Chapter Twenty-Eight: What if I had ten kidneys...
The chain spear in Sakura Kyoko's hand suddenly softened, transforming into a multi-sectioned whip. While entangled with the spearhead of Izayoi Mirai, the remaining section lashed out at his face.
Izayoi Mirai blocked the gun barrel with her hand and kicked Sakura Kyoko in the abdomen with her left foot.
Sakura Kyoko dodged.
She released the gun from the future and took a few steps back, then lashed out with her multi-sectioned whip, which moved like a dragon or snake, whistling as it came.
The air exploded.
Yuuyo Mirai used her spear to deflect the whip, the heavy force relentlessly striking as she sought an opportunity to close the distance.
But Sakura Kyoko's agility exceeded his expectations. As a magical girl's weapon, this chain gun was really strange, sometimes transforming into a straight and hard spear, with an exaggerated red blade the size of half a human head that gleamed with a cold light.
In her battle with Izayoi Mirai, her chain gun switched between two modes at will, allowing her to contend with Izayoi Mirai through its unpredictable and unpredictable nature.
She clasped her hands together, and the multi-sectioned whip taut again. The slender spear shaft spun, and the bright red blade traced arc after arc.
Realizing she was at a disadvantage, Sakura Kyoko no longer held back as she had at the beginning, unleashing her full martial arts skills, while the flames in her heart burned even brighter.
Last year, this girl was nowhere to be found. How come she's so much stronger than her? Whether it's becoming a magical girl or meeting Mami Tomoe, she was the one who came first!
Sakura Kyoko stepped sideways onto the surrounding wall, her toes barely touching the ground as she leaped into the air like a light swallow. The sharp blade of her spear gleamed coldly in the moonlight. She swung her spear, bringing with it the momentum of a dive, and smashed it towards Yushou Mirai.
She wielded the chain gun with great force, its vibrant colors resembling twin wheels, cutting through the air and creating a continuous, sharp whistling sound.
But every attack was blocked by that long spear.
Even though her offensive was like a storm, Yoyo Mirai remained impenetrable and as steady as a rock. Her simple spearhead swiftly and accurately struck the path of her attack, preventing her from advancing any further.
The continuous and surging offensive was interrupted multiple times, becoming fragmented, and the previously smooth feel became increasingly sluggish.
Izayoi Mirai gradually got used to Sakura Kyoko's rhythm. In the end, the skills honed in fighting witches didn't offer much advantage in battles against humans. The few battles she fought against her own kind were nothing more than a contest of resources.
The more seeds of sorrow one has, the more unrestrained one can use magic, and the closer one is to victory.
Is that all you've got?
Yushou Mirai scoffed, feeling somewhat disappointed. She had thought she would finally meet a worthy opponent to spar with, but it turned out that he only relied on switching between two attack methods to catch her off guard. In reality, his martial arts skills were not that great; it was just that his overall qualities were enhanced by the magic.
After figuring out the routine, he lost interest and enthusiasm for sparring. With a quick step, Yosuke Sakura closed in on Sakura Kyoko, closing the distance to within a meter. A surge of magical energy emanated from her skin, giving her a faint golden glow that resembled the gilded Arhats in temples.
He swung his left arm across and grabbed the long whip that Sakura Kyoko had swung at him. The whip struck like a heavy bronze bell, producing a dull hum.
The effect is good.
Yushou Mirai's lips curled slightly. How long has it been since the tattoo was done? Although her palm was sore, she was unharmed. The effect was surprisingly good. He pulled the whip back, causing Sakura Kyoko to stumble.
It was too late to abandon the whip at this point. Yoyo Mirai held the spear upside down, using the shaft as a stick, and lashed it down at her back. If the blow landed squarely, she would immediately collapse.
"stop!"
Countless ribbons shot out from the ground, grabbing the shaft of Izayoi Mirai's gun, while another part wrapped around Sakura Kyoko, pulling her away to a distance.
