The two knives pushed against each other with force, producing a sickening metallic scraping sound.

Cao Gui raised his sword and swung it forward again:

"One-Sword Style: Demon Slash!"

Cao Gui unleashed a familiar move, and with the vast amount of knowledge in his mind, perhaps he could integrate some of it.

With a whoosh, an aura emanated from the Blade Warrior. Facing Cao Gui's attack, the Blade Warrior also swung his blade, neither retreating nor yielding, choosing to meet force with force.

clang!

Sharp blades clashed, sparks flew.

A glint flashed in Cao Gui's eyes; his blade had developed a nick!

This knife was a gift from the system when I first joined the navy. It was essentially just an ordinary knife, not a particularly high-quality one.

But Cao Gui paid no attention to any of this. He stepped sideways and lunged forward, moving to the right front. Then, he twisted his waist and swung his long sword down:

"One-Sword Style: Demon Slash!"

Cao Gui unleashed his familiar move once again, demonstrating his mastery of it.

clang!

The Blade Warrior's blade was coated with a layer of crimson energy, once again blocking Cao Gui's slash.

“If you keep fighting like that, your knife will break!” Blade Warrior said in a deep voice, his eyes flashing with bloodlust behind his sunglasses.

Cao Gui ignored Blade Warrior's words, stepped back, and slashed out with his sword again:

"One-Sword Style: Demon Slash!"

"Idiot...wait?"

When he saw Cao Gui use the same move again, Blade Warrior smiled disdainfully, but when the blade fell, he realized something was wrong.

clang!

Clang!

The two blades clashed, and half of the blade spun and fell into the distance, leaving Cao Gui with only a broken blade in his hand.

Hiss hiss~

Several cuts instantly burst open on the Blade Runner's skin, and blood slowly seeped out.

Hey~

[Host has mastered swordsmanship. Congratulations on acquiring the new identity of "Swordsman". Reward: 50 Fine Swords - Shigure]

The system notification sounded in Cao Gui's mind, making him happy. So this was the correct way to use the character card.

Cao Gui's understanding of character cards has always been limited to flashy Devil Fruit abilities, to the point that he has forgotten the sparse knowledge that remained in his mind when he first used the character cards. If used properly, it might very well be a path to becoming stronger.

As the system's host, he couldn't become a swordsman like Zoro, but he could still learn a move or two from it.

"Your blade is broken, do you still want to continue?" The Blade Warrior's words brought Cao Gui back to his senses.

"Of course!"

Cao Gui smiled lightly and took out a knife from behind her back. It was long, thin, and light, a girl's knife. This was Tashigi's sword from the One Piece world.

"Let's do it again!"

The Blade Warrior's eyes flashed with blood-red light, and the crimson energy on the bright silver blade became even more intense.

Cao Gui slowly drew his sword. The long blade gleamed with a cold light. He raised the sword and lightly slashed, instantly leaving a thin mark on the ground. As expected of a famous sword, it was incredibly sharp.

"Come on!" Blade shouted softly.

Cao Gui's moves remain unchanged for years.

"One-Sword Style: Demon Slash!"

Clang!

Clang!

A section of the blade spun and flew into the distance, this time not Cao Gui, but Blade Warrior.

Shigure severed his sword, the blade stopping in front of the Blade Warrior's face. The sharp blade energy cut a small wound on his face, and blood slowly surfaced.

"Thank you for showing mercy." The Blade Warrior retracted the bat wings on his back and lowered the broken sword in his hand.

"No need, you have no intention of killing me." Cao Gui sheathed Shi Yu.

"You're not a vampire, I have no reason to kill you."

Blade shrugged and said casually, "I'm a vampire hunter, not an assassin."

He glanced at Bullseye's body not far away. He had originally intended to return to Los Angeles, but he inadvertently discovered that Bullseye was following a few teenagers. He wanted to help, but little did he know that his idea was unnecessary.

Cao Gui took out another knife from the [System Backpack] and handed it to Blade Warrior: "Here, take this knife as an apology, after all, I broke your knife just now."

Blade Warrior was taken aback, hesitated for a moment, and then reached out to take the knife that Cao Gui handed him.

Thank you.

"You're welcome."

Blade Warrior glanced at Cao Gui, then turned and left.

