I Have a Mysterious Diary Author: Mysterious Xuan

If you received a diary that could predict the future

How would you use it?

This is the handwriting on the first note.

Do not open this diary.

Unless you're mentally prepared to die suddenly.

This is the handwriting on the second note.

The black diary with two notes pasted on it was in Chu Jiang's hands. After much deliberation, he finally slowly opened the cover.

......

A global paranormal resurgence has brought strange and mysterious things to life everywhere. This is the story of a dead man, which begins when he obtains a strange diary.

Chapter One: Predicting the Future?

Luoxi City, No. 7 Middle School, School Library.

Chu Jiang found himself in a dimly lit, secret room. He was utterly bewildered; how could there be such a strange place in the library?

At the same time, Chu Jiang recalled the plot of the more than 1,000 episodes of "Detective Conan" he had watched, and words like locked-room murder, library murder, and impossible crimes popped into his mind.

After feeling around on the walls and turning on the light, Chu Jiang discovered that it was a narrow, square little room.

There was no corpse in the room, only a desk with a mysterious, eerie black book on it.

It looks like a diary or notebook, with a dark black cover and a bloody handprint in the center. Fresh blood is slowly flowing down the handprint, which looks very creepy.

Chu Jiang hesitated for a moment, but still stepped forward to check.

Upon getting closer, he noticed two small notes pasted side by side on the book. The first note read:

If you received a diary that could predict the future

How would you use it?

The handwriting is delicate and gentle, seemingly written by a woman. At first glance, one can almost picture her warm greeting.

The second one reads:

Do not open this diary.

Unless you're mentally prepared to die suddenly.

The handwriting is crooked and twisted, and the writer seems to be very agitated and in pain. The words give people a sense of discomfort, as if they are about to lead them into an abyss.

Chu Jiang frowned slightly. To be honest, as a model student who grew up in the sunshine and was bathed in positive energy, he had never believed in ghosts or gods.

The idea that a single diary can curse someone to death is utterly absurd; as for predicting the future, that's even more outrageous.

“Future Diary?” Chu Jiang murmured to himself. It was an anime he had watched before.

Before Chu Jiang could carefully consider and analyze whether or not to open the diary, a faint ringing sound came from outside the secret room.

"Wait for the lights to come on? ~Wait for the lights to come on? ~"

Chu Jiang suddenly snapped out of his daze; the school bell had rung.

He took out his phone and checked the time. Before he knew it, it was already 2:30 in the afternoon. He couldn't skip this class.

Chu Jiang is currently a senior in high school, which is the most important time for his studies. If he dares to skip class, his homeroom teacher will call his parents in no time.

Putting away his phone, Chu Jiang hesitated for less than a second before picking up the black diary from the table.

Good, nothing happened. Chu Jiang immediately turned around and ran up the stairs of the secret room. Time was running out.

Running back to the ground, Chu Jiang moved an old bookshelf next to him back to its original position, which just covered the entrance to the secret room on the ground.

Then, holding the book in his hands, he rushed out as fast as he could!

As Chu Jiang passed the library entrance, he slammed on the brakes and waved the book in his hand at the bespectacled young man behind the counter; of course, he only showed the relatively plain back.

"Mr. Chen, I'm going to class now. I'll come back later to complete the book borrowing procedures. Thank you, goodbye!"

After speaking rapidly, Chu Jiang continued his death sprint toward the teaching building without looking back.

Chu Jiang and librarian Xiao Chen were old acquaintances, so he rushed past without any hindrance. If it were a stranger, it wouldn't have been so easy.

However, what Chu Jiang didn't notice was that Xiao Chen was different today. His face was pale, and his eyes were lifeless, like a cold corpse placed behind the counter.

......

After leaving the library, Chu Jiang ran all the way to the teaching building.

Today the sky is overcast, with low-hanging leaden clouds and not a ray of sunshine.

The school was very quiet; there wasn't even a whisper of wind, and you couldn't hear the cicadas chirping or the birds singing.

This puzzled Chu Jiang a little. He looked up and saw that the classrooms in the teaching building ahead were full of students; there were also several classmates around him who were rushing to their classrooms just like him.

He looked towards the school gate again. The security guard was yawning, carrying a thermos. There was no one outside the school gate fence. Over at the dormitory, several teachers were walking towards the teaching building, chatting and laughing. Everything seemed normal.

Shaking his head, Chu Jiang quickened his pace and headed to the third floor of the third teaching building, to Class 2 of Senior Three.