Mami Tomoe jumped down from above and landed between the two of them.
Izayoi Mirai put the gun back into her personal space and shrugged: "Mami, you can't blame me for this."
Mami Tomoe looked at him, then at Kyoko Sakura, who was bound like a dumpling and looked defiant. She sighed. Just to be safe, Kyoko Sakura's mouth was also sealed. She was struggling and making "woo-woo" sounds, trying to break free from Mami Tomoe's restraints.
But what made her eyes blaze with anger was that Mami Tomoe actually apologized to that scumbag: "Kyoko was too impulsive this time. I apologize to you on her behalf."
Izayoi waved her hand dismissively, "It's fine, she can't beat me anyway."
He looked at Sakura Kyoko like an elder on the road of life, intending to impart some life experience to her: "Kyoko, don't be angry if you can't beat me. After all, you are still young. Don't be impatient. As long as you are willing to persevere in your training, when you are seventy or eighty years old, you will be able to reach one percent of my current level. Keep it up."
Sakura Kyoko was so angry that she trembled all over. She lost her balance and fell to the ground, rolling several times. She was covered in dust and dirt. Fortunately, Tomoe Mami pulled on the ribbon in time and lifted her up.
Mami Tomoe said helplessly, "Cousin, why are you doing this?"
“Just venting my anger.” Izayoi Mirai smiled smugly and waved to Tomoe Mami. “Well then, see you tomorrow.”
Watching Izayoi Mirai disappear from sight, Tomoe Mami walked to Sakura Kyoko's side, and the ribbon loosened, releasing her mouth.
"Mami, why are you protecting him?" Sakura Kyoko's chest heaved, she was furious with Izayoi Mirai. "That guy is awful, I have to teach him a lesson!"
“You can’t beat him.” Mami Tomoe could tell that Kyoko Sakura was just being stubborn, but she didn’t let go of her and carried her back.
"Let me go!" Sakura Kyoko struggled violently as she was lifted into the air, like a salted fish trying to flip over. "Tomoe Mami, let me go!"
Under the night sky, the calls continued incessantly, startling a flock of birds returning home.
On the other side, looking at the gradually familiar streets, Izayoi Mirai sighed almost imperceptibly. He had gradually gotten used to the girls' affections. Humans are visual creatures by nature, and outstanding looks naturally make it easy to gain the favor of the opposite sex and even the same sex.
During his school years, many girls had feelings for him, but it usually didn't go beyond that, just like Mami Tomoe.
He was also aware of the girl's vague feelings of affection. After all, if a pretty girl often cares about you and you have some kind of relationship with her, you would also feel a little flutter in your heart, right? It wasn't anything particularly intense, just a liking.
Yushou Future didn't have a good solution either. He couldn't just take them all down; even if he had ten kidneys, it wouldn't be enough. Even the Joyful Zen couldn't withstand it.
If it can dissipate over time, that's fine, but if it can't...
We'll talk about it when the time comes.
Izayoi Mirai decisively chose to postpone the discussion; although escaping was shameful, it was useful.
Not to mention that he has now seen Medea at the door.
Welcome home.
She said gently.
Chapter Twenty-Nine: Asami's Taste is Super Sweet
The next day, Izayoi Mirai witnessed Sakura Kyoko's revenge—
She transferred to this school.
When he heard that another transfer student had joined his class, he was already mentally prepared. Who else could be transferring at this point?
He had only been in class for a few minutes when he was challenged by Kyoko Sakura.
"Teacher, isn't what you're saying a bit too simplistic?"
She stood up, smiling defiantly, revealing two fangs beneath her lips. "Is this how you just coast through your paycheck every day?"
It's not surprising that she would say that about Yushou Mirai. Before deciding to take the university entrance exam, the educational atmosphere in Japan was very relaxed, and the exercises were usually at the level of textbook examples. As long as Sakura Kyoko was well-prepared, it would be easy for her to find fault.
