Hattori Heiji was very confused. If the shop wasn't safe, was the yard safe?
Just as Hattori Heiji was confused, Conan very obediently snuggled into his arms, and then, a shining teleportation circle lit up around them.
The next instant, Hattori Heiji found himself floating in the air, surrounded by all sorts of incomprehensible equipment, and at the same time, he felt the weightlessness of falling.
Before he could even adjust to the discomfort in his body, the gravity system in the shuttle pod activated, and Hattori Heiji landed on the ground. However, he didn't fall, because there were quite a few people around, so he couldn't fall.
"Frank, check the information records for any unusual indicators. Fina, check the magic records for any problems."
As he spoke, Vernon pulled up all the recent observational data.
Before getting busy, Fina glanced at Ai Haibara, who was hugging her waist, and mouthed, "Done~"
Ai Haibara was so happy she wanted to jump up, but she tried her best to suppress her emotions so as not to disturb others.
While everyone else was busy, Conan and Heiji Hattori were also busy. Just looking at the mysterious and technologically advanced surroundings, they felt that their two eyes were not enough.
"That can't be..." Hattori Heiji looked out through the observation window, and the first thing that caught his eye was a beautiful, magnificent, and captivating planet.
"So we're in space." Conan's face was pressed against the observation window.
He had seen photos and videos of Earth, but this was the first time he had ever observed Earth directly with the naked eye from space. The experience was truly amazing.
Meanwhile, Heiji Hattori and Conan also realized something.
The two tentatively jumped lightly.
They did indeed land back on the ground; gravity was real and not their illusion.
Although he doesn't know the cause of gravity, Conan is able to grasp the technological level involved. It's no exaggeration to say that the technology of gravity simulation alone is enough to crush the entire Earth.
Before he could finish his thought, Conan suddenly remembered something. If this organization called Ouroboros was so powerful, then the Hydra, which they took so seriously, must be incredibly strong as well.
This alien force has been lurking on Earth for so long without showing itself...
The more Conan thought about it, the more terrified he felt, as if there was a huge conspiracy behind it all, and a layer of mystery seemed to have appeared over the entire Earth.
Heiji Hattori, who had the same thought, focused his attention on Vernon and his group. Although he was reluctant to admit it, it seemed that only they could help him and his group now.
Although the fact that Hydra hasn't come out into the open for so long means that they must have something they're wary of, Conan and his friends think that what they're wary of is Ouroboros, which is also an alien organization.
"Things have been sorted out. It seems the worst didn't happen." Vernon breathed a sigh of relief as he looked at the system's conclusion.
"How so?" Frank continued comparing the various data.
"Indeed, some data exceeded the standard, and there were also unusual fluctuations in Ai Haibara and Shinichi Kudo, but these fluctuations actually came from the world consciousness."
"It spontaneously resists the behavior of drawing energy from the planet's interior, so Ai Haibara and the others are actually a stabilizer."
"As for the method of extracting energy, it is more rudimentary than imagined, similar to the technology Hydra used when it was defeated decades ago, and it has not found any spacecraft in orbit outside the planet."
"After summarizing other information, the system and I both concluded that this black-clad organization obtained some of Hydra's technology for some unknown reason, and this technology may not have arrived here in physical form."
"This technology then aroused the ambitions of some people, who took advantage of it. However, the technological gap does exist, and there is a significant lack of technical and basic data, so there has been no substantial progress for so long."
Vernon gave a brief explanation.
Conan glanced at Ai Haibara, never expecting that ordinary people like himself could be of such great use.
"We can't just jump to conclusions like that. Even if the odds are one in ten thousand, we absolutely cannot let go of that possibility."
Frank looked up at them very seriously and said, "Captain, I request permission to launch a preemptive attack on this clandestine organization! Remove all restrictions on our methods."
“I agree,” Vernon nodded.
Teacher, these people seem much tougher than me. We're still too conservative.
Fina thought to herself as she stroked Ai Haibara's hair.
"Fina, what's your opinion?"
"Huh? I agree."
After the three reached a consensus, Vernon began to revise the policy, and then slapped the monitor.
"What idiot set up these restrictions! Foreign policy can only be changed one level at a time, and each level of modification has a several-day cooling-off period! What the hell?!"
Vernon was furious. No one had told him about this beforehand, which made things quite awkward.
On the planet Hextech, the Clock Tower, Heimerdinger sneezed several times, scratched his head, and looked a little confused.
That's right, he set this restriction to prevent someone from being secretly influenced or manipulated, thus turning the shuttle into a weapon in someone else's hands.
With this limitation in place, as long as not everyone is infected, there is still time to make amends.
"Captain, how many levels are there between changing the current policy to a proactive offensive?" Frank asked.
“A dozen or so, it’ll take at least several months.” Vernon’s emotions calmed down a bit, and he began to think of a quicker solution.
"Actually, we can help too. If it's about finding people, they've been active in this world for so long, they must have left traces. Our specialty is trace tracking."
Conan suggested it.
"And I can also ask my father for help. He has so many police officers under his command, so the search won't be slow," Hattori Heiji continued, picking up where Conan left off.
Vernon rubbed his temples. "You two can help out for now, but our information needs to be kept confidential. Otherwise, the shuttle will detect the violation and lock up the alarm."
