Wentworth stared at Kirk in shock, once again certain that unless this young man died prematurely, he was destined for greatness! This was a ruthless guy who was willing to risk even himself!

What if I have athlete's foot?

Wentworth asked quietly.

"Then I can lick it for you too!"

Kirk said without hesitation.

After a moment of silence, Wentworth uttered two words: "Awesome!"

“Listen to me, if you say this, firstly…”

Wentworth leaned close to Cork's ear and whispered the instructions.

Chapter Thirty-Eight Hufflepuff's Conditions

Just as Wentworth was whispering to Kirk, Dumbledore, McGonagall, and the others were carefully examining the parchment that Professor Sprout had handed them.

After reading the contents of the parchment, Professor McGonagall spoke first, her voice filled with anger:

"This is outrageous! Who gave them permission to do this! I'll send them back right now!"

But Dumbledore called out to Professor McGonagall, who was about to turn around, and after a moment of silence, asked:

"Where is Professor Snape?"

"I'm here!"

At this moment, Snape slowly walked out from behind the group.

"Professor Snape, did you instruct the Slytherin students to do this?"

Professor McGonagall, seeing Snape's expression, said with some anger.

Snape, however, stared intently into Dumbledore's eyes and said meaningfully:

"Dumbledore, this is a good opportunity, isn't it?"

Dumbledore listened to Snape's words but did not object. Instead, he fell into deep thought again.

What a great opportunity! Only Dumbledore and Snape understood that this was a great opportunity to figure out the level of the Wentworth Curse!

As early as yesterday, when Wentworth displayed potion-making skills that Snape mistakenly thought were unique to Wentworth, Snape reminded Dumbledore that it was clear the Sorcerers had already begun training Wentworth before he entered Hogwarts!

Since the Sorcerers trained Wentworth on even potion-making techniques, there's no reason they wouldn't train him on spells! After all, Wentworth was right under Dumbledore's nose; how could he not have some ability to protect himself?

And this opportunity is undoubtedly a good chance to figure out the level of the Wentworth Curse!

Dumbledore understood Snape's meaning, Professor McGonagall seemed to understand but not quite, and Professor Sprout, though not understanding, wisely refrained from asking, though his eyes were filled with worry.

Finally, Dumbledore spoke:

"Let's ask the students for their opinions first!"

Then, Dumbledore, holding the parchment, slowly walked between Slytherin and Hufflepuff and asked:

"What do the Hufflepuffs think of this parchment sent by Slytherin?"

Green glanced at Wentworth one last time, and Wentworth nodded back. This scene was also witnessed by Dumbledore, Snape, and the others. Everyone understood that what Green said next was very likely at Wentworth's behest.

“Headmaster Dumbledore, we Hufflepuffs are willing to accept your offer. Although we are the friendliest house, since the Slytherin students have asked us for guidance, we will not hesitate to teach them what magic is!”

Green spoke with complete confidence.

But when Welling heard Green say that, he objected and immediately said with disdain:

"Teach us? What useless things can you teach us!"

"I won't allow you to talk about yourself like that!"

Green responded with a stern face.

Welling: ? ? ?

After hearing this, Dumbledore laughed heartily, as if lost in some memory, and then spoke to Professor Flitwick, the head of Ravenclaw, who was standing not far away:

“Felius, guess what this parchment reminds me of?”

Professor Fliggy, who was not far away, said with a smile:

"Headmaster Dumbledore, if I'm not mistaken, it's the Dueling Club!"

Dumbledore nodded and continued:

"That's right, the Duel Club! Hogwarts' Duel Club has been suspended for quite some time now, so opening it once in a while might be a good idea! But, it must be done under the supervision of a teacher, my lads."

"Now that Slytherin has made the duel request and Hufflepuff has accepted, I hereby declare the duel invitation officially established! Tonight, Hogwarts will reopen the Dueling Club!"

As Dumbledore spoke, a cheer erupted from the young wizards in the room. It wasn't just the Slytherins and Hufflepuffs cheering; even the Gryffindors and Ravenclaws nearby joined in!

The Duel Club—just the name tells you it's an activity that Gryffindor students absolutely love. And Ravenclaw? Don't you know that our Ravenclaw Headmaster was a dueling tournament champion in his youth?

Dumbledore, looking at the cheering students before him, said with a kind expression:

“Youth is wonderful! But we also need to set some rules. As for the referees, to ensure fairness, I propose that they be the Head of Gryffindor, Professor McGonagall, the Head of Ravenclaw, Professor Flitwick, and our Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, Professor Ilona!”

The three professors readily agreed to Dumbledore's request.

"Alright, is there anything else you want to say?"

