Chapter Seventy-One: Arthur, Morgan

Guinevere followed the path of the shadowy figure, but found no one.

She went to the room where King Arthur handled state affairs, only to find that Arthur was not in the room, the chair was overturned behind the table, and the furnishings were in disarray.

There was an empty basket on the table containing a few bread crumbs and an empty cup.

"Strange..." She picked up the cup and smelled it; there was a fishy, sweet smell inside.

Guinevere began to feel afraid.

She forced herself to calm down and noticed a few strands of hair left on the table. Although they were also gold in color, they were slightly dry and pale.

This wasn't Arthur's hair; someone else had been in this room. Guinevere realized instantly.

“Go find the Knights of the Round Table… No.” Guinevere thought of those powerful and valiant knights, but she gritted her teeth and decided to find Arthur herself.

This is a royal secret, possibly even a scandal, so it's best not to disclose it to the public for now.

She left Arthur's office and searched the royal court for Arthur, who was nowhere to be found.

Guinevere couldn't find Arthur anywhere—not in the council chamber where the round table was located, the restaurant where the banquet was held, or even in the garden outside the royal court.

But in the end, she found Arthur in an unexpected place.

That was her and Arthur's bedroom.

There was movement coming from inside the room. For safety's sake, Guinevere did not choose to open the door, but instead opened it a crack and leaned in to observe the situation inside.

But the next second, her pupils contracted, her mouth opened wide, a bead of cold sweat rolled down her forehead, and she showed an expression of disbelief.

On her and Arthur's bed, a woman who looked seven parts like Arthur was sitting on Arthur, who was lying on his back as if asleep, letting her do as she pleased.

The woman who bore a striking resemblance to Arthur was none other than Morgan Filer Pendragon, Arthur's half-sister.

Morgan mixed a potion into the fruit wine and tricked Arthur into drinking it. The effect of that potion was to transform Artoria from a woman into a man for a period of time.

He became male, at least in some ways.

After that, Morgan Freeman personally used his body to obtain information about Artoria.

Morgan Fairer wasn't quite sure why she was doing this. Her feelings for her sister were a clear and twisted hatred, but somehow, things were turning out this way.

Her face flushed, she kissed Artoria's cheek, her slender fingers stroking her long, flowing golden hair. Her eyes were hazy, and her rosy lips brushed against Artoria's ear. Even though Arthur had lost consciousness, she still said, "My brother, my king, let me give birth to the child of Britain, created with your own help, a child that can destroy you..."

At the doorway, Artoria, Arthur's wife, sat by the door, tears streaming down her face, covering her mouth and nose to keep herself from making a sound.

Arthur betrayed her; that's her only thought now.

Arthur, whom she loved and longed for so deeply, was on his wedding bed with another man...

She stood up silently and left the place.

Morgan Fairer noticed the noise at the door had stopped and gave a faint smile.

Then, she let out a sound of relief, a satisfied expression on her face.

The undifferentiated parts that shouldn't exist on Artoria dissipated as points of light.

Morgan got out of bed, dressed, and covered her sister with a blanket.

As she reached the door, she touched her belly and glanced back at the sleeping Artoria.

Finally, she walked out of the room as if she had never been there.

Chapter Seventy-Two: The Queen's Sorrow

King Arthur's older sister Morgan Fiennes used wicked means to get pregnant with Arthur's child.

Meanwhile, Lancelot, who had just become a Knight of the Round Table and was serving as a diplomat on a mission to a small country, also encountered the same predicament as his king.

The princess of that country, named Elaine, was saved by Lancelot during a war several years ago, and ever since then, she has been madly infatuated with him.

She tried to express her love, but Lancelot, who was deeply in love with Arthur (Artoria), firmly rejected her.

Princess Elaine was deeply saddened by this and even contemplated suicide.

However, her father persuaded Elaine to return home.

The king established diplomatic relations with Arthur and requested that King Arthur designate Lancelot as the channel for diplomatic exchanges between the two countries.

After all, Lancelot had already made a name for himself on the battlefield, and his reputation was at its peak. His powerful martial arts, handsome face, and noble status made him the most sought-after woman among the noble ladies of Britain and the surrounding areas. The king also wanted such a son-in-law.

It was a small matter, and Arthur, unaware of the details, readily agreed.

Princess Elaine is good in every way; she's beautiful and gentle, but she's a bit ruthless when it comes to love.

During Lancelot's routine diplomatic mission, Princess Elaine and her father seized the opportunity and used a sedative on Lancelot powerful enough to paralyze a bear.

Then, while Lancelot was unconscious, he forced himself to sleep with Lancelot.