He had already spotted Ms. Yu, the English teacher, and needed to arrive before she reached the classroom.

......

Ten minutes later, Yu Fengmei, who has a sweet appearance and looks more like a student than a teacher, was pointing at the blackboard and explaining grammar to the students.

As for Chu Jiang, he sat in the second-to-last row by the window, ostensibly listening attentively to the lecture, but actually using the mountain of textbooks on his desk as a cover to study a mysterious diary.

This thing is really weird. The bloodstains on it look like they're seeping from the cover, but when Chu Jiang touches it, he finds that the blood is congealed, like some kind of crystal.

As for the two notes on top, he could easily tear them off, but he didn't know which was true and which was false.

Of course, the most likely explanation is... that it's all fake.

Chu Jiang glanced to the side; his deskmate, Li Yan, was drowsy and didn't pay any attention to him, not to mention the teacher.

After hesitating for a moment, Chu Jiang placed his finger on the cover of the diary.

He had always been a very curious person since he was a child, and even though he didn't believe any of the hints on it, he still had an urge to open it and take a look.

Moreover, although it seems like one step to heaven and one step to hell, the second warning doesn't say that death is inevitable; it just tells you to be mentally prepared.

After careful consideration, Chu Jiang finally took a deep breath and slowly opened the cover.

It was impossible for Chu Jiang not to be nervous while flipping through the diary; even his heart was beating slightly faster.

Especially at the moment he opened it, Chu Jiang suddenly had a strange feeling, as if the whole world had frozen for a moment.

But after calming down, he found that nothing unusual had happened. It seemed that he had just been too nervous and had some kind of illusion.

Chu Jiang looked around the classroom to make sure no one was paying attention to him before he seriously looked at the first page of the diary.

The thick pages of the diary are brownish-yellow, as if it has been around for many years, and only a few hastily written and messy sentences are recorded on it:

[November 17, Cloudy]

The school was haunted today; everyone died, including me.

Upon seeing the blood-red writing, Chu Jiang was stunned. For a moment, he wondered if he was dreaming.

This feeling of questioning life mainly stems from these few lines of text themselves...

This is Chu Jiang's own handwriting!

Chapter Two: The School is Haunted

Hey, stop joking, okay? How could he possibly write something like "The school is haunted and everyone is dead"?

For a moment, Chu Jiang suspected it was a prank. He even subconsciously looked around, wondering if some classmate or friend was deliberately imitating his handwriting to scare him.

It could be the librarian, Xiao Chen... That's unlikely; Mr. Chen isn't that kind of person.

After calming down, Chu Jiang began to re-examine the diary in his hand.

First of all, the handwriting is indeed his, although it is a bit messy, as if he wrote it in a hurry.

Secondly, Chu Jiang reached out and touched the glaringly red characters; the characters were actually wet, and a bloody smell could be detected when he got close...

This greatly increased Chu Jiang's unease and greatly reduced the possibility of a prank, because these few words seemed to have been written on the spot; he could even feel that the blood was warm, as if it had just flowed out of someone's body.

Suddenly, Chu Jiang closed the diary again. He looked at the bloody handprint on the cover, which seemed to have come to life at that moment.

When Chu Jiang touched it before, the blood seemed to be crystallized; but now, the blood on it is bright red and dripping.

Moreover, if you try to stand the book upright, you can clearly see blood flowing down, although it is slow, as if some strange power has not yet fully awakened.

Chu Jiang frowned... Wait, where's the note?

He suddenly realized the note was missing, and he immediately began searching his desk.

But those two little notes seemed to have vanished into thin air; they weren't on the desk, nor had they fallen to the ground. Things were getting increasingly out of control...

Chu Jiang looked gloomy. He gave up the search, opened the diary again, and examined the contents word by word.

To be honest, he started to get scared. Could the school really be haunted? Was he really going to die here today?

Furthermore, if the contents of the diary are true, then the hints on the two notes are also very likely true.

This makes the situation very bad. Today is September 17th, and there are only nine hours left until the end of the day.

Even now, Chu Jiang didn't notice anything wrong at school; everything seemed normal inside the classroom and outside the window... No, the sky outside seemed even darker, as if night was falling faster—this wasn't normal...

"Teacher, I'm not feeling well. Can I go to the infirmary?" Chu Jiang suddenly stood up and raised his hand, his face pale.

The petite Yu Fengmei glanced at the boy and noticed a few beads of sweat on his forehead, which she assumed were genuine.
