What lay before Mo Mo was the House of the Lost. A hint of surprise flickered in Mo Mo's eyes; clearly, the scene before him exceeded his expectations.

In Momo's original imagination, the Lost Home was not only desolate, but probably dilapidated and chaotic.

After all, it was a cat demon who took over the small village of Lost Home. Cat demons do not have human intelligence, and even if they settled in a human village, they could not restore the village to its former glory.

A human village, from its architecture and facilities to its maintenance and cleaning, requires human labor. It necessitates the cooperation and division of labor among the villagers, which is a manifestation of human civilization in a small village.

The cat demons certainly wouldn't possess such civilization. Even with Orange leading them, it would be a miracle if they didn't tear down the roof to sharpen their claws.

However, Mo Mo's current situation is much better than he had expected.

Although Mo Mo didn't know what the Lost Home looked like before the cat demons moved in, looking at the well-organized buildings, the clean roads, and even the corners of the streets, Mo Mo clearly realized that the Lost Home now possessed order and civilization.

Instead of letting their wild instincts control them and destroy their human settlement, the cat demons did their best to maintain the village's original appearance and adapt to human civilization.

Mo Mo couldn't help but admire this behavior. Could it be that all of this was led by the orange in Mo Mo's arms, who was in a daze from eating candy?

If that's the case, then Momo needs to re-evaluate Orange. In Momo's understanding, the cat spirit Orange from Gensokyo wasn't that mature.

Is it that someone or some kind of monster has settled in the Lost Home, guiding the cat demons of the Lost Home in their actions, or is it that Orange, for some unknown reason, has matured far more than the Orange that Mo Mo knew?

Mo Mo doesn't know yet; she'll have to ask Cheng later. Cheng, in Mo Mo's arms, has stopped twitching at the corner of her mouth; clearly, she's finished the candy. However, the taste of catnip hasn't faded, perhaps because Cheng is so engrossed in it that she doesn't want to wake up.

Momo simply carried Cheng into Lost Home and curiously looked at the cats that had appeared in Lost Home.

There wasn't just one cat demon, Cheng. As a common type of monster, Mo Mo could see seven or eight cat demons scattered in various corners, their eyes filled with curiosity and vigilance as they stared at him.

These cat demons are clearly not humanoid, which means that their bodies are more incorporating cat and demonic traits than human intelligence. From this perspective, Orange's role as their leader is perfectly justifiable.

However, what happened next completely surprised Mo Mo.

As Momo passed under the eaves of a house, a small head suddenly popped upside down from the roof, looking at Momo with curious eyes.

When she is upside down, her two cat ears are pointing downwards, while her two tails wag irregularly, seemingly expressing her unease and curiosity.

This was undoubtedly a cat demon, but a humanoid cat demon. However, judging from her size, Mo Mo realized that this cat demon was probably even smaller than Cheng.

"Hello?"

Momo tried to greet her, but the response was a long "meow," followed by a series of strangely pronounced "orange."

Clearly, this cat demon couldn't even speak properly; the only pronunciation she had just learned was of Orange's name.

Are you worried about Orange?

Mo Mo smiled slightly and said, "It's alright, Cheng just needs some rest and will recover quickly. What's your name? Can you tell me?"

Momo's attempts to communicate with the cat demon failed again, only to be thwarted by her tilted head and sudden silly giggles. Clearly, although she had already taken human form, she was still far inferior to Cheng.

"Ok."

Mo Mo gave up and then looked around. Mo Mo's conversation with the cat demon had attracted many more cat demons.

Most of the cat demons remained in cat form, with only a few having transformed into human form. However, they clearly lacked awareness of their human nature and continued to mingle with the cat demons in their cat forms.

The only thing that disappointed Mo Mo—or rather, comforted her—was that at least these little cat demons were all dressed properly and were stumbling along on their own two legs. This showed that they had received education and care.

Mo Mo curiously observed the cat demons, and the cat demons were equally curious about Mo Mo. The cat-form cat demons, out of wildness, dared not get too close to Mo Mo, while the human-form cat demons gathered around Mo Mo, staring at him intently.

"Is there really not a single one that can speak?"

"Meow!"

"Meow meow!"

"Meow?"

Unfortunately, Mo Mo was only met with a series of meows of varying pitches. This convinced Mo Mo that, let alone communicating with them, they probably couldn't even understand what he was saying.

