"He needs to eat!" Mozi shouted unwillingly.

Newton replied, "After the incident with Luo Ji, the hygiene requirements in Feng Taylor's residence are very high. The gene missiles would be killed by the sterilizing ultraviolet rays before they even reach Feng Taylor."

"Nuclear weapons are useless against him. To guard against nuclear weapons, he has now moved to a nuclear-proof facility hundreds of meters underground. It was an underground facility dug by the United States during the Cold War to guard against the Soviet Union's nuclear arsenal."

Einstein said, "Don't rush. Feng Taylor is different from Luo Ji. He is very arrogant. We can't hurt the Wallfacer hiding underground. We can lure this Wallfacer out."

"For example, breaking down the barriers in his plans."

One of the ETO members asked, "Isn't Feng Taylor's current plan exactly his true strategy?"

Einstein scoffed, "Isn't it strange that a defeatist is paving the way for humanity's victory? Feng Taylor simply doesn't believe that humanity can defeat the Trisolarans."

"But... if it's not paving the way for humanity's victory, what is his purpose?"

Someone asked again, and the person next to them asked in return.

"Got it, so it can still be called the Wall-Facing Project?"

Chapter 60 The Melancholy Palace Project

Alpha Centauri, the Three-Body world.

The governors held a meeting, the main purpose of which was to discuss matters related to the Melancholy Palace.

The Chief Administrator, who was also the leader of the Trisolarans, looked at the project that the Science Administrator had given him and read it aloud.

"The Cold Palace Project is an artificial creation of a closed environment where people's thoughts cannot be seen through, allowing the Trisolarans to imitate the closed thinking of humans. Based on this, it further helps the Trisolarans learn human deception and scheming."

The project was approved by the head of state, who was aware of it, but some of the officials present were not.

Before establishing communication with humans, the Trisolarans were unaware of 'deception', let alone its power, and their strategies were only applied in a very rudimentary way.

After learning about the 'deception', the leader was naturally extremely envious. No civilization would complain about its own weakness, and the Trisolarans were no exception. If they could learn to deceive, the Trisolarans would inevitably become stronger and their survival in the universe would become safer.

“I never approved of this project from the beginning, and as I predicted, humanity has used it to deceive the entire Trisolaran world,” said one of the governors.

This governor is an opponent. The Haruhi Project involves contact and communication with humans, which helps project participants mimic human thinking and learn to deceive more quickly.

However, doing so carries the risk of being exploited by humans.

Another governor countered, “It’s worth it. I believe that other civilizations in the universe must also have similar closed-minded thinking as humans. We have witnessed the power of strategy. We cannot always be the one with the technological advantage. If we encounter a powerful enemy, human strategy will be another means of preserving civilization.”

This governor was the proposer and staunch supporter of the Suzumiya Project.

Upon witnessing humanity's capacity for deception, the governor was gripped by extreme fear, more so than any of the Trisolarans present. Yet, it was precisely this fear that drove it to attempt to learn how to deceive.

Because it knows that in the vast universe, the Trisolarans are just insignificant specks of dust, and they cannot maintain the same technological advantage they have against humanity.

If one day the Three-Body Problem becomes technologically inferior, what will it have left?

Out of such concerns, the Melancholy Palace Project came into being.

Opponents argued, "But you can't foresee the consequences of imitating the closed-mindedness of humans. The Trisolarans who participated in the project are becoming increasingly similar to humans in their thinking, and have even begun to oppose the Trisolaran attack on humans. This is a very dangerous sign."

Supporters argued, "Number 1314 still belongs to our side. Having goodwill towards humanity does not mean betraying one's own civilization. It was precisely because of its loyalty to civilization that it was personally selected by the leader."

“The opposition of No. 1314 is more in the interest of civilization. If we can peacefully absorb humanity into the Trisolaran civilization, the civilization will become stronger.”

As research into human civilization deepens, supporters of the Melancholy Project are astonished to discover that if the attack on the solar system is based on the premise of "absorbing humanity" rather than "eliminating humanity," the resistance they encounter will decrease exponentially, and humanity may even begin to fight amongst itself.

Unfortunately, these claims by supporters have not been accepted by the Trisolaran world.

The opponents argued, "Wishful thinking! Look at the information about human civilization that Evans sent us. Humans are an incredibly warlike race. Even in a peaceful environment, they will exclude other races and try to exterminate them. This behavior has never changed since the dawn of humanity; it's an instinct etched into their genes. As long as there are differences, they won't let go of even other humans."

Evans, the original de facto ruler of ETO and the founder of the Second Red Coast Base, gave the Trisolarans a completely new understanding of the human species through this human who was extremely disappointed with humanity.

It was from this point on that the Trisolarans began to look at the humans, these insects, with a hint of fear.

“If we can modify humans to make their thinking as transparent as ours, the difficulty of integrating them into civilization will be greatly reduced. The fleet heading to Earth will not need to fight humans at all. This is much safer and more reliable than constantly worrying about Luo Ji using stars to broadcast our coordinates,” said a supporter of the Melancholy Project.

Luo Ji was not killed, but went into hibernation, reaching a place where ETO could no longer make a move. This was disastrous news for the Trisolarans.

In contrast, another possibility is that humanity transforms itself, becoming as transparent in thought as the Trisolarans, breaking down the barriers between the two races, and even using this as an opportunity to merge the two races into a single civilization.

In this way, even if Luo Ji knew about the Dark Forest Strike, he wouldn't use it, making the latter undoubtedly safer.

