[Damn it, when I get back I must ask the teacher to give those old bastards a good beating.]

With a fierce thought in her heart, Nanjo Ai began to consider how to make up for the current situation.

P.S., It's been a whole day and I haven't received a single monthly pass or a single reward. I'm so sad. Please give me monthly passes and rewards!

P.S. Regarding the extra chapter, I noticed there wasn't much of a reaction, so I realized there might be some readers who don't want to read it. Therefore, here's the second poll: readers who don't want to read the extra chapter, please raise your hands. If the number of hands exceeds the number of votes for the extra chapter, we won't write it and will instead add an extra chapter.

Chapter Fourteen Tea

Just as Nanjo Ai was pondering a solution, Yuan Yuan took out several different small metal devices from the little girl's right shoulder, the inside of her two thighs, and the left side of her neck, which scattered on the ground and made a clanging sound.

The little girl, who was originally a bit slow but still had a serious expression, had completely turned into a clueless goose. Staring blankly at the various monitors on the ground, Hongye couldn't understand why such things were inside her body.

Hongye was only five years old, still a little girl. Although the brutal training made her a qualified warrior capable of fighting Gastrea, it did not give her much life experience, to the point that she had no concept of "conspiracy" at all.

Looking at the dazed red leaves, and then at Nanjo Ai, whose face was pale and who seemed lost in thought, Yuan Yuan realized that he seemed to be subtly ignored. This somewhat novel feeling made Yuan Yuan involuntarily twitch the corners of his mouth and reveal a faint smile.

With a faint smile, Yuan Yuan handed his teacup to Hongye and said softly,

"Here, have a sip."

The two, who were already lost in their own world, only came back to their senses when they heard Yuan Yuan's words.

Realizing she had been daydreaming in front of Yuan Yuan, Nanjo Ai's forehead broke out in a cold sweat. [Oh no! I've already offended Mr. Yuan Yuan, and now I've been daydreaming in front of him! What am I going to do? What am I going to do? But Mr. Yuan Yuan doesn't seem angry, so maybe things can still turn around. I can't give up! I can't give up! Come on, Ai! You can definitely get through this!]

Compared to Nanjo Ai's complex inner thoughts, Kokoro's thoughts were much simpler. Although she didn't know why Yuan Yuan wanted her to drink that green hot water, she had been instructed to "obey all of Yuan Yuan's orders" when she left the training base, so she took the teacup from Yuan Yuan's hand without any hesitation and only took a sip as Yuan Yuan had instructed.

After taking a sip of tea, the little girl immediately noticed something was wrong. For an ordinary child of the curse, if the source of the virus wasn't a Gastrea with strong regenerative abilities like a slug, it would take five minutes to heal a minor wound. However, due to the electrical currents in her body, her recovery speed was at the level of an ordinary regenerative child of the curse, which was three minutes. But after drinking the tea, Hongye discovered that the wounds on her body inflicted by Yuan Yuan were healing even faster.

You should know that although the wounds Yuan Yuan inflicted did not look big, the two wounds on his thighs were actually quite deep. If they had healed naturally, Hongye estimated that it would have taken about five minutes. However, after drinking that green hot water, they were completely healed in just one minute. How could she not be surprised?

Although the little girl only knew how to fight and had no understanding of economics or military matters, she knew that having such a thing would make her safer when fighting the terrifying Gastrea. However, Hongye quickly realized that she had no right to ask Yuan Yuan for anything, so she quickly adjusted her emotions and resumed her somewhat dazed expression.

Momiji had composed herself, but Nanjo Ai didn't share her composure. As Momiji was a gift for Yuan Yuan, Nanjo Ai had thoroughly researched her background, and was fully aware of Momiji's recovery speed. Wounds that, according to the data, would take considerable time to heal, had completely healed in a short time. Nanjo Ai could easily imagine how frantic those old fogies would go if word of this product's effectiveness reached the ears of the higher-ups.

The thought that Yuan Yuan would drink such a precious thing as tea, and even invite her to drink it, made Nanjo Ai's heart clench, and her determination to repair her relationship with Yuan Yuan was strengthened.

