Accompanying the dog was a middle-aged man in a suit and tie with shiny gray hair.

He is the tabloid reporter Bob was referring to, Welsh.

Upon hearing this, Momo patted Kate's head and said, "Since you're getting hot dogs, why won't you share some with me?"

"Wang!"

Faced with Momo's questioning, the dog named Kate became even more excited, probably thinking that Momo was playing with him.

"I really don't know what you were thinking. Why would you name a cute Border Collie like Cat? If poor Kate knew what the name meant, she'd probably cry."

"Actually, I initially wanted a cat, but I already have a dog, so I can only name her Kate. Looking at her, do you think she might be sad?"

Seeing that both of them were looking at it, Kate excitedly straightened up, stood on her hind legs, and kept barking excitedly.

"Probably not. But in any case, it's a good dog, and I like it very much. If I have the chance, I'd like to meet you, child. By the way, why don't you come to my place? I'll treat you to a good meal, how about it?"

"I couldn't ask for more, Mr. Wales."

"Haha, it's settled then, brave child!"

Welsh shook hands with Momer politely, then jumped up as if he had discovered some big news, and walked away with light steps.

This startled Bob, who exclaimed, "Hey, you little rascal, you're involved with him? He's not a good person, he's a conman who cheated on both of his wives. Are you sure you haven't been fooled by him?"

Momo shrugged, not answering, but instead held out his hand and said, "Uncle Bob, look at my fingers, is there something wrong with them?"

Bob was taken aback, but did not refuse. His large, stained hand pulled Mo Mo's fair hand over to examine it closely, but then he threw it away, saying, "You dare to tease me? Even if I eat your bread, you can't tease me. Uncle Bob has a temper."

"No, uncle, won't you smell it? It should still have a scent."

Bob frowned, took Momo's hand again, sniffed it casually, and then his expression changed drastically.

The only change was that he suddenly saw Mo Mo's bright, sparkling eyes, and his expression turned flustered.

But very quickly, in less than a second, he regained his composure and said, "Alright, you little brat, what are you trying to do!"

"I just want to know if Uncle Bob knows what these things under my fingernails are. He was in the army, right? I want to make sure he's not lying."

"Ha, I'm lying? I can smell the gunpowder between your fingers, it's the priming powder from a 7.62mm bullet!"

Bob stared at Momo, seemingly trying to read his thoughts from his face, and said, "I'm just curious, how did a kid like you end up with this thing?"

“You know I work at Ham’s shop.”

Bob was taken aback, his face showing some anger, and said, "That bastard not only hired child labor, but also let you bang such a dangerous thing!"

"No, this thing isn't dangerous at all. What's more dangerous is..."

55. Relatives who are not family members

Bob immediately tensed up upon hearing Momo's words, listening intently for fear of missing a single word.

At this moment, Mo Mo seemed to realize that she had said too much, and immediately shut her mouth and covered it.

Momo's action made Bob's eyelids twitch. He subconsciously looked left and right to make sure no one was watching their interaction before he breathed a sigh of relief.

"Hey, you little rascal, are you going to stop halfway through? Aren't you just testing my curiosity? Hasn't Uncle Bob always been looking out for you?"

"I've been feeding you all along, uncle. You would have starved to death without me."

“You’re kidding!” Bob seemed insulted, pointing to the beer bottles at his feet. “I have enough money to buy beer.”

A hint of disdain flashed in Mo Mo's eyes as he said, "So you just don't have money to buy bread?"

"Didn't you bring me bread?"

"That's because they're too poor to afford bread! To be honest, Uncle Bob, I really look down on you. Even I can support myself, but you can't. You're not even as good as me."

The homeless man's beard twitched, and looking at him, I was really worried that he might suddenly get angry and punch Mo Mo.

"You really won't tell me?"

Mo Mo covered her mouth again and shook her head firmly.

"So……"

Bob was scratching his head, dandruff flying everywhere; he really hadn't been paying much attention to Momer. Suddenly, Kate's panting made his eyes light up. He abandoned Momer, picked up Kate, and said, "If you don't tell me, I'm taking Kate with me!"

Momo's eyes widened, seemingly surprised that this clumsy homeless man had suddenly become clever, especially looking at Kate's innocent dog-like face. He was finally defeated by Bob's shamelessness.

"Okay, I'll only tell you this secretly, but don't tell anyone else!"

"Don't worry, don't worry, Uncle Bob's mouth is as firm as a diamond, he will never tell a third person!"

After hearing Bob's obviously unbelievable oath, Momo nodded in satisfaction and said, "Actually, Uncle Ham asked me to make some sausages, gunpowder sausages."

After saying that, Momo snatched Kate from Bob's arms, threw her on the ground, and ran away with Kate, who was shouting excitedly as she ran.

Bob stood there stunned for a moment before he reacted and angrily swung his fist in the direction Momo had fled.

"You little bastard, how dare you play me!"

