Kai Uesugi helped Hanabi Hanamaru lift her suitcase off the train and stand on the snow-covered platform.

It was so cold outside that it made you shiver. When the wind blew, it felt like a layer of frost would form on the tip of your nose.

Hana-Maru Hanabi, with her scarf wrapped around her nose, stepped off the train. As soon as she got off, a blast of cold air hit her. She squinted and instinctively looked to the right, in the direction from which the snowstorm was coming.

In the distance, there was a limited express train carriage covered in snow, with a white line drawn out from the snow. The windows were covered with ice and dotted with small white specks, and the tracks were completely covered by a thick layer of snow, making it impossible to see their original appearance.

"It's rare for snow to come so early."

Even the elderly woman who regularly cleans the platform couldn't help but look at the snow-covered train and say something. Her words were tinged with a Hokkaido accent, which was not easily understood by the passengers who had just disembarked.

Although the snow was heavy, the tourists who got off the train were there to see the snowy weather, and because of this, they seemed even happier. They raised their phones, breathing warm air on them, and with expressions of curiosity, they took pictures of the snowy scenes.

"Do you remember that movie we watched together before?" Uesugi Kai asked Hanabi Hanamaru, standing in the snow beside her. Many white snowflakes had already fallen onto her hair.

""love letter"?"

"Yes, it won't take long to get to Otaru from Hakodate."

"So this trip can be considered a pilgrimage to sacred sites?"

"Haha, not entirely, after all, I hadn't thought of that before we set off."

"In that case, would you like to go and get a small booklet? And get it stamped?"

Hanabi Hanamaru looked towards the station's work area, where many people were queuing.

"What kind of seal is that?" Uesugi Kai didn't quite understand these things, but he just looked over there.

"It's a station souvenir badge, Kai-kun, wait a minute, Hanabi, go line up and get one."

.....

"Okay! It's covered."

Hanabi Hanabi returned to Kai Uesugi, holding an open notebook and smiling happily at him.

Uesugi Kai looked closely and found that the small notebook had a green circular stamp with a picture of a castle and a train coming down from the mountain. Judging from the shape, it should be the Hokuto train that they had just ridden.

"This kind of thing is pretty useless, isn't it?"

“It’s a memento! It’s proof that we were here. Kai-kun, you have to understand that our past memories have always been preserved by Hanabi.” Hanabi closed the small notebook, went behind Uesugi, and put it into the backpack on his back.

She was right. She was the one who kept most of the memories between the two of them. Although Uesugi Kai didn't think it was a big deal not to record them, she couldn't help but reminisce when she occasionally came across photos from their past trips.

Therefore, occasionally recording a scene and adding a short description of your feelings at the time is indeed a good choice.

With that thought in mind, Uesugi Kai looked up at the sky filled with snowflakes.

Should we take a picture and share it on Twitter, where I've never posted a single update?

"Nini~" Xiao Aiyi ran over, tugged at his clothes, and looked at him, "Let's take a picture together?"

"Six people together?"

"Ah."

"Then we'll have to..."

Just as Uesugi Kai was about to say that they would need to find another passerby to help, he turned around and saw that Chii had already asked a young woman wearing a white scarf for help.

Kai Uesugi took a closer look at the other person's face; she was a beautiful woman with a remarkably serene and peaceful expression.

She wore a beret, had long hair down her back, and was tall and slender.

Her gait was so natural that it made one almost forget about any sense of distance.

The long-haired woman seemed to like Chiai a lot. At Chiai's request, she took Mrs. Hanamaru's phone and waited for them to stand in front of the tram before taking the first family photo of the six people standing together on this trip.

"All right."

"Thank you sister."

"It's nothing." The long-haired woman saw Qian Aiyi, squatted down, rubbed her little head, and gave her a smile as warm as melting snow.

Perhaps it was because of his unique aura that Uesugi Kai took a second look at him.

"Kai-kun~~"

Unfortunately, it was just those two glances that Hanamaru Hanabi saw.

Kai Uesugi turned around and looked at the girl's delicate face, which was just as beautiful as, and perhaps even more so than, that of the long-haired woman.

She was smiling very sweetly.

"I'm just observing a bit more."

“Observation won’t work either; men are the most forgetful creatures,” Hanabi Hanamaru said.

Uesugi Kai seemed to understand something. "Hanabi, you're not jealous because of this, are you?"

"I'm just jealous." Hanabi Hanamaru looked at him with her bright purple eyes sparkling. "Marriage is a happy time, but it can also be the most insecure time."

"Why do you think that?" Uesugi Kai asked.

"Because marriage means that a girl gives her all to that man; she's like an old toy picked up from a shop window. I believe no one would think a new toy is worse than an old one, right?"

