The dagger protruded from his chest, gleaming coldly in the sunlight. Although it pierced his heart, it did not draw a drop of blood.

This is a high-quality killing weapon.

"Loki!?" Thor yelled, his eyes wide. "What are you doing?"

A pale green light appeared, and a young man with a wicked smile slowly emerged.

---Aside---

Today is the summer solstice, the day with the longest daylight hours. I'm adding an extra chapter to show that my length is comparable to the sun's! o(*////▽////*)q

One more thing, there will be two more updates later, around midnight, so please don't wait up, dear readers.

Chapter 277 The Gods of Asgard... How terrifying! (Fourth update)

puff!

Loki flicked his wrist, pulling the dagger out with a sudden burst of blood.

"You...cough cough cough..." Cao Gui's eyes bulged, and blood from his heart rushed into his lungs, splashing out of his mouth and nose through his trachea.

Loki, the evil god?!

Why did he want to kill me?!

“I’m sorry, Midgardians.” Loki smiled wickedly, elegantly twirling his sword, and chuckled.

With a thud, Cao Gui collapsed to the ground, unconscious.

"Damn it, Loki, what are you doing!" Thor roared.

“He offended you, brother,” Loki said calmly, his smile unchanged, as he bent his arm to wipe the dagger, even though there was no blood on it.

“No, he’s a good man!” Thor clenched his fist.

"Oh? Is that so?" Loki flashed a green light and sheathed his dagger. "I'm very sorry, but the person is already dead. The heart was pierced, which is a fatal wound for a Midgardian. There's no way to save him."

"you……!"

“Brother, don’t be angry.” Loki patted his shoulder. “Perhaps he is a good person, just as you say, but he offended you, and that is unforgivable.”

“He didn’t offend me!” Thor said angrily.

“He shocked you with electricity; he is insulting the crown prince of Asgard.” Loki said solemnly, “The honor of Odin, the king of the gods, cannot be violated.”

“No, that’s not it, he… he’s my friend,” Thor quickly explained, flustered as his father was involved, but Loki wouldn’t listen.

“Brother, he’s just a Midgardian.” Loki shook his head. “He’s no match for the Crown Prince of Asgard.”

"Can……"

"Alright, alright, let's not talk about him anymore." Loki glanced at Cao Gui's corpse, then pressed Thor's shoulder, making him sit back down in his chair. "Are you going to fight me for him?"

“How could that be? You are my best brother, my only brother,” Thor said seriously.

"That's good." Loki's lips curled into a smile. "I just came from Asgard. Don't you want to hear why I'm here?"

Upon hearing this, Thor immediately forgot about Cao Gui and hurriedly asked, "By the way, why did you come to Midgard? Did Father send you?"

"Or is it about Jotunheim? I can explain, I know I was wrong."

Loki's smile quickly vanished, replaced by a grave expression. He said in a heavy tone, "I regret to inform you, brother, that Father is dead."

"Wh...what?" Thor's pupils dilated, and he became bewildered once again, tears welling up in his eyes.

"Your expulsion and the threat of the Jotunheim War have taken a toll on him... You know, he's not in good health."

Upon hearing this, Thor burst into tears.

“You don’t need to blame yourself, brother. This is our misfortune, not your fault.”

"Can I go home and see him?" Thor's Adam's apple bobbed as he spoke, his voice trembling.

"I'm sorry, the burden of the throne has fallen on my shoulders. As a condition for peace with Jotunheim, you will be banished forever."

"But please rest assured, you will always be the Crown Prince of Asgard. I will lead the kingdom to become stronger until we have the power to rightfully take you back."

"I'm so sorry, brother, for sending you so far from home," Loki said sincerely.

"No, I'm the one who should apologize," Thor said, covering his face in anguish.

Loki stood quietly. At this point, words of comfort were useless; he could only let Loki accept the situation on his own.

After a long pause, Loki spoke up: "Brother, you must live well. Only my mother and I are left at home. You are the person I love most now."

“I understand, Loki.” Thor sniffed and said seriously, “I will pull myself together.”

"That's wonderful, brother." Loki smiled slightly.

"It's so good to see you cheer up. You were just like this when you were a kid, never defeated, never giving up."

"Haha, Loki, you always ambushed me when we were kids, weren't you just as stubborn?" Thor laughed.

