The "Great Compassion Palm" is considered a basic martial art in Buddhism, also known as the Great Compassion Palm. As a foundational palm technique in Buddhism, it has its own mysteries, but its lethality is very low, and it is more like a palm technique mainly used to subdue people.
From Chu Luren's perspective, it's just right to lay the foundation for Buddhist martial arts practitioners.
After all, more advanced Buddhist martial arts require a certain "mental character," and ordinary young monks, when practicing martial arts, are bound to be hot-blooded and prone to competitiveness. However, the Great Compassion Palm is devoid of any violence, and while practicing martial arts, it also tempers one's character.
But... Chu Luren had never seen such a powerful and visually stunning Great Compassion Palm before!
However, "he" chose the wrong opponent!
The Great Compassion Palm has little effect on those who do not resist. On the contrary, the more ruthless the opponent is, the easier it is for them to be injured. But the Dao Embryo... does not move at all.
Not only is it highly defensive, but it also... will never retaliate.
A powerful palm strike landed on the Dao Embryo, but was instantly annihilated. Then, the Buddhist monk clasped his hands together in a Buddhist salute. At the same time, waves of flames surged forth from his own body!
However, no matter how much the Buddhist fire burned, the Dao Embryo remained motionless—Little Red True Qi was heat-resistant and could withstand high temperatures, and the Dao Embryo's spiritual sense was unusually calm, without any killing intent, so it would not be further harmed by the Buddhist fire.
Then, the monk Foguang bowed to the Daotai again, and a powerful palm force that shook the earth condensed into a golden palm shape, which descended from the sky with an asterisk in the palm.
As Chu Luren struck the Dao Embryo within the illusion, he instantly realized that this move was also the Great Compassion Palm—if the Dao Embryo had attacked first, the power of this palm strike would have been even greater.
All three moves originated from the "Great Compassion Palm," but their power was so astonishing that if Chu Luren hadn't naturally grasped the martial arts behind them after enduring them, he wouldn't have been able to tell that it was the Great Compassion Palm.
Then, after the monk with the Buddha-light bowed and dispersed, another monk appeared, looking even more robust and also surrounded by gold. Compared to the previous one, this one seemed to be truly golden all over; it was no longer just golden light, but rather somewhat like the transformation of the "Indestructible Vajra Divine Skill," except that he had no hair...
At the same time, the words "Māne" flashed briefly.
The Buddha-light Arhat suddenly turned angry—although his face was not clearly visible, it was clear that he was very angry—and immediately struck the Dao Embryo with a palm technique of spiritual power.
The Dao Embryo... remained motionless.
Chu Luren instantly understood this palm strike—the Vajra Palm!
The Buddhist palm technique, which is not particularly profound, takes its name from the indestructible and incorruptible Vajra, and is a powerful and unyielding palm technique that is unmoved by external things.
Shaolin also has a higher level of "Prajna Vajra Palm" that is studied in the Prajna Hall. It is also called "Great Vajra Palm". This is a truly profound palm technique of Buddhism. Abbot Xuanci of the Southern Shaolin is famous for "Great Vajra Palm" and is the person who has mastered the power of Great Vajra Palm the most in the past hundred years.
However, from the Buddha Arhat's palm strike, Chu Luren only comprehended the "Vajra Palm"—Chu Luren was quite annoyed by this. Was that Buddhist master doing it on purpose? The martial arts he comprehended and the trials he underwent were completely different in level!
If it weren't for the special spiritual perception of the Daoist embryo, an ordinary martial artist would inevitably retaliate. And once they retaliate, or harbor murderous intent, the difficulty of the first three "Great Compassion Palms" would increase exponentially.
I'm afraid even an ordinary master wouldn't be able to withstand it!
This Vajra Palm technique is also like that...
If Chu Luren had used mental manipulation techniques on his opponent, or even if he had only been malicious, the mental shock from that attack would have been much stronger. Fortunately... for a Dao Embryo, none of that applies.
This also perfectly aligns with the test left behind by Buddhist masters—a tranquil mind.
The fifth move: the Buddha and Arhats merged and pounced, their physical bodies striking the Dao Embryo with a single palm strike...
The sixth move, the Vajra Palm, transforms the palm force into a sword forged from Vajra, seemingly capable of piercing through all evil...
However, both of his consecutive blows were withstood unharmed by Dao Embryo.
Firstly, the Dao Embryo truly had no evil intentions. Even when struck head-on by a palm, it had no distracting thoughts, hostility, or counterattack, causing the opponent's palm technique to exert only its minimum power. Secondly, the Dao Embryo's defensive capabilities were also truly high!
After three more moves, Chu Luren's understanding of the "Vajra Palm" had reached a level of unparalleled mastery.
Then the Buddha-light Arhat disappeared, and amidst the bursts of Buddha-light, a figure emerged with a halo of eternal light behind him, exuding an aura of peace and purity.
The two characters “ba mi” also flashed briefly.
The Buddha-light Bodhisattva, after joining his palms in a Buddhist salute, seemed to transform into countless hands as he waved them...
