered why District 20 is so peaceful?

Mado Kureo's question shifted to another direction. Amon didn't understand, while Yomi seemed thoughtful. Without waiting for the two disciples to answer, Mado Kureo resumed his rhythmic tapping of the box.

"Forget it, this is not our concern. Otherwise, someone will start nagging me about how to deal with ghouls again. Yomi's suggestion was excellent. To find ghouls, you have to use ghouls to catch ghouls. And luckily, there's a dreamy, idiotic ghoul in the 20th ward that took the bait."

In the 20th arrondissement, there was a doctor named Fugumi who ran a private clinic.

This Dr. Fueguchi had long ago privately contacted the CCG, exchanging information about his associates for his own safety. Normally, Mado Kureo wouldn't be interested in such shady dealings within the 20th Ward branch, but Dr. Fueguchi, out of some fear, provided some interesting information.

Among them was news about Jason, an S-class ghoul who had wandered over from the 13th ward!

The difference between Huang Quan's idea and Huang Quan's idea is that...

Mado Kureo's plan wasn't to systematically capture [Oogami] to lure [Jason], but rather to capture [Jason] first, extract information from him, and then use that information to deal with [Oogami]. Before that, letting [Oogami] and [Jason] interact and observe each other was a good idea.

"Then this bastard is yours to keep. Don't just chop him up, though."

With a flick of her finger, a photograph flew across the smooth conference table and landed directly in Huang Quan's hand. Her eyes, behind her sunglasses, flashed with a sharp, dangerous light as she slowly nodded.

Chapter 18 Doctor Fueguchi

A light drizzle has been falling incessantly; since yesterday afternoon, a persistent overcast sky has enveloped Tokyo. Such weather is rare, and few people enjoy going out unless absolutely necessary.

Even ghouls.

Exceptional senses, without specific training, cannot effectively filter out the overwhelming noise and information in the rain, only making actions sluggish. In contrast, a white dove wielding a quinque often thrives in this environment, able to deal with ghouls more calmly and efficiently.

But Huang Quan doesn't like this kind of bad weather.

Because then she wouldn't be able to hear the ghoul's dying words, which is probably a drawback. Sometimes, the speed at which she draws her sword is too fast, and the result is that the ghoul dies too quickly to hear any valuable last words.

This is why Mado Kureo said something like, "Don't just cut him down."

Unlike other investigators, Yomi rarely engages in prolonged combat. She pursues speed and precision beyond the limits, and there's no need to waste time and energy entangled with a ghoul she can kill with a single strike. If a stalemate occurs, it usually means Yomi is in a tough fight!

"Welcome... Uh!!"

Upon seeing Yomi holding an umbrella at the door, Dr. Fueguchi, who had assumed it was a patient, froze. He didn't recognize Yomi, but as a ghoul doctor in the 20th ward, he had his own network of informants, and he knew about the terrifying crows appearing in the 20th ward. He never dreamed that the uninvited guest who would one day visit him would be one of the crows, Sword Demon.

"Are you surprised to see me, Dr. Fueguchi?"

Huang Quan folded his umbrella and shook it twice, then looked around at the very simple little clinic.

The small clinic was filled with the pungent smell of disinfectant, but the first impression was that it was very clean and tidy, with various medicines displayed in the cabinets and windows.

Dr. Fueguchi watched nervously as the silver-haired, red-eyed girl walked into the clinic.

Even though he claimed to be a ghoul, he instinctively felt a heart-pounding fear when facing the sword demon Yomi, as if multiple invisible blades were already pressed against his vital points, causing a dull stinging pain while fearing that she might suddenly do something to him.

"Please, please state your purpose!" The kind-faced Dr. Fueguchi lowered his head and shouted somewhat awkwardly after being swept by Huang Quan's seemingly tangible gaze.

“I’m very interested in Jason. Dr. Fueguchi…” Huang Quan removed his sunglasses, revealing a pair of scarlet eyes that radiated an ominous rhythm. “…Can you tell me why you know about Jason from District 13?”

Even though they were trembling with fear, they stood in the doorway to the inner room.

What exactly gave this barely B-rank ghoul the courage to stand before the infamous Sword Demon?

"Sorry, but not pursuing the source of the information should be a prerequisite for cooperation, right..." His voice was clearly lacking in confidence and trembling. When Dr. Fueguchi noticed that Huang Quan's indifferent and calm gaze was looking past him into the inner room, he immediately moved his body to block the doorway. This action made Huang Quan's lips curl into a playful smile.

"Dr. Fueguchi, you seem to have misunderstood something. If you don't explain clearly, I'm going to be very troubled."

Huang Quan crossed his arms over his chest, and the indifference emanating from his scarlet eyes gradually filled the small clinic with a chilling, rusty smell.

"First of all, I am not White Dove of the 20th District branch, but a member of the Raven, a special team directly under the 1st District headquarters. So what kind of deal you made with White Dove of the 20th District has nothing to do with me. I have been very patient in talking to you, do you understand, Dr. Fueguchi?"

Dr. Fueguchi was startled!

He knew about the terrifying rumors circulating among ghouls about the sword demon, Yomi. Legend had it that this death crow, which flapped its wings in the streets of Tokyo at night, would ruthlessly kill any ghoul it spotted.

Whether the ghoul she encountered was an old man or a child, a ruthless predator or a gentle scavenger, no ghoul ever hesitated when her sword appeared!

"Secondly, thanks to my boss, I can now memorize all of this. According to the Ghoul Countermeasures Act, Article 12, Section 1: Once it is confirmed that a target has activated their Kagune or Ghoul, they are identified as a Type 1 Special Alert Target, also known as a 'Ghoul'. Dr. Fueguchi, would you like me to see your Kagune or Ghoul?"