The reason why the tea in Yuan Yuan's hands had such a good effect was not because he was brewing some kind of magical tea that takes thousands of years to grow a few leaves. The effect was purely due to the water used to brew the tea.

The water Yuan Yuan used to brew tea was actually an accidental byproduct of an experiment conducted by one of his Arrancar researchers. When he first discovered that this simple-to-make water could accelerate wound healing, this Arrancar, who hadn't yet escaped human common sense, was excited and thought he had discovered something valuable.

However, this Arrancar soon discovered that what he found was utterly useless in Hell. None of the creatures there needed it. Hollows and ghouls were races with astonishing regenerative abilities, capable of super-fast regeneration without it; chimeras went berserk in battle, fighting until they couldn't stand up anymore, so whether they recovered quickly or slowly after collapsing made little difference; as for the weapon races, they were even more amazing. If injured, they could simply transform back into weapons and then back into humans, instantly healing all their wounds. As long as they had spiritual energy, this unfair healing process could continue indefinitely.

Of course, most importantly, these inhabitants of hell, regardless of race, all share a common identity: vengeful beings. These beings, burdened by the chains of vengeance, prefer to commit suicide when injured rather than wait for slow recovery or drink potions to speed up healing, and then be resurrected at the bottom of hell fully healed.

Therefore, this water, or rather, potion, which could accelerate recovery, was once used to help laboratory animals responsible for breeding and producing offspring regain their energy. It wasn't until a fat man with the title of "Ultimate Chef" discovered that any beverage could be made more flavorful with this water, and that it could even make food more delicious when used to process ingredients, that this water entered the public eye.

Then, this water became the universal water in hell, equivalent to tap water in human society.

Having used this water for so long, Yuan Yuan had long forgotten its original effects. It wasn't until he saw the wounds on Hongye's body that he remembered the water he usually drank, which seemed to be able to speed up the healing of the wounds.

Yuan Yuan could naturally see Nanjo Ai's shock and longing for the tea in his cup, but he just smiled mischievously and, under Nanjo Ai's pained gaze, drank the rest of the tea in one gulp.

"Alright, now we should talk about these things."

Raising an eyebrow, Yuan Yuan pointed to several surveillance cameras on the ground and said in a somewhat cold tone.

Hearing Yuan Yuan's words, Nanjo Aisa, who was shocked by the magical tea, remembered that he still had a very important problem to solve.

Fortunately, thanks to her earlier emotional shift, Nanjo Ai was no longer as nervous as before. After calming herself down a bit, she quickly began to explain.

P.S., I'll try adding an extra chapter. I've added one, please give me a reward and votes!

Chapter Fifteen Directed Mutation

Nanjo Ai quickly relayed her previous conjectures to Yuan Yuan, who listened quietly without interrupting her until she finished speaking. Then, with a cold smile, he asked...

"I understand what you've said, but what I want to ask is, how do you plan to resolve this matter?"

"This, this..."

Nanjo Ai had prepared a whole host of explanations, but faced with Yuan Yuan's question, she was speechless. Even a fool could tell that those who dared to scheme against her, knowing who her teacher was, were undoubtedly veteran researchers unafraid of him. Her earlier statement about having her teacher teach them a lesson was nothing more than a verbal warning, at most demanding some compensation. But judging from Yuan Yuan's reaction, he clearly wouldn't be satisfied with such a solution, leaving Nanjo Ai in a dilemma.

“I am very disappointed that you, as my chosen partner, cannot even solve this kind of problem. This makes me doubt whether you are qualified to work with me.”

Although Yuan Yuan said he was disappointed, there was no disappointment on his face; his smile just became colder.

Upon hearing that Yuan Yuan intended to terminate the cooperation, Nanjo Ai immediately panicked. She had only established a relationship with Yuan Yuan three days ago and had gained the attention of her superiors because of it. If the cooperation broke down after only three days, she would definitely be labeled as "incompetent" by her superiors, which would ruin her future.