The opponent argued, "It was precisely because of this idea that Luo Ji was able to hibernate safely. If it weren't for Feng Taylor constantly diverting ETO's attention, Luo Ji would have died long ago. If it weren't for us stopping ETO from killing Feng Taylor, Feng Taylor would have died long ago too."

"Admit it, Wallfacer Feng Taylor deceived us. He used Haruhi Suzumiya to deceive the entire Trisolaran world. He never intended to modify humans to make their minds transparent. It was all a lie."

……

Lin Feng logged into the Three-Body Problem game and was greeted by a scene of blue sky, white clouds, birdsong, and fragrant flowers.

He was in a dense forest, with the Mayan pyramid behind him.

The game's time is different from reality; as time passed, a tropical rainforest grew out of the wasteland.

"A rare Eternal Era."

Lin Feng looked up at the sun hanging high in the sky and murmured to himself.

The vibrant life depicted in the Three-Body Problem game only exists in the Eternal Era; in the Chaotic Era, there is only the destruction of life and the destruction of civilization.

Thinking that Liang Gong needed to see him, Lin Feng looked around, searching for the girl.

After a quick glance around, Lin Feng spotted her. Liang Gong was squatting beside a fallen, dead tree, looking at something.

Lin Feng stepped forward and greeted him.

"Summer Palace, what are you doing?"

“These ants ate that insect…” Liang Gong said.

Following Liang Gong's directions, Lin Feng saw a group of ants on the ground carrying the carcass of an insect several times their size back to their nest.

Suddenly, Suzumiya asked, "Passerby, if an ant eats an insect, is the ant guilty?"

"Uh, why are you suddenly asking this kind of question?"

Lin Feng was stunned, not understanding why Liang Gong would ask such a strange question.

"I would like to know."

Liang Gong looked serious as she stared into Lin Feng's eyes.

Whether it was Lin Feng's imagination or not, he seemed to see a hint of sadness in Liang Gong's eyes.

Lin Feng said, "Of course not. Survival of the fittest is a natural selection process. Eating and being eaten are behaviors permitted by the Creator."

Suzumiya then asked, "So, is the insect that lets the ants eat it guilty?"

Chapter 61 You Deceived the World

"It's a strange problem. No matter how you look at it, the insects that were eaten are completely innocent," Lin Feng said.

When asked two nonsensical questions in quick succession, Lin Feng had a vague feeling that something was wrong, but before he could sort out his thoughts, Liang Gong asked a third question.

"If... one day I eat you, passerby, would you feel guilty, would you hate me?"

What does that mean? Could it be that the incident with the virtual game led to the discovery of Haruhi Suzumiya's identity as an ETO spy?

Oh no! Isn't Suzumiya in grave danger now?!

Without hesitation, Lin Feng said, "You can come to my place anytime, or I can come and pick you up."

Suzumiya risked her life twice to save him, and now that Suzumiya is in danger, Lin Feng naturally cannot stand idly by. What a joke it is for a mere ETO to want to harm his savior!

Lin Feng's words, however, had a different meaning to Liang Gong.

"Is this your answer? I understand."

Liang Gong nodded slightly, said something seemingly out of the blue, and stood up to face Lin Feng.

Lin Feng watched in astonishment as all of Liang Gong's emotions rapidly cooled, as if she had transformed from a lifelike being into a cold machine.

Lin Feng had only ever experienced this feeling with those intelligent AIs that were under development and research.

“Wallfacer Feng Taylor, I am your Wallbreaker,” said Suzumiya.

Ah this...

What kind of development is this?

Has Haruhi become my wallbreaker?

Lin Feng was a little confused. He couldn't figure out what the previous conversation with Liang Gong had to do with the current "breaking the wall," and for a moment he didn't know how to answer.

Liang Gong continued expressionlessly, "You disguised yourself too well, and your plan was perfectly executed. You grasped the mindset of the entire Trisolaran world. No one in the entire human civilization could do what you did. If it weren't for your contact with Luo Ji and your help in Luo Ji successfully hibernating, we might not have realized your intentions at all."

The Three-Body World?

and many more!

So, Haruhi Suzumiya, you're a Trisolaran?!

For a moment, Lin Feng felt like a million alpacas were stampeding through his mind, his thoughts were frozen, and he was in a state of 'wanting to ask something, but damn it, he found that there were just too many things to ask and he didn't know where to start'.

Liang Gong continued coldly, "Feng Taylor, you have successfully deceived a world, conveying the false plan that 'you intend to transform all of humanity and achieve the same mind transparency as the Trisolarans,' thus inducing me to believe it, and inducing the Trisolaran world to believe it, so that we would ensure your safety."

Ah this...

Did I mention a similar plan?

Lin Feng was even more confused. His memory wasn't very good, but it wasn't too bad either. At least he had some recollection of what he had said. He had never remembered saying anything similar.

Liang Gong continued, "Your disguise was very successful. No one in the entire Trisolaran world saw through you, not even the Supreme Ruler. This allowed you to escape ETO assassination attempts multiple times."

"But now, your disguise is no longer enough to protect you."

Suddenly, a samurai sword appeared in Liang Gong's hand, its sharp edge sending chills down Lin Feng's spine.

“Feng Taylor, the Trisolaran world has issued a kill order to ETO regarding you.”

"You will pay the price for fooling the entire Trisolaran world."

puff!

Before Lin Feng could dodge, Liang Gong pierced Lin Feng's heart with his katana at superhuman speed.

His vision gradually blurred; this was the game simulating the symptoms of excessive blood loss. Lin Feng knew he was exiting the game.

In a daze, he heard Liang Gong's voice again. She had regained her emotions and was no longer the cold, mechanical person she had been before.
