Neither the Crow nor the King of Cards arrived on time.

He could understand the philandering, mustachioed man; he was probably still lost in a drunken stupor on some girl's belly from last night. As for [Crow], this woman who exuded a dangerous aura, she didn't seem like the type to be unpunctual. Could it be that this damned mission was destined to be full of twists and turns even before it began?

Just as [Shadow Demon] was getting a little anxious, he suddenly sensed that something in the shadows had opened its eyes, its mind clear and its demeanor calm as it surveyed the entire scene. This feeling of having every move exposed to this gaze was anything but pleasant.

At the same time this silent gaze was taking place.

The train slowly pulled into the station, puffing out a large amount of thick smoke.

A middle-aged man in military uniform jumped off the train without it coming to a complete stop, landing steadily on the edge of the platform. With a touch of roguishness, the officer looked up and saw the fluttering playing cards; a figure was slowly emerging from the depths of the flying cards.

This move clearly stunned the officer, who instinctively opened his mouth wide.

"Soldier, are you here to pick us up?"

The "Card King," who made a unique entrance, was leisurely adjusting his collar, a conspicuous red mark on his neck. It was clear that this dashing "Card King" had enjoyed a memorable night out, otherwise he wouldn't have used his abilities to travel.

"Yes, sir." The officer gave a not-so-standard salute, looking at the superhuman who had just emerged from the smoke with great curiosity.

"Sir?"

[Card King] gave the officer a strange look. He remembered that he was already a special agent of the Allied Powers, so it wasn't inappropriate to call him a superior.

It's ironic that a cowboy from the West would one day become a "commander".

Verify their identities and present them. [Card King] and [Ghost Shadow] are easily identifiable; simply compare their features. They both use code names, not their real names, because in the West, and indeed throughout the entire supernatural world, having one's real name known is a potentially dangerous matter.

If someone is so deranged as to try and take you down with them, your real name can still be very useful.

The officer glanced at the two documents and realized that one person was still missing.

"Mr. Shadow, when will your last companion arrive at the platform? We don't have much time."

Just as [Shadow] was about to say something, she suddenly caught a glimpse through the glass window of the train of [Crow], who was gently blowing on a cup of coffee. She raised the coffee and gave the people outside the window an elegant and perfect smile.

Chapter Six: Enduring the Mud

It's often said that a woman can create a completely different look with just one outfit.

When [Shadow] and [Card King] entered the carriage, they were both struck by the beautiful woman sitting gracefully by the window.

Huang Quan, preparing for a long journey today, wore a white hooded cape over a neat lace shirt. Her elastic jeans clung tightly to her body, revealing her alluring figure in the tighter areas. A blend of heroic spirit and danger emanated from her; she was like the sunset over a western desert, the wind and sand creating a mesmerizing scene.

Though withered and decaying, it contains a kind of poignant beauty that people yearn for!

"Wow, beautiful lady! May I have the honor of traveling with you on this journey?"

Upon entering the carriage, the "King of Cards" immediately spoke in an exaggerated tone. The usually stern and aloof "Crow" was so alluring that even the self-proclaimed "King of Cards" had to admit he had misjudged him.

"Please have a seat, gentlemen."

Huang Quan raised her rounded chin, revealing her slender, snow-white neck, as white as a swan.

Her unique sharp and aloof aura extinguished the scheming thoughts of the "Card King" who was initially eager to try his luck. Having seen many types of women, he knew that a woman like "Crow," who exuded an aura of death, might have a serious mental illness.

But then again.

Which superhuman being who can survive in a lawless place like the West doesn't have psychological problems?

"Where are your weapons?" Without any ceremony, [Shadow Demon] sat down directly opposite Huang Quan. Habitually observing the surroundings, [Shadow Demon] noticed that Huang Quan had no luggage and did not appear to be hiding any weapons.

A widely circulated anecdote in the Western supernatural world.

The crow has no weapons.

This anecdote mainly tells the story of how the Raven often fought without using any weapons, managing to defeat some fools with his bare hands. Over time, this became a joke that the Raven was unarmed, but in reality, the Raven did indeed have weapons.

"It's always been with me." Huang Quan tapped her fingers lightly on the table in front of her. This was a clever use of transferring power; she maintained a portable storage space, which was very convenient for her daily life.

