Just as Dure was discussing the Frost Dragon with Restia, someone soon arrived at the military headquarters.
There were quite a few people who came, but only a few who were truly influential; to be precise, there were only two.
These two people arrived at the military headquarters at the same time.
"Oh, this is... Her Majesty Winry?" The guard on duty quickly recognized the young woman approaching. He was taken aback and immediately gave a proper military salute.
“You don’t need to address me that way. The royal family has been dissolved. I am not Her Majesty Winry. You should call me Councilor Winry.” The elegant woman with a refined demeanor said softly.
"Ah, I see, Councilor Winry! This is... Councilor Liana, you've come too?"
The guards were also surprised when they recognized the other person as Liana, after all, these two were currently the most powerful people in the Snow Kingdom.
"I heard that Dure has returned to Frost City and is currently in the military headquarters, is that right?" Liana asked.
"Are you referring to Lord Du Lei of the Inspection Department? He is indeed currently at the military headquarters!" the guard immediately replied.
"The first thing that guy, Dure, did after returning to Frost City wasn't to see me, but to come to the military headquarters. He's the kind of guy who only cares about official business and has no personal matters at all," Liana complained.
“But given the current situation in Frost City, official business is obviously more important. So, Liana, let’s go in and see Dure together,” Winry suggested.
After Winry and Liana met at the entrance of the military headquarters, they went inside together to look for Dure and Restia.
With the help of several guards, the two of them successfully arrived at the door of Restia's office and knocked on the door.
"Huh? Councilwoman Winry and Councilwoman Liana, what brings you two here?" Restia was quite surprised by their arrival.
Because currently, in the Land of Snow, the two of them are the most powerful people.
One represented the old aristocracy, and the other represented the emerging bourgeoisie.
It was precisely because the two of them were able to reach an agreement that the Snow Kingdom was able to stop its internal strife and maintain its rapid growth and prosperity.
“Where’s Dure? I heard he’s back and came straight here. Is he here?” Winry asked.
“Dure was here about 10 minutes ago,” Restia could certainly say.
"He was here 10 minutes ago, which means he's already slipped away?" Liana said with a stern face.
"After asking Dure about the Frost Dragon, he left, and I don't know where he went," Restia said helplessly.
"So that means that guy slipped away again?" Liana stomped her feet in anger.
"Durey must have gone to deal with the Frost Dragon, right?" Restia said after thinking for a moment.
“By the way, General Restia, there’s something I’d like to confirm with you?” Winry suddenly said.
“Consul Winnie, please feel free to ask me any questions,” General Restia said respectfully.
“I heard that Dure didn’t come back alone, right?” Winry maintained her elegant, smiling demeanor.
"Well..." Restia hesitated for a moment, unsure how to answer.
"I heard that Dure brought two people back with him, and both of them are women. One is a lively and youthful girl, and the other is a hot and mature woman. Is that true, General Restia?" Liana asked with a smile.
Although he was smiling, Restia's sixth sense allowed her to clearly perceive a chilling killing intent; it was clearly a smile hiding a knife.
"I think there are two such people..."
Restia looked at the two people with some curiosity, facing the aggressive power and Liana.
Although the two people appear to be smiling on the surface, everyone knows that they don't get along well. One reason is that they represent different class positions, and another reason is that their personalities are completely different.
But now, these two people, who are clearly at odds with each other in every way, are able to reach a consensus on certain issues and cast that terrifying gaze upon her.
The reason they were able to do this first step—writing the answer—is simply because of two words.
Du Lei.
It was that man, who held a pivotal position in the Land of Snow, who had angered them so much.
"As expected, the rumors weren't false. That guy Dure really did bring two people back." After confirming this with Restia, Winry's face turned ashen.
“After all, that guy Dure has been gone from the Snow Country for almost a year. A lot can happen in a day, let alone a year. Maybe his child is already a year old.” Restia still maintained her smile, but her smile was extremely terrifying.
"I haven't seen the child. This is probably just a rumor. After all, it would take a long time for the baby to be born," Restia said cautiously.
She was an unparalleled female general of the Snow Kingdom, invincible on the battlefield, but now, facing these two women, she felt trembling with fear.
“Then we have disturbed you, General Restia. We shall take our leave now.” Wendy bowed slightly and bid farewell to General Restia before departing.
"That guy Dure... he's only been gone for a year, and he's already brought back two women. This is unforgivable, absolutely unforgivable!" Liana said angrily as she walked away with Winry.
Just as Liana and Winry bid farewell to General Restia and left the military headquarters, Dure, on the other side, sneezed for no apparent reason.
"Ah."
"Du Lei, what's wrong? Are you sick?" Ying Yue asked with concern as she went over and touched Du Lei's forehead.
"It's alright, I'm in great shape right now, how could I possibly be sick?" Du Lei shook his head and said with a smile.
"It would be best if you weren't sick. If you are sick, you must take medicine. So, Du Lei, where are we going now?" Sakura asked, tilting her head.
“We’re going to a place where I’ve spent a long time,” Dure said softly.
