Immediately afterwards, Hermione saw the unconscious Ivy being picked up by the Dementor, whose filthy lips under the hood were about to touch Ivy's body.
Suddenly, a flash of light appeared, and the Dementor was sent flying. The Ravenclaw Badge on Ivy's chest shone brightly. This was Hogwarts' last protection for all students. The badge was connected to Hogwarts' energy pool, and the protective shield it generated was enough for teachers like Gawain to arrive in time.
However, the world Ivy is in now is not the same world where Gawain and the others are. The protective shield flickered a few times and then seemed about to go out.
Just as the Dementors were preparing to attack again, the professors of this world finally arrived.
You can't use Apparition here at Hogwarts, so all the professors have to run. It's quite impressive that they can run so fast at their age.
"Take the God's Protection!"
Snape drew his wand and shouted, and a silver doe flew out of his body, instantly appearing in front of Hermione and Ivy. Its sharp antlers were pointed at the Dementor in front of them and the other Dementors that were approaching from the sky. Hermione breathed a sigh of relief when she saw the professor arrive, and then fainted.
Under the protection of the Patronus, the Dementors began to retreat. Snape kept a close eye on these filthy creatures the whole time, but there was nothing he could do. None of the spells could kill the Dementors, not even the Killing Curse.
A tabby cat landed next to Ivy and Hermione and instantly transformed into Minerva McGonagall; the tabby cat was her Animagus form.
With two quick swings of the wand, the Levitation Charm lifted Ivy and Hermione into the air.
"Snape! Get those filthy things out of the school!" McGonagall shouted, then quickly led the two unconscious men to the infirmary.
Chapter 322 Freddy: What Kind of Trash Are Dementors?
"Mrs. Pomfrey, how are they?" Professor McGonagall asked from the medical room.
"Terrible!" Madam Pomfrey exclaimed angrily. "How could things be good for children this age who have been exposed to Dementors for so long! And Dumbledore?! I told you I absolutely wouldn't allow Dementors to roam around the school!"
“Mrs. Pomfrey, don’t be angry. Dumbledore didn’t mean it either…” Professor McGonagall looked a little embarrassed, and her expression seemed a bit off.
“Dumbledore has been missing for a long time,” Snape suddenly said. McGonagall turned to stare at Snape, a hint of anger in her eyes.
"It's no use trying to hide it any longer. The Dementors are attacking the students, and the headmaster can't come out to deal with it. How can we hide this?" Snape was extremely troubled, and his already gloomy face became even more so.
"...Are you serious?" Professor Lupin, the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, looked left and right and realized that Snape and McGonagall didn't seem to be joking.
“Dumbledore has indeed disappeared. Not long after you came to the school, he used to just slack off for a month at a time, but suddenly he disappeared completely a while ago.” McGonagall sighed. These are troubled times, truly troubled times.
Sirius Black escapes from prison, Dumbledore goes missing, an intruder named Ivy appears, Dementors attack students—all these things happen at once, who can handle it all?
Madam Pomfrey was speechless. She could feel the pressure on McGonagall and Snape. No wonder Malfoy's mention of Ivy's affair caused such a stir. It seemed that Snape's nerves were indeed on the verge of snapping.
Hogwarts' defenses are at their lowest point in history, and if the Ministry of Magic discovers that Dumbledore is missing, Hogwarts, which so many teachers have worked so hard to build, could be in serious trouble. The Ministry of Magic might even send a good-for-nothing who doesn't know any magic and only knows how to study politics to become the headmaster.
With a sigh, Madam Pomfrey continued to treat Ivy and Hermione. The psychological damage caused by the Dementors would take time to heal, but Madam Pomfrey could still help with the physical injuries.
When several professors at Hogwarts were at a loss, Ivy found herself in what seemed to be a strange place.
"One, two, Freddy will come looking for you..."
In the dimly lit room, a strange nursery rhyme began to play. Ivy frowned and looked in the direction from which the sound came.
The sound of dripping water was so clear in the silent environment, as if it were hitting one's heart directly, and fear spread continuously.
"Three, four..."
"Freddy, an Ouroboros containment object, feeds on the fear in people's hearts and uses the power of fear to move and exert his abilities." Ivy recited a part of the description of Freddy from the [General Containment Object Introduction].
"Ha, how boring, little girl." Freddy popped out from behind Ivy, his sharp, knife-like fingers twitching as he approached her with unsteady steps.
The saying "a leopard can't change its spots" perfectly describes Freddy Krueger. This guy is always subconsciously scary, stirring up fear in people's hearts.
Ivy was indeed frightened and took a few steps back. Knowing what was going on, it was normal for her to be afraid in this situation.