What should we do now?

However, although she didn't know how to communicate with these cat demons, Mo Mo didn't feel anxious at all.

These are cat-eared girls! A bunch of tiny cat-eared girls are meowing at you nonstop. Luckily, Mo Mo isn't a cat lover, otherwise this scene alone would be enough to melt the heart of any cat lover.

"Meow, meow!"

Just as Mo Mo hesitated, a cat demon suddenly cried out excitedly and jumped directly at Mo Mo, its target being Cheng in Mo Mo's arms.

Mo Mo frowned, unsure of what the little cat girl was thinking. She didn't know if she thought Cheng was in danger and wanted to save her, or if she sensed Mo Mo's danger and wanted to attack him.

Regardless of the reason, Momo chose to retreat. With Momo's current abilities, these cat-eared girls far surpassed ordinary people. However, the power and speed that terrified most were merely child's play for Momo.

However, to Mo Mo's surprise, before she could even back away while still holding Cheng, Cheng jumped out of Mo Mo's arms and grabbed the cat demon that was leaping towards her. Immediately after landing and opening her eyes, Cheng cried out in alarm, "It's all gone! Nothing's left! I didn't steal anything!"

Mo Mo was slightly taken aback, then realized what was going on. It turned out that the cat demons weren't talking to Mo Mo at all, but were communicating with Cheng.

As for the reason, it's easy to guess. Most likely, the little cat demons smelled a trace of catnip. Although the scent was too faint for them to be as intoxicated by it as Orange, it's entirely possible that they were excited enough to come and ask Orange what was going on.

As Mo Mo had guessed, the cat demon that Cheng had stopped didn't listen to Cheng's explanation. Instead, it hugged Cheng and kept sniffing at her.

The humanoid cat demons around them did the same. They surrounded Orange, each sniffing, as if they were determined to find something in Orange that would pique their interest.

Finally, the cat demon that Momo first encountered found a breakthrough. She focused her gaze on Orange's lips, then hugged Orange's neck and leaned in to lick Orange's lips.

"Waaaah, don't do that! I really didn't steal anything! I'm going to get angry if you keep doing this!"

Mo Mo didn't know if Cheng was going to get angry, but she knew that Cheng was about to cry. She seemed to have become the cat demons' favorite, and they kept hugging and licking her.

For some, this might be a wonderful perk. But for Cheng, it's clearly a torment.

Helpless, Cheng looked at Mo Mo and struggled to say, "Help me!"

"Okay, happy to help."

Mo Mo agreed without hesitation; after all, he was a guest at Cheng's place. It would be a real shame for Mo Mo if their relationship were to end because of a small piece of candy.

After all, Momo still has to start with Orange and then face the entire Gensokyo.

It seemed the little cat demons understood Mo Mo's words, or perhaps Cheng had said something to them. The little cat demons stared wide-eyed at Mo Mo, their expectant looks making them seem like real pet cats.

Seeing this, Mo Mo didn't stand on ceremony. The quantum light in his hand transformed into a large bunch of candies, which looked similar to the ones Orange had just eaten.

Cheng's eyes immediately welled up with tears, and she said, "No, if we give these things to them, they'll forget everything I worked so hard to teach them!"

Orange had already realized the terrifying effects of these candies containing catnip. Even she, the leader of the cat demons, couldn't resist such temptation, let alone the little cat demons around her.

Although Cheng said no, her actions betrayed her words. Instead of stopping Mo Mo, she rushed to him first, practically ready to be fed.

Seeing this, the other little cat demons were outraged. They started pulling at each other, meowing incessantly, and were almost about to start a fight.

"Don't grab it, don't grab it, there's enough for everyone."

This scene made Mo Mo beam with joy. With so many little cat demons to eat, anyone would be charmed by their cuteness.

However, this scene also made Mo Mo realize a problem. He looked at Cheng, whose face was not looking too good, and a confident smile appeared on his lips.

Let's start with Orange right now, as for everything in Gensokyo.

114 Momo and the Loli Cats

Momo conjured up another handful of candy, and upon seeing the candy reappear, all the cat demons, including Cheng, had their eyes light up.

Orange still had some sense and knew she shouldn't eat this candy, at least not indefinitely, and she certainly shouldn't let the cat demons, especially the humanoid cat demons, who were less intelligent than her, eat it.

However, for felines, catnip is an irresistible temptation.

