Outside the Lawrence Manor, a bewildered Wendy looked at the Lawrence family gate, then at Su Bai who had brought her there, and exclaimed in disbelief.

"This is the good place you found for drinking? Lawrence's men will definitely kick us out."

Seeing that Su Bai remained silent, Wendy stroked her chin. Su Bai's enigmatic demeanor made her somewhat unable to fathom him. Thinking of what she had done in the past, Wendy lowered her voice.

"Su Bai, are you planning to steal some wine? I'll keep watch for you, and we'll split it 50/50."

“Steal? Wendy, don’t use your barren mind to judge my noble character. Today, we’ll walk in openly and honestly.”

Su Bai rolled her eyes at Wendy, straightened her clothes, and kicked open the Lawrence family's front door while Wendy looked on in confusion.

The guards, who were slacking off, were stunned by Su Bai's sudden kick. What was going on? Had someone come to cause trouble for the Lawrence family?

Ignoring the watchful guards around him, Su Bai, imitating Zhong Li, walked towards the tallest building with his hands behind his back. Wendy, seeing that Su Bai was about to walk away, immediately followed.

"Su Bai, that's a great trick! The guards were stunned. I'll use this trick next time I steal wine, then I won't have to spend time hiding from them."

Wendy gave Su Bai a thumbs up, and Su Bai scoffed dismissively, his arrogant demeanor no different from that of the Lawrence family.

"This is nothing, Wendy. Just drink as much as you want today. Drink until you drop, as much as you can, as long as you don't die."

"Remember to choose the expensive ones to drink, don't get drunk after drinking a belly full of cheap cider."

Wendy chuckled. He had never accepted such a generous invitation before. It seemed that the Lawrence family's wine collection was in for a rough time today.

"Su Bai? What are you doing here? Did you come looking for me?"

"Yura? What are you doing here? You shouldn't be here?"

The sudden appearance of Yura completely disrupted Su Bai's plans. He had always thought that Yura was being held captive by the Lawrence family, but now it seemed that Yura was perfectly fine.

"Come on, this isn't the place to chat. Let's find somewhere else to talk."

"Hey, hey, what am I going to do with my wine?"

Watching Su Bai being pulled away by Yura, Wendy sighed regretfully. It seemed that they wouldn't be able to have a drink today, but there might be another chance in a few days.

Wendy's mood improved considerably after glancing at the middle-aged man with a livid face standing in front of the window not far away. As long as Su Bai was in Mondstadt, the Lawrence family would not give up their ambitions, and he was sure he would get a drink.

"Hahahaha, that's hilarious, Su Bai. I never thought that someone as a fox like you could be fooled."

"I only went to the banquet because I was worried about you, really."

Inside the Deer Hunter Restaurant, Yura was teasing Su Bai about his naivety. "So this is what it feels like to be worried about," she said. "It's really nice." Yura felt a warm glow in her heart. Su Bai, sitting to the side, looked quite depressed as he drank the free tea that Sarah had brought him.

"Yura's smile is so beautiful, she should smile more. If she always has a serious face, she might age prematurely."

Su Bai took a sip of tea, mimicking Zhongli's actions from his memory. Ouch! The tea was so hot that his tongue almost got blistered.

"How dare they call me old? I'll remember this grudge."

Yura suppressed her smile, not because Su Bai's words made her shy, but because she saw the guy who was usually very hostile towards her approaching Su Bai.

"This gentleman is from another country, isn't he?"

"Yes, that's right. I'm from Liyue. May I ask what brings you here? If not, please don't disturb my dinner with this beautiful lady."

The hateful looks these guys gave Yura disgusted Su Bai. As soon as they heard that Su Bai was from abroad, they immediately started talking bad about Yura.

He said things like the Lawrence family was an evil family, Lawrence was a sinner of Mondstadt, and everyone in the Lawrence family should apologize to Mondstadt. Yura bit her lip because she felt very uncomfortable that Su Bai had caused so much trouble because of her.

Su Bai remained silent while these people were speaking, and only after they had finished did he raise his head to look at them.

"Oh right, right, if you're done talking, then get lost and don't disturb my meal."

"I just find it strange, why are there so many problems in Mondstadt? Can't you tell the difference between good people and bad people?"

"Get out of my way, all of you. You might not want to eat with pretty girls, but I do."

Seeing the surge of lightning element on Su Bai's body, the gossipers immediately scattered. If Su Bai were a native of Mondstadt, these gossipers might not have been afraid, but Su Bai wasn't a local. If he were electrocuted and then ran away, they would be devastated.

"Why don't you explain to others? Amber always explains for me. I'll remember that grudge."

Seeing that Su Bai had stood up for her and driven away these guys who were affecting her appetite, Yura was very grateful, but would our proud Wave Knight say it out loud? That was definitely impossible.

