Duels should be played with a smile.

"Ready? If you are, let's begin," Xia Di suddenly asked from the other side.

Leyou nodded slightly, and two huge dice appeared out of thin air on the field for both sides, spinning.

[Roll Points Results: Leyou: 1, Xiadi: 6]

Xia Di gained the initiative, and Le You looked at the roll result, somewhat speechless.

Having gained the initiative, Xia Di did not immediately seize the first move. Instead, after some thought, he spoke.

"My deck is better suited for breaking through as the second player, so I'll leave the first move to you."

After saying that, he drew five cards from the deck... cards that had been transformed from stone tablets, held them in his hand, and remained silent.

At this moment, Leyou was completely stunned.

Dude, are you really here to do your job or to deliver packages? Your behavior is almost on par with Uncle Pa's!

However, Leyou also dared not let his guard down, because based on Xiadi's knowledge of the Master's Rules, he was very likely to have communicated with some mysterious being, and it was possible that his communication partner was one or more of the thirteen secret codes.

If that's the case... going second to break through, this guy's deck isn't going to be something like Kaguya Kaiju or PSY, which are mind-bending, right? Or is it something like Hero or Cyber Dragon, which are OTK decks for going second?

Or perhaps, is this guy holding a handful of hand-pits? Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring? Yashiki-doroki? Hyoubuki? Or just a mirage?

In just half a minute, Leyou had already gone through countless decks in his mind, including classic cards like One Drop and Barrier Wave, but when he thought about how Shadi's deck was just created using the Stone Tablet, he felt that it wasn't quite right.

Being too restrained is not something a duelist should do. Even if the opponent's deck is a pie chart deck, you still need to look at your starting hand to decide how to deal with it.

After drawing five cards from his deck, Leyou felt much more at ease when he saw two familiar spell cards and one monster card that he hadn't used in a long time.

The fifteen extra sheets were quietly placed aside, and after checking them again, Leyou felt completely relieved.

Meanwhile, Xia Di looked at the five cards he had drawn and felt very relieved.

Lightning strike, black hole, feather duster, a modifier monster called Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring obtained from that powerful being, and a life-slashing card similar to Kaiba's, Shadi felt he could finally complete his mission.

He will fulfill the mission of the tomb-guarding clan for three thousand years. Once he has gathered all the ancient artifacts and helped the Pharaoh open the gates of memory, he can begin to guide this world toward a higher dimension.

At that time, he can finally live a peaceful and ordinary life...

"I've finished checking on my end. Are you ready yet? I'll start when you're done."

Shadi nodded, slightly separating Ash Blossom from the other cards in his hand. Based on the knowledge he had learned from that powerful being, this card was crucial in Master Duels.

"Then I'll begin..."

"Is there anything to do during the preparation phase?"

Xia Di shook his head.

Leyou breathed a sigh of relief. It was probably because there was no G. Of course, it was also possible that Xiadi didn't know that the semi-ranked player had discarded a G to defend against a potential three-player deck. Of course, it was also possible that he was defending against a potential Pokémon on his side, since in this era, there was no limit to one Pokémon.

"Main Phase 1, Activate the area spell [Semi-magical zone], any issues?"

Xia Di shook his head.

"Then I'll continue. Normal Summon Cyber Dragon, activate its effect, Special Summon one Level 2 or lower Normal Monster from my hand or Deck in Defense Position. Anything else?"

As soon as he finished speaking, he saw Xia Di smile on his face.

"Discard Ash Blossom from your hand to negate this effect!"

Network Xiaolong, who looked almost like a base station, had just arrived on the field and was about to make a call to summon a henchman when he saw a broad-browed middle-aged woman flying towards him, aggressively trying to smash his phone to pieces.

"Chain with your Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, activate the Quick-Play Spell Card [Called from the Graveyard], banish Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring from your Graveyard, and negate the effects of any banished monsters with the same name until the end of the next turn. Does this chain?"

The smile vanished from Xia Di's face, and he shook his head blankly.

"So, the chain reverse processing, the tomb finger scrapes away your ashes, which is ineffective, and then the effect of the network dragon is processed normally."