【Shadow】 raised an eyebrow but didn't continue the conversation. Instead, he pulled his tall felt hat down, seemingly not intending to waste his energy on idle chatter on the train. 【Card King】, on the other hand, poured himself a full glass of wine, raised it to the two of them, and leisurely prepared to admire the beautiful scenery of the desolate desert for a while.

With a long whistle, the train slowly started moving.

The scenery on both sides kept receding, and the swirling sandstorms were exceptionally magnificent and beautiful. [Card King] slowly whistled a light, cheerful tune, telling people about the beauty and ruggedness of the West with a unique charm. His eyes, which seemed to hold a story, seemed to recall a companion worth remembering, and the whistle carried a touch of melancholy.

Huang Quan was also somewhat moved by the scene.

In the vast Gobi Desert of the West, he wore a cowboy hat, a cigar dangling from his lips, a revolver tucked into his waistband, and held the reins in his right hand. His face, weathered and worn, was illuminated by the setting sun. In the West, a place of unbridled passion and vengeance, many precious things were often lost in the flames of war and the pursuit of wealth.

In the end, only the victors are left with a desolate emptiness.

………………

After a long while, the officer from before came to the carriage from the front.

"Gentlemen and beautiful ladies, we'll be leaving the desert soon. We'll stop for a military check-up along the way, but we'll handle everything. If all goes well, you'll be able to enjoy a delicious devil's meat dinner at the airport tonight," the officer joked with a touch of humor.

"Devil meat" actually refers to luncheon meat.

Because the soldiers' rations consisted of canned luncheon meat, canned luncheon meat, canned luncheon meat, and more canned luncheon meat, eating the same flavor all day long would make them feel nauseous and vomit at the sight of canned luncheon meat. Hence, luncheon meat was also known as devil meat.

"Airport? Are we taking a plane to depart?"

[Shadow] suddenly took off the hat covering her face. To be honest, flying is not safe these days.

With war raging all over the world, a plane might be shot down by an overly anxious ally, even if it isn't shot down by the enemy. Such farcical incidents have happened before.

"Yes, sir. You will be taking a large transport plane from the secret airport to your destination. My mission is to guide you safely to the airport."

"Young man, you seem a little unhappy?" [Card King] smiled kindly at the officer. As a highly skilled con artist, reading people's expressions was fundamental. Gaining favor with others was no different. Under [Card King's] strong prompting, the officer quickly revealed the truth.

“That’s right, sir. It’s because I regret that I can’t go to the battlefield with you. I heard from the brothers in other units that we suffered a serious defeat in our battles with the enemy, and even the captain was punished. In Casablanca, many scientists couldn’t be saved…”

The officer gave a wry smile and solemnly saluted the three men.

Discipline among superiors and subordinates in the U.S. military has always been relatively lax and free; only genuine respect warrants a solemn salute. These three special personnel from the West were going to the battlefield, and he held them in the highest esteem. After saluting, the officer turned and left the carriage. Huang Quan looked up and glanced at his disappearing figure.

"It seems the Justice League's situation is even worse than what the priest told us."

Huang Quan seemed to be deep in thought. The German special operations team must be very strong, otherwise they wouldn't have been able to deal such a heavy blow to the Justice League.

"The Justice League? Ha, just a bunch of rabble. They're trying to defeat a brutal and ruthless enemy by taking things for granted in a comfortable environment. Failure is inevitable. And that Captain America who's been going around showing off in different states, trying to become the leader, huh? More people will die."

After kicking his spurs boots, [Shadow] bluntly stated his opinion.

Regardless of what others think, he's determined not to deal with the Justice League. He'll complete the mission swiftly and decisively, sending the scorching shuttle into the enemy's head and heart, sending those demons back to hell! Shadow has never forgotten that his wife's soul still suffers within the demon's lantern!

"Hopefully they'll welcome us~~" [Card King]'s lips curled into a charming smile, but his eyes remained highly rational and clear.

Huang Quan placed his hands, fingers interlaced, on his thighs.

"Since you prayed for rain, you must endure the mud."

Everything has a good side and a bad side; that has always been the case!