The moment the power of fear transferred from Ivy to Freddy, Freddy trembled as if electrocuted, and his appearance in the dream was forcibly changed into that of the Joker. His red nose popped out, and five sausages were stuck into the fingers of his right hand, which looked like a modified object.
"I was wrong! I was wrong! I won't cause trouble anymore!" Freddy shouted loudly to those around him.
Seeing Freddy's flustered and comical state, Ivy almost burst out laughing, and her emotions, which had been affected by the Dementors, recovered considerably.
"Did Professor Gao Wen send you to find me? Can you take me back?" Ivy asked after coughing twice.
Freddy looked annoyed. How could he be scary looking like this? Would anyone be scared by a nightmare with five sausages stuck in it?
"I don't know. I'm only responsible for getting in touch with you. As for the rest, that's not my concern," Freddy explained helplessly.
After being trained by Merlin for so long, Freddy had basically resigned himself to his fate. What could he do? He couldn't beat them in a fight, and he couldn't run away.
When Artoria contacted Merlin to ask Freddy for help, Freddy was quite excited, as it felt like he was about to escape his cage. Unfortunately, even when he arrived here through Ivy's dream, Merlin's magic was still in effect.
Once Freddy instills fear and absorbs the power of fear from his victims, that power of fear is immediately twisted by magic, turning Freddy into something comical.
“Um, Mr. Freddy,” Ivy turned her head slightly to the side, trying hard not to look at Freddy, she was barely holding back her laughter, “Could you do me a favor? My friend Hermione was also affected by the Dementors, and I’ve felt much better since I came here. Could you bring her in?”
“Hermione?” Freddy paused. “You mean the girl lying in the hospital bed next to you? Okay, but you have to give me a good review after this is all over.”
"Good reviews?" Ivy was puzzled. Why did it feel like she was delivering takeout?
“Yes.” Freddy pulled out a list in a flash. “Merlin said that as long as I collect positive reviews from a hundred people, he will loosen some of the restrictions on me.”
Ivy glanced at the list, which only had a few names, but some of them were familiar to her, such as Gawain, Artoria, and Leona.
“Okay, I’ll give it to you, thank you,” Ivy replied.
Upon hearing this, Freddy snapped his fingers, and the dream began to extend. "Honestly, it's really not right to be scared by that kind of garbage. Forcibly inducing fear and draining souls, there's no skill involved at all. I despise them."
As Freddy spoke, he conjured up a fake Dementor in front of him and dismantled it into pieces, which Ivy found strangely satisfying.
However, Freddy was right. Compared to his nightmare, the Dementors were indeed quite weak, and their efficiency in extracting fear was extremely poor, resulting in very low utilization.
If Freddy hadn't been restricted, he would have gone out and killed all those Dementors right now. What a bunch of bastards, living in this world is a complete waste of energy.
"Where am I?" Hermione was a little scared when she suddenly appeared in the darkness.
Upon hearing the sound, Freddy instinctively prepared to intimidate her, but before he could act, Ivy ran past him and hugged Hermione tightly.
“Hermione, it’s me. My teacher is here to see me. Don’t be afraid.” Ivy looked up slightly and said to Hermione.
"Is this gentleman your teacher?" Hermione swallowed hard as she looked at Freddy; the scene was too bizarre.
Freddy waved to Hermione, and the sausage swayed a few times. In Freddy's eyes, this was another excellent candidate deserving high praise.
“No, this is Mr. Freddy, a helper the teacher found,” Ivy whispered, hugging Hermione and feeling an inexplicable sense of security.
Inside the medical room, Madam Pomfrey looked at Hermione, who had calmed down and no longer showed any fear, and felt a little strange, but also a little surprised that she had gotten rid of the lingering effects of the Dementors so quickly.
Chapter 223 The First Meeting of Two Hogwarts
As Hermione hugged Ivy tightly, glancing nervously at Freddy Krueger, the dream world suddenly trembled, causing both Ivy and Hermione to panic.
"Don't be nervous, it's just that someone's trying to squeeze in. To be honest, I hate this feeling. It reminds me of that guy who's obsessed with explosions," Freddy said with great dissatisfaction. The person he was referring to was naturally the mage Blaze, who invented the Eternal Blaze and has now become a legend.
"Hmm, this place is really small." Leona slowly squeezed her body out of the gap between the dream and the world. The passage between the two worlds was still a bit too narrow for her.
Artoria chose Leona as her supporter because she considered that Leona could unleash legendary power in times of crisis, enough to protect her students. Moreover, in terms of defense, Leona, with her Golden Aegis, was clearly stronger than Gawain and the others.