Then, these countless hands merged into one, transforming into a blade that slashed towards the Dao Embryo!
This time, even Chu Luren himself had guessed what kind of palm technique it was...
Sure enough, after the Dao Embryo withstood the attack, Chu Luren realized the essence of the "Thousand Leaf Hand"—it was another palm technique that wasn't particularly profound. Its advanced form, the "Buddha's Thousand Hand Palm," was the true Shaolin tradition. Fang Zheng of the Northern Shaolin had mastered the "Buddha's Thousand Hand Palm."
As for "Vajra Palm" and "Thousand Leaf Hand", many lay disciples can learn them.
However, this one palm strike made Chu Luren feel very different. This "sword" did not seem to be aimed at destroying the Dao Embryo, but rather it seemed to be persuading the Dao Embryo to "lay down the butcher's knife".
Since the Dao Embryo hadn't raised its sword, it naturally only withstood the minimum amount of palm force, managing to withstand the attack through its own defenses.
The eighth move: Buddha Light Bodhisattva manifested a thousand hands, unleashing countless ever-changing palm strikes from all directions towards the Dao Embryo...
The ninth move was when the opponent transformed into countless clones, creating a dazzling array of afterimages that simultaneously converged with the Dao Embryo!
Both moves were powerful and impressive, and... each had its own specific target!
However, what they were targeting had nothing to do with the Dao Embryo. The Dao Embryo's spiritual senses were pure spirits, and they would only ever bear the minimum damage from the palm techniques, thus enduring it all.
then……
As the Buddha's light and Bodhisattva's presence dissipated, amidst countless chantings and adorned with radiant Buddha's light and falling celestial flowers, a figure seated on a lotus platform with spiral-shaped hair materialized!
Chapter 516 Tathagata Palm
Within the illusion of the Six-Syllable Mantra in the Dou Sheng Cave, the Dao Embryo faces the Great Buddha of Light...
Dao Tai Ling Jue remained calm, but Chu Lu Ren's intelligence sensed a threat, and at the same time... also sensed a slight discord—although Chu Lu Ren's martial arts skills were certainly not as good as the Buddhist master who left behind these six words of truth, Chu Lu Ren still instinctively felt that this should be the last move, and... this move was incomplete.
Even the flickering "Hum" syllable was dimmer than the previous three times.
This Buddha statue is indeed magnificent and extraordinary, but even to the Chu Lu people, its overall aura has some shortcomings.
This is clearly the other party's level, which they haven't reached yet, but they've forcibly simulated it, so it's somewhat similar but not quite the same.
The Buddha's body trembled, and its will seemed to transcend its body. First, a phantom image that had expanded countless times appeared on the lotus platform it sat on. Then, the Buddha's body dimmed, and then a huge Buddha image that matched the phantom image of the lotus platform appeared, and it struck the Dao Embryo Seal with a palm from top to bottom.
Even the minimum power caused the Dao Embryo to feel pressure, and it was already on the verge of "stirring the embryonic energy".
The Buddha's palm struck, yet the Dao Embryo remained motionless. However, the ground within the illusion, centered on the Dao Embryo, began to collapse in concentric circles. The air began to tremble more violently in circles, and the entire illusion gradually crumbled under this palm strike...
The Dao Embryo felt the pressure, but because the meaning of this final move was not perfect, the illusion collapsed before the Dao Embryo!
From God's perspective, the Chu Lu people's consciousness gradually emerged from the illusion.
At the same time, the final tenth move also contained a set of palm techniques that filled Chu Luren's heart—the Prajna Palm!
Compared to the "Great Compassion Palm", "Vajra Palm" and "Thousand Leaf Hand", there is finally a palm technique that can be considered profound, a martial art that Prajna Hall has meticulously studied.
However, compared to the power displayed in the illusion, this "Prajna Palm" clearly seems somewhat weak...
Of course, Chu Luren not only acquired four palm techniques, but more importantly, he directly faced the essence of the illusion and comprehended the "momentum" within it. The perfectly matched "momentum" and "technique" will surely unleash even greater power.
Even with these newly grasped "forces," Chu Luren has already reached a basic level of understanding; however, compared to the power he displayed in the illusion, it is certainly still far from sufficient...
There were ten moves in total. In the first nine moves, Chu Luren comprehended nine kinds of power. In the tenth move, he initially comprehended a kind of "mind" - the current Dao Embryo is good at comprehending "power" and "mind"!
As for the tenth move, it is incomplete. Chu Luren is unsure whether the Buddhist master failed to comprehend it or, even after comprehension, failed to reach the level where it could remain within the martial will.
More importantly, the four palm techniques, nine "forces," and one "mind" and their corresponding runes are tightly bound together in the consciousness of Chu Luren, almost as if they are about to jump up and shout, "Quickly merge with me!"
Chu Luren naturally followed suit, and before his consciousness had fully recovered from the collapse, he half-asleep and half-awake fused all fourteen runes together...
Buddha's Palm!
The combination of "technique," "momentum," and "mindset" makes it a supreme palm technique.
