If the malice in the ghoul world is merely the brutal slaughter between species, then there is still a glimmer of warmth.

The malice in that world of Divine Comedy is simply, without reason, a desire to destroy everything!

Ignorance is a blessing; the more truth one knows, the deeper the despair one feels for this world. What truly leaves Huang Quan speechless is that both the Axis and Allied powers have their eyes on the malevolent forces of the "world's inner side." It seems Nazi Germany has already gained initial control of these forces; otherwise, the Allies wouldn't be in such a hurry. This world has already revealed just the tip of its iceberg to Huang Quan, its complexity and terror exceeding all expectations.

"Gods, ancient artifacts, and... malice from the depths of darkness. The so-called mysterious evolution must refer to this phenomenon's gradual attempt to erode reality. So, what is the key to causing this mysterious evolution?"

Slender fingers twirled the gemstone on the bracelet.

Huang Quan habitually began to think.

Judging from the behavior of the ghoul world, the system's mission is by no means unfounded. The "Golden Dawn" mission is a hint; even if Yomi doesn't take the mission, she can still conduct her own analysis based on the hint.

In fact, Huang Quan had already anticipated this.

It was simply that both the Allies and the Nazis were vying for unconventional power, ultimately leading to an arms race and disastrous consequences. As for the severity of the consequences, that's beyond Huang Quan's current comprehension.

On the other hand, Huang Quan didn't feel any sense of belonging to the world of Divine Comedy. From her first stop in this world to the American West, she received very little kindness in return; she saw far more malice. Huang Quan genuinely disliked this world and had no desire to change it.

Just let things take their natural course.

Just as Huang Quan was about to lie down, he suddenly remembered something, and a glint of light flashed in his crimson eyes.

With a gentle flick of his left hand, crimson magical energy tore an irregular rift in the air, from which he pulled a thick stack of documents. His fingers swished through them, and Huang Quan's eyes rapidly searched for the information he sought. This was the information currently unlocked in the Casablanca campaign.

She remembered that before they set off, the soldier who was in charge of picking them up had casually mentioned a very important piece of information!

the scientist!!

Oppenheimer…

The Allied intelligence revealed the name of the deceased scientist, a name that left Huang Quan both amused and bewildered. The renowned Oppenheimer, a key figure in the Manhattan Project, the father of America's nuclear bomb. Could the research into this famous weapon of mass destruction in human history have been aborted with Oppenheimer's death?

It's unlikely to be abandoned, as the research has already progressed to 1945, the end of World War II, but what happens next is uncertain.

Huang Quan considered many possible future events, but she wasn't sure if her guesses were correct. No one could understand Huang Quan's feelings at this moment. She had come to a world with a similar history but one that had changed, and the sense of powerlessness and helplessness she felt when facing the overwhelming tide of history was something that could never be erased.

………………

The Prometheus team successfully returned to the real world.

After establishing contact with Allied Headquarters, Lin, as the temporary leader, reported on everything that had happened when the squad accidentally entered the [World's Inner Side]. Allied Headquarters, seemingly having anticipated this, ordered Lin to continue leading the team on their original mission.

Shatter the Nazis' delusion of an "immortal army"! Seize the "Cube"!

If necessary, all allied forces in the area can be called upon, and all allied forces within their authorized scope will do their utmost to assist the Prometheus team and the Justice League.

During their time venturing into the [World's Inner Side], it seems bad news has emerged from the front lines...

The handsome boy Lin took over Alice's important task!

People initially had doubts about whether Lin was capable of the position, after all, he was just a teenager with a delicate and youthful appearance. However, Lin handled everything in a methodical and orderly manner, successfully impressing everyone with his abilities.

But Lin also has his own troubles.

That was the trio from the West, practically detached from the rest of the group compared to the more approachable fairytale girl duo. There was the cunning and shrewd Mr. Card Master, the hot-tempered Mr. Shadow, and the icy and aloof Ms. Raven. Ms. Raven, in particular, showed absolutely no interest in interacting; even her companions from the West would only offer a perfunctory greeting.

