The Wind and the Wings of Hogwarts

“No.” Scott shook his head.
"So how did you know?" Hermione asked nervously.
Scott smiled. "Ravenclaws have always had students who use this thing, and they are observant; they can always spot something unusual."
Time converter.
This is a semi-public secret in Ravenclaw.
Hermione nodded hesitantly.
Scott was about to say goodbye when she asked, puzzled, "Why don't you have any?"
Scott shrugged. "I only took three electives."
“What?” Hermione looked at him in surprise, as if he were a traitor. “I thought you…”
She thought for a moment and came up with a better answer: "I thought you would care more about grades."
“You’re wrong. I don’t care much about exam scores,” Scott said. “I only care about whether I’ve learned anything useful.”
“I think all knowledge is useful!” Hermione looked at Scott disapprovingly. “That’s the point of schools offering these courses.”
“Maybe,” Scott said casually. “No knowledge in the world is useless, but we are not gods. No matter how hard we try, we cannot be omniscient or omnipotent. So we can only choose to learn the parts that are useful to us.”
Hermione looked bewildered. "But..."
"How you choose, or whether you choose both, is entirely up to you. Your choice will determine your future."
Scott smiled again.
"Of course, you can select all the courses first, and then make your choices among them. Elective courses are allowed to be dropped midway."
After saying that, he waved his hand and stepped directly into the spiral staircase leading downstairs.
Chapter 285 Medea's Sudden Contact
Scott spent September in a state of extreme busyness.
After a month of teaching, the two new professors at Hogwarts ended up having completely polarized opinions among the students.
Professor Black's Defense Against the Dark Arts class was popular with most students, except for the Slytherins.
Headmaster Snape of Slytherin House consistently expressed his hatred for Black through his actions. In addition, Black was exceptionally strict with the Slytherins during class, deducting many points from them, which led to the Slytherins also disliking Black.
According to Eddie, some Slytherin students privately referred to Black as a pure-blood traitor.
This is consistent with the Weasley family's reputation among other pure-blood families.
However, Professor Black clearly didn't care about the Slytherins' opinions of him.
Compared to Professor Black's relatively smooth teaching career, Professor Hagrid, another new professor at Hogwarts, had a much worse reputation among the students.
As is well known, Hagrid's first lesson was marred by an accident when he brought a ferocious hippogriff to the third-year classroom, one of which injured young Malfoy.
This teaching incident caused great trouble for Haiger's teaching career.
Malfoy was discharged from the school hospital several days after the accident.
His right arm was wrapped in bandages and slung around his neck with a strap, and he kept parading around the school.
He also repeatedly clamored for revenge against Hagrid and that hippogriff.
Thanks to his propaganda, everyone now knows that his father, Old Malfoy, is working hard to get Hagrid fired and to put the hippogriff to death.
In short, Hagrid seemed to be frightened after that, and he went to another extreme in his teaching arrangements.
He completely abandoned his love for sharp teeth and claws, only allowing students to come into contact with some very safe creatures.
Some magical creatures are classified as Level X (boring) or XX (harmless/tamable), with a maximum of XXX (a capable wizard can handle).
In the Magical Creatures Protection class following that incident, he had third-grade students raise Flobber Caterpillars (X), fourth-grade students collect Hocrab (X) to feed the goblins (XX), and fifth-grade students help hatch the fairy's (XX) eggs...
In short, Hagrid received unanimous negative reviews from his students for his extremely boring lectures.
Even Harry, who considered Hagrid a good friend, couldn't say anything good about Hagrid in this regard.
In early October, Medea contacted Scott through the small fireplace, something she hadn't done in a long time.
It was Saturday evening, October 2nd. Scott had just left the Room of Requirement and was on his way back to the Ravenclaw Tower.
He suddenly felt the deformed lizard skin bag hanging at his waist begin to vibrate violently, as if something was trying to break free from the bag's restraints and rush out on its own.
He immediately understood what was going on and had to quickly walk into the storage room next to the corridor.
As he waved his wand to cast anti-disturbance and anti-eavesdropping spells, the small fireplace that had been inside the cardboard box flew out of the self-opening leather bag and landed on the ground.
Green flames had already begun to burn in the fireplace.
After a while, Medea's voice came from the green flames.
“Good evening, Scott.” Her tone was unhurried. “I’ve given you three minutes to react, which should be enough time for you to find a place where you won’t be disturbed.”
