Immediately, everyone on the platform was drawn to the exclamation.
"God... is a new superhero!"
"Oh my god, it's Storm, the third female hero!"
"Storm Girl, may I take a picture with you?"
"..."
A large crowd surged forward. Storm's expression changed slightly, but she quickly put on a smile and greeted the crowd warmly, a skill that every superhero must possess.
"Take photos one by one, my friends, don't rush me." Storm Girl immediately let go of the Asian girl, turned around and started interacting with the public, even taking out her phone to live stream.
This whole operation left Butcher and his two companions completely bewildered. Was this woman really there to arrest someone?
"It seems she's a heroine who cares a lot about her image and reputation," the burly black man said.
“Perhaps she’s a good person, but this time she was forced by her own countrymen…” the Frenchman suggested another possibility.
“Bullshit! None of the superhumans are any good,” Butcher immediately retorted.
"They all deserve to die, including those two women!"
"Fuck you... Forget it, I'm too lazy to argue with you!" The Frenchman scratched his head anxiously.
"Let's go, finding that girl is the priority. This Storm Girl is a good person, we just need to avoid her."
As he spoke, he hurriedly ran towards the direction of the Asian girl.
"Damn it!" Butcher and the burly black man immediately followed.
On the other side, Cao Gui stroked his chin, looked at Storm Girl who was still live streaming, thought for a moment, and then followed the Asian girl in the direction she was going to grab her and find out what was going on.
Ring ring ring~
However, before Cao Gui could take a step, the phone in his pocket suddenly rang.
Cao Gui frowned, picked it up and saw that it was Maeve.
"What is it..." Cao Gui said impatiently.
"Damn, I've found out who those two people are!" Maeve said urgently on the other end of the phone.
"The bearded white man's name is William Butcher. His wife, Becca Butcher, joined Walter nine years ago to manage Homelander's social media accounts. She resigned a year later and then disappeared."
"There are no deaths, only disappearances."
"Oh?"
Cao Gui's impatience vanished instantly. It was actually related to the people of his motherland?
“It’s quite interesting…whether it’s onboarding or offboarding, Becca Butcher’s paperwork was handled by Stillwell,” Maeve said.
"What's wrong with this?" Cao Gui asked, puzzled.
“Steelville is the president of Waters, second only to the board of directors. She has no reason to do this personally.”
"You want to investigate this woman named Becca Butcher?"
"Yes, and I intend to start with Dr. Vogbaum."
Who is this person?
"The father of the Fatherland... or rather, the adoptive father of the Fatherland."

Chapter 352 Walter's Methods of Controlling Homelander
"Dr. Vogelbaum, PhD in Biology and Genetics..." In the passenger seat of the car, Cao Gui flipped through the slightly yellowed file in his hand, his brows furrowed slightly.
“Yes, Homelander was created by him.” Maeve’s tone was somewhat heavy. It was only when she pulled out the file that she realized Homelander was different from what she thought. Homelander was a test-tube baby, but this baby had not been injected with Compound V.
He was born with superpowers. His superpowers did not come from genes, but were innate. Perhaps his parents were superhuman, but in any case... Homelander is the most special one, unlike any of them.
Things have gone back to the way they were at the beginning...
Maeve drove the car, her face extremely grim. Because of this incident, her confidence in killing Homelander had plummeted to its lowest point. She didn't know if the two of them could do it.
“There’s one more thing,” Maeve continued, “That burly black man, named Breast Milk, his father’s death is related to the soldier boy. Perhaps that’s why they’re both investigating superhumans…”
"Soldier Boy?" Cao Gui was completely unfamiliar with this name... well, he had never heard of it at all.
“Homelander’s previous Vought-Garde superheroes, like the Seven, had a blood debtors’ team,” Maeve said.
"The Blood Debt Pays Off Squad..." Cao Gui's lips twitched. He understood. It was a pirated Avengers game.
I took out my phone and searched, and sure enough, a person wearing a military green Stars and Stripes uniform and a helmet like Captain America's appeared.
Cao Gui's lips twitched. If he were to shout "Long live Hydra" a couple of times, it would be very harmonious. This guy looks just like a Hydra captain.
As the two talked, they arrived at a luxurious villa on Long Island. On the spacious lawn, an old man was playing with a German Shepherd. He had sparse, gray hair, a large belly, and a somewhat hunched posture, looking no different from any other elderly person.
Hearing the car engine, the old man straightened up, looked around in confusion, and when he saw Maeve getting out, a look of realization dawned on his face. As for the tour room, he completely ignored it.
"Dr. Vogbaum."
“Queen Maeve, I thought John would arrive before you, but I was wrong,” the old man said, shrugging.
"John?"