"Yeah, I still remember when I was 12, you hit me pretty hard and injured my left arm. It's still not healed, and I can't use much force." Loki touched his left elbow and said with some emotion. Thor back then was really... infuriating!

"Uh... I'm sorry." Thor scratched his head. "But it's not my fault. Who told you to keep poking my butt?"

“Brother, how wonderful it would be if you were king,” Loki said sincerely, pressing Thor’s shoulder.

“Loki, don’t say that.” Thor shook his head, patted him on the shoulder and said, “I believe you will be a good king.”

“I will, brother.” Loki nodded.

“Let’s go, I’ll take you out without alerting anyone here.” Loki reached out and placed his hand on Thor’s shoulder.

"Oh, by the way, your friend...do you need to dispose of his body?" Loki pointed to Cao Gui lying on the ground.

Thor looked at Cao Gui's corpse and slowly shook his head: "Forget it, let's leave it at that. Let his colleagues help."

"I'll listen to you, my brother." Loki smiled wickedly again, glanced at her indifferently, and turned to leave.

What a nuisance!

What a talkative fellow!

Under the cover of night outside the base, Loki used a trick to smuggle a car out, along with Jane's files.

"Brother, I should go now," Loki said as he drove the car to an open space under a sky full of stars.

"Take good care of Mother." Thor hugged Loki, reluctant to part with her.

“I will.” Loki nodded, raised his hand, and the golden Spear of Eternity appeared in his hand, which he slammed down on the ground.

A beam of seven-colored light shot down from the sky, enveloping Loki. Moments later, the Rainbow Bridge shrank back into space, carrying Loki away from Earth.

"Take care, brother." Thor's eyes were filled with sadness; the feeling of not being able to go home was truly painful for him.

After a moment of silence, Thor drove back to the town, where his friends were still. This was probably his only refuge in Midgard.

……

Inside a room at the S.H.I.E.L.D. base.

Cao Gui, pale-faced, got up from the ground, clutching his chest with his right hand. A faint golden light slowly seeped into his heart, repairing his damaged heart.

Princess Mansherry's character card; a user of the Healing Fruit.

Long ago, Cao Gui used this character card to heal Gwen, who was mutated. Now, this character card has saved his life again, repairing the heart that Loki pierced.

"Cough cough cough..."

Cao Gui suddenly coughed, and a faint splatter of blood spurted from the corner of his mouth. The stab had been very solid, piercing through his entire heart and lungs.

"Thor, Loki, the god of evil, the gods of Asgard... they're really terrifying!"

Cao Gui's eyes were gloomy. He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and slowly returned to his RV.

This isn't over yet!

Chapter 278 Six Asgardian Gods (Fifth Update)

A bonfire burned outside the town's guesthouse.

Jane and Thor, wearing coats, sat by the campfire to warm themselves.

New Mexico has sparse vegetation and sand with a low specific heat capacity, making it difficult to retain heat. It gets very hot when the sun is out and very cold when the sun is not out.

However, there is another advantage here: the air is very fresh and the night sky is very clear, which is refreshing and makes people feel good.

Especially when the person you admire is around.

Jane smiled. Although she didn't know what Thor had been through, since returning from the base, Thor had become less arrogant and more easygoing, making him even more captivating.

“When I can’t sleep, I come here and sit for a while,” Jane smiled, placing her hands above the flames to feel the warmth.

"Usually, it's either when I'm organizing particle data, or when that crazy woman Darcy drives me crazy."

“Darcy?” Thor tilted his head.

“Louise, the one who knocked you out with the stun gun.” Jane gave an embarrassed smile.

“Oh, it’s her.” Thor laughed. “Actually, it’s not her fault. That night, I had just arrived in Mjolnir and was a little out of sorts.”

“I’m glad you can forgive her,” Jane said with a smile. “She’s always been so reckless and offended you.”

“It’s alright, we’re friends. You’ve been very kind to me, and I’m very grateful,” Thor said with a smile. “Words can’t express how grateful I am to you.”

"Haha." Jane covered her mouth and chuckled, "I've hit you with my car a few times, so we're even."

"Okay, we're even now. You guys are genuinely good to me and didn't offend me."

"Speaking of which, how did you escape from there?" Jane asked curiously.

She was watching from a short distance when Thor was arrested, and she witnessed Thor being handcuffed.

“My brother brought me out,” Thor said with a smile.

"Your brother?"

"Yes, Loki."
