Scott seemed thoughtful.

He didn't ask any more questions after that, but instead became completely absorbed in thinking.

Dumbledore then chatted with the twins about some happy things, and he was often amused by the two mischievous boys.

When Scott came to his senses and listened for a while, he discovered that George and Fred had unknowingly revealed all the pranks they had ever played.

The delightful afternoon tea time came to a quick end, at least for the twins.

Dumbledore never asked them for details about what had happened in the previous two days, and instead chatted with them in a very friendly and humorous manner.

Add to that delicious food and drinks, and what could be happier?

As they were leaving, Dumbledore said to Scott, “I don’t think I should just tell you the answer. Those gifted students don’t need to be taught; their own thinking is often more useful.”

Despite being praised as a genius, Scott didn't know whether he should be happy.

“But I can give you a hint,” Dumbledore said again.

Scott immediately looked at him with expectant eyes.

"Remember, magic is the power of belief."

"Dumbledore said mysteriously."

Scott was moved and stood up to bow to Dumbledore.

"Thank you for your guidance, Professor Dumbledore."

He said respectfully.

Dumbledore smiled happily.

Once Scott and his two companions had completely left the principal's office and returned to the third floor, George and Fred immediately linked arms and happily began to dance a crooked tap dance.

They even took turns singing off-key songs.

"Oh! We've become..."

"Having afternoon tea with Dumbledore..."

"The Weasley brothers..."

"We share food..."

"Chatting and laughing..."

"From now on..."

"Neither can Mom..."

"Feel free to criticize us..."

Seeing their smug expressions, Scott couldn't help but pour cold water on their enthusiasm.

He said slowly, "I remember you just told me about all the pranks you did at school."

The twins' singing and dancing came to an abrupt halt.

"Oh!"

"Oh!"

They stared at each other for a moment, then suddenly became extremely frustrated, and then angrily started blaming each other.

"It's all your fault!"

"It's your fault!"

You talked about it more!

"You said that first!"

Scott shook his head, waved to the two arguing men, and turned to leave.

"Scott!"

"Don't go!"

The two immediately caught up, each putting one hand on Scott's shoulders and loudly pretending to cry.

"Help us think of something! Dumbledore knows too much! We've lost our mystery with him!"

"If Dumbledore tells Professor McGonagall, we're doomed!"

Scott remained unmoved, and even felt a little amused.

"Looks like you guys need to completely revamp your pranks." He said encouragingly, "Come on, guys, I believe in you!"

Chapter 071 An Impromptu Dinner

At dinner time, when Scott and his roommates arrived at the auditorium, they found that it was a little different than usual.

The food on the long table was exceptionally plentiful, and all the school's faculty and staff were present, which was unprecedented.

"What's going on here?"

They overheard other students discussing it.

"Halloween has just passed, and there's another banquet already?"

"Whatever, maybe something good is going to happen?"

"Good news? You mean the Filch cat being killed by Potter?"

"You didn't know? That cat isn't dead at all!"

Seeing Eddie's "I'm the only one who's sober in a crowd" expression, Scott whispered to him, "Hey Scott, this is definitely a celebration of our victory."

Roger laughed and said, "I think if there's any praise later, it definitely won't include you, Eddie."

“I don’t care. Let Scott have those glamorous honors.” Eddie shrugged. “The most important rule in my line of work is to keep a low profile.”

Scott listened to his words and shook his head with amusement.

He really wanted to ask Eddie what he did for a living.

But as more and more students passed by, they stopped talking.

They walked over to the long table in Ravenclaw and sat down, greeting the people sitting nearby.

Scott overheard many Ravenclaw students still discussing what had happened before.

They were very interested in researching both the magic that petrified the cat and the magic that left indelible, glowing words on the wall.

"Another banquet, I wonder when I'll be able to leave," Milton said suddenly, sounding somewhat dazed.

Scott turned to look at him. "What's wrong?"

"Oh, I'm fine." Milton smiled absentmindedly again.

Scott could tell that his mind had wandered off somewhere else.

At this moment, Roger said to Milton with a serious expression, "Are you in such a hurry to go to the classical music club to hear that piece of unknown origin? I've already told you, you'd better stop doing this."

“I’ve already said, she’s harmless, she’s just a beautiful piece of music!” Milton said stubbornly. “Or you could try to persuade your girlfriend.”

"Hey! I'm worried about you!" Roger looked at him with displeasure.

Milton's expression softened. "Thank you, Roger, but we know what we're doing. You really don't need to worry, considering you don't even know anything about music."

Roger looked at him in surprise upon hearing this, "You..."

Ding ding ding.

Just then, Professor McGonagall, who was sitting in the faculty section, rang her wine glass.

"Quiet," she said. "Professor Dumbledore has something to say to you."

Roger was forced to stop himself from speaking, and he looked somewhat displeased.

"Cough cough."

Dumbledore had already stood up and coughed twice.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I propose to hold this dinner tonight mainly to tell you some good news."

Upon hearing this, the students at the four long tables became somewhat restless; they liked to hear good news.

Only a few students who knew the situation smiled knowingly.

“About what happened a couple of days ago,” Dumbledore said loudly. “Yes, about the Chamber of Secrets in Slytherin and the Heir.”

The Great Hall immediately fell silent again, and most of the students present involuntarily turned their gaze to the Slytherin table.

The Slytherin students' faces turned somewhat grim, but they all deliberately sat up straight.

Only Malfoy's two big henchmen were busy stealing food from the table.

Dumbledore, seemingly oblivious to the students' reaction, continued loudly, "Mrs. Norris, the poor cat has been petrified."

Scott saw Filch standing in the corner, covering his face in sorrow.

"But we will be able to treat it soon."

Dumbledore turned to look at the short, plump witch in the teachers' table who looked very kind.

“We can save it once Professor Sprout’s mandrake matures.”

Professor Sprout, the headmaster of Hufflepuff House and professor of herbalism, nodded to the students.

But most of the students didn't care what happened to the damn cat; they were urging Dumbledore on with their eyes, hoping he would tell something even more exciting.

"Oh, it seems you want to hear about the Chamber of Secrets in Slytherin."

Dumbledore nodded, appearing very agreeable.

"Forgive me, I've become a bit long-winded as I've gotten older."

He continued, "Of course, tonight's dinner is to celebrate that we have completely eliminated the threat of the secret room."

He seemed to be deliberately building up interest, which angered many students, who even started banging on the tables in protest.

"Quiet!"