Scott said in a helpless tone, "Good evening, Medea. I must say you really overestimate me. What if I were in some professor's office right now?"
“You can say you’re going to the restroom,” Medea said casually.
"Ok."
Scott didn't want to dwell on the matter; he was more concerned about Medea's purpose in contacting him.
"Is there something you need from me?" he asked directly.
Medea chuckled. "I must say, you've really impressed me, Scott. You killed a thief, a dark wizard, and a young dueling champion, haven't you?"
"Sorry? Oh, that's a bit like a fantasy. You know, I spent the whole summer vacation abroad and didn't participate in any exciting adventure activities."
Scott promptly feigned ignorance, his tone one of utter surprise.
"I don't know why you say that, I can only say that you have overestimated me again."
Medea laughed a few more times. "Of course, it doesn't matter if you don't admit it, child, after all, I don't have any evidence to accuse you."
“You’re making up a story for me,” Scott said, somewhat displeased.
"In short, Burke's death has made it more difficult for me to find my father's pendant," Medea said to herself. "I've found out that when Melop was desperate for money, he sold that precious locket to Burke at a low price."
At this point, her voice turned cold and mocking, "What a silly child, isn't he?"
Scott said calmly, "I'm sorry, ma'am, I don't know who Merope is. Of course, it would be foolish to sell Mr. Slytherin's precious magical artifacts at a low price."
“You don’t know, of course you don’t know.” Medea didn’t doubt Scott on this point. “Melop Gaunt, she’s Voldemort’s mother, a silly child who fell in love with a Muggle but only knew how to use love potions.”
"So, Voldemort, who championed the supremacy of purebloods, was himself a half-blood?" Scott asked, deliberately using an astonished tone.
Medea answered affirmatively, her tone full of disdain, "Yes, that child is mixed-race, and because he was born under the influence of an aphrodisiac, his mind is somewhat abnormal."
Scott couldn't help but ask, "It sounds like you've met him."
Medea continued with an affirmative answer, "Yes, I found him in the Albanian forest, a broken soul."
“So,” Scott asked expectantly, “he now?”
“He has fled,” Medea said. “Clearly, he was unwilling to sacrifice his own soul for his ancestors and fled as quickly as possible.”
It's normal that he's unwilling! Who would be willing?
Scott suppressed the urge to complain.
“It’s alright, he already split his soul. I can find those Horcruxes first.” Medea laughed again. “There are seven in total, right? You calculated it using arithmetic divination.”
Scott's eyes widened in shock. "How did you know?"
He was calculating the Horcruxes in the principal's office!
“Because I want to know,” Medea said, in a matter-of-fact tone.
But Scott had calmed down by then and immediately thought of a possibility.
"Is it a portrait?" he asked Medea. "Did one of the portraits of the past principals travel through his other portraits and then tell you this news?"
For some reason, Scott's first suspect was Phineas Nigellus Black, the most unpopular headmaster in Hogwarts history.
Chapter 286 Go for it, Dark Lord!
“Let’s make a deal, Scott.”
While Scott was still wondering who had betrayed him, Medea spoke up directly.
"You help me find the whereabouts of Tom's Horcrux, and I will open the secret room you once visited for you."
Upon hearing Medea's words, Scott was like a fish that had smelled a sweet bait.
He took a deep breath and slowly exhaled.
He asked Medea, "Then can you tell me? How many Horcruxes have you obtained?"
Two items.
Medea made no attempt to hide anything and even revealed the details.
“A ring, I found it in the Gaunt family’s old house. And a snake named Nagini, poor girl, Tom abandoned her and ran away.”
Medea spoke with a sense of satisfaction.
"..."
Scott secretly gasped.
It seems that Medea sacrificed two more fragments of Voldemort's soul in exchange for her own resurrection.
and……
If he remembered correctly, the ring was set with the Resurrection Stone, also known as the "Deathly Hallows".
In the original story, Dumbledore was severely injured by Voldemort's curse when he obtained the ring, leaving him with only one year to live.
But from Medea's nonchalant tone, Scott guessed that she didn't seem to have been hurt.
Is this what they mean by specialization?
Only magic can defeat magic, and dark wizards are better at dealing with dark wizards?
While Scott was thinking, he said to Medea, "If my calculations are correct, Voldemort has a total of seven Horcruxes. Combining your findings, we now know of four."