Having no solution in mind, Nanjo Ai naturally couldn't answer Yuan Yuan's question directly. She could only anxiously say things like, "Please give me a little more time. I'm sure I can find a solution that will satisfy you," and "Please, give me another chance. I promise I won't let this happen again."

Yuan Yuan waved his hand impatiently, and Nanjo Ai immediately shut her mouth and dared not make a sound.

Yuan Yuan frowned slightly, a hint of displeasure appearing on his face, and said,

"Although I really want to end our partnership, that's exactly what those scheming guys want, and I'm not going to let them have their way. So I'll give you a chance, and our partnership will continue for now."

Seeing that there was still a chance for things to turn around, Nanjo Ai finally breathed a sigh of relief, but she dared not relax at all, because she had just experienced too many disappointments and despairs. After such ups and downs, she felt that if she had to go through a few more of this, she might die young.

Yuan Yuan closed his eyes slightly, remaining silent as he lightly tapped his fingers on the table, producing a crisp tapping sound, seemingly deep in thought. Since Yuan Yuan didn't speak, Nanjo Ai naturally dared not utter a sound either; for a moment, the only sound in the empty room was Yuan Yuan's tapping.

A suffocating silence enveloped Nanjo Ai, causing her to instinctively clutch her clothes to her chest, as if her heart would leap out with each of Yuan Yuan's knocks.

After a long while, Yuan Yuan opened his eyes, looked at Nanjo Ai indifferently, and spoke calmly.

"I remember the information I gave you last time, it was about biological reproduction acceleration technology, right?"

Nanjo Ai nodded hastily. The life reproduction acceleration technology was the first technology Yuan Yuan traded to her in exchange for the destruction of a forest. It was precisely this technology, which allowed for the unlimited accelerated reproduction of humans, animals, and agricultural crops as long as conditions permitted, that earned her the attention of those in power.

"Then this time I'll give you another new research result, [Targeted Mutation Technology]. You should be able to tell what this technology is used for from the name, and you'll also understand how important it is in the development of biological weapons. I don't care how you operate it, I want you to use this technology to crush that guy who dared to scheme against me to the bottom."

As he spoke, a cold glint flashed in Yuan Yuan's eyes.

“They won’t learn their lesson unless I teach them a lesson they won’t learn. Also, don’t try to fool me. I have more than one source of information. If you dare to lie to me, I can elevate you to the heavens or cast you into hell.”

Although cold sweat streamed down her face, Nanjo Ai's eyes were filled with fanaticism. Just as Yuan Yuan had said, she could see the significance of this technology: targeted mutation meant that the government could create the modified creatures it needed, and at that time, neither the cursed children nor the mechanized warriors would stand aside.

Of course, Yuan Yuan's willingness to so readily hand over this seemingly high-end technology to an ordinary person with whom he has little connection is unlikely to be because he felt he had been outmaneuvered by a mortal and thus acted impulsively out of a fit of rage. Rather, it's because the technology is genuinely useless.

While targeted mutation technology may seem advanced and magical, it can only work on ordinary creatures without any mystique. In other words, this seemingly sophisticated technology is actually ineffective against Gastrea and the Cursed Children, which contain fragments of the ancient demon king's life force. It can only be used on ordinary creatures.

The limits that ordinary organisms can reach are very low. For example, if this technology were used to specifically enhance a human's strength, then when that human's strength reached the level described in martial arts novels—like splitting stone tablets—he would actually possess a slight mystical quality. At that point, targeted mutation technology would be useless to him.

Moreover, this technology is extremely complex. Transforming some of the simple magical devices recorded into equivalent scientific devices is a daunting and complicated process. Yuan Yuan's apparent closed-door contemplation was actually a rapid deduction of methods to transform simple magical devices into complex scientific devices.

Even Yuan Yuan considered it complex, so you can imagine how difficult it would be for human governments to understand it. By the time they discover the limits of this technology, the current mess will have already been settled.

Of course, unaware of the truth, Nanjo Ai's mind was already preoccupied with how to use this technology to elevate her status and suppress those old guys who dared to target her.

"Mr. Yuan Yuan, please rest assured, I will resolve this matter as quickly as possible."