Cao Gui didn't care. Instead, he chuckled and looked at the Shiyu in his hand. It was a fine, fast sword, level 50. What a treasure!

Oh, you green moss head, your moves are mine, Tashigi's sword is mine, and rounding up, Tashigi is mine too. You truly deserve to be called the green moss head.

Thinking of this, Cao Gui couldn't help but smack his lips, secretly lamenting how wonderful it would be if he could go to the One Piece world, where he could meet the adorable and slightly chubby Tashigi.

Of course, Marvel is good too. Cao Gui composed himself and walked towards Bullseye's corpse. He needed to tidy it up; Gwen and the others should be waking up soon.

Chapter 50 Treasure Acquired

"Eee-ah~~"

Gwen regained consciousness in the pit in the garage.

Damn it! Who is it? I'm going to kill him... Huh?

Gwen turned her head and saw that it was Cao Gui. Her pretty face flushed red. This dead man, he's still like this even when he's asleep!

Gwen carefully pinched Cao Gui's fingers, trying to remove his hand, but unexpectedly, the involuntary contraction of his muscles and nerves caused Cao Gui's ten fingers to unconsciously clench in his sleep.

Cao Gui swore that he was still asleep, and that all of this was the transmission of physiological electrical signals from the deep consciousness of the brain, and had nothing to do with him.

"Hmm~"

On the other side, Beth groaned softly, then turned over, seemingly waking up soon.

Gwen was startled. In private, she wouldn't mind Cao Gui's actions, but now there were five people... four, wait? How did Harry get up there?

No, this isn't the time to think about that. Gwen quickly used her strength to pry Cao Gui's mischievous hand away, finally removing it before Beth could open her eyes.

"Gwen?" Beth rubbed her eyes. "What happened? Why were we all asleep?"

"I don't know either?"

Gwen took a deep breath and patted her cheeks, trying to get rid of the blush on her face as quickly as possible.

Beth looked at her and asked in confusion:

Why is your face red?

"Cough...it's nothing." Gwen changed the subject: "Let's wake up the others."

“…Okay.” Beth was puzzled but didn’t care. She patted Lucy and woke her up.

Gwen patted Cao Gui on the shoulder, and Cao Gui yawned, opening his eyes wide: "Gwen? How did we end up sleeping together?"

Gwen: "..."

Terrible conversation.

“It’s not just Gwen, it’s us too,” Lucy said from the side. “The three of us are sleeping together now.”

Gwen: "..."

An even worse conversation.

"Uh... well, I'll go up and wake Harry up, you guys dig out the money."

Seeing that Gwen's expression was off, Cao Gui immediately made an excuse to leave. He could do something underhanded, but not in front of Gwen.

"OK, go ahead."

Cao Gui nimbly climbed out of the pit, woke Harry, and restored everything to its original state, so as not to arouse suspicion.

Of course, Cao Gui was powerless to fix the damaged doorway, so he could only dismantle it completely to make it look like there was no door at all.

Whether Gwen and the others believed it or not, Cao Gui didn't know, but he believed it anyway.

In the pit, Lucy picked up a large pile of money and placed it on the ground: "Guys, what just happened? Why were we all asleep?"

“Yeah.” Harry frowned. “I think only Cao was digging the pit, and he even pulled us all in. Why did we all fall asleep all of a sudden?”

“That’s why we fell asleep.” Beth pulled a small jar from the pit: “I just smelled it, and it’s filled with ether, so we all fell asleep.”

They had taken chemistry classes and knew about some chemical substances.

"Did DB Cooper leave this behind?" Gwen asked, puzzled.

"I didn't drag you guys into this mess," Cao Gui said sincerely. "Besides, only we're in the mess, Harry, you're not."

“That makes sense…” Lucy stroked her chin and said, “So, does that mean this can of ether really was left by DB Cooper?”

"Very likely," Cao Gui analyzed seriously.

"It makes perfect sense for the person who buried the treasure to leave behind protective mechanisms!"

"Yes, that makes sense." The four nodded hesitantly, though they were somewhat puzzled, but it seemed to be the only explanation.

During the conversation, bundles of banknotes were thrown out of the pit by Gwen and her two friends, and the banknotes in front of them had already piled up to half a meter high.

"My goodness!" exclaimed Beth, the financial capitalist, looking at the cone-shaped pile of dollars.
