At this point, Scott even felt regret.
It was already late September, and the Scottish Highlands, where Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was located, had a cool climate. There seemed to be absolutely no need for him to soak in the cold lake at night to eavesdrop on such an old conspiracy.
Thinking of this, Scott, who hadn't felt anything before, suddenly felt a chill run down his spine. He had been at the bottom of the lake for a very long time.
He glanced at the two little witches inside the glass window again, then turned and swam a little further away, taking out his wand from his pocket.
"Ascendio" (meaning "raised high together").
Scott cast a spell on himself, and his body immediately rose vertically towards the lake at an extremely high speed.
When he emerged from the water, the small boat that had been transformed from a leather shoe was still drifting on the lake.
He shook his wet hair, wiped his face with his hand, swam to the side of the small boat, climbed on, and rowed the boat to the shore in one breath.
After getting ashore, Scott first restored his shoes to their original state, and then spent some time using a heat spell to dry his clothes and hair.
Finally, he put on his shoes and used the Disillusionment Charm on himself again. Once his body blended into the night, he walked toward Ravenclaw Tower.
Scott felt that the two pure-blood witches should be grateful for the protection of Hogwarts Castle.
Hearing so many "lowly mudbloods" through just a window, if he hadn't been unable to break through the magic castle's defenses, he would have made those two girls experience a night they would never forget.
However, there's no rush to teach them a lesson in one night.
Scott walked briskly in the moonlight, eagerly anticipating tomorrow, just like the two pure-blood witches.
Bypassing the Weasley twins and Filch's "joyful" hide-and-seek scene, Scott successfully returned to Ravenclaw Tower.
When he returned to his dorm room, his three roommates were already asleep.
Scott quietly took off his robe, found a bottle of stimulant for colds and gulped it down, then grabbed his pajamas and rushed into the bathroom before steam could rise from his ears.
As the hot water from the showerhead poured over him, steam began to billow from Scott's ears.
After taking a hot shower and changing into dry pajamas, Scott immediately felt much better.
The side effects of stimulants usually last for several hours, so Scott drifted off to sleep while steaming.
The morning at Ravenclaw College descended into chaos as the new day began.
A first-year female student was only trying to wake her roommate, Caitlin Roll, but was greatly frightened after pulling back the bed curtains.
Then, the first-year girl's incredibly piercing scream completely alarmed everyone in Ravenclaw.
When Ravenclaw fifth-year prefect Eva Taylor used a levitation charm to levitate Caitlin Roll out of her dorm room, everyone in the common room witnessed her terrible state.
"Oh! Merlin!"
"Oh my god!"
Exclamations of surprise rose and fell.
"Excuse me, everyone!" Penelope, the sixth-grade prefect, came over too. "We need to take poor Miss Roll to the school infirmary!"
Scott was standing at the top of the stairs leading from the common room to the dormitory, looking down at the chaotic scene.
Floating in the air, Caitlin Raoul was breathing weakly. All her exposed skin was covered with dense rashes and countless blood spots.
Her appearance was so terrifying that other students dared not approach her, and even the two female prefects who had to take her to the school hospital wished they could stay as far away as possible.
Chapter 026 Using the Same Trick Again, Destroying Evidence
After Caitlin Roll was taken away, the students who had been watching returned to their dormitories.
"What on earth happened?" Eddie was clearly excited. "Do you think Raoul's roommate cursed her while she was asleep? Or maybe she put poison in her water glass?"
Roger, who was walking ahead, turned around and glared at him. "Don't make wild guesses, Eddie! Such nonsense will damage Ravenclaw's reputation!"
Eddie immediately shrank back.
“Poor Raoul, I really hope she’ll be alright soon.” Milton sighed, his face pale.
“Don’t worry, Mrs. Pomfrey will heal her soon,” Scott casually reassured her.
Of course, only he knew that was impossible.
Afterwards, the roommates who had been woken up by the screams went to the washroom, while Scott, who had already finished washing up, went back to the dorm to get a few books and then went downstairs to the common room.
Good morning, Scott.
Luna's voice remained elusive.
She was standing in front of a window, looking through the glass at the Black Lake in the distance.
As Scott walked past her, she turned around and greeted him.
“Good morning, Luna,” Scott smiled at her.
Luna stared at Scott with her large silver eyes. "You seem to be in a good mood today."
Scott stopped, looked at her inquisitively, and asked curiously, "Can you see my emotions?"
"What?" Luna tilted her head.
Seeing her confused expression, Scott shook his head again. "It's okay, I'm going now, Luna, goodbye."
"Goodbye." Luna waved.
Scott walked out of the common room, jogged down the spiral staircase, and after leaving Ravenclaw Tower, he walked through the corridor and climbed up to the second floor of the castle.