If this continues, the execution of future missions will truly depend solely on their individual abilities.

"Hey……"

Sitting in the control room, Lin couldn't help but sigh. He really couldn't do his job as well as his sister Alice.

Lin also had a document spread out beside him.

The text reads: "...On the Eastern Front, a number of army soldiers have mysteriously disappeared...The evidence from the scene suggests animal bites...Preliminary investigation indicates the work of the Hydra...The Undead Legion...Zombies, ghosts...The Soviet First Squad and the Justice League are searching..."

There is not much time left for them.

The enemy has begun to use unconventional forces on a large scale to intervene in the battlefield, and what is terrifying is that the Allies have never been able to find out how the Nazis used this unconventional force.

The Allies also attempted to use unconventional forces on a large scale, similar to the Nazis, but the results were unsatisfactory.

What went wrong?

"Sir, message from Allied Headquarters." The voice of an operator in the control room interrupted Lin's thoughts.

"Connect".

Lin subconsciously adjusted his posture, but the voice coming from the other end of the headset made him look surprised. It wasn't the voice of the high-ranking British officer from Allied headquarters, but rather…

"Lin, a member of the Justice League, I am the captain."

Captain America!!!

This legendary figure destroyed several secret Hydra strongholds, saved many prisoners of war who were about to die, and enjoyed amazing prestige among the Allied forces! His outstanding personal charisma also made him a heroic figure, and even though they belonged to different countries, Lin had a strong sense of admiration for the captain.

"Please speak," Lin said calmly, as always.

"Lin, I need your team's help. What I'm about to say is crucial, so please listen carefully before making a decision."

P.S.: I've been lazy this month. Starting next month, I'll update three times a day. If I can't do that, I'll cut off my hands!

Chapter Nineteen: The Captain's Request

"...While tracking the Undead Legion, we were attacked by the Hydra and a special operations team. They used the power of the Undead Legion to hinder us, and we had to stop our pursuit to deal with these undead. One of them is controlling the Undead Legion, and we've locked onto him!!"

In the communication on the other end of the headset, the captain's voice was interspersed with inhuman, shrill screams and the rattling of gunfire.

The situation on the captain's side is definitely much worse than he described!

He also directly contacted his friends at Allied headquarters to confirm which forces could provide support to him recently. Missing out on the target he had finally captured would undoubtedly be another crushing defeat for the Justice League in its battle against the Nazis!

“But we must deal with these undead to move forward. My sense of justice won’t allow me to abandon the innocent! I know this request is unreasonable, but Lin, I need you to intercept that person. He’s heading towards your area. He carries crucial information about the Undead Legion!… Information obtained at the cost of many lives. I beg you to help me!”

The Prometheus squad has its own mission.

The military order is like a mountain!

Lin never dreamed that he would one day face a military court. If he agreed to the captain's request, he would most likely have to bear all the consequences.

Whether the outcome is good or bad!

"Captain, I..." Lin subconsciously wanted to refuse the captain's request, but he couldn't finish his sentence.

If Alice were here, she would definitely make the right choice.

Silent choices are the ultimate test of one's will, and Lin was the only one in the team who knew the situation. He admitted that he couldn't bear the immense pressure; he had to obey the orders from Allied headquarters. Lin slowly breathed a sigh of relief and gave his reply into his headset.

"...I'm sorry, Captain, but I cannot allow my team to abort its ongoing mission unless ordered by Allied Headquarters."

"..."

On the other side, Captain America looked somber. He had no right to order Lin to abandon his mission and help him. On this cruel and merciless battlefield, everyone had their own mission, and the captain could only lament his own powerlessness, unable to stop the evil happening on this land.

The captain gritted his teeth and clenched his fists. There must be another way! We absolutely cannot let the target escape!

“However, as a member of the Justice League, Captain, I am personally happy to accept your orders to intercept the target.” Suddenly, Lin’s voice came through the earpiece, and his good-natured laughter made the Captain smile as well.

