The two swords clashed and separated instantly, but Anno stood still, while Tristan took several steps back.

He uses a rapier and usually relies on his speed to defeat his opponents.

However, now that he has encountered Anno, whose speed is no less than his and who is more adept at using a broadsword, he was instantly at a disadvantage.

Anno pressed his advantage relentlessly, unleashing a barrage of powerful strikes. Although Tristan was fast enough, his strength was weaker, and he was forced to retreat steadily under Anno's attacks.

Isolde, standing nearby, tried to cheer him on, shouting, "Lord Tristan, don't lose to this old man!"

Tristan, who was struggling to defend himself, heard Isolde's voice and his pupils contracted.

Anno seized the opportunity and slashed at the side of Tristan's rapier.

Tristan's sword snapped in two, and he was thrown to the ground several times by the force of the impact, his smooth red hair becoming disheveled.

"Lord Tristan!" Isolde cried out in alarm.

Tristan clutched his chest, spitting out a mouthful of blood. Just as he was about to look up, he found that Anno already had a sword to his neck.

Tristan tossed aside the broken dagger in his hand and gave a bitter smile: "I lost."

Anno wasn't pleased: "I've been a few years older, so I've actually benefited from it."

“It doesn’t matter, my swordsmanship is indeed inferior to yours.” Tristan said nonchalantly. “Make your move, Mr. Anno. If possible, please give me a dignified funeral, don’t leave my body to rot in the wilderness. Also, don’t kill Isolde.”

Anno nodded: "The knight will not lay a hand on a lady. Well then, farewell, Prince Mark."

As he spoke, he held up the chalk.

"No! Don't kill him!" A panicked and sorrowful voice came from the side.

Isolde lunged forward with all her might, shielding Tristan with her back before Anno's sword could strike.

Anno frowned.

The chalk in my hand stopped in mid-air.

Just then, the fifth person, who had come to the wilderness in the dead of night, appeared.

------------

Chapter 57 Is Arthur a woman?

Unlike the tense atmosphere in the desolate wilderness, the newlyweds inside the Camelot royal court continued the awkward atmosphere from the daytime.

Arthur shook his head, trying to calm himself down.

Guinevere noticed that Arthur seemed to want to say something, and she smiled and said, "Your Majesty, what do you want to say? As your wife, I will listen attentively."

Arthur paused, scratched the back of his head, and longed to play with his ahoge (cowlick).

Arthur pondered what to say, while Guinevere waited quietly with a smile.

Arthur gave a wry smile and sat down next to Guinevere.

"My Queen, what I want to tell you is a truth that is incredibly cruel to you, but even so, do you still want to know?"

Guinevere took Arthur's hand and gently kissed the back of it: "I am all yours, my king."

Arthur took a deep breath and, under Guinevere's slightly reddened gaze, removed the dress he was wearing over his coat.

However, what was revealed was not his muscular physique, but the truth that Arthur had been deceiving the entire country.

“This is what I wanted to tell you, my queen, Guinevere.” Arthur’s chest was wrapped in bandages, concealing the king’s secret.

Guinevere looked at Arthur, her pupils contracting slightly, revealing an expression of disbelief.

"King Arthur... was a woman?" she murmured to herself, covering her mouth.

Outside the royal city of Camelot.

Tristan grabbed Isolde's shoulder: "Princess, are you trying to disgrace my chivalry?"

Isolde sobbed softly, "I just didn't want you to die, Lord Cui, please forgive me."

Anno paid no attention to the sentimental feelings of the children on the side, nor did he regret failing to kill Tristan. Instead, he looked at the person who should not be there.

"Merlin, what are you doing here?" Anno asked, her tone relatively relaxed.

"It's just a dream, don't worry about it." The young man in the white robe replied with a grin.

Anno glanced at Tristan sitting on the ground and sighed.

"All I care about is Britain and the King; do whatever you want with the rest," he said, sheathing the chalk sword.

Tristan looked at Anno, then at Merlin, wondering what they were talking about.

He frowned: "Gentlemen, please don't play games with me. I, Tristan, am a knight, and I am not a sore loser."

“I care nothing for your honor, knight.” Anno’s expression was always icy as he reached out and helped Tristan up. “Consider it me letting you off the hook.”

Tristan stood there, completely bewildered.

“Tell me more, Merlin,” Anno gestured for Merlin to explain.

“Hey, Lord Anno, do you remember supporting the council before the war?” Merlin smiled.

"I remember, the king wanted to form a knightly order composed of the strongest knights."

"what do you mean……"

Merlin nodded: "The Knights have found a suitable table for the council, but there are very few knights qualified to sit on it."

