"Oh, don't be afraid, it's a good boy, it won't hurt you."
Hagrid said something to the students, then turned to comfort the three-headed dog.
"Alright, Louie." He reached out and stroked the three heads of the three-headed dog a few times. "Big Hair, Little Hair, Three Hair, don't bark, you're scaring my students."
He took some more meat out of his pocket and fed it to them.
The three-headed dog was indeed very obedient in front of him, with all three heads lowering obediently for him to pet, and even making purring sounds.
"He... no, where did he keep it?" Roger still stared at the three-headed dog in disbelief. "Is this the one that guarded the Philosopher's Stone two years ago? I remember it bit Snape."
“That must be it. Hagrid must have hidden it in the Forbidden Forest,” Cedric said, standing next to the two.
“I sincerely hope Miss Grapland will return to the classroom soon,” Roger said. “And I also hope Hagrid doesn’t have too many little darlings.”
Cedric said softly, "I heard that the eight-eyed spiders in the Forbidden Forest were also kept by Hagrid. Fortunately, they have disappeared now."
Roger laughed and said, "Yes, a brave warrior wiped out all the eight-eyed spiders and brought peace to the Forbidden Forest."
He winked at Scott as he spoke.
Scott ignored his subtle actions.
Just then, Hagrid had already appeased his "little darling" Fulvi the Cerberus with food and toys, and he turned around to face the students again.
"Would any of you like to come up and get up close with Louie?" he asked with a broad smile, his thick beard jiggling merrily. "Perhaps you could try feeding him or playing with him."
Everyone watched as Louie's three heads took turns tearing apart its toy—a large wooden ball. With a series of snapping sounds, the enormous wooden ball was bitten into several pieces.
"Look how much fun it's having."
Hagrid glanced back and smiled with satisfaction, like a loving mother watching her child grow up.
He even wiped the corner of his eye.
“I raised it; it was just a little furry puppy back then.”
He sighed and then looked at the students.
"Oh, does anyone want to get up close to it?" he asked again. "Cerberus is a rare and magical creature. Come on, raise your hands."
As soon as he finished speaking, everyone present took a step back.
"Oh……"
Hagrid's movements and expressions became somewhat stiff.
"Is...nobody here?"
There really was no one there. Many students, especially girls, were shaking their heads rapidly, afraid that he would call their names.
"Is he joking?" Roger muttered. "That beast could swallow me whole."
“Uh…it seems you’re still a little scared,” Hagrid said awkwardly. “But I must say, Fluffy won’t hurt you; it listens to me very well…”
This was a fifth-year lesson, but none of the Harrys came to his rescue, so Hagrid became increasingly embarrassed.
Finally, he could only awkwardly bite the bullet and introduce some of the habits and characteristics of the Cerberus to everyone, thus hastily ending the lesson.
Chapter 351 Accident, Baby, Magic Mirror
Hagrid's solo lecture once again exposed his unusual aesthetic and safety standards when dealing with magical creatures, which made many people distrust his teaching.
On the way back to the castle after class, Roger said to Scott, "I hope Miss Grapland will be back soon. Otherwise, the accident that happened to Malfoy in the Magical Creatures class could very well happen again."
Even the usually amiable Cedric agreed with Roger, saying tactfully, "Professor Hagrid has no good grasp of his own and our different safety boundaries."
Scott nodded.
Undeniably, Hagrid is a good man, but he's just too thick-skinned.
Besides them, other students were also expressing their dissatisfaction.
"That's terrifying! What was Professor Hagrid thinking? How could anyone want to get close to Cerberus?"
"Maybe we'll see a fire dragon in the next class."
"Perhaps it's a troll, or a giant."
On his way back to the Great Hall, Scott discovered that most of the Gryffindor and Slytherin students who had been injured earlier had already been discharged from the hospital.
Fred and George were chatting and laughing with Lee Jordan at the Gryffindor table when they saw Scott, and immediately stood up and ran over.
"How's it going, Scott?"
The two men simultaneously pulled Scott aside and quietly asked him.
"Were those panoramic telescopes successfully retrieved?"
Their magical damage has been healed, and they are no longer the "Tree People" and "Blue Skin People".
"You've fully recovered?" Scott asked with a smile.
Upon hearing this, Fred and George immediately showed expressions of pain.
“Mrs. Pomfrey thought there were too many of us and it was too noisy,” Fred said. “So she specially asked Snape to provide us with some special medicine.”