………………

"Mr. Shadow, Miss Raven, and I will be leaving the airship temporarily. During this time, Rose will be in charge of the navigation, and Mr. Card Master will be in charge of observation. The planned return coordinates have been set. Ladies and gentlemen, we will meet again at the coordinates. Wish us luck!"

Standing at the open hatch, Lin's voice, carrying a parachute pack on his back, was severely distorted by the cold wind that rushed in.

After obtaining Huang Quan and Mo Ying's consent, he led the two away from the group to intercept the man Captain America had mentioned. As long as they intercepted the target before the airship reached the mission location and quickly returned to obtain information about the Undead Legion, Allied Headquarters would likely turn a blind eye.

"Lady Luck will smile upon you!"

The card player reached down and pulled his cowboy hat low, offering his parting words of blessing.

Lin opened his mouth, wanting to say something to the crowd, but the impatient demon grabbed him by the collar. "Let's go, little boy, don't get scared by the devil!"

He had barely finished speaking when he generously tossed the bewildered Lin out of the cabin entrance!

"Ahhhh!!!"

The high-decibel scream gradually subsided, piercing the strong wind. The shadowy figure clapped his hands, kicked off his spur boots, and then let out a loud whistle. Ignoring the complex expressions on the faces of those behind him, he too leaped from the cabin doorway. Poor Lin, he'll likely suffer severe psychological trauma from being thrown from the cabin.

"That's really rude."

After verbally reprimanding Mr. Shadow's behavior, Huang Quan stood at the hatch. With one step, a strong sense of weightlessness instantly overwhelmed her senses.

Falling directly from a great height without any protection was a first for me.

A fierce wind, sharp as a blade, whipped against her face, and Huang Quan, plummeting downwards, narrowed her piercing eyes. She saw Lin below, howling in anguish, and the demonic figure clutching his hat, seemingly unconcerned. This guy was laughing at the little boy; what a nasty character.

As Huang Quan plummeted downwards, two crimson magical energy beams extended from his back.

Like tasseled steel wings, they spread out beautifully and freely!

A crimson, ominous meteor plummeted from the sky. Huang Quan, now enveloped in a red glow, rapidly overtook the demonic shadow, even helping the poor little boy deploy his parachute as he passed Lin. Tracing a long, beautiful red arc, Huang Quan landed safely first, accompanied by a whistling wind.

Apart from a slight dent in the ground where I landed, there were no other marks.

With her increasingly refined control over magical energy, Huang Quan skillfully neutralized most of the force. This skill in manipulating energy far surpassed her clumsy state in the ghoul world.

The shadowy figure that lagged behind created a much more intense impact, crashing to the ground and creating a deep crater. Amidst the flying dirt, the shadowy figure dodged all the dust, its body billowing with burning smoke and its eyes gleaming with a terrifying fire!

As soon as he opened his mouth, a thick plume of smoke, still carrying sparks, shot out!

Even from a distance of hundreds of meters, the pungent sulfur smell emanating from the demonic figure was still clearly audible.

"Half of them are demons?"

Huang Quan's hoarse voice traveled on the wind into Mo Ying's ears, causing him to pause for a moment.

"I prefer to use the one that is half human."

Physically, Huang Quan and Mo Ying are quite similar. Both have had their bodies and souls corrupted and assimilated by power, and both have transformed themselves into monsters to achieve certain goals. The only difference is that one did it for salvation, and the other for revenge.

"Looks like we'll have to wait for the little boy soaring in the sky."

Looking up, he saw the white parachute being blown about by the wind, and the shadowy figure couldn't help but twitch slightly at the corner of his mouth. This was only a first-tier Lin, and his overall qualities were truly terrible. Although his character was commendable, his lack of strength was ultimately a hidden danger.

Chapter Twenty: Locating the Enemy

Suppressing one's instincts is a very painful thing.

Why make things complicated when you could do them easily? For example, you could simply raise your hand and have a cup fly to your hand, but instead you get up from your comfortable sofa and walk a few steps to get it. This causes not only physical discomfort but also psychological discomfort.

Since arriving in the world of Divine Comedy, Huang Quan has been suppressing his instincts.
