"Hello, Qianyu-kun, what's up?" A familiar voice came from the other end of the phone.

"I want to... ask some questions about Tohka," Qianyu said quietly, picking up her cup and taking a sip of water.

"There are some things you'll need to ask her yourself. She's about to leave the city, so you'd better hurry!"

"Really... I understand, I'll go right away!" A scene suddenly flashed into her mind, and recalling her cold words when she rejected Tohka, Asahi couldn't help but feel a lump in her throat, and said with a smile.

"Okay, I have to go now, bye!"

"Bye-Bye……"

After hanging up the phone, I couldn't help but rub my slightly moist eyes. Honestly, I'm an adult, why do I still act like a little kid!

I hailed a taxi using Didi. Once inside, I saw several elaborately decorated cars on the road. These must be the wedding cars for the wedding! My thoughts drifted further and further away.

The driver's voice interrupted Qianyu's thoughts. After paying the fare of thirty yuan and getting off the car, Qianyu felt an urge to turn around and leave as she got closer to the airport. Sure enough, she was still so cowardly!

With these thoughts in mind, Qianyu slowly approached the road. Once she crossed this road, the next stop would be the airport, and there she was, but she felt her steps growing heavier and heavier.

I looked at the road and saw that the light was red, with about ten seconds left before the green light.

The little girl standing next to Qianyu seemed to have discovered something interesting after seeing Qianyu. She circled around Qianyu a few times before looking at her and smiling.

"Big brother, how old are you? Stop crying, shame on you!" The little girl looked at Qianyu with a smile, clutching her doll. The woman next to her frowned and gently tapped the little girl's head. "Big brother, you must have sand in your eyes. It's very impolite of you to say that!"

Qianyu's lips twitched, and her liking for this woman increased slightly.

As the red light turned green, Qianyu slowly prepared to cross to the other side. The woman seemed to receive a phone call and didn't see the little girl following Qianyu across the road out of curiosity.

As she reached the center, several screams suddenly erupted from the crowd, which scattered frantically in all directions. Once the crowd dispersed, Qianyu saw a car swaying and speeding past her.

Time seemed to stand still. Qianyu reacted quickly and prepared to run away, but when she turned around, she saw the little girl standing there with a blank expression.

It seemed like a long time had passed before Qianyu gritted her teeth, looked at the car that was right in front of her, and gently pushed the little girl with both hands.

And shallow words...

Thud...thud!

At the moment she was knocked down, Qianyu felt no fear, but rather a sense of relief. The face of that person appeared before her eyes. Heh, I'm afraid we'll never meet again. If there's a next life, I hope you can wait for me!

Qianyu hadn't expected to save that little girl; perhaps it was just his kindness acting up. Everyone has a kind heart, even if Qianyu had hidden it with his wicked nature...

"Mom...Mommy, what happened to big brother? There's so much blood!" The little girl was picked up by her mother, tugging at the woman's clothes, looking at the man covered in bright red blood with a confused expression, and asked.

"It's alright, the big brother is just asleep, let's go home!" The woman smiled as she looked at Qianyu, whose blood was still flowing from the ground, without any fear. She carried the little girl away while dialing a phone, her voice coming through intermittently.

"Young Miss... the mission is complete..."

…………

Airport waiting area.

A woman slowly stirred her drink, glanced at the time, looked out at the empty room, and a bitter smile appeared on her face...

"Perhaps, we will never see each other again..."

The woman stirred her drink with some irritation, then turned to look out the window. Through the window, she could clearly see a large group of people outside, doing something she couldn't quite make out. However, the glass was soundproof, so she couldn't hear any of the noise outside.

"Why does my heart hurt a little?!" The woman touched her chest, a strange emotion spreading through her...

Volume 4 Love Postcards

Prologue: Amnesia

It felt like I was being slowly pulled ashore from the water, and my consciousness gradually returned.

An unsettling sensation slowly spread from my feet, pressing against my chest, choking my throat, sweeping across my cheeks, and then prying open my eyelids. Finally, as if replacing the original darkness, the dim ceiling steadily filled my field of vision.

I saw patterns resembling quarter marks scattered across the unfamiliar ceiling, and felt the hard, unyielding touch of a pillow behind my head. I seemed to be lying in bed. The hard mattress beneath me, the rubbing sheets, and the barely perceptible politeness of the room towards strangers—none of these gave me a sense of familiarity.

...What place is this?

The first question that came to my mind was this...

Where am I?

My doubts instantly turned into fear, causing me to sit up reflexively.