This sentence reminded Uesugi Kai of Kurohanabi's dream.

The Uesugi in that dream is quite similar to the one Hanamaru Hanabi is describing now.

Because they got tired of it, they were decisively abandoned.

Although it was a dream, it was also the thing that Hanabi-chan was most worried about.

Uesugi Kai knew that Kurohanabi's assertiveness at times stemmed from her insecurity. Insecurity drove her to actively pursue what she wanted.

"Does Hanabi-chan need me to prove it?"

"need."

"Well."

Kai Uesugi took off his backpack, squatted down, put one arm around her upper body and the other on her leg, and lifted her up completely.

"Princess carry?"

"Yes."

Hanabi Hanabu lay in his arms, winking at him from above.

Mrs. Hanamaru and Mrs. Uesugi, who were checking the photos nearby, also noticed the two of them. They saw Uesugi Kai holding Hanamaru Hanabi in his arms.

"Where is the hotel we're staying at?" Uesugi Kai asked.

"Get out of the station first," Hanabi Hanabi said, staring intently into his eyes without moving.

"Do you want me to carry you and run, or carry you slowly and walk?"

Hanabi Hanabi's bright eyes reflected his face, and the girl stretched out her two small hands, which were covered by her coat, and wrapped them around his neck.

"Kai-kun...what do you think?"

Without needing many words, Uesugi Kai started running.

Holding her in his arms and supporting her delicate shoulders, he kept moving towards the exit of the station.

As the body gradually adapts, the speed slowly increases.

Step by step, with each run, the vibrations were transmitted from Uesugi Kai's legs to the two of them. At the mothers' calls, he ran into the corridor, down the steps, onto the street, and out of the station.

Snow was still falling from the sky, and a cold wind blew in their faces. Uesugi Kai smiled and exhaled large puffs of hot air. The weight of the two of them pressed down on the thick snow, making it crunch and creak.

The faster he ran, the tighter the girl on his chest hugged him.

Although it was somewhat strenuous, Uesugi Kai felt an intense heat in his heart. It was like running with a treasure in his arms, with a simple and determined goal, feeling the cold snowflakes melting on his face, and feeling the howling wind whistling past his ears.

Snowflakes drifted down from the sky, and the cold wind blew freely around me, yet I didn't feel a chill at all.

"Huff~ Huff~~"

"Kai-kun... put the fireworks down."

"What...what's wrong?" Uesugi Kai asked, panting heavily as she looked out over the snow-covered streets. The wide road stretched into the distance, and the pedestrians wrapped in trench coats were just faint shadows moving about.

"I'm afraid you'll fall." The girl's words were light, yet they seemed to contain a great deal of indescribable tenderness and concern.

"Are you...really going to stop...?"

"Stop," Hanabi Hanabi said to him in a melodious voice, but her arms tightened around his neck.

When Uesugi Kai put the girl down from his arms, he noticed that both of them were covered in large patches of white snowflakes.

Hanabi Hanamaru stood in the snow, wearing a blue scarf and a rather loose winter coat. Even though there were few streetlights nearby, her eyes still seemed to be reflecting the light.

"Isn't this a bit silly?" Uesugi Kai said with a smile to the cute girl in front of her, whose hair was quietly tinged with a few white snowflakes.

"It is a bit silly." The girl smiled.

"But you're in a surprisingly good mood, aren't you?" Uesugi Kai exhaled hot breath, puffs of white mist rising as he spoke.

"I feel much better. But Kai-kun, you have to promise Hanabi that you won't look at other women."

"Huh? Then why were Akae and the others fine before? Was it because that woman was pretty, and you felt threatened, Hanabi?"

Hanabi Hanabi pouted and stepped on his shoe.

"Hiss~" Uesugi Kai raised his chin, closed one eye, and showed an expression of pain.

"Kai-kun, say yes! You have to say yes!"

“I can agree…but…” Uesugi Kai glanced furtively at Hanamaru Hanabi, who seemed a little angry.

"But what? There are no buts!" Hanabi's black-stockinged legs exerted force again.

"Hiss~ I can agree, but... could you step on me a little longer?"

Hanabi Hanabi was clearly taken aback. Just when Uesugi Kai thought she was going to call him a pervert in a cute voice, she smiled at him playfully in an even cuter voice and said, "Okay."

Then, she naturally increased the force with which she stomped on his shoes.

Kai Uesugi gasped. Only then did he realize that the same tactics he used against Hanabi were useless against Kurohanabi.

"Kai-kun, do you want to hear more from Hanabi?"

No, that's all.

"Then agree quickly."