George gagged. "That taste...drinking it is like seeing hell."
Fred then said, "Anyway, what about the panoramic telescope?"
“Didn’t you ask Eddie?” Scott asked.
He looked up and glanced around the Ravenclaw table, only to find that Eddie wasn't there.
“We didn’t see him,” Fred said.
“All the panoramic telescopes have been successfully recovered, just this afternoon,” Scott told the two. “I put them in your joke prop workshop, where Eddie is probably right now.”
He guessed that Eddie went straight there to read gossip after class and didn't even have time to eat.
“Let’s go too,” Fred said eagerly.
George nodded in agreement. "I'd love to see what happened too."
Scott told the two of them, "You two go ahead. I need to attend a Transfiguration Club event after dinner, and I'll meet up with you after that."
Fred turned and glanced at the long table in the hall, then said hesitantly, "I think we should have dinner first."
“You’re right,” George said in a heavy tone. “The medicine and nutritional meals from the school hospital these past few days have severely damaged my taste buds.”
The two of them patted Scott on the shoulder at the same time, then went straight to the Gryffindor table, sat down, picked up their knives and forks, and prepared to wait for the food to arrive.
Scott smiled, walked over to the Ravenclaw table, and sat down next to Roger and Milton.
The hot topic at the long table was still the afternoon's lesson on protecting magical creatures.
Although the fifth-graders who took the course were not quite used to today's lesson, the other students were full of curiosity about the rare three-headed dog, this magical creature from Greece.
Even Milton was the same.
“It’s great to have the opportunity to see this kind of animal,” he said. “Learning about different amazing creatures is part of what this course is supposed to teach.”
Roger shrugged. "Of course, you're right, if Hagrid hadn't tried to get us close to that behemoth. You know, Cerberus is on par with a dragon in terms of danger."
After dinner, Scott went to the classroom on the second floor of the castle to participate in the Transfiguration Club activities.
It was 19:30 p.m., and all the students had arrived at the classroom where the Transfiguration Club was located, but Professor McGonagall was nowhere to be seen.
The students in the club looked at each other, wondering if something had happened.
For Professor McGonagall, who is serious and rigid, being late is an extremely unthinkable thing, but this is exactly what happened.
Percy stood up and said, "I'll go check on Professor McGonagall's office."
Just then, a phantom-like, silver cat flew into the classroom and sat on the podium.
It's Professor McGonagall's Patronus Charm.
Professor McGonagall's voice came from the silvery, ethereal cat's mouth.
"I'm sorry, students, there has been an unexpected incident at the school. Dumbledore is currently unavailable and I need to handle it. This club activity is canceled. Of course, you can continue your studies and discussions on your own."
After saying that, the cat turned into strands of silver light and disappeared.
An unexpected event?
Scott recalled the battle between the centaurs and the unknown wizard in the Forbidden Forest last night.
I wonder if the professors have found any useful clues.
Scott stood up, intending to go through the secret passage to meet Eddie and the others.
Percy is trying to organize everyone to study and exchange ideas on their own, but some people, like Scott, have chosen to leave the classroom.
This made Percy's expression somewhat unpleasant.
Arriving at the secluded corridor on the third floor where the statue of the one-eyed hunchbacked witch was located, Scott used his magical senses to confirm that no one was around before quickly opening the passage to the secret room and slipping inside.
As Scott descended the slide, he quickly arrived at the bottom of the secret passage.
He lit the illumination spell and arrived at the gap where the workshop was located, pushing open the dilapidated wooden door.
In the brightly lit room, Eddie and the Weasley twins were each holding a panoramic telescope, watching with great interest. Hearing the door open, all three of them looked over in surprise.
"Time flies so fast?" Eddie looked at Scott.
He was probably confused by the images in the panoramic telescope and thought the Transfiguration Club had ended normally.
Scott explained the reason, closed the door, and sat down at the old desk.
Fred and George had already picked up the panoramic telescope and continued looking.
“I thought…” Eddie first looked surprised, then suddenly became excited, “Oh, right, Scott, I’ve made a major new discovery!”
"What new discovery?"
Scott looked at the several panoramic telescopes neatly arranged on the table, which Eddie had labeled with numbers.
Eddie said, "There are two people hiding in another house, that old mansion not far from the Gaunt House."
He waved the panoramic binoculars in his hand.
“This is camera number 7, which was placed near that mansion. I saw it through it.”