Special Summon the Level 2 Normal Tuner Monster, Guardian Dragon Justia, from your Deck!

"Are there any other hand pits? If not, you can clean up and lubricate them."

Chapter Fifty-Five: What have you been protecting?

Legend has it that there's a card that, if you play it and your opponent doesn't have any hand traps, then your opponent can surrender.

Legend has it that there is a card with immense allure, so much so that some people carry it close to their body (referring to their crotch), just so they can pull it out to save their lives in a critical moment.

Some people don't think this effect is anything special, as it's just drawing a normal monster from the deck. However, many players who experienced that era know what it means to create everything from a single card.

Of course, many people may have seen the GIF of a certain card that summons a network dragon and then one person follows it with a chain, discarding all ten cards in the hand and nothing happens. That picture is enough to illustrate how important it is to prevent this card, the root of all evil, from spreading.

When summoning magic is developed to its extreme, a single card can be fatal.

"If you're alright, then I'll continue... continue the operation."

"There are two monsters on the field, but we've already used our Normal Summon opportunity. Should we perform a Fusion Summon? Or perhaps a ritual?"

Xia Di had communicated with that powerful being, but due to time constraints, he only learned the general rules of the Master, including health points and the rule that you don't draw cards if you go first.

He had inquired about Fusion and Ritual, and knew that there were some outrageous decks that used Fusion and attack power as conditions for fake Ritual cards. However, he hadn't thought of such a possibility for other summoning spells at first. By the time he remembered, he hadn't even had a chance to ask before he was thrown out of there.

"Fusion and ritual... If my deck included Red Daddy, I might actually show you what a more prestigious summoning method is, but unfortunately I don't, and there's no need to."

"Using the LV2 Tuner monster [Guardian Dragon Justia] and the LV3 [Network Dragon] for a Synchro Summon! A wish to gather... well, gather my ass. Anyway, Synchro Summon! Descend! The Synchro Glory locked in the Forbidden List! LV5 [Star Grail's Divine Child Eve]!"

The little dragon on the internet, which neither looks like a dragon nor is actually a dragon, and the guardian dragon, which can be roughly identified as a dragon, flew into the sky. One transformed into a ring, and the other into starlight. With the blessing of perpetual motion particles, they began to sublimate.

As the light faded, a scantily clad purple-haired girl appeared on the field. She stood obediently in front, but turned back and winked at Leyou.

Synchro... Summoning?

"It's just adding things together anyway, you don't need to know so much about Yu-Gi-Oh!" Leyou replied casually.

He now felt he had a pretty good grasp of Xia Di's understanding of the Master Rules.

"Do you have G? Are there any other chains?"

Xia Di shook his head.

"Then I'll continue. Eve's effect: search my deck for a [Star Relic] card. I search for the Continuous Spell Card [Star Relic's Guardian Dragon]."

"Activating the [Star Relic Guardian Dragon] to Special Summon the Graveyard Guardian Dragon, is there a chain?"

Shadi continued to shake his head, but he wasn't worried at all, because as long as it was his turn, he had a total of 8 cards in hand, which was enough to deal with any situation.

"Alright then... this time it's time for a real gathering of prayers."

"The summoning condition is 2 Tuner monsters, arrow confirmed! I'll set the arrows for Eve and Guardian Dragon on the field!"

"Let our gathered prayers become the shining stars of new life, transforming into a path of radiant light! Link Summon, Link 2! The root of all evil, ostensibly a Synchro Support but actually an accomplice to Link! Crystal Machine - Inherited Fiberglass!"

[Water · Link 2 · Machine Race · Attack Power 1500 · Arrow ↙↘]

The girl and the dragon transform into a link to the hope of the future, summoning the crystal-forged mecha to an additional area. His arrows link the lower left and lower right areas, illuminating the path to the future.

"Water purifier effect, Divine Child effect, self-draining chain, C1 water purifier, C2 Divine Child, is there a chain?"

"No."

"Then, in the reverse chain, first, the Divine Child, if this Synchro Summoned card is sent to the Graveyard, I summon a [Star Grail] monster other than the same name from my Deck and Graveyard, and Special Summon [Star Grail Guardian Dragon]!"