Her slender, jade-like fingers rested on the scabbard's seal on her back.

Although Yomi already knew that the other party was a genuine ghoul, she wouldn't actually draw her sword against him before completely breaking off relations. However, if Fueguchi was still thinking of playing both sides for comfort, and was so timid, then Yomi had no extra patience to waste on him.

She was determined to get information about Jason!

Dr. Fueguchi realized that the crow in front of him was not a carefree investigator like those in Ward 20, but a dangerous being who had traveled to various dangerous areas and had been thoroughly tempered by death and bloodshed.

She has been kind enough...

“Yes, I’m sorry, I got too carried away… Jason once commissioned me to make some tools, and he was very satisfied with my craftsmanship, so we kept in touch through his subordinates.”

"He commissioned you to forge weapons?"

"They're not weapons for killing, but rather some instruments that won't cause fatal harm." A little afraid of being caught by the Sword Demon for harming humanity, Dr. Fueguchi quickly offered this excuse. To bolster the credibility of his statement, he hastily retrieved the design blueprints for the so-called instruments from a drawer.

Pliers, tweezers, forks, finger cots, and a bunch of other odds and ends, including specially made syringes.

Using these things to kill is a bit of a stretch, even for the Yellow Springs. Besides, a ghoul's kagune is more reliable than other weapons, so these devices are either for killing enemies or...

"A ghoul who prefers playing to eating? No wonder he's called Jason. He must be able to easily break humans."

S-Class Ghoul [Jason].

A dangerous ghoul who was once imprisoned in Ward 23 but successfully escaped. It is said that he once ate his own kind, which is why his kagune has become extremely terrifying. He enjoys torturing his opponents and forces his victims to remain conscious and not break down during torture. He particularly appreciates the rich emotions displayed by his victims.

【大食】is a ferocious gluttony, 【美食家】is a twisted morbidity, then 【杰森】is a demon of the utmost wickedness.

After learning a little about the new enemy, Yomi immediately listed him as a ghoul target she would kill on sight, just like Rize Kamishiro.

When was the last time Jason contacted you?

"Several months ago, I don't know why he suddenly came to District 20. That's all I know. Please, please let me go...!" Doctor Fueguchi trembled. He only hoped that the Sword Demon would spare his life. He just wanted to live peacefully.

Chapter Nineteen Fishing

"According to Article 12, Paragraph 2 of the Ghoul Countermeasures Law: Individuals identified as 'ghouls' are not protected by any law. Ghoul investigators have the right to take any action against them without prosecution, provided it is for the protection of humanity! Therefore, Dr. Fueguchi..."

Huang Quan's hand, which had been resting on the sword sheath, seemed to tighten slightly.

Terrified by the exceptionally strong killing intent of the Yellow Springs, Dr. Fueguchi felt as if he were a flying insect caught in a spider web, and even his breathing gradually became stagnant amidst the intense killing intent!

Dr. Fueguchi's eyes were trembling violently; intense fear nearly destroyed his will.

Even though he was terrified, his legs trembling uncontrollably, he instinctively stood in front of the doorway leading to the inner room. Seemingly sensing the chilling murderous aura emanating from the outer room, a childish voice cried out in alarm, but it was immediately muffled and forcibly interrupted. Huang Quan finally walked up to Doctor Fueguchi, sword in hand.

He was clearly a head shorter than Dikou.

Standing in front of him, I felt that he completely occupied my field of vision, leaving no room for anything else.

*Thud!*

The sudden, cold, hard touch on his shoulder was the last straw that broke the camel's back. With a clatter, Dr. Fueguchi's legs buckled, and he knocked over the table and chairs, falling to his knees on the ground.

"Uuuuuuuuuuu!!"

The angry struggles and sobs coming from the inner room were like the mournful cries of a young beast whose loved ones had been taken away.

"...Just keep picking up your corpses, Dr. Fueguchi. I'll be watching you ghouls from the sky like a crow. Go ahead and attack humans if you want; you can try and see if my sword is faster or if you can escape faster."

He slowly sheathed his longsword.

Huang Quan put his sunglasses back on his nose, and it seemed that once those ominous crimson eyes were covered, the clinic returned to its original ordinary and peaceful state.

Dr. Fueguchi, her eyes still filled with fear and confusion, shuddered at these words. She opened her umbrella, and her figure in the white coat quickly disappeared into the gray rain. Before leaving, Yomi glanced almost imperceptibly into the inner room; the two presences hidden there remained hidden.

'Family?'

The cool rain occasionally dripped onto her face. Huang Quan, who had just come from the small clinic, could easily tell from the aura that the two ghouls hiding in the inner room were the two ghouls. Having spent so much time together, they had already been infected by each other's aura.

'You're such an eyesore. Do you monsters even know what family is...' Huang Quan recalled the scene of Diekou kneeling in front of him without moving, and felt a little annoyed.

She hadn't felt this way in a long time.

Since throwing herself into the brutal battlefield, fighting ghouls with workaholics like Mado Kureo without much rest, Yomi had long since become indifferent to the ease with which life could be destroyed. She wasn't fighting for any grand cause; the unknown system and the terrifying ghouls were like the Sword of Damocles hanging over her head, threatening her with death at any moment.

Huang Quan's heart was touched by the ghouls today, and a sense of confusion that shouldn't have appeared in a swordsman enveloped her.

Huang Quan, who had been walking briskly towards her patrol duty, suddenly stopped and turned to run quickly in the opposite direction. Huang Quan remembered—that ghoul was the doctor!