Just like in the illusion, there were ten moves in total. Chu Luren suspected that the Buddhist master had also comprehended the Tathagata Palm from these three basic and one advanced palm techniques.
If it weren't for the special nature of the Dao Embryo, ordinary martial artists, even peerless masters, would have to meet the requirements of the Tathagata Palm in terms of their mental state in order to have a chance to survive.
and……
Even a martial arts prodigy's initial understanding should be what Chu Luren initially grasped—the four palm techniques, nine "postures," and one "mindset," rather than the complete "Buddha's Palm."
You must understand it yourself in order to achieve true unity!
Om Mani Padme Hum. It seems that the Buddhist master's interpretation of the six-syllable mantra is actually the original meaning—the Great Compassion Palm corresponds to "Om," representing oneness with the Buddha; the Vajra Palm corresponds to "Mani," representing the wish-fulfilling jewel; the Thousand-Petaled Hand corresponds to "Padme," representing the lotus; and the Prajna Palm corresponds to "Hum," representing my intention to attain Buddhahood…
Of the ten moves, the first nine moves correspond to a set of palm techniques in three moves each, and the last move corresponds to the Prajna Palm.
The name also gave Chu Luren a strong sense of déjà vu...
The first move is the first appearance of Buddha's light, the second move is the golden Buddha lamp on the top, the third move is the Buddha moving mountains and rivers... the ninth move is the homage of ten thousand Buddhas, and the last move is the sacrifice to become a Buddha—the last move is not quite perfect.
In terms of strength, it is still above the "Dragon Turtle Force" of Chu Luren. However, its power fluctuates greatly and requires the coordination of "momentum" and "mind". Naturally, the threshold for using it is higher and the effect fluctuates greatly.
However, Chu Luren's current understanding of the "Buddha's Palm" is almost entirely what he cleverly extracted when the Dao Embryo directly faced the "Six-Character Mantra." Compared to ordinary monks, he is definitely at the level of a high monk or holy monk. However, compared to the Buddhist master who left the "Six-Character Mantra" in the Dou Sheng Cave back then, he is far inferior.
Even if both were combined in terms of skill level, Chu Luren's "Buddha's Palm" would still be significantly inferior...
Even so, this is the strongest move that Chu Luren currently possesses—especially when the opponent has strong malice.
Chu Luren's consciousness gradually returned, but at that moment, he suddenly felt a surge of fighting spirit welling up from his heart. Instantly, Chu Luren had an impulse to bring out Iron-Blooded Marquis and the leader of the Four Spirits and fight them both at once!
……
From Lianxing's perspective "outside," the "Six-Syllable Mantra" burst into golden light after Chu Lang uttered some very nice words, and then shattered!
Just like the sword inscription of repentance, it was completely detonated by Chu Luren. Therefore, even the Fighting Spirit Ape, who deliberately ignored the "six-word mantra," was instantly infected and let out a series of miserable screams in unwillingness.
Just then, the leader of the Four Spirits burst in with a burst of wild laughter...
"Hahaha, heaven is on my side! It seems the wicked heavens have allowed me to also acquire the 'Fighting Ape Ultimate Technique,' hehe... and incidentally, it also came with a beautiful woman and the second-ranked chamber pot on the Heavenly Ranking..."
The leader of the Four Spirits didn't actually know what had happened. He only heard the screams of the Fighting Holy Ape and guessed that something had gone wrong. So he rushed in and started spewing nonsense to disturb people's peace of mind.
If you guess wrong, just turn around and run!
Sure enough, upon entering, they found Chu Luren sitting cross-legged on the ground, bleeding from his seven orifices, while the Fighting Spirit Ape was also pinned down, its body prostrate on the ground, seemingly unable to move.
However, to the surprise of the leader of the Four Spirits, Lianxing, who was seriously injured before, recovered from her injuries so quickly that she was able to fight him normally!
The leader of the Four Spirits is confident that he can defeat Lianxing in three to five hundred moves, but if Lianxing is determined to leave, he may not be able to stop her.
Therefore, after a hundred moves, the leader of the Four Spirits gained the advantage and immediately took the opportunity to launch a sneak attack on the seated Chu Luren!
Firstly, it was to distract Lianxing, and secondly... it was also to prevent Lianxing from escaping.
As expected, in order to protect this kid, Lianxing was constantly restrained and her moves were in disarray, while the leader of the Four Spirits became increasingly smug and spewed out trash talk.
Just as Lianxing was in grave danger, and the leader of the Four Spirits was about to attack Chu Luren...
The "Six-Syllable Mantra" suddenly went out completely, and in its place, Chu Luren's whole body shone with golden light. The blood that had been flowing from his seven orifices was now flowing back in the golden light. His originally painful and ferocious expression became quiet and peaceful!
Chapter 517 The Ultimate Fighting Ape
Seeing Chu Luren's body radiate golden light, and the blood that had been gushing from his seven orifices actually flowed back, and his originally painful and ferocious expression became calm and peaceful, the experienced leader of the Four Spirits instinctively sensed something was wrong!