Chapter Seven: Fog City

Destination: London, the Fog City

The city, battered by relentless bombing, is riddled with deep, massive craters. The radial, mottled craters carpet the ground like random strokes of a paintbrush on a beautiful landscape. Even so, the faces of the city's inhabitants still bear the promise of a better future; they firmly believe victory will ultimately be theirs.

The days of relentless bombing are over.

With the Allied powers, who held a numerical advantage, repeatedly beating and bleeding out the Axis powers, the Allies had gained the upper hand on the main battlefield.

Post-war reconstruction work is in full swing.

This was the thriving scene presented to the aid workers who had traveled across the ocean. The power of industrial civilization was demonstrating its terrifying construction capabilities to the world.

"vomit!!"

As soon as he got off the plane, [Shadow], whose legs were weak, grabbed a trash can and vomited violently. The turbulence of the transport plane made his internal organs churn, and he felt as if his brain was about to be flung out at any moment. [Shadow], who had such a strange experience, vomited almost the entire way.

In contrast, the "King of Cards" was only a little pale and otherwise unharmed.

As for the Yellow Springs, needless to say.

With her half-demon body and unwavering will to cut through iron, she didn't even notice the slight jolt. In fact, it wasn't until she saw [Shadow Demon] vomiting uncontrollably that Huang Quan realized the environment was quite turbulent. The three people from the west all possessed superhuman physical abilities, so any discomfort they experienced could be endured.

After vomiting, [Shadow] calmed down a bit and finally managed to get out of that terrible state.

"Hey guys, I feel like I'm walking on cotton, like I'm about to sink into the ground." He looked at his two nonchalant companions and snorted unhappily.

"I simply can't believe it."

The King of Cards, stroking his mustache and habitually scanning his surroundings, was in high spirits. "Shadow Demon, I remember your Hell Horse runs much more intensely than this. You should be used to it."

Why don't you go ask God, you conman?

The relationship between Shadow and Card King was clearly not good; they wouldn't have acted together if it weren't for the mission. As the two men argued endlessly over trivial matters, like two uncivilized barbarians, Huang Quan looked towards the distant Big Ben Clock Tower as if sensing something.

Curious glances, devoid of malice, came from above!

Huang Quan's gaze suddenly sharpened, a tangible red light emanating from her crimson pupils! The young boy observing the three visitors from the Big Ben clock tower, his eyes radiating a deep, strange light, suddenly! His eyes bulged uncontrollably outwards! A hazy, blood-red hue obscured his vision!

In this extremely ominous crimson, he saw a tall figure looking down at him with cruelty. The next moment, the blood-red sword light that devoured everything almost dragged him into an endless abyss!

"what!!!"

………………

"Stop!" A voice, both surprised and angry, came from the side as the Yellow Springs stripped the observer of their consciousness.

A bright blue light suddenly exploded, heading straight for the Yellow Springs! However, it was completely blocked and absorbed halfway by a playing card that also shimmered with a ghostly blue light!

"Is this how the Justice League entertains its guests?" The card master deftly twirled the playing cards, their colors shifting and changing in a dazzling display.

In a brief exchange, their relative strengths were immediately apparent!

The King of Cards easily suppressed the newcomer, appearing completely at ease. Meanwhile, Huang Quan had already seized control of the spy's consciousness. This reckless fellow actually dared to try and peer into her mind. If she hadn't suppressed her instinct to retaliate, the other party's consciousness would have been annihilated, leaving not even ashes.

This unusual encounter immediately attracted the attention of the air force base's conventional forces.

Within ten seconds, the long guns and short cannons had locked onto the group!

The soldiers exuded a murderous aura, as if they had just retreated from a brutal battlefield. Their resolute and courageous eyes left no doubt that they had the courage to pull the trigger. Many more gun barrels were locked on the three men from the west. Faced with a scene that would terrify most people, the three men, weathered and worn, seemed unfazed. Instead, they used the dangerous moment to observe their comrades' expressions.

In fact, they all have the power to escape safely from here, or to simply resolve the situation here.

"Ms. Alice, do you need any help?"

A British soldier shouted at the woman with a bright blue hue on her wrist. This European woman was dressed in fine clothes, with a velvet shawl draped over her shoulders, exuding an elegant and noble air. Her face was grim as her gaze swept back and forth between the three powerful superhumans.

"Please let go, Lin." Alice looked earnestly into Huang Quan's eyes and stated her request.