The students below the stage all looked on with anticipation, after all, this teacher had already shown off her skills some time ago and was not easy to deal with. Moreover, most of them preferred a relaxed and comfortable learning environment and deeply resented Sakura Kyoko's attempt to increase the difficulty of the course. They were ready to see her get slapped in the face.
That was indeed what Izayoi Mirai planned. Even disregarding her past life, she was still a high school student, and from a technologically advanced world at that.
He erased the problem from the blackboard and rewrote it.
Sakura Kyoko stared at the paper for a long time, unable to put pen to paper. She questioned, "Are you going to try to fool me with something I haven't learned?"
“Of course not.” Izayoi Mirai laughed happily. “This problem can definitely be solved using the methods we’ve learned.”
He could swear on Kurumi's head that this question was indeed within the curriculum. It was a competition question; how could that be considered beyond the curriculum? It was meant to train flexible thinking.
"It seems Sakura-san can't solve this. Shall we try a different arithmetic problem?"
Sakura Kyoko snapped, "You look down on me?"
"No, no, no, I don't mean to look down on you, I really don't think you could do it."
As Izayoi Mirai spoke, she wrote another problem on the blackboard:
There are three irregularly shaped containers. Two are filled with 8 jin (4 catties) of water, and the third is an empty container that can hold 3 jin (1.5 catties). How can you divide 16 jin (8 catties) of water equally among four people with empty containers (the water given cannot be poured back into the three irregularly shaped containers)?
Izayoi Mirai puts down the chalk: "Sakura-san, please begin your performance."
The situation reached a stalemate. Even Sakura Kyoko couldn't find fault with it. The question was obvious at a glance; it only required addition and subtraction. It should be at an elementary school level. Why couldn't she solve it?
After trying many times and still failing, she began to doubt her own intelligence.
The other students worked on it for a while, but when they realized they couldn't solve it, they simply put down their pens and watched the show, which was much more interesting than doing math problems.
Yosuke Mirai smiled silently, keeping her achievements hidden. She felt she had gone to great lengths to promote mathematics in Japan in another world, and the red scarf on her chest looked even brighter and more attractive.
"Have any other students solved it?" Izayoi Mirai asked casually, but to her surprise, someone actually responded.
"I made it."
Queen Cupid stood up.
She gave Sakura Kyoko a defiant look, went up to the podium and wrote down the answer, eliciting a gasp of amazement.
Watching Kyubey-chan return to her seat with her head held high, the sense of déjà vu for Yosuke Mirai grew stronger and stronger.
The sheer joy of showing off in front of others and the exclamation of passersby suggests that this Kyubey's gender-bending work has been very successful; it has already learned to enjoy showing off and getting slapped in the face.
Izayoi Mirai clearly noticed the provocative glance that Kyubey had given to Sakura Kyoko earlier.
What's next?
He touched his chin, feeling that things were getting interesting.
Kyoko Sakura sensed something was being targeted; a strange atmosphere enveloped her and Mami Tomoe—a subtle rejection emanating from the class.
At first, she thought it was Mirai Izayoi who did it, but there was no need for her to target Mami Tomoe as well. Then, she turned her suspicious gaze to Kyubey-chan.
The malice in her smile was utterly undisguised.
Sakura Kyoko went straight over and dragged Kyubey-chan to a corner. Kyubey-chan had no power to resist.
"Hey, what exactly do you mean? Are you targeting me and Mami?"
"What is Sakura-san saying?" Kyubey-chan blinked and asked, pretending not to understand.
Sakura Kyoko completely ignored conversational skills and disdained wasting too much time on ordinary people. She slammed her fist against the wall, creating a spiderweb-like network of cracks.
"Stop pretending. Do you think I can't see through you? I advise you not to get any funny ideas. It's one thing to exclude newcomers, but Mami is clearly a senior student, isn't she? Why are you doing this?"