The Hogwarts Hospital is located on the side wing of this floor.
Instead of trying to get close to the school hospital, Scott walked through several corridors, slipped a small object into a crack in the brickwork of one corridor wall, then turned into another corridor and pushed open the door to an abandoned classroom at the end.
Because the process of being taken to the school hospital was quite noisy, Scott believed that news of Caitlin Roll's strange illness had spread throughout Hogwarts.
He thought that if Jasmine Travers and Morgan Ever heard the news, they would definitely choose to go to the school hospital.
And the corridor on the side of this classroom was the only way for them to get from the Slytherin common room to the school hospital.
Scott closed the classroom door, turned around, walked to the window, and opened it.
He then took out a piece of ebony wood from the morphing lizard skin pouch at his waist and used the same technique again to perform a compound transformation.
This time, however, he did not choose a bat, but instead transformed the ebony into a sparrow.
Sparrows flew out of the open window and then hopped and skipped on the windowsill of a window on the outside of the castle that offered a view of the side corridor of the classroom.
Scott looked away and took two small glass bottles out of his bag again.
After turning the two needles into Aedes aegypti mosquitoes again, Scott let the two mosquitoes stay in the glass bottle temporarily.
After waiting for twenty minutes, Scott's hearing, which was connected to that of a sparrow, heard footsteps coming from the side corridor.
He immediately pointed his wand at himself and quietly chanted a spell to cast a psychic spell.
Soon, aided by the spell, he sensed the magic in the side corridor. Unfortunately, it wasn't Jasmine Travers and Morgan Avery.
Scott sighed silently. If it were anywhere else, he wouldn't have had to go through all this trouble.
As a magical castle that has stood for thousands of years, Hogwarts contains a vast and complex amount of magic, which would seriously interfere with Scott's perception of magic.
In order not to expose himself, he had no choice but to use this troublesome and clumsy method.
Ten minutes later, he heard footsteps again.
"Super perception".
Scott cast the Sense8 spell on himself again, then slowly curled the corners of his lips into a smile.
The target has been identified.
He waved his wand, and two mosquitoes immediately flew out of the glass bottle and out through the gap under the classroom door.
Scott stood still.
In his perception, two tiny mosquitoes crossed a corridor, chasing after Jasmine Travers and Morgan Avery.
As it approached the two girls, the mosquitoes slowed their flight and reduced their buzzing.
Finally, the two mosquitoes separated and landed on the ankles of the two girls, giving them a gentle bite.
The reason for choosing the ankle is that it is the least convenient place to pat – the target would have to bend over to pat it.
So, as the two girls bent over in slight pain, the two mosquitoes had already flown to the wall and disappeared into the cracks between the bricks.
Immediately afterwards, the small mechanism that Scott had placed in the crack of the bricks was knocked open by mosquitoes, and several real vampire midges flew out.
At this distance, neither Scott himself nor the sparrow perched outside the window could hear the two girls' conversation.
He only sensed that they had angrily cast several spells on the vampire midges before storming off.
Scott stood in the abandoned classroom, waiting for the two mosquitoes to fly back and turn into needles, falling into the glass bottle.
"Disappeared without a trace."
Scott waved his wand, once again satisfied with the Vanishing Charm, the perfect tool for destroying evidence.
Then, he used the same method to deal with the sparrow and the small mechanism in the cracks of the corridor wall bricks.
After his morning classes, Scott had lunch with his roommates.
After lunch, they returned to Ravenclaw Tower only to find students blocking the entrance to the common room.
“What happened?” Scott asked a couple of classmates next to him.
“Professor Flitwick and Mrs. Pomfrey are inspecting Miss Roll’s bedroom,” Dylan Kinwell said.
His girlfriend, Kayla White, said, "Perhaps we should also check out our common lounge!"
The girl's face was pale, and she was clearly frightened.
“It’s horrible. Did you see what Caitlin looked like this morning?”
She held Dylan's hand tightly, as if trying to draw strength from it.
“I’ve heard that Madam Pomfrey has determined it to be a strange illness she’s never seen before, not caused by a curse or potion. Because there’s no specific potion for this illness, she can only temporarily control Caitlin’s condition. She’s trying to find the cause of Caitlin’s illness in her bedroom.”
“Don’t worry, Kayla,” Dylan whispered to comfort her. “The professors will definitely find a way.”
But Kayla remained worried, "We don't know if this terrible disease is contagious."
Soon, Professor Flitwick and Mrs. Pomfrey emerged from the common room.
“No! We haven’t found anything that could make him sick!” Mrs. Pomfrey looked dejected. “I’m sorry, Felius, perhaps we should send the child to St. Mungo as soon as possible.”
