Afterwards, Chen's mother continued playing games with Li Lili. After playing yesterday and today, Li Lili taught Chen's mother many of her own tips and tricks, so now Chen's mother no longer kills her teammates or just spins around aimlessly; instead, she can hold her own against her opponents for a while.
Just as Chen's mother and Li Lili were playing a game, the aunt came over.
Upon hearing the doorbell ring, Li Lili quickly removed her blindfold and said to Chen's mother, "Mom, it must be Auntie. I'll go open the door." After saying that, Li Lili immediately went to open the door.
"Hello, is this Chen Ling's home?" the unfamiliar woman outside the door said.
"Yes, may I ask who you are?" Li Lili asked.
"I'm the housekeeper he contacted yesterday, and we agreed that she would start her trial work today," the aunt outside the door continued.
"Okay, okay, please come in." Li Lili said quickly.
Li Lili led her aunt toward the living room.
"Auntie, what's your name?" Li Lili asked casually.
"My surname is Yang, you can just call me Aunt Yang," the aunt said cheerfully.
Judging from the aunt's reaction, you can tell that she is a lively person.
Soon, Li Lili and Aunt Yang arrived in the living room.
So Li Lili quickly introduced Chen's mother to Aunt Yang, and then introduced Aunt Yang to Chen's mother.
However, Chen's mother wasn't as enthusiastic about Aunt Yang's reaction; she still felt that Aunt Yang had taken over her work. The older woman couldn't quite grasp this change of heart.
"Sister Yang, my daughter Xiaoxue has a sensitive stomach. We've prepared a diet plan for her, and we'd appreciate it if you could cook for us according to it," said Chen's mother to Li Lili and Aunt Yang.
"No problem, leave it to me. I'll go mop the floor first." The aunt agreed to Chen's mother first, then quickly looked around before speaking again.
"Okay, Aunt Yang, thank you for your hard work." Li Lili said with a smile as soon as she heard this.
At that moment, Li Lili led Aunt Yang to the bathroom, grabbed a mop, and then explained the rooms to Aunt Chen.
So Li Lili said, "Auntie, you don't need to clean these rooms. Just clean the common areas for us. You can also cook for us. There's nothing else to do."
Upon hearing this, the aunt immediately agreed. Li Lili then returned to the living room and continued playing games with Chen's mother.
“Mom, if you practice hard, you’ll soon be able to surpass Dad’s level,” Li Lili said.
"Haha, that's right." Chen's mother said with a smile after hearing this. She had practiced so hard in the hope of defeating Chen's father so that he would no longer dare to look down on her level. However, judging from yesterday's situation, Chen's father had already changed his opinion of her.
Afterwards, Li Lili and Chen's mother played a few more games. Li Lili observed that Chen's mother's reaction was not unusual, so she decided to go back to the company in the afternoon.
Li Lili said to Chen's mother, "Mom, I'm going back to the company this afternoon. You'll be fine at home, right?"
"What else could I possibly have to do? You can go this afternoon without worry," Mrs. Chen quickly said.
"That's fine then," Li Lili said to Chen's mother with a smile.
Afterwards, Li Lili played a few more games with Chen's mother, and then Aunt Yang finished her work.
Aunt Yang walked over and said, "Shall I wipe this cabinet again? Is that convenient for you?"
Upon hearing this, Mrs. Chen quickly said, "Why don't you sit down and rest for a while?" Mrs. Chen was a gentle person, and seeing Aunt Yang busy with chores, she couldn't bear to let Aunt Yang continue working.
"That's not a good idea," Aunt Yang began.
"It's alright, come and sit down," Li Lili said, turning to look at Aunt Yang.
Aunt Yang naturally had no choice but to comply, so she went to the living room and sat down.
“Aunt Yang, you can call me Ningxue or Xiaoxue, it’s fine. This is my mom. She contacted Chen Ling for you. He’s my husband. My dad went out, but he should be back around noon,” Li Lili said to Aunt Yang.
“Okay, then I’ll call you Xiaoxue. But I think your mother is probably not as old as me, so is it appropriate to call her ‘little sister’?” Aunt Yang said, looking at Li Lili and then turning to Chen’s mother.