"It's not a big deal. Rather than explaining to them and causing you further harm, it's better to just kick them out."

“Prejudice in people’s hearts is like a mountain. I’m not the Yu Gong from the Liyue mythology. I really don’t have much confidence in moving this mountain.”

"Instead of wasting our breath explaining these prejudices that have been passed down for generations, we might as well just give up and be done with it. Oh right, that's all."

When Yura heard Su Bai say this, she seemed to think that Su Bai's words made sense. Every time Amber finished explaining, those people would say a lot of nasty things to refute Amber, and she would not be in a good mood. Now that those people were driven away, she felt much better.

"So, Yura, have you considered coming to Liyue? It's a 9-to-5 job with five social insurances and one housing fund, weekends off, and no work on holidays."

"You actually dared to dig up my name in front of so many people, I'll remember this grudge!"

This invitation was somewhat of a spur-of-the-moment decision by Su Bai, and faced with all the pointing fingers and whispers, Su Bai felt a little sorry for Yura.

"Atoning is so difficult. These brainless bastards will never remember your kindness. They are a bunch of heartless wolves."

(When I was doing the Yura Legend quest, I was really puzzled. Didn't the people of Mondstadt know that Yura had been protecting them all along? Is it really like what Shen Gongbao said, that prejudice in people's hearts is a mountain that no matter how hard you try, you can't move?)

As they talked, Yura wasn't angry, but Su Bai did. In Liyue, people value repaying kindness, loyalty, and chivalry. Every Liyue person respects the Thousand Rock Army. Even the most powerful merchants wouldn't dare to be disrespectful in front of the Thousand Rock Army.

Su Bai was so angry that he couldn't eat. Seeing the people around him still pointing and whispering about Youla, he felt like they were bullying an honest person. Su Bai slammed his chopsticks on the table. He couldn't stand not saying something.

"Um, Su Bai, you don't actually need to go to this lengths for me. I can learn from you, right, right."

Yura tried to get up to stop Su Bai, but Su Bai pressed her down with one hand. The previous "playing it off" attitude was just Su Bai's attitude towards these Mondstadt people. Now he wanted to stand up for Yura. It was really too much of a bullying.

"You bunch of ingrates! There's nothing wrong with you being hostile to the Lawrence family when they committed crimes."

"But now, you're directing your hatred for the Lawrence family at a knight who protects you, targeting her at every turn and constantly mocking her. As those she protects, don't you feel any remorse?"

"Oh, right, I forgot that ingrates like you have no conscience. If anyone in Liyue dared to treat the Thousand Rock Army like that, I would be the first to kill them."

"You bunch of ingrates should be glad you live in Mondstadt. If you lived in Liyue, the Sand Tree would be extinct." (The wood of the Sand Tree can last for centuries without decaying; it's probably used to make the Casket of the Dead.)

"I don't care what the other members of the Lawrence family are like, but even I, a Liyue native, can't stand your attitude towards Yura."

Having vented all his anger, Su Bai let out a long breath. He felt only one word now—refreshing. When he turned around to pull Youla away from this troublesome place, he found that Youla's eyes were already filled with tears.

Su Bai glared fiercely at the onlookers, then grabbed Yura and used magic to disappear from the Deer Hunter Restaurant. Sarah looked at the somewhat noisy crowd outside the restaurant and sighed silently for Yura.

(The more I write, the more I feel sorry for Yura. If Yura had been born into a different family, or even a commoner, the people of Mondstadt would definitely not have the same attitude as in the game. When I met Yura at the bartending event, I really felt sorry for this little girl.)

Chapter Thirty-Six: Liyue's Little Chef

"Hey bro, why aren't you on duty outside the solitary confinement cell? Did our Spark Knight get released?"

"Yes, it's been a while since Stormterror came, so Captain Jean let that little one out. You patrols should be careful and not let her play with bombs in Mondstadt. I want to rest for a few more days."

The Knight of Favonius, who was in charge of guarding the solitary confinement cell, greeted several knights on patrol with a cheerful smile. After so many busy days, he could finally take a vacation.

Klee, after being released, didn't go straight home. Instead, she hopped and skipped down the street, clutching a specially made white bouncy bomb in her tiny arms.

When Klee encountered some acquaintances on the street, she would greet them politely. Many residents even joked that Klee should be careful not to be caught and put in solitary confinement again. Sarah, who had a good impression of Klee, even gave her a grilled fish for breakfast for free.

"I remember that Su Bai's house should be around here. Hehe, I'm sure Su Bai will love the surprise I prepared for him."

After finishing her grilled fish, Klee followed the address Su Bai had told her and arrived at a house with its door slightly ajar. Seeing that the door was not closed, Klee assumed Su Bai was home and peeked inside through the crack.