Yuan Yuan glanced at Nanjo Ai indifferently, offering no response to her declaration of resolve, and instead turned and walked into a nearby room. Once out of Nanjo Ai's sight, Yuan Yuan pulled a stack of printed documents from his chest, or rather, from his hellish depths. He then turned and walked back into the living room, pretending to retrieve documents from his room, before tossing them in front of Nanjo Ai.

"Okay, you can go."

After several encounters, knowing that Yuan Yuan disliked idle chatter, Nanjo Ai didn't say much. She picked up the documents, politely said goodbye, and quickly left.

After Nanjo Ai left, Yuan Yuan turned to look at Hongye, who was standing silently behind him. He smiled uncomfortably, gestured for her to follow, and then turned and walked towards a room on the side.

Chapter Sixteen: What Would You Choose?

Kikujiro groggily opened his eyes, intending to stretch, only to discover to his surprise that he couldn't move his body. Startled, the somewhat sluggish man finally came to his full senses.

Looking at his body with a slightly flustered expression, Kikujiro realized that there was nothing wrong with his limbs; he was simply locked to the wall by some kind of leather shackles, which was why he couldn't move.

Although he was certain that he was not physically injured, Kikujiro could not relax. After regaining his senses, he remembered that he had recently been imprisoned for malicious murder and should be in an underground prison in Tokyo. However, he was now locked in a pure white room that looked very abnormal. This strange situation made it impossible for him to relax.

Just as Kikujiro was wondering where he was, the pale white wall to his left suddenly slid open silently, revealing a pure white door. A tall, cold-faced young man, dressed in a white coat that perfectly matched the surroundings, strode in. Behind him followed a little girl dressed entirely in black, who looked only four or five years old and had a somewhat dazed expression.

Instinctively ignoring the seemingly harmless little girl, Kikujiro roared at the young man.

"Hey, you bastard, who are you? Let me go right now, or I'll crush your balls when I'm free!"

Yuan Yuan glanced indifferently at the sullen middle-aged man who hadn't yet realized what was happening, then lightly stomped his foot, setting a seemingly ordinary floor tile on the ground. Instantly, the four walls silently flipped open, revealing something hanging on the other side.

Dozens of different iron tools hung steadily on the wall. Some were extremely sharp and gleamed with a cold light, while others were dull and lifeless, but they all gave people a sense of weight and solidity.

Upon seeing these items, Kikujiro realized something was amiss, because these things looked exactly like murder weapons, or rather... torture instruments.

"Hey, who are you? What grudge do you have against me? Don't you know that taking the law into your own hands is illegal? Let me go right now, and I'll pretend I didn't see anything. Don't worry, I promise I won't tell anyone."

Kikujiro roared again, but this time his roar seemed somewhat blustering.

Ignoring Kikujiro's roar, Yuan Yuan patted Momiji's head, pointed to the various torture instruments on the four walls, and said softly,

"Come on, pick one at random and kill him."

Upon hearing Yuan Yuan's words, the fear that had been building up inside Kikujiro erupted instantly. He struggled frantically and futilely, begging Yuan Yuan to let him go.

But Yuan Yuan seemed not to hear him at all, not even glancing at him, and kept staring at the girl beside him.

Upon hearing Yuan Yuan's command, the girl trembled violently, fear flashing in her eyes, and almost instinctively uttered a sentence.

"We must never harm humans!"

As if afraid of angering Yuan Yuan, Hongye quickly added another sentence.

"The instructor said that we must never harm humans."

With his eyes slightly narrowed, Yuan Yuan placed his hands on Hongye's shoulders, slowly squatted down, and looked directly into her eyes, which were bloodshot with excitement, and asked softly,

"Did your instructor ever say that 'the master's orders must be obeyed'?"

The little girl trembled again, then slowly nodded.

"I did say that."

Yuan Yuan nodded in satisfaction.

"Then I'll say it one last time: kill him. If you really don't want to kill him, then kill yourself."

With that, Yuan Yuan stood up, looked at Hongye quietly, and stopped urging her.