Maeve frowned. Who was this person? And how did Dr. Vogbaum know I was coming?
“It’s Homelander. Come in. I know you have questions for me.” With that, Dr. Vogbaum turned and walked back to his luxurious villa.
Maeve and Cao Gui exchanged a glance. This old man... seemed a bit strange, but they didn't pay any attention to it and followed him directly into the villa.
Maeve came prepared to die; she had only one thought in mind: to kill Homelander.
Cao Gui... to be honest, he didn't believe there was any danger here that could threaten him.
Inside the villa, these photos hung on the pristine white walls: some of the old man with Homelander, some with Madeline, and some with Edgar—those were the true controllers of Walter.
Vogelbaum sat down on the sofa, made a packet of instant coffee, stirred it slowly, and said:
"I don't like playing word games with you. You're looking for me because of John, aren't you?"
Maeve nodded, making no attempt to hide her feelings: "Yes, I want to kill him."
The John that Dr. Vogbaum mentioned is Homelander, although Maeve doesn't know the origin of the name.
“From the moment Walter’s men took him away, I knew this day would come,” Vogbaum said, taking a sip of his coffee.
"One interesting thing about mixed-breed dogs is that if the genes are right, they can be perfect."
Dr. Vogelbaum explained: "But this perfection refers to appearance, to external traits. If the mixed-breed dog used as the experimental subject did not grow up with its mother, it would become violent, aggressive, and hateful."
Maeve frowned slightly, her gaze dark. Although Vogbaum was referring to his experimental subjects, she knew that Homelander was also one of them.
"I heard you and John are dating. He must have done a lot of things to hurt you, right?"
Maeve pursed her lips, her eyes flashing with hatred and anger, but in the end she said nothing, only took a deep breath and remained silent.
Cao Gui shrugged. "It's undeniable that one's family of origin has a significant impact on their development. If Patriot and Superman's upbringing were reversed, perhaps they could become each other."
But... what does this have to do with Cao Gui? Cao Gui is not God, and he doesn't need to redeem his believers and people.
In Cao Gui's eyes, Homelander was a giant experience pack, and what he was thinking about now was how to take him and Walter down together.
Moreover... someone needs to take responsibility for those 123 lives.
Vogelbaum continued, "While others may see me as having created the greatest superhero in the world, it was... the biggest mistake of my life."
Vogelbaum’s voice was low, his eyelids slightly lowered, as if he were confessing or complaining.
"Why are you telling us this?" Maeve asked, frowning.
“John is a powerful and unstable element…he needs to be eliminated.” Vogbaum’s Adam’s apple bobbed slightly. He paused, then, as if making a decision, his tone became firm:
"He has a child, the mother of Becca Butcher, and if anyone in the world could defeat John, it would be that child..."
Upon hearing this, Maeve's expression changed drastically. It turned out that Walter had already found a way to restrain Homelander, but it was not yet mature enough.
"Where is the address?" Cao Gui asked, frowning.
Vogbaum picked up a pen and paper, wrote down an address, and handed it to Maeve and Cao Gui. Then he said seriously, "John must not know about this, otherwise... there really will be no power in this world that can stand against him."
Maeve and Cao Gui exchanged a glance. Her original plan was to dig up some dirt on Homelander in order to make him bow down.
Of course, the video Cao found cannot be used; it's too damaging and would cause the Homelanders to completely lose control.
But unexpectedly, Maeve received such explosive news. For a moment, Maeve was at a loss. Should she continue to fight Homelander with all her might on her own, or... wait for that child to grow up?
"It's not like he has no dirt on him; at least you know about Homelander's affair with another man's wife," Cao Gui said, shrugging as he drove.
"Isn't finding the evidence enough?"
“I’m thinking… what choice should I make?” Maeve said with a wry smile. The child was only eight years old, and she would have to wait at least several more years.
She couldn't wait any longer; the Homelanders must die!
But... she wasn't confident she could kill Homelander. Maeve bit her finger, her mind in turmoil, unsure of what to do.
Seeing her expression, Cao Gui shrugged, knowing what she was thinking. However, if Maeve wanted to back out, Cao Gui would send her on her way first.
Having failed to kill Cao Gui out of his mind, Cao Gui did not want to reveal his identity so soon.
Rumble!
However, at that moment, a huge explosion suddenly rang out, the wall of an old apartment building by the roadside exploded, and a figure crashed down in front of Cao Gui and Maeve.
Cao Gui looked closely and realized it was the same Asian girl from before.
Cao Gui and Maeve's expressions changed. On the rooftop of the apartment, a black figure slowly floated over, riding on arcs of electricity.
It's Storm!
Maeve was taken aback. It was her! What was she doing here?