Sure enough, although Cheng looked conflicted and reluctant, she still obediently opened her mouth, waiting for Mo Mo to put the candy into her mouth.

This time, Cheng was even more excited than before, almost to the point of biting Mo Mo's finger and refusing to let go.

The rest of the cat demons behaved even worse. If Orange was somewhat rational, the remaining cat demons, big and small, couldn't even wait in line. They pounced on Mo Mo, grabbing whatever they could get their hands on, meowing excitedly incessantly.

Fortunately, everything Momo possesses can be altered using materials from the afterlife. Ordinary food is all he needs; it's not enough to feed a few little cat demons. Even if he were to face Saigyouji Yuyuko head-on, what would Momo have to worry about?

After each cat demon had a lollipop stuffed into its mouth, making them almost unable to close it, the cat demons quieted down, each covering their mouths and squinting their eyes, savoring the sweetness and deliciousness in their mouths.

The humanoid cat demons, as well as all the cat-shaped cat demons, all gathered together and surrounded Mo Mo. They seemed to have accepted Mo Mo and were as quiet as lazy house cats.

If ordinary people in the human village who had been frightened by the cat demon saw such a scene, they would probably be shocked.

"Hey, this...something's not right!"

At this moment, Cheng moved closer to Mo Mo, reached out and tugged at Mo Mo's sleeve, her eyes filled with a hint of doubt, but also a sense of relaxation and ease.

Savoring an orange with added catnip candy, it's impossible to remain vigilant even if you want to.

The current Orange was in much better condition than the weak and trembling Orange that Mo Mo had just been holding. Although her face was rosy and her eyes were shining with ecstasy, she was able to speak to Mo Mo rationally.

"Yes, I reduced the amount of catnip in it, making it something that will help you relax and have a good appetite, so it won't be too stimulating for you."

Seeing the hint of regret and dissatisfaction on Cheng's face, Mo Mo smiled slightly and said, "Cheng, do you really want to appear so weak and obedient in front of your subordinates?"

Cheng paused slightly, as if she had thought of something, and her gaze towards Mo Mo became somewhat evasive. However, she still straightened her chest and said indistinctly, "No matter what, I am their leader, the Meow Boss, that's beyond question!"

"Anyway, thank you for the candy... I'll treat you to some more later!"

After saying that, Cheng, like the other little cat demons, just needed to curl up in a ball and find a quiet place to close her eyes. Seeing this, Mo Mo wasn't in a hurry and began to think about the current situation.

In fact, Momo has been in a quantum state ever since her body was destroyed by Yakumo Yukari.

Unlike Momo's previous quantum incarnation, even if Momo were to completely transform into quantum light, it would only be a change in one form, and he would still be alive and well.

Mo Mo hid inside his head, observing everything that was happening outside. He even heard Yakumo Yukari's mutterings in the gap and her faint "I'm sorry."

However, none of this brought Mo Mo any relief; on the contrary, it made her even more worried.

Even now, Momo still doesn't know what happened in Gensokyo, but she already knows Yakumo Yukari's motives.

Yukari Yakumo's reluctance to allow Momo to enter Gensokyo wasn't solely due to her dislike and hatred of him. She was also worried about Momo's immense power and feared that if Gensokyo were exposed to him, the enmity between the two would lead to Momo destroying Gensokyo.

Yakumo Yukari's attitude is something Momo should seriously consider. What exactly happened in Gensokyo? What did Yakumo Yukari do to make her certain that Momo would definitely be her enemy, or even take her anger out on the entire Gensokyo?

After much thought, Mo Mo could only come up with one reason.

Momo raised his arm.

The ribbon left by Reimu Hakurei appeared on her arm. The butterfly part of the ribbon was still a bright and beautiful red, while the fluttering ribbon part had been stained into an ominous black.

This signifies that Reimu Hakurei's condition is very bad. However, the only consolation for Momo over the past two days is that the rate of black infiltration is barely increasing. It seems that it is being restricted by some force, or perhaps Reimu Hakurei possesses a certain degree of resistance.

"Reimu, so it's because of you after all. Since you've made such a big fuss about us throughout Gensokyo, then Yukari Yakumo must know about our relationship and my existence."

"In other words, the only reason she's hostile towards me and preventing me from entering Gensokyo is because of you. Reimu, where are you now?"

Mo Mo muttered to himself, looking towards the east.
