The Wind and the Wings of Hogwarts

Her voice became excited as she spoke.
"I cannot tolerate it! I cannot accept it! That is not the life of Medea Slytherin!"
She moved even closer to Ms. Gray.
"Now is the time for my rebirth!"
"Are you going to deny everything?"
Ms. Gray asked her.
"Your husband, your children, everything you experienced in the decades of your life."
"Yes, I deny it!"
Medea answered without hesitation.
"Husband? Child?"
She scoffed.
"That was just something I got after I compromised."
Medea reached out as if to touch Lady Grey, but her hand passed right through her translucent body.
"Do you know, Helena?"
She spoke almost with a sigh, her once clear and melodious voice now sounding aged.
"The only thing I'm grateful for in my old age is the oath I made with Ravenclaw when I was young, which brought me back here in the end."
Ms. Gray did not speak.
Medea continued in her aged voice, "Originally, the existence of the oath was just a faint hope; its greatest purpose was to prevent me from embracing death in despair... but I never expected..."
At this point, her voice suddenly regained its youthful quality.
"Perhaps it's Merlin's blessing?"
She said it with a hint of pride.
"Although I waited for a thousand years, the harsh conditions of the oath were actually met. I have truly awakened!"
Scott listened to her changing voice and thought the woman was quite neurotic.
"I will accept this gift of fate!"
Medea said it was only natural.
"Next, I will become the perfect Medea Slytherin and begin a new life."
Lady Grey looked at Medea, remained silent for a long while, and then said, "Let the challenge to break the oath begin, Medea. According to the conditions of the oath, you cannot refuse the challenge."
"..."
Medea seemed genuinely taken aback by her sudden directness.
But she quickly came to her senses and looked again at Scott, who had been standing quietly to the side.
"Are you really going to take on this challenge, Scott?" she asked with a smile. "You know, I get to decide what the challenge entails."
Now that he's already here, Scott won't hesitate any longer.
In response to Medea's question, he nodded readily, "Yes, I want to take on the challenge."
"What a pity, you are such a talented child."
Medea said, seemingly with regret.
Scott remained steadfast.
He knew Medea was putting psychological pressure on him.
But he still believed in his ability to survive; at worst, he could simply give up the challenge when all else failed.
Anyway, there's no penalty for failing the challenge.
Moreover, a full-time professor who possesses most of Ravenclaw's knowledge is extremely rare, and even he, who is usually cautious, couldn't help but take a gamble.
"In a way, this was Ravenclaw's mistake."
Medea continued speaking.
"The conditions of the oath were the result of our bargaining. In order to make the conditions for my awakening more stringent, she agreed to my additional conditions."
Scott understood what she meant. "The additional condition is that only current students of Hogwarts can renounce their vows?"
"Yes."
Medea let out a clear, crisp laugh.
"To be honest, even I didn't expect that Ravenclaw's conditions for awakening would be met. This additional condition was originally just something I did to vent my anger... I never thought it would actually come in handy now..."
"Alright, Medea."
Lady Grey interrupted Medea.
"Let's begin. Tell me what kind of challenge you've come up with."
Medea glanced at her and said sarcastically, "Are you so eager to send Ravenclaw students into danger, Helena?"
Ms. Gray's face turned very pale.
"Please begin."
Scott said, taking two steps forward.
"very good."
Medea turned her head and gave him a half-smile.
"Since you're all so eager, I'll tell you what challenges I've come up with."
She curled her red lips and said coldly.
“I know there’s a group of evil eight-eyed spiders in the Forbidden Forest, and you must wipe them out completely without anyone’s help.”
“The magical creatures in the Forbidden Forest are the property of the school.” Scott looked at Ms. Gray with some difficulty.
He remembered that the venom of the eight-eyed spider was very valuable.
Otherwise, why would the school allow them to breed in the forbidden forest?
Scott didn't believe the school was unaware of the situation in the Forbidden Forest.
Ms. Gray nodded. "I will explain it to the school."
Scott was relieved.
He was quite confident in eliminating the eight-eyed spider.
He turned to Medea and said, "I accept this challenge."
"Come here, child."
Medea smiled and extended her right hand.
"Hold my hand, and a magical contract will take my place in overseeing this challenge."
Scott nodded, stepped forward, and reached out to grasp that flawless white hand.
The cold, hard texture he felt told him that it was indeed porcelain.
"Then, I will explain the contents of the contract."
Medea spoke, and a red light enveloped their clasped hands.
"Please speak."
Scott cautiously refrained from answering with anything like "okay" or "success".
He was afraid of being tricked by her and signing a contract he didn't know about without his knowledge.
"Humph."
Medea gave a soft hum.
"Both parties to the contract..."
"and many more!"
"do not want!"
Two loud shouts were followed by a series of footsteps coming from the corridor outside the hall.

Scott turned around and saw Milton rushing in, his face full of fear.
Roger, Eddie, and the twins followed closely behind him.
"Scott, no!"
Milton ran over quickly and pulled Scott and Medea's clasped hands back.
The red light representing the contract then went out.
"Why are you here?"
Scott was having a headache.
“We found it!” Fred raised his hand, looking somewhat excited. “You didn’t go to your Magical Creatures Protection class, so we used…”
He winked at Scott.
“…first we couldn’t find you, and then your name suddenly appeared again,” George added.
Fred continued, "You didn't wait for me just now, so George and I couldn't get in here, and we went to find Roger."
“You shouldn’t have kept this from us, Scott,” Roger said, arms crossed, somewhat displeased.
“Yes,” Eddie said, “Milton was almost in tears!”
“You shouldn’t have come here to take this risk, Scott.”
Milton said, his eyes red.