"Then there's the Water Machine effect. If a Link Summon is successful, Special Summon 1 Level 3 or lower Tuner in Defense Position from your hand or Deck. Here, we Special Summon [Galaxy Serpent]."

In Yu-Gi-Oh!, one of the most terrifying effects is summoning monsters from your deck, and this effect becomes increasingly terrifying as the card pool grows. Without strict self-control, cards with this effect will inevitably run into trouble sooner or later.

Therefore, the God Child, who was essentially a combination of two monsters, was imprisoned, while the Water Machine was only limited to one due to his special status.

But if those three ultimate war criminals were ever imprisoned, no one would be surprised—at that time, it would most likely be DogK printing new fake cards to scam money again.

"Then continue the linking! The summoning condition is 2 or more Effect Monsters that include a Link Monster, and the arrow is confirmed! I will set the Guardian Dragon and the Water Machine from the Star Grail as arrows!"

"Link Summoning, Link 3! Great Monarch's Holy Knight!"

A centaur-like knight, who has overcome countless obstacles, stands in the extra area on the right, and the monsters in the linked area become his source of power.

[Light - Link 3 - Cyberse - Attack Power 2000 - Arrow ↙↑↘]

When Shadi saw the monster appear, his eyes became focused.

"The Cyberse...are they a fellow race of that being?"

Immersed in the joy of storytelling, Leyou didn't notice this and continued with his actions.

A storyteller who can't be interrupted and whose opponent won't surrender is a rare find!

"Barely the Guardian Dragon of the Graveyard, and Special Summon the Normal Monster Guardian Dragon Justia from the Graveyard in Defense Position in the lower right of Grand Summoner."

"Next up is the banlist preview! The summoning condition is 1 Level 4 or lower Dragon-Type monster. I've set [Guardian Dragon Justia] as the arrow! Link Summon it via the bottom right link of the Grand Monarch!"

"Link Summon, Link 1! The right wing of the Guardian Dragon that wasn't protected at all [Guardian Dragon Elpi]!"

[Dark Link 1 Dragon Clan Attack Power 1000 Arrow ←]

The one-winged golden dragon finally managed to slip out of the banned card list, but upon closer inspection, oh dear, it's the Great Monarch. Looking at the graveyard, it sees the Divine Child and the Water Machine. It understands; it's destined to never get out of prison.

Unless you learn from that older brother who's now the eldest sister and cut off those wings.

"Now that we have the right wing, we need the left wing too! The summoning conditions remain the same. I'll set the [Galaxy Sea Serpent] as an arrow! Perform a link summon on the lower left link of the Grand Monarch!"

"Link Summon, Link 1! The left wing that protects the whole family on the Forbidden List but doesn't enter it itself [Guardian Dragon Visti]!"

[Dark Link 1 Dragon Clan Attack Power 1000 Arrow →]

The black dragon is on the left, the golden dragon on the right. They exchange a glance, and I understand.

They had met in this way countless times, protecting each other as fellow dragons.

Then they put their whole family on the forbidden card list.

That's great, we don't have to fight anymore.

Come on, finish this round! After that, you'll be back on the banned card list, so cherish this hard-won free time.

Chapter 56 Forbidden Card List - Time for Refreshment

"The effect of the right wing, once during the Main Phase. Special Summon 1 Dragon-Type monster from your hand or Deck to your field as a zone linked by 2 or more Link Monsters. Special Summon 'Awakening Dragon Baby Hellwind God' from my Deck to the zone linked by both the left and right wings."

The two guardian dragons, through their connection, opened a portal between them. A demon dragon, resembling a young blue-eyed white dragon, flew out of the portal and landed between them.

"If the effect of Awakening Dragon is successfully Special Summoned, I target 1 face-up Left Wing on the field, discard 1 card from my hand, and search my Deck for a monster of the same Type and Attribute as Left Wing but with a different name."

The young dragon flapped its tiny wings, and a magic circle appeared beneath it, connecting it to a forbidden entity.