"We'll talk to your country once the secrecy policy is relaxed. Also, you and Ai Haibara will have full-body scans later. I need to make sure you haven't been brainwashed!"
Chapter 140 Cooperation Across the World
Soon, Hattori Heiji and the other two finished their examinations one by one. Vernon held the report and whispered something to Fina.
"Heiji Hattori, are you alright? Please wait over there for a moment."
Heiji Hattori was filled with worry as he walked away. If he was alright, it meant that Conan was in trouble; otherwise, there would have been no need to separate and talk.
"Shinichi Kudo, we detected residual magical energy on you. Do you know where it came from?"
Fina sized up Conan; this child's body was perfect for being a knight, his magic resistance was maxed out.
"Huh?" Conan was puzzled. To be honest, if someone had told him about magic before today, he would have thought that person was a fraud. But now, the person's technology was right in front of him.
"I..." Conan thought for a long time and shook his head, "I don't know."
“You just need to think back to anything that seems very magical in the last month. It doesn’t matter if it’s right or wrong, we’ll check it out,” Fina continued.
Magic? Magic...or sorcery?
Conan suddenly realized something. "Kaito Kid! I clashed with him a while ago. Many of his magic tricks are unbelievable. Maybe he's just using magic tricks to cover up his magic!"
The more Conan thought about it, the more he felt he had grasped the key to the problem. No wonder he hadn't been able to catch the other party. It wasn't a matter of intelligence; it was because the other party had secretly violated the rules by using magic!
"Thinking about it carefully, many of his props are not quite normal, completely abnormal."
Hattori Heiji silently pulled his hat down to cover his face. He couldn't understand why someone would return another person's prop, yet they had the nerve to criticize others!
I still don't understand how your skateboard can instantly reach full battery whenever there's sunshine.
Fina wrote down "Phantom Thief Kid" in her notebook. If the other party really is a magician, then she has to consider one thing: is he native or foreign? If he is foreign, this planet is a bit too lively.
"Ai, your problem is a bit serious," Fina said, looking at Ai Haibara.
Ai Haibara clenched her clothes tightly. She was terrified that things might turn around for her sister, but she would be in trouble.
“We detected brainwashing-like fluctuations in you,” Fina continued.
"Brainwashing!" Conan exclaimed in surprise. If such technology existed, the Black Organization's level of danger would increase by more than one level.
It's possible that high-ranking officials in many parts of the world have been infected.
“That’s right.” Fina nodded. “But don’t be too nervous. After examination, their technology had major problems. The brainwashing not only failed, but it also caused Ai to develop a specific sensory ability.”
"This ability will automatically activate when members of the Black Organization or people with extremely strong murderous aura appear nearby, giving Ai a warning. However, it will also put a great burden on your mind, making you prone to negative states such as excessive fear and coma."
"Simply put, this is a detection radar with relatively obvious side effects."
Ai Haibara's heart, which had been pounding, immediately calmed down. If that was the case, there wasn't much of a problem.
She's gotten used to this situation over the years.
Seeing that Ai Haibara didn't seem to care much about the situation, Fina continued to remind her, "Don't be too nervous, but don't ignore it either."
"If this situation continues, it could easily achieve a brainwashing effect through another route, so you can't stray too far from us in the coming period."
Ai Haibara nodded vigorously to show that she understood. She couldn't imagine what she would become if she were successfully brainwashed.
"Alright, everyone, take a box, I'm going to take you back."
As he spoke, Vernon took out three small boxes from a hidden storage compartment next to him. Inside were portable communication devices and a self-reactive field shield.
A few minutes later, after learning how to use the contents of the box, Heiji Hattori and Conan were teleported back to Osaka.
The two people standing on the ground were still a little dazed. The experience just now felt like a dream, except that the small box they were carrying indicated that it wasn't a dream.
"Kudo..." Hattori Heiji was momentarily speechless.
“Let’s go back. Remember to find the unsolved cases tomorrow. We can’t put all our hopes on others.” Conan pushed up his glasses, and moonlight reflected off the lenses onto the ground. “Our world is meant to be protected by us.”
Ran Mouri was leaning against the wall in front of Heiji Hattori's house; she had been standing there for some time.
As Heiji Hattori and Conan walked back side by side, they saw Ran Mouri standing under a streetlamp.
Heiji Hattori, whose emotional intelligence has never been online before, seemed to have suddenly become perceptive this time. In addition, his sixth sense was also frantically warning him not to stay there.
"Oh dear, Conan, I suddenly remembered something, I need to take care of it first."
Hattori Heiji left behind a single sentence and then took off running.
Conan's hand reached out and grabbed at the air, but missed. He then gave Ran an awkward smile and said, "Ran-neechan, it's so late, aren't you going to sleep?"
Ran Mouri walked up to Conan, squatted down, took off her glasses, and looked Conan in the eye.
Conan wanted to continue making excuses, but looking at Ran Mouri's expression, he was speechless for a moment.
"Conan, Shinichi will be back soon, right?" Ran Mouri said to Conan, enunciating each word clearly.
Conan opened his mouth, but didn't say a word.
Ran Mouri put the glasses back on him, stood up, and turned her back to Conan. "I'm going back to rest now."
As Ran Mouri walked step by step to the door, Conan felt a surge of emotions.
"orchid."
Conan slowly took off his glasses, and his voice no longer sounded as childish as before.