Sausages made with gunpowder—what a ridiculous reason! It's not like they're just fooling him...

and many more……

Suddenly, Bob realized something, and he felt as if he had been struck by lightning. His face gradually turned pale as he considered a possibility...

Gunpowder can't be made into sausages, of course, but if it were shaped like a sausage and fitted with a small detonating device...

Bob felt like his throat was on fire.

Kuroyukihime still doesn't understand what happened, but Bob seems to have figured it out. Kuroyukihime wanted to observe Bob to see if she could hear what he had to say, but she felt a pulling force on her body.

The surrounding scenery changed rapidly, and in the blink of an eye, Kuroyukihime was back beside Momo.

"This is……"

“You are merely a point of view, and will naturally act in accordance with Momo’s actions. What he cannot see will naturally not exist in his memory.”

Kuroyukihime understood that Momo didn't see Bob's reaction or what he did next—even though Momo probably knew perfectly well what was going on.

That's right, that's the feeling of Kuroyukihime.

She gradually sensed that Mo Mo was doing something, and not just doing it himself, but also mobilizing everyone around him to do something together.

The surrounding scenery is changing rapidly, and the entire block seems to be aging quickly.

If the gun shop where Momo works still has a bit of an urban feel, then the low-rise buildings, the mottled walls, and even the large and small holes in the glass of each room, combined with these features, completely lack any semblance of a modern city.

Mo Mo, a little child, was walking along the street carrying food. Every now and then, various children would appear on the roadside, looking at the food in Mo Mo's hands with greedy eyes, but none of them wanted to snatch it.

This is probably what Bob meant by Momo's intimidating presence on this street.

The deterrent power of just an eleven or twelve-year-old child?

It sounds ridiculous, but it's all true.

The surrounding gazes only turned away when Momo walked into a wooden house in a corner.

"I'm home, Mom!"

As soon as Momo entered the house, he grinned and greeted everyone loudly, but no one responded.

Momo didn't mind and carried the food into the kitchen. Inside, there was a curly-haired white woman wearing an apron, carefully watching the food in the pot.

The pot contained whole potatoes and tomatoes, water, and a haphazard sprinkling of countless seasonings. Yet, the bottom of the pot remained still; the woman hadn't turned on the stove.

Even so, the woman looked at everything with expectant eyes, as if waiting for a pot of delicious vegetable soup to be ready.

"Are you making something delicious, Mom?"

Momo poked his head out, and the woman smiled brightly at him, saying, "You're back, George. Are you tired from work?"

"Great, Mom, I'm not tired at all. I bought some food!"

"As expected of my son, just wait, George, I'll have dinner ready soon. We'll eat as soon as Jenny gets back!"

Mo Mo smiled and shook his head, pushing the woman away, and said, "Mom, you've worked hard. Leave it to me. Have you forgotten? I'm very good at cooking!"

The woman blinked, seemed to think for a moment, hesitated, and said, "But George, you've worked hard all day, that's enough. Mom can handle this."

"So, Mom, you're the one who works the hardest!"

Unable to persuade Mo Mo, the woman was finally disarmed by him. He then pushed her out of the kitchen, pressed her onto the sofa, and stared blankly at the coffee table, as if lost in thought.

Momo returned to the kitchen, took the ingredients out of the pot, peeled and chopped them again, and finally decided to make vegetable soup according to the woman's original idea.

Kuroyukihime watched all this in silence. Now she knew the relationship between the two people: a fake mother-son relationship. The apparent relationship was already unbelievable, but the true relationship was even more unbelievable.

What silenced Kuroyukihime even more was that the woman's body shimmered with a brilliant white light, symbolizing a white heart wound, the same heart wound as her sister's.

White represents positive emotions such as guilt when one is heartbroken.

Kuroyukihime didn't know what her sister's heartache was, but she could understand the pain this woman had caused Momo, probably out of deep guilt!

The guilt he felt for his father's actions, and also for his mother's death, all piled onto this woman, this false mother.

"George, where's your girlfriend? I haven't seen her in ages, I've almost forgotten what she looks like!"

"Mom, I'll bring her to meet you in a while. Have you forgotten? My girlfriend is the most beautiful and adorable girl in the world, and I love her very much!"

"Yes, I remember now, she was such a lovely girl."

Even though she knew the two people weren't talking about her, and that Mo Mo was just brushing off the woman, Kuroyukihime still couldn't help but feel a jolt in her heart.

"George, have you finished your homework for today? You're taking the SAT soon, how's your preparation going?"

"Don't worry, Mom, I'm sure I'll get into a good university and apply for a full scholarship."

"Is that so? That's good. He truly is my son."

Upon hearing yet another strange conversation, Kuroyukihime's expression changed slightly. Although she knew the woman wasn't mentally stable, this absurd feeling...

"George, what brings you back? Where are Anleina and Ben? How could you leave your wife and children to come see an old woman like me?"

"Are you kidding me, Mom? You are the person I respect most. Of course, my wife and children have to be put aside."

"Go home early after dinner, they'll be worried about you!"

"Okay, Mom."