"Brother Su Bai, Ke Li is here to see you. Huh?? What happened?"

The room in front of me was a complete mess, with all kinds of furniture overturned on the floor, the bed broken in two, and footprints and scratches all over the walls. The whole room looked like it was uninhabitable.

Klee scratched her head. Had Su Bai gotten into a fight at home? How did the house end up like this? No, she had to go to Barbara's to see if Su Bai was hurt. If Su Bai was hurt, Klee would definitely help him defeat the bad guys.

Inside the Gift of the Angel, Diluc frowned as he looked at the intelligence report in his hand. The Lawrence family guards had wrecked Su Bai's house? Diluc took a deep breath. Good heavens, they've got guts. Surely no one actually thinks Su Bai, who hasn't caused much trouble in Mondstadt, is easy to talk to.

Diluc tossed the intelligence report onto the table. He had no intention of getting involved in the Lawrence family's affairs; he'd leave that to Jean, the acting captain, to deal with.

"Have the bartender keep an eye on Su Bai's whereabouts. If he returns to Mondstadt, give him this information."

In Springvale, Su Bai, unaware that his home had been vandalized, was discussing pigeon habits with Diona's father, Duraf. Duraf was quite dissatisfied with his flock of lazy pigeons. (One of the daily quests in Mondstadt involves helping Duraf herd pigeons; I always manage to shoot down a few...)

"Girl, where are you going with that bow?"

"Dad, the big fox is here and you haven't prepared anything? Didn't you say the pigeons were lazy? I'll go get you a few pigeons to eat."

Diona put her hands on her hips, a little angry that her father hadn't prepared any food for her. The big fox was her savior, and she couldn't just let the big fox sit there chatting with her father.

"Oh dear, I forgot to tell you guys."

Dula slapped his head, his tone tinged with a hint of annoyance.

"Today, Xiangling, the chef from Liyue, is coming to Springvale to catch wild boars. Your sister Brock is going to have a cooking competition with Chef Xiangling, and we'll get to eat some too. Lord Su Bai is in for a treat."

Diona glanced at her father in surprise. She had heard of Xiangling, the chef of Liyue, who was said to be extremely skilled in cooking. She never expected to be able to eat Xiangling's cooking today. What a lucky day!

"Xiangling? What's she doing in Mondstadt? Does she really want to try cooking with dragon meat?"

Su Bai muttered to himself, "I specifically mentioned the dragon disaster in Mondstadt to Xiangling when we went to Wanmin Hall for dinner. Xiangling shouldn't be unaware of it."

"Big fox, what are you muttering about? Aren't you from Liyue? You should have tasted Chef Xiangling's cooking, right? Tell me quickly, is her food really good?"

"Actually, Diona, you've also eaten things made by Xiangling. When we were having a picnic, the snacks you ate were made by Xiangling for me."

"Wh-what?"

Diona was filled with regret. If she had known that Chef Xiangling had made the desserts, she shouldn't have competed with Su Bai to see who could eat the fastest. So many delicious desserts, and she swallowed them before she could even taste them. It was such a waste.

"You wicked fox, why didn't you tell me?"

"I didn't expect Xiangling to be so famous in your area. Xiangling cooks almost all my meals in Liyue, so I don't really feel anything about it."

"You, you, you, I'll bite you to death, you wicked fox."

Su Bai never expected that his unintentional truth would cause Diona so much damage. Diona bared her two little tiger teeth and was about to bite Su Bai in Versailles.

Unfortunately, Diona, with her short arms and legs, miscalculated against Master Su, who had years of experience in catching early pomelos. Lifted into the air, Diona could only wave her short arms, trying to suffocate Su Bai by clearing away the air around him.

"Hey, Su Bai, what are you doing here?"

While Su Bai and Dulaf were chatting about the history of the Katzrhine family, Paimon suddenly appeared out of nowhere with a raspberry in her hand, followed by the chubby Guoba.

"Guoba, you seem to have gotten even rounder in just a few days."

Su Bai picked up Guoba and bounced it in his hands. He wondered what delicious food Xiangling had been feeding Guoba lately, as Guoba's weight had skyrocketed. The last time he met Xiangling, she complained to him that Guoba was too fat, and the little chair she had made especially for Guoba had collapsed under its weight.

"Lululu? Lululu!"

Guoba tilted its head and made a "lululu" sound, as if it knew nothing. Then it held the raspberries in its hand to Su Bai's mouth.

Without thinking much, Su Bai took a bite of the raspberry. The sour taste exploded in his mouth instantly. Seeing that Su Bai's features were all scrunched up by the sourness, Guoba immediately broke free from Su Bai's embrace.