If Leona hadn't come to Hogwarts as a resident teacher, Artoria might have sent someone with a sword sheath.
“Teacher Leona!” Ivy’s voice was filled with surprise and hope.
Leona forcefully pulled her hand away. "Don't rush, let me come out first. Freddy, seriously, you need to expand your dream world."
Freddy gave an awkward laugh. He did want to, but Merlin's magic had him completely under control, and it was a miracle he wasn't starving to death.
After Leona fully appeared, warm sunlight streamed into the entire dream, and this dark world suddenly became filled with birdsong and fragrant flowers, though it was a little hot. Freddy stood aside, obediently giving up his control over the dream.
Under the sunlight, the last traces of Dementor power remaining in Ivy and Hermione vanished.
"Teacher, can I go home now?" Ivy asked, but at the same time she held onto Hermione tightly, as if she wanted to carry Hermione home.
“Since you’re alright, let’s wait a little longer. We still have one more thing to take care of, which is to bring your principal back.” Leona said, beckoning to Freddy. “Let’s map the dream into reality.”
“This requires the cooperation of those people outside, otherwise I’m afraid something unexpected might happen,” Freddy said.
Leona looked at Hermione upon hearing this, "Young lady, could you please ask the people outside to move aside a bit?"
"I... I can try." Hermione lowered her head shyly. Leona gave her the feeling of a warm, approachable older sister, and this older sister's appearance and personality were exactly what she liked.
Inside the medical room, Hermione suddenly jumped up in front of everyone, then looked around in a bit of confusion.
"Hermione! You're awake! Lie down quickly, let me check you out," Madam Pomfrey said with delight.
"Excuse me, professors, could you please step aside for a moment? Someone is trying to leave the dream," Hermione said, recalling what happened in the dream.
"Out of the dream?" Professor McGonagall was a little puzzled, and she even thought that Hermione's mind might have been damaged by the Dementors.
“Yes.” Hermione jumped off the bed, her socks hitting the floor, and pulled all the professors out.
Snape sighed. Under these circumstances, he no longer had any intention of targeting Hermione. If standing further away would make his student more comfortable, it wouldn't be a bad thing.
After everyone except Ivy had moved to the other half of the medical room, there was finally enough space. Then, all the professors seemed to see the space in front of them distort as if heated air. The next second, Leona and Freddy appeared in the real world.
"Ugh, what a terrible feeling." Freddy left those words and immediately vanished into the dream. He hated being in reality; it made him feel completely insecure.
"Ivy, you're awake." Hermione said happily as she looked at Ivy, who had gotten up from the bed.
Snape and the others nearby tensed up. The book in Ivy's arms was related to dark magic and needed to be kept under surveillance. If Ivy hadn't stood in front of the Dementors and protected Hermione, they wouldn't have been so friendly to her.
"Excuse me, please wait a moment," Leona said before walking to the window.
Outside Hogwarts, Dementors were still flying around, ready to take advantage of any opportunity to descend and hunt for food.
"Disgusting thing." Leona clenched her right hand, and the Zenith Blade appeared in her palm.
"In the sunlight, the world becomes visible to people!"
The goddess of dawn unleashed her divine power, and a dazzling sun, radiating flames, appeared in the sky above Hogwarts, its rays illuminating the entire Kingdom of John and causing a sensation throughout the Muggle world.
Under the bright sunlight, the Dementors began to dissolve like bubbles. After the sunlight faded, all the Dementors in the sky above Hogwarts disappeared without a trace.
"It's all done now." Leona clapped her hands and turned around. Ivy came to this world because of her and almost died at the hands of those Dementors. If she didn't get revenge, she could lose her title as the Goddess of Dawn.
"Let me introduce you, Leona, a Hogwarts headmistress." Leona extended her hand to the stunned professors.
Are the Dementors dead? Or are they all dead?!
What is that spell that illuminates the world?! Is this person the reincarnation of the sun goddess?!
Compared to this man, Voldemort is nothing more than a tiny, insignificant insect!
Several thoughts swirled in the professor's mind, but Professor McGonagall was the first to come to her senses. She extended her hand and shook it very kindly. "Minerva McGonagall, the interim headmistress of Hogwarts, and the Transfiguration teacher."
"Hello, it's like this, because Headmaster Dumbledore is temporarily missing and Lady Arthur is unable to arrive for the time being, I'm temporarily representing our world's Hogwarts to negotiate with you." Leona cleared her throat and then took the manuscript out of her pocket.
"First, let me introduce ourselves. We are Hogwarts, a mystical school located on the planet Earth, in the Kingdom of John, under the jurisdiction of the Multiverse Civilization. We apologize for Ivy's unexpected entry..."