Two days later, Lancelot regained consciousness.

Upon learning of the situation, Lancelot was enraged and drew the Undying Lake of Light, intending to kill Elaine, the woman who had tarnished his chivalry.

However, with a sickly smile, Princess Elaine revealed the fact that she was pregnant under Lancelot's sword.

Lancelot ultimately did not draw his sword, but he also did not intend to marry Elaine.

He coldly turned his back to Elaine: "I will explain to the King that I have been relieved of my post as a diplomat. You... better watch yourself."

Elaine realized her mistake; this stubborn man couldn't be tamed in such an absurd way. But it was too late; she could never win Lancelot's heart again.

……

Inside the Camelot Royal Court.

Arthur sat up, feeling unbearable soreness all over his body.

"What...what's going on?" She shook her dizzy head.

"Your Majesty, you...you're awake." His wife's voice came from the side.

Looking to the side, Guinevere was already dressed and standing by the bed, looking at her.

But perhaps it was the lighting, but why did Arthur see the same grace and affection in Guinevere's eyes, replaced instead by... indifference?

No, no, he must be still half asleep. Arthur thought to himself.

She got out of bed, put on her armor, and forced a smile at Guinevere, as always.

Good morning, Your Majesty.

“…Hmm.” Guinevere hid from Arthur’s sight, her face grim.

Arthur tried to recall his memories of last night to find the reason for his distress, but he couldn't remember anything. He only vaguely remembered that his sister had brought him food, and after that, he knew nothing more.

Arthur, dressed in his clothes and armor, smiled at Guinevere and said, "Your Majesty, I still have the Council. Take care of yourself."

After Arthur left the room, Guinevere looked at the door and silently shed tears.

My king, you are so outstanding, so perfect.

But why would someone as perfect as you betray me?

Chapter Seventy-Three: War Is Imminent

Arthur sat at the head of the round table, his face calm, deep in thought.

Something must have happened last night.

But why doesn't Guinevere want to tell me?

Lancelot's expression was even more somber than Birxer's.

He made his request to Arthur: "Your Majesty, I hope you will remove me from my position as a diplomatic official between the Kingdom of Britain and the Kingdom of Fisher."

Arthur snapped out of his reverie and considered Lancelot's request: "May I ask why, Lord Lancelot?"

Lancelot sighed. "Forgive me for keeping this a secret, Your Majesty." With that, he lowered his head.

"Is that so..." Arthur let out a long sigh. Why did she feel even more tired and uncomfortable after the Round Table was established?

She pinched the bridge of her nose and placed her hands on the table: "Then, knights present, please give your opinions on this proposal."

During times when there was no war, Anno spent most of his time in Camelot assisting the king with government affairs. After some thought, he decided to support his son: "I support Lancelot's proposal."

As Arthur's second-in-command, Agravan did not want to get too involved in the personal affairs of the knights: "I will not express my opinion and I abstain."

Gawain, a close friend who fought alongside Lancelot in the inhuman realm, supported Lancelot: "I agree."

Bedivere emphasized etiquette: "Diplomats from other countries should not be abruptly replaced, and this is objected to."

After the knights had all expressed their opinions, excluding Lanmarok and Bose who were not present, there were a total of four votes in favor, two votes against, and one abstention.

Lancelot breathed a sigh of relief.

"Then, let the council decide to remove Lancelot and Fisher Kingdom diplomats from their posts, and discuss who will succeed them," Arthur cleared his throat, raising the most important issue of the day.

"Now, my lords, the Knights of the Round Table have been established for seven days. It is time to discuss the most important purpose of the establishment of the Knights."

Upon hearing this, all the Knights of the Round Table sat up straight, even the irritable Lancelot.

The most important and ultimate goal of the Knights of the Round Table was to wage war.

War is fought for more resources, more land, and more people.

As the most senior and prestigious knight, Anno pointed to the simplified map and offered his opinion: "We can take a ship from here to the Isle of Man, and then land in Ireland from this bay."

"The Isle of Man can also be used as a transit point for supplies."

Arthur nodded: "I will negotiate with the King of the Kingdom of Marne."

The discussion about the war went on for a long time, and the meeting finally adjourned before lunch.

Back at their lodgings, Anno asked Lancelot, "What happened, Lancelot?"

“Father…” Lancelot found it difficult to speak. As a member of the Round Table, he had been so careless as to be drugged by a princess from another country and even fathered a child out of wedlock. This was truly…

Anno could tell that Lancelot was in a bad mood: "Try to calm yourself down first. You can come to me anytime if you want to talk."

"I understand, Father..." Lancelot walked out of the house in a daze.