"The king instructed me just after the banquet to keep an eye out for powerful knights from vassal states or those who do not serve their lord."

“And this melancholy Tristan is a suitable candidate.”

Anno nodded: "From the perspective of strength, he is indeed powerful enough."

Tristan was somewhat angry: "Are you insulting me, Knight Anno?"

He had clearly lost to Anno, yet Anno still praised him. In his view, this was an insult from the victor to the loser.

------------

Chapter Fifty-Eight: Why Be King

“This is not an insult, Lord Tristan.” Anno spread his hands. “Although it may sound like boasting for me to say this, my strength is very strong. There are no more than ten people on the island of Britain who can withstand three of my sword strikes.”

Tristan opened his mouth, but found that he couldn't say anything.

I was a little annoyed, but I didn't know who to vent my anger on, so I could only stand there blankly.

Anno tried to put on a friendly smile: "You heard what Merlin just said, what do you think, Lord Tristan?"

Tristan glanced at the man who had almost killed him but was now chatting with him casually, and sighed: "I will swear allegiance to King Arthur."

He understood that he couldn't escape, and in the duel just now, he had indeed lost to Anno. It was only natural that the loser should be dealt with by the winner.

“Then, we will be working together from now on. Welcome, Lord Tristan.” Anno extended his large, rough hand.

Tristan grasped Anno's hand and squeezed it, his face expressionless.

Merlin glanced at Princess Isolde, who was hiding behind Tristan, and smiled brightly: "Well then, Lord Tristan, see you tomorrow. Try to get to the royal court as early as possible. Anno and I won't disturb you and this lady any longer."

As he spoke, he grabbed Anno's cloak and quickly left, giving the two people standing under the moonlight an ambiguous look before he left.

Isolde's face flushed instantly, but Tristan seemed oblivious, looking at the hand he had just shaken with Anno.

"How sad..." he murmured to himself.

Inside the royal court.

Guinevere stared in disbelief at King Arthur's body, and couldn't help but touch the bandages tied to Arthur's chest.

"Uh..." Arthur blushed slightly and let out a soft moan that was clearly not from a man.

"Ah, my apologies, Your Majesty," Guinevere said instinctively.

Then, as if realizing something, she asked, "But...why are you a woman?...If you are a woman, why do you want to get married?"

She pulled her hand back, held it to her forehead, and stared blankly into her eyes.

Arthur looked at the dazed Guinevere and felt a pang of pain in his heart for some reason.

“As a symbol of Britain, I, as a man, am clearly more suited to this chaotic era,” she said in a low voice. “Therefore, I need to disguise myself.”

"From birth, as a baby girl, I received the education of a man, whether it was fighting, etiquette, speech and behavior... everything was based on male standards."

“I believe I am no less than any man, and even stronger than most men!” Arthur stood up, buttoned his shirt, walked to the window, and gazed at Camelot in the night. “But my true self is still a woman.”

“But women can also be queens. Why do you pretend to be a man, deceive the world, deceive Britain, and... deceive me who loves you?” Guinevere raised her head in pain.

Arthur didn't dare turn around to look at Guinevere; she was just looking out the window: "Because Britain needs a male king, and as for deceiving you, it's because I want to deceive the world."

"Then why not choose a man to be the King of Britain? Why choose you, a woman?"

“Because I am King Uther’s son, because I have received instruction from two teachers, because I have drawn the Sword of Chosen, because I am determined to protect the Britain that I inherited from my father,” Arthur said slowly, his voice trembling.

Chapter 59 Gao Wen and his younger siblings

Guinevere wasn't particularly tall, but Arthur, with his exceptionally upright posture, seemed to have figured something out.

"I married King Arthur, and I am King Arthur's queen."

She stood up, walked to Arthur's side, took his hand, and held it tightly.

"Whether you are the male Arthur, or the Arthur we know now..." she said earnestly, looking into Arthur's deep, unfathomable eyes.

“Queen…” Arthur’s body stiffened, and he gave Guinevere a relieved smile.

“Well then, it’s late, Your Majesty, please retire for the night…” Guinevere’s face flushed an unnatural red.

Arthur was taken aback: "Huh?"

Guinevere opened the door to a new world and pulled Arthur's hand, leading him back to the bedside.

"Wait, Your Majesty, wait!... Ugh!..."

……

After saying goodbye to Tristan, Merlin and Anno returned to Camelot together.

The two were about the same height, but one was thin and the other was muscular.

“Come to think of it, when we first met, I looked much younger than you.” Anno stroked his unshaven chin and looked his friend up and down.