"Dure, is the place where you spent a long time the place where you grew up?" Sakura became increasingly curious.
“It’s not the place where I grew up, but the place where I lost a lot of time,” Dure said, shaking his head.
"Du Lei, what do you mean? I don't understand." Sakura was increasingly confused.
"It's okay if you don't understand, just follow me."
"Oh……"
Although Sakura still had doubts, she thought that as long as she followed Dure, there shouldn't be any problems.
The three of them quickly arrived at the train station. At this time, most of the trains at the station were out of service, but there were many guards on duty near a dedicated track.
"This is a military train area. Unauthorized personnel, please leave." A young guard stepped forward and warned the three people as they approached.
“This is my identification.” Dure handed his identification to the armed guard.
948 Military Supplies
"You are... the Inspector General of the Inspection Department... Ah, are you Commander Dure?"
The guard checked the documents, reading the handwriting, and quickly saw Du Lei's identification and official title.
Upon seeing the words "Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Supervision," he immediately became respectful and gave Du Lei a proper military salute.
"Yes, I am Du Lei." Du Lei nodded, confirming his identity.
"So, Commander Dure, what are your orders?" the guard asked immediately.
"Where is this military train headed?" Du Lei asked, looking at the train that was unloading cargo into the carriages not far away.
"Sir, this military train has received orders from General Verdun to transport some goods to the south," the young guard replied immediately.
"General Verdun? Is he transporting military supplies?" Dure asked, frowning.
"Well, I'm not too sure about that." The young guard shook his head, also unsure, since he was only responsible for police duties, and other matters were outside his scope of responsibility.
"By the way, who are those people over there?" Du Lei asked, pointing to a spot not far away.
He noticed several middle-aged men in leather coats pointing and gesturing in the distance. These men were clearly not from the military.
His pot-bellied appearance made him look more like a capitalist.
"Them? Reporting, sir. They appear to be guests of General Verdun," the young guard quickly reported.
"You said they were guests from Verdun, so who are those people carrying the crates?" Dure's brow furrowed even more as he noticed a group of people carrying crates of goods not far away. These people were not wearing military uniforms and did not look like military personnel.
"General Verdun instructed that these are secret supplies, so we can't ask any more questions," the young guard said helplessly.
"Secret supplies?" Dure was skeptical as he walked forward.
Seeing Du Lei's ashen face, Yingyue didn't dare to ask any more questions and followed closely behind him. Soon they arrived near the cargo wagon, where several merchants in leather coats were directing nearby laborers to move goods.
"Be careful, be careful. If these things are broken, we couldn't afford to pay for them even if we sold ourselves, understand?"
A middle-aged man, probably around 40 years old, was directing the operation on site. He was somewhat overweight, had a small mustache, and wore a hat, making him look rather comical.
However, he looked extremely fierce.
"Who are you people?" Du Lei asked as he walked over.
"What business is it of yours who we are, and where did you come from?" A burly man behind the middle-aged businessman shouted.
He had a pair of daggers at his waist, which suggested he was a bodyguard.
"This is a military zone. Who gave you permission to transport goods here without authorization?" Du Lei asked coldly.
"Kid, I advise you to watch your mouth. This is our Lord Rom. If you know what's good for you, get lost, or don't blame me for being ruthless with this knife!" The bodyguard pulled out a dagger from his waist and threatened.
"Oh? I'd like to see just how impolite you can be to me," Du Lei said in a deep voice as he walked over with a gloomy face.
"Kid, you asked for this..."
The bodyguard, brandishing his dagger, was ready to teach the young man a lesson. After all, he had taken Lord Rom's money and had to help him out. Before this, many people had provoked Rom, but none of them had ended well.
However, just as he was about to hold the dagger to the neck of this arrogant young man in front of him, he suddenly felt a chill down his spine.
He sensed a thin, long sword pressed against his abdomen, though he didn't know when it had happened.
The blade was extremely sharp; even from a hair's breadth away, he could feel the chilling aura emanating from it.
"Hey, why are you so annoying? Can't you just listen to Du Lei properly?" Sakura gripped her long sword and took a step forward. If her blade moved forward just an inch more, it would be enough to take the bodyguard's life.
In the past, she would have killed this person without hesitation, but she didn't do so now because Du Lei had previously instructed her not to kill anyone without his permission.
"Stop it, all of you!"
Just then, someone shouted loudly from not far away.
Du Lei turned his head and saw a middle-aged soldier walking over, escorted by a group of guards.
He wasn't very tall, only of medium height, which was rather thin for someone from the Snow Country. He had a small tuft of beard, which looked like it had been carefully groomed.
He was wearing a general's uniform, and could be identified as a high-ranking officer with the rank of major general.
"General Verdun, you've finally arrived! There's some guy who's suddenly appeared out of nowhere causing trouble here," a middle-aged merchant named Rom immediately greeted him and began to complain to Verdun.
"Rome, calm down, I'll handle things here." Verdun walked over, his face grim and looking very angry.
"General Verdun, who is this...?"