“Okay, call her whatever sounds natural to you, we don’t really care,” Mrs. Chen said to Aunt Yang.
At this moment, Chen's mother was no longer so wary of Aunt Yang. Perhaps they just felt a connection. She didn't think Aunt Yang was a bad person, but she still felt a little jealous.
"Okay, from now on I'll call you 'little sister,' it sounds more friendly that way. By the way, this must be your daughter-in-law, right? She's really beautiful, and she's even here playing games with you. She's so filial," Aunt Yang said, looking at Li Lili.
"Yes, this is my daughter-in-law. She's very filial. I also have a daughter, but she's already married," Mrs. Chen said with a smile.
"Sigh, my son got married this year, but his wife is nothing like Xiaoxue. She has a terrible temper, and I have to avoid her most of the time," Aunt Yang said sadly.
Chapter 368 Becoming One of the Same People 2
Upon hearing Aunt Yang's words, both Chen's mother and Li Lili were very surprised, and they exchanged a knowing glance.
"What's wrong with your daughter-in-law? Is she really that amazing?" Mrs. Chen asked curiously. This was the first time she had heard of such a thing. Among her friends, she had never heard anyone mention it.
"Yes, my daughter-in-law is just as beautiful as Xiaoxue. My son pursued her for many years before finally marrying her. Now she has a bit of a temper and likes to throw tantrums for no reason. She especially thinks I'm useless and that I'm a disgrace to her, so she often causes me trouble." Aunt Yang spoke in a calm tone, but Li Lili and the others could tell that Aunt Yang was harboring grievances.
Just then, Chen's mother began to speak: "What about your son? Doesn't he do anything about it?"
“My son is quite afraid of her, and he usually obeys her every word. In addition, she always chooses to cause trouble for me when my son is not at home. I am afraid of affecting their relationship, so I have never told my son about these things,” Aunt Yang said with a smile.
Listening to Aunt Yang's casual words, they all understood her situation.
"Sigh, there are all sorts of people these days, really," Mrs. Chen said helplessly.
"Aunt Yang, you seem like a straightforward person, why didn't you talk to your daughter-in-law about it?" Li Lili asked curiously, thinking there must be a way to discuss it.
"Yes, I'm a very straightforward person, and I usually say whatever comes to mind. But since this concerns my son's happiness, I thought I'd just bear with it," Aunt Yang continued.
"Doesn't your husband care?" Li Lili continued to ask.
“He passed away many years ago,” Aunt Yang said with a hint of sadness in her eyes.
"Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't know, I'm really sorry." Li Lili quickly apologized to Aunt Yang after hearing this.
"It's alright, it's all in the past," Aunt Yang said after taking a deep breath.
Looking at Aunt Yang, Mrs. Chen felt a pang of sadness. As a mother herself, she knew what a son meant to a mother, especially for one who had raised him alone. Mrs. Chen felt sorry for Aunt Yang.
"Auntie, please stay here and talk to my mom more often, so you both have someone to chat with," Li Lili said to Aunt Yang. "Thank you so much," Aunt Yang said gratefully.
However, it was at this moment that Chen's mother completely accepted Aunt Yang, which was something she herself did not expect. She had been very opposed to Chen Ling wanting to find an aunt, so she was thinking that she would have a showdown with Aunt Yang. But she did not expect that she would accept it so quickly.
Then, Chen's mother continued chatting with Aunt Yang, completely ignoring Li Lili who was standing to the side. Then Li Lili said, "Mom, you two keep chatting. We've been playing games for so long, let's take a break."
"Okay." Upon hearing this, Chen's mother quickly replied, and then continued chatting with Aunt Yang.
At that moment, Li Lili took out her phone and started sending messages to Chen Ling.
"Done." Li Lili sent just two short words.
"So fast?" Chen Ling replied to Li Lili's message instantly.
"Yes, we'll talk about the specifics when you get back. I'll go to the company after lunch," Li Lili texted again.
Chen Ling simply replied with an "OK" emoji, and then went back to doing what he was doing.
Li Lili watched as Chen's mother and Aunt Yang chatted incessantly, thinking that now that Aunt Chen had come over, someone would be there to keep Chen's mother company, which was quite nice.
"Huh, this is...?" After returning from outside, Mr. Chen saw the unfamiliar faces in the living room and quickly began to speak.
