The Wind and the Wings of Hogwarts

"Reparo!"
The light of the curse enveloped the old grandfather clock.
In an instant, it was as if time had reversed, and this dilapidated machine gradually transformed into its best state.
Soon, an almost brand-new grandfather clock appeared before Scott's eyes.
Click, click.
The sound rang out, and the second hand on the clock began to move.
“Oh! Perfect, Scott!” Professor Flitwick exclaimed happily. “You’ve not only fixed its appearance, but you’ve also made it work again!”
“This is all thanks to your guidance, Professor.” Scott gave Professor Flitwick a wizard’s salute.
Professor Flitwick was clearly delighted to hear him say that.
His mustache twitched. "Oh, you're welcome, Scott. Your excellence is beyond question."
Over the next few days, Scott successfully completed the written tests on Transfiguration, Potions, Astronomy, Herbalism, History of Magic, Ancient Runes, Divination, and Defense Against the Dark Arts.
Friday finally arrived.
All the school's students' wizard duels were scheduled for this day.
After breakfast that day, the students from the four houses, led by their respective heads of household, arrived at the Quidditch pitch outside the castle.
"Is such a grand gesture necessary?"
"Oh, who remembers? This was just part of the Defense Against the Dark Arts exam!"
"Maybe the school will start offering a dueling course next school year?"
"I've decided to start hating this subject from now on."
Sitting in his seat in the Ravenclaw stands, Scott listened to his classmates' complaints.
He hadn't expected the school to put on such a show; it was far more grand than the dueling club Lockhart had organized last semester.
Hey! Look!
Eddie, who was sitting next to him, suddenly pointed in the direction of the main stands and exclaimed.
Scott turned his head and saw Dumbledore leading a group of people up to the stands and taking their seats.
Eddie added, "Look at that fat guy next to Dumbledore, that's the Minister of Magic!"
"...That's really something."
Scott glanced around and saw that there were not only the Minister of Magic, but also other officials and students' parents.
Of course, most of them are patriarchs of pure-blood families.
“Oh…my dad’s here too.” Scott heard Milton’s slightly annoyed voice.
He squinted and carefully searched through the crowd.
Sure enough, Mr. Grevis was there, arm in arm with a witch who looked like a noblewoman.
Is that Mrs. Zabini?
Somewhat curious, Scott took a monocular telescope from his bag and looked in that direction again.
Through the telescope, Scott could see more clearly.
Compared to our last meeting at Platform 9¾, Mr. Grevis was a completely different person.
The last time Scott saw him, he was gloomy and depressed, but now he looked full of vigor and high spirits.
The woman holding his hand, Lady Zabini, truly lived up to her reputation as a renowned witch in the magical world; she appeared mature, voluptuous, and radiantly beautiful.
Having satisfied his curiosity, Scott quickly looked away and handed the monocular telescope to Milton.
Milton simply shook his head. "No need."
He took a deep breath.
"The important thing is the exam in front of us, isn't it?"
He seemed to be convincing himself.
"Nothing else matters."
Scott put away the monoculars and handed them to Eddie, who was standing nearby.
He didn't say anything, but silently patted Milton on the shoulder to express his support.
Chapter 215 What color is your bird?
"Everyone!"
In the main stands, Dumbledore stood up and began to speak in a voice that could be heard throughout the entire stadium.
The huge stadium suddenly fell silent.
"Today is a somewhat special day. In accordance with the guidance of the Wizard Examinations Administration of the Department of Education of the Ministry of Magic, we have added some new elements to the Hogwarts year-end exams."
Dumbledore's voice rang out slowly and deliberately.
"This is a change that Hogwarts has never seen in many years, and I think my students can think about what this means for themselves."
"Could it be that the addition of the dueling exam was proposed by the Department of Education of the Ministry of Magic?" Eddie asked, somewhat surprised.
"They're so nosy!"
"They're so idle, actually interfering with our end-of-year exams!"
"OWLs and NEWT are already under their control, isn't that enough?"
"They don't want us to have a perfect summer vacation."
Some students who were not good at wizard duels immediately complained.
Why do I feel like Dumbledore is trying to shift the blame?
A strange idea popped into Scott's head.
However, he quickly dismissed the idea.
Dumbledore is quite responsible; since he has already agreed, he is unlikely to shirk responsibility.
At this moment, Dumbledore's voice continued to ring out.
"This is a completely new endeavor, and our professors and students should actively adapt to this new change..."
Scott couldn't help but chuckle as he listened to him speak.
This was the first time he had ever heard Dumbledore speak in this manner.
When I was in school in my previous life, the principal's speeches followed a similar pattern.
Who would have thought that Dumbledore would learn it too?
Of course, Dumbledore still couldn't compare to the headmasters of his previous life.
Because he ended his speech very quickly.
Compared to the lengthy speeches of headmasters in his previous life, which often lasted for hours, Dumbledore only lasted about 10 minutes.
"We are fortunate to have invited some guests to watch this exam. Let's welcome them."
Dumbledore gave a rather casual introduction to the guests behind him.
After he finished speaking, he clapped his hands, without giving any further explanation of the guests' identities.
"Hehehehe...hehehehehe..."
Eddie, who was looking through binoculars, suddenly let out a lewd laugh.
"You definitely didn't notice!"
He exclaimed excitedly.
"Just now, when Dumbledore was talking about the guests, our Minister Fudge was adjusting his tie, preparing to stand up and speak, but Dumbledore didn't give him the chance at all! His suppressed expression was hilarious..."
At this point, he couldn't help but burst into laughter again.
"I could laugh at this joke for a whole year!" he said confidently.
After the applause, Dumbledore announced the start of the exam.
"Cough cough."
Professor McGonagall, sitting in the front row of the Gryffindor stands, pressed her wand against her throat and coughed twice to attract everyone's attention.
"The exam was judged by Professors Flitwick and Snape," she explained.
Soon, the two professors walked onto the field from the side stands.
“Starting from first grade,” Professor McGonagall added. “Now, all first-grade students, stand on the field!”
Soon, the first-year students from all four colleges came down from the stands and stood in four distinct groups in front of the two professors.
"Next is random grouping," Professor McGonagall directed.
"Flocks of birds".
Professor Flitwick waved his wand, and a flock of colorful birds flew out of it, circling and fluttering above the students' heads.
"Students, grab any bird at random. The students who grab birds of the same color will be your opponents in the duel."
Upon hearing Professor McGonagall's command, the first-year students all reached out and grabbed at the sky.
The scene was quite chaotic at one point.
But the professors didn't try to stop them; they just watched as the students struggled to catch the birds and searched for their opponents in the crowd.
"My bird is black, black!"
"My bird is red and white, who else is?"
"Haha, my bird is purple!"
With no one to supervise them, the first-grade students started shouting and yelling.
“Oh… this conversation sounds awful, doesn’t it?” Eddie chuckled incessantly.
