In the game: I stole Groudon at the start.

Although Alain was focusing all his efforts on commanding Tyranitar, Tyranitar still managed to overcome the air superiority, speed advantage, and sheer strength.

The ferocious aerodragon quickly defeated Tyranitar!

The ensuing battle was hardly suspenseful; Alain's Pokémon were defeated one after another by Aerodactyl's powerful onslaught.

The battle situation became increasingly clear, and everyone could see that Crimson held an absolute advantage.

"I never expected... another crushing defeat..."

Clutching the last Poké Ball tightly, Alain glanced at Aerodactyl in mid-air and gave a bitter smile.

too strong.

Just like the battle with Bakura in Desert City, he was almost no match for him.

The Aerodactyl's attack came too fast and too fiercely; his Pokémon barely had time to react before he was defeated.

How can he possibly fight against such a battle?

"Charizard! You're the last one!"

But soon, Ai Lan rallied and threw his last partner away with a heavy thud.

A bright orange Charizard roared as it landed on the field, staring intently at the Aerodactyl opposite it.

"It really is Charizard. In that case, let's use this one."

After carefully examining Alain's Charizard, Crimson rarely smiled and retracted Aerodactyl.

"Charizard! I choose you!"

He pulled out another Poké Ball and threw it without hesitation.

"roar~"

With a roar, a darker-colored fire-breathing dragon raised its head and howled, then landed heavily in front of the crimson dragon.

A civil war among Charizards!

"Wow~ Brother Chi's Charizard!"

Ash's eyes lit up, and he was extremely excited, wishing he could take out his Charizard as well.

The battle between Charizards is undoubtedly very eye-catching.

"That Crimson guy."

When Bakura saw that Crimson had actually changed its spirit at this moment, he couldn't help but laugh out loud.

This is the Education Bureau; in a way, it's practically a case of killing someone by attacking their spirit.

Of course, Bakura believed that Red definitely didn't have such thoughts; he probably just wanted to use Charizard to fight the opponent's Charizard.

Some people might be more extreme and genuinely believe that Crimson is deliberately trying to manipulate emotions.

You could have easily defeated your opponent with Aerodactyl, but instead you chose to use the same Pokémon to beat them up and send them packing...

"These two fire-breathing dragons are not comparable."

Lusamine also shook her head; with her sharp eyes, she could also tell the difference between the two Charizards.

……

And at this moment on the field.

"Charizard, answer my heart~."

Ai Lan clearly understood that his opponent was much stronger than him, and he didn't hesitate at all.

Ai Lan placed his hand on the keystone and said in a deep voice.

"Beyond Evolution! Super Evolution!"

Alain's Charizard roared, its body enveloped in a dazzling light of evolution, and in the blink of an eye, the new form of Charizard X came into everyone's view!

Super Evolution!

"Wow~ Alain's Charizard has undergone Mega Evolution. Mega Evolution can greatly increase strength."

"I wonder if this Charizard X can defeat Red's Charizard."

The sunglasses-wearing host exclaimed in surprise, "Speaking of super evolution, it's rarely seen at this year's Quartz convention."

The reason for this is that finding Mega Stones is extremely difficult, especially since they must be Mega Stones that correspond to the Pokémon, making it even more difficult.

Perhaps in a few years, more Mega Stones will appear, but for now, Mega Stones are still in short supply and have a high price.

"Come on, this is my first time fighting a Mega Evolved Pokémon."

Crimson pulled down the brim of her hat slightly and said to Ai Lan with a pleasant smile on her face.

He specifically switched to Charizard because he wanted to experience Charizard X firsthand.

"Of course! I won't let you down!"

"Charizard! Flamethrower!"

With a serious expression, Alain waved his hand emphatically and shouted at Charizard X.

Charizard X flapped its wings and took flight, its mouth brimming with dense, dark blue flames. The next moment, a pillar of blue fire shot fiercely towards Charizard.

"When it comes to fire-type attacks, my Charizard won't lose!"

"Charizard, unleash your flames to meet the attack!"

Red raised its head slightly and shouted at Charizard.

Charizard slightly opened its mouth, and scorching flames erupted, a huge red pillar of fire meeting Charizard X's jet of fire.

The two identical attacks collided violently in mid-air.

Dark blue and crimson flames clashed wildly, creating waves of heat and intense temperatures across the entire battlefield.

But soon, the crimson flames forcefully suppressed the dark blue fire pillars and continued to advance towards Charizard X!

"what?"

Alain's pupils contracted. Even after Mega Evolution, the same fire attack was still inferior to that of the Crimson Charizard?

"Charizard! Fly over and use Dragon Claw!"

Alain gritted his teeth and shouted loudly at Charizard X.

Since his special attacks are inferior to his opponent's, he'll engage in close combat! His Charizard is extremely adept at both types of attacks!

Furthermore, Charizard X's ability is Hard Claws, which increases the power of its contact attacks by 30%!

Alain doesn’t believe that Red doesn’t have a Mega-evolved Charizard that can be stronger than his Charizard X in close combat!

Charizard X flapped its wings to avoid the incoming flames and flew directly towards Charizard's location.

"storm!"

Its crimson pupils flickered slightly as it gave a command to Charizard.

The fire-breathing dragon took a slight flight, its two wings flapping heavily, instantly forming a violent hurricane. The terrifying wind pressure made it impossible for its opponent to move an inch.

Charizard X raised its arms to shield itself from the hurricane's impact. The hurricane attack came too fast for it to retaliate.

"Dragon's Claw!"

Red continued to give orders to Charizard in a deep voice.

Under the suppression of the storm attack, Charizard X could hardly move, but similarly, it was also impossible to launch any more attacks at it.

Charizard stopped its storm, its claws glowed with a blue light, and it swiftly attacked Charizard X.

"We were completely outmatched."

Seeing that Charizard X had fallen into a passive and disadvantageous position after only a short while of fighting, Lillie pouted.

She had thought that the Mega-evolved Charizard would be incredibly powerful.

"The difference in their fundamental strength is too great; it cannot be bridged by super evolution. The battle is about to end."

Gladion said calmly, "It's not that Mega Evolution is ineffective."

Mega Evolution provides a significant boost to Pokémon, but it doesn't guarantee an absolute advantage for any Mega Evolved Pokémon.

Ultimately, it depends on the strength of the Pokémon itself; that's the foundation.

As Gladion predicted, Charizard and Charizard X engaged in close combat, but the difference in strength allowed Charizard to knock Charizard X down!

With a final burst of Dragon Pulse, Charizard X lost its ability to battle.

Red wins!

"Let's congratulate Crimson for his overwhelming victory over Ailan, becoming the first player to advance to the quarterfinals!"

The judges, including the host in sunglasses, announced the final result and loudly congratulated Crimson.

"Nothing too surprising."

Seeing Akane shake hands with Ailan in the arena, Bakura's eyes flickered slightly.

It's a pity that Ash didn't defeat Alain himself.

Ash's strength is actually no less than Alain's; it's just that he only had a breakthrough once in the Sinnoh region, knowing to switch out all his old Pokémon when participating in the tournament.

The remaining areas all used newly captured Pokémon.

If Ash had brought back his former main team to form a squad at the Luna Contest, would the battle against Alain have been so thrilling?

of course not.

However, all of that is in the past.

Bakura shook his head and turned his gaze to the big screen, where the members of the second team had appeared.

Bakura vs. Satoshi!

"..."

Baku looked at the battle list with a good laugh. His opponent was Ash?

Funny?

He really doesn't have any fondness for beating weaker opponents.