Originally, this was just a token question from Dumbledore, but Green stepped forward and said:

"Of course, since it was Slytherin who requested the duel, we Hufflepuffs also have a few suggestions!"

Dumbledore glanced at Wentworth behind Green and said:

"Of course, that's your right!"

So, Green spoke up without hesitation:

"First, we Hufflepuffs hope that the professors will check both duelists before the duel begins to see if either of them has taken Felix Felicis or Polyjuice Potion!"

Upon hearing Green's words, Snape's face instantly darkened, while Welling blushed and said:

"Green! Are you questioning the fairness of Slytherin?"

But Green said, neither humble nor arrogant:

"I'm just upholding fairness!"

Dumbledore nodded and said:

"I think Mr. Green's proposal is acceptable!"

Then Dumbledore looked at Waring, who said angrily:

"No problem, we Slytherins agree!"

Green then continued:

"Secondly, we Hufflepuffs hope that both sides in a duel will finalize their duel list in advance and submit it to Professor Ilona before the duel begins. The list must not be changed!"

This time, before Dumbledore could speak, Waring interjected:

"No problem, we agree! We'll start from fifth grade!"

Seeing this, Green seemed relieved and continued:

"Third, Wellin, as the fifth-year prefects of Slytherin and Hufflepuff, it is both an honor and a responsibility for us. Shouldn't we shoulder this responsibility? I propose that whichever house loses this duel should resign from their prefectural position. Do you dare?"

Upon hearing Green's suggestion, Welling was taken aback at first. After careful consideration, he realized he couldn't find any reason why Slytherin would lose, so he coldly laughed:

"Green, it seems you're not planning to be a prefect anymore. Since you're so determined to resign, I'll give you a hand! I agree!"

Chapter Thirty-Nine: Preparations Before the Duel

Seeing that Welling had agreed, Green breathed a sigh of relief, then smiled slightly and said:

"In that case, see you tonight!"

As Green turned to leave, Welling said with equal confidence:

"Green, I'll be waiting for you in the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom tonight. Don't be too scared to come!"

Seeing that the two sides had reached an agreement, Dumbledore waved his hand and said:

"Alright, everyone, you can all go now. I'll be there tonight. Also, there's something I need to mention beforehand: the winning college tonight will get an extra 100 points!"

Upon hearing Dumbledore's words, Slytherin erupted in cheers once more, while Hufflepuff was also in high spirits. Even Gryffindor and Ravenclaw in the distance seemed to be looking at each other with a hint of provocation in their eyes. Fortunately, Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick stopped them, otherwise, the two houses might have ended up fighting on the spot.

When Wentworth, Cedric, and the others returned to Hufflepuff's common room, Green immediately followed and confirmed again:

"Wentworth, is your method really going to work?"

Wentworth, however, confidently patted Green on the shoulder and said:

"Don't worry, Prefect! You'll represent the fifth year, Cedric will represent the second year, and I'll take the first year without hesitation, since I came up with this idea. Once you've chosen your third and fourth year representatives, we can start preparing!"

Seeing Wentworth's confident demeanor, Green seemed to be infected by Wentworth's enthusiasm and nodded heavily.

Meanwhile, when Wellin returned to the Slytherin common room, Snape followed him in. Snape then bluntly called out the names of four people, including Wellin, who were the four Slytherins from the second to the fifth year who had the most solid grasp of spells.

But when it came to the first year, Snape hesitated. After all, the first-year students had just enrolled, and although Snape was the head of Slytherin, he didn't know much about these first-year Slytherins.

Just then, Cassandra, who had already noticed Snape's hesitation, stepped forward and said:

"Professor Snape, I am willing to represent the first year of Slytherin in the battle!"

Snape looked at Cassandra in front of him and, unusually, spoke in a relatively normal tone:

“Cassandra, a first-year student at Hufflepuff, will almost certainly be Wentworth. That guy isn’t so easy to deal with! I don’t want you to get hurt!”

Snape was sincere, because in their eyes, Wentworth, who had already undergone special training by the Vigilantes, was certainly not someone that these first-year students of Hogwarts could handle. In fact, among the older students, there were probably very few who could rival Wentworth.

The reason Snape devised this plan, and with Dumbledore's tacit approval, was that they wanted to see just how powerful Wentworth really was.

Snape didn't expect the new Slytherin students to defeat Wentworth, but as long as he could force Wentworth to make a few more moves, he was confident that with his and Dumbledore's abilities, they would be able to see some clues.

However, the only noteworthy point in this plan is that the Slytherin freshmen who will fight Wentworth are very likely to get injured. After all, the most powerful spells used by the Slytherins are Dark Magic! This is why Snape hesitated.