"This is the nanny Chen Ling invited over yesterday," Chen's mother quickly introduced to Chen's father after hearing this. However, Chen's father was quite surprised when he heard his mother's words. Just yesterday, Chen's mother was so opposed to Chen Ling hiring a nanny, how come she's become so friendly with her so quickly today?
"Hello," Aunt Yang greeted him. "Hello, hello," Mr. Chen replied, looking confused.
Then Li Lili said to Mr. Chen, "Dad, come here, let me explain." As she spoke, Li Lili waved to Mr. Chen.
At that moment, Mr. Chen strode up to Li Lili and hurriedly asked, "Tell me quickly, what happened? Did something serious happen this morning?"
"It's nothing serious, they just got along really well. Dad, I'm going back to the company after lunch, so don't go out this afternoon. Stay home and keep Mom company," Li Lili said casually.
"Didn't you say you weren't going today? Why are you back at the company?" Mr. Chen asked.
“There’s nothing much going on at home, so I’ll go back and check on things. The company’s been pretty busy lately, as I just told Chen Ling,” Li Lili quickly said.
"Okay, I won't go out this afternoon, don't worry," Mr. Chen said with a smile.
After finishing his speech, Mr. Chen turned to look at Mrs. Chen and Aunt Yang. He was now very curious about what was so special about Aunt Yang that she had won Mrs. Chen's heart so quickly.
So she saw Mr. Chen staring intently at Mrs. Chen and Aunt Yang beside her. Li Lili also took in Mr. Chen's expression, but she didn't know where to begin with the story of Mrs. Chen and Aunt Yang, so she simply kept quiet.
And so, Mrs. Chen and Aunt Yang continued chatting until Aunt Yang said, "I should go cook now."
"Oh, right, Auntie, let's add each other on WeChat, I'll send you the recipes," Li Lili said quickly after hearing Aunt Yang's suggestion.
At this moment, Chen's mother quickly said, "Come on, come on, let's add each other on WeChat first."
Then Aunt Yang took out her phone and added Chen's mother and Li Lili on WeChat. Li Lili then sent the recipe to Aunt Yang.
“Auntie, our vegetables are all in the kitchen. Well, I’ll go with you to take a look,” Li Lili said to Aunt Yang.
Chapter 369 Exquisite Culinary Skills
So Li Lili led Aunt Yang to the kitchen, where she began to tell Aunt Yang about the things inside. Soon, Li Lili finished explaining.
"Auntie, you go ahead with your work, I'll head over now," Li Lili said to Aunt Yang.
"Okay, you can go ahead," Aunt Yang said quickly.
So Li Lili strode back to the living room, where Chen's mother was talking to Chen's father.
"Mom and Dad, what are you talking about? You seem so serious," Li Lili asked as she walked over.
"We were talking about Aunt Yang. Your dad was curious why I accepted her so quickly," Chen's mother said hurriedly after hearing Li Lili's words.
“Mom, you’re just too soft-hearted. You always think of others first. I think this time is no different,” Li Lili said with a smile.
Upon hearing this, Chen's mother nodded in agreement with what Li Lili said.
"Xiaoxue, you understand me better than anyone else," Chen's mother said with a smile.
"When I first got back, I saw you two chatting so enthusiastically. I thought she was one of your friends from before. I was wondering why I'd never seen her before. Turns out she's the aunt Chen Ling found yesterday. I never expected you two to become such good friends so quickly," Mr. Chen said with a sigh.
"Haha, isn't it fate that we met? Naturally, we have more to talk about. I think Sister Yang is a very nice person," Chen's mother said with a smile.
"Alright then," Mr. Chen said calmly. Mr. and Mrs. Chen's mindset now is vastly different from before their marriage to Chen Ling.
Then Chen's mother and the others chatted together, and before long, Aunt Yang had prepared lunch.
"The food is ready," Aunt Yang called out as she came over to them to eat.
"Okay, thank you for your hard work," Mrs. Chen said with a smile. Then they went to wash their hands and prepare for lunch.
After they sat down, Aunt Yang didn't seem inclined to sit down and eat with them.
"Sister Yang, please sit down and eat with us," Chen's mother said, turning to look at Aunt Yang.
