After some delay on the road, Scott finally arrived at his doorstep.

After a year of neglect, the garden in the yard has become almost abandoned.

It was winter, and all sorts of plants were growing haphazardly, creating a desolate scene.

Scott crossed the yard and opened the front door of the house.

The furniture inside was covered with white cloth, and a thick layer of dust had settled on the floor.

Rimbaud, who had been silent until now, finally couldn't hold back any longer. "Oh, is this your house? It's big, but it doesn't look very nice."

Scott had no choice but to roll up his sleeves and start cleaning.

With the presence of magic, cleaning the house was not difficult for him, and before long, the entire house was restored to its original appearance.

After having dinner out, Scott lifted the spell that blocked his name.

The next morning, when Scott opened the front door, he found the house piled high with gifts, and several owls carrying gifts were swooping down from the sky.

Scott smiled and carried the gifts into his room.

As in previous years, the most common gift he received was books, and many of them were duplicates.

Even the gifts his professors gave him were notes or books.

“If you keep going like this, you can open a bookstore,” Rimbaud said.

Scott shrugged helplessly and placed the books on the bookshelf in categories.

Next, he began to look at the remaining gifts, all of which were from his friends.

Eddie gave him an expensive fountain pen, Roger gave him several game discs, and Milton gave him a book of world-famous paintings.

Harry gave him a bag of candy as usual, and of course, Scott gave him candy too.

Ron still sent a greeting card, while Hermione sent a postcard.

Luna's gift was in a large box, which Scott opened to find an animal horn.

"The horn of the Curved-Horned Snoring Beast?"

Scott glanced at Luna's note, then at the corner of the box.

"This is clearly the horn of a venomous horn beast." He couldn't help but twitch his lips.

This is a dangerous thing.

The venomous horn can pierce anything, from skin to metal, and contains a deadly liquid that will cause any object injected with it to explode.

"But it's still a pretty good weapon, isn't it?" Scott smiled helplessly, closed the box, and put it into his morphing lizard skin bag.

"What's this?" He then looked at a wooden box next to him.

It is a black wooden box with some green leaf patterns on it.

He took the letter off the wooden box and opened it.

"Sawana?"

Scott suddenly remembered the arithmetic reading he had done for Savannah.

That girl is probably undergoing a druid's trial.

Savannah didn't write any of that in her letter; she simply wished him a Merry Christmas.

Scott put down the letter and reached out to open the wooden box.

Inside the wooden box lay a necklace, made of animal hide rope strung with wooden beads, animal teeth, and feathers, very similar to the necklace that Savannah had once taken out, which belonged to her brother.

He reached out and picked up the necklace, but found nothing special. So he tentatively channeled some magic into it.

But he immediately regretted it.

The dizzying scene before him told him that he had activated a door key.

Scott couldn't help but swear.

Great!

However, if he hadn't been able to confirm that the letter was indeed written by Savannah, he wouldn't have been so careless.

Not long after, Scott's space travel journey came to an end.

Caught completely off guard, he failed to land safely and crashed hard to the ground.

"What's going on!" Rimbaud shouted.

It came along too.

At the last second, it grabbed the necklace from Scott's hand with its paw and was brought over along with the door key.

“I don’t know either,” Scott said.

It was pitch black all around, with no light source whatsoever.

The smooth stone floor beneath him and the gaps between the slabs made Scott realize that the place he was in was man-made.

He stood up quickly and pulled out his wand as fast as he could.

Faced with this unexpected situation, Scott did not panic too much. He had a special key that allowed him to leave the place at any time, which gave him the confidence to remain calm.

Rimbaud flew onto his shoulder. "Let's get out of here quickly!"

"No need to rush."

As usual, Scott activated [Severed Arm Bone] and used the Illumination Charm to illuminate the space around him.

He looked around and found that it was an almost completely sealed stone chamber, with smooth stone slabs on all sides, and nothing else.

Undeterred, Scott walked around the wall and found that all the stone slabs were smooth, without any writing or patterns.

Scott carefully put away the necklace that had brought him there, then raised his hand to look at the silver snake necklace wrapped around his left wrist, without rushing to leave.

He could sense that there was air circulating in this seemingly sealed stone chamber.

After activating his magic perception, Scott quickly noticed something amiss: a faint magical fluctuation was emanating from a wall somewhere.

He followed his senses to the wall and reached out to touch the smooth stone slab.

"What's wrong?" Rimbaud asked.

"Magic fluctuations".

At this moment, Scott's perception became even clearer.

The magical fluctuations within the walls were rather peculiar.

"This magical fluctuation does not originate from the wizard, nor from magical items."

Then he pressed his wand against his head.

"Super perception".

With his senses enhanced by the spell, Scott focused once again on sensing the magical fluctuations within the wall.

"Not a magical creature, it seems to be a plant?" he murmured.

He then began to back away, until he reached another wall. After waving his wand to turn off the light, he immediately cast another spell.

"The house collapsed and the ground subsided!"

"Armor protects you!"

The light of the curse pierced the darkness, striking the opposite wall and causing a violent explosion.

The stone slabs on the wall were blasted open, and the flying debris was blocked by the armored spell in front of Scott.

He used the Illumination Charm again to illuminate the darkness.

Chapter 329 The Strange Oak Forest

The light on Scott's wand flared up again, and he saw the hole blasted out of the opposite wall by a spell.

Rimbaud asked, "Can we get out of there now?"

"Who knows?"

Scott strolled forward and stood at the cave entrance, wand in hand.

Ahead lay what appeared to be a deep, dark passage, within which countless thick, twisted tree roots were tangled and intertwined.

The magical fluctuations he had sensed earlier originated from these tree roots.

Scott did not choose to rush into the passage, but instead waved his wand again.

"Flocks of birds".

The unpleasant cawing continued, and a flock of black crows emerged from the tip of his wand and scattered in all directions.

“Let them go and scout ahead,” Scott said to Rimbaud.

Rimbaud immediately chirped a few times.

Upon hearing Rimbaud's voice, the flock of crows immediately fell silent and flew toward the passage ahead.

Scott took a few steps back, used a teleportation spell to pile up the blasted stones on the wall, and finally cast a transformation spell.

Under the glow of the Transfiguration Charm, the stones quickly pieced together to form the shape of a giant wolf. The stone wolf stood up and shook itself, and its stone-assembled body soon transformed into real flesh and fur.

The giant gray wolf received Scott's order and walked unhurriedly into the root-filled passage.

After the gray wolf had walked some distance, Scott took out his pocket watch, checked the time, and followed behind it.

"That gift was from the girl who can turn into a wolf?" Rimbaud's voice echoed in the silent corridor. "Why would she do that?"

“Do you think I would know?” Scott said irritably.

Because the tree roots were exceptionally thick, the path inside the passage was difficult to walk on, and he had to climb up and down using both his hands and feet.

“I thought you would have some ideas,” Rimbaud said.

Scott replied, "Unfortunately, I don't."

"Then why don't you just leave?" Rimbaud asked again.

“Since safety is guaranteed, let’s wait and see,” Scott said. “Let’s see who specifically sent me here and what they want.”