—It feels so heavy…

However, I only felt half as high as I actually was. It was as if I was submerged in mucus; every movement was sluggish and heavy. Even so, I desperately looked around, searching for clues. It was a narrow room; the bed was against the wall to the left, and to the right, there was a folding chair and a cabinet with a vase. And then… a large window and curtains fluttering in the wind… and a washbasin in the corner of the room…?

Is this a hospital ward? Why? Why am I in a place like this?

A chill ran through my body, and fear fueled my malfunctioning form, causing me to sit up abruptly. How terrifying! Why? Why am I in a hospital? I don't know, I can't remember anything. How terrifying, how terrifying, how terrifying! Someone help…

—Click.

Someone, please save me… Just as I was about to scream, someone actually opened the door to the ward, which nearly made my heart stop. A hoarse scream escaped my throat, and unable to move, I could only turn my eyes and look towards the doorway.

—Eeeee.

The door opened slowly. Whether it was to avoid waking the people inside or to prevent them from noticing, the door opened very quietly.

The light from the hallway streamed in, illuminating the figure of the person who opened the door. It was a young girl, dressed in a sailor uniform, with long, straight hair that cascaded down to her waist like ink. After closing the door, the girl expertly pressed the light switch on the wall.

"uh"

Caught off guard, the sudden illumination made me pause in thought.

"--well?"

A few seconds later, I heard the girl seem to gasp. It was a slightly nasal, hoarse voice that slid into my eardrums, like a tickling sensation on the inside of my heart.

...What beautiful eyes!

I know such feelings are very inappropriate, but these words just come to mind.

Snow-white skin, a straight nose, rosy lips, a pointed chin, and a slender neck… every element that could be considered beautiful was embodied in this young woman. Despite all her many striking features, what I found most irresistible were her eyes. Those eyes were so clear and dreamlike, it seemed that a single second of eye contact would plunge one into an irrevocably deep love. The girl gazed at me with those eyes, her gaze yearning and longing. And with a trembling voice, she cried out…

"brother"

"...Huh?"

What did she just say?

"Brother...you've finally woken up...?"

A thin film of tears covered her brown eyes. The girl's slender body trembled.

"elder brother----!"

In the next instant, the girl was lifted into the air.

"What?"

...No way. My body isn't flexible enough to move properly yet, so I could only watch helplessly as the girl flew towards me like a cannonball, and then...

I experienced an incredibly violent impact throughout my body.

"Brother, brother, brother... brother!"

"What? What? Hey, uh, uh waaaah!"

The impact of the fall hadn't subsided when this mysterious girl, on the verge of tears, pressed her face against my neck. What was she doing all of a sudden? A sense of panic washed over me, and I tried to shake her off but couldn't muster the strength.

"That's great, that's great! Brother, you've finally woken up. I thought you'd never wake up again. Are you alright? Does anything hurt?"

Yes. My collarbone, ribs, abdomen, and lumbar spine—everywhere you bumped into me hurts.

"Oh no, oh no! Brother, I'm so sorry!"

She seemed to finally realize that the person she was lying on was a hospitalized patient, and rolled off the bed as if she had fallen.

"Ah ah!"

As a result, she fell hard on her bottom onto the tiled floor.

"Ouch... Brother, are you alright? I'll go get Dr. Miyazaki right away!"

The mysterious girl, rubbing her bottom and with tears in her eyes, rushed out of the ward.

"Hey, wait a minute! Who are you—"

"Brother, don't fall asleep! Stay awake! Keep your eyes open and wait for me!"

The girl poked her head through the crack in the door, gave her some instructions, and then ran off quickly.

"Ouch!" — Loud thud!

Not long after, the sound of an impact, like that in the comics, echoed down the corridor.

"Ouch!" —Thud!

...And it happened again.

"Ah—!" —Thud!

...It's so noisy, honestly. How many times are you going to fall over such a short distance?

"What's wrong with that girl...?"

I stared blankly at the half-open door and muttered something to myself.

She jumped up, screamed, then fell down, and started running again, crashing around like a typhoon. Why was my heart pounding so hard? Was it because I'd been inexplicably transported to a strange place? Or was it because a beautiful, complete stranger had suddenly grabbed me?

"What exactly happened?"

I couldn't help but mutter to myself again. Where am I? What's wrong with me? Forgotten fears began to resurface.

I wiped the sweat from my forehead, desperately trying to calm myself down and not panic. I tried to look around again, this time managing to stay calm. I was sure this was a hospital room, not a large hospital, more like a private clinic… Was I injured?

I spread my fingers and felt all over my body, but there was nowhere that hurt. I threw back the covers and nervously put my feet on the ground. Right foot, left foot, I slowly shifted my weight onto them. Okay, no problem, I can walk.

Thanks to the stimulation from that mysterious girl, both inside and out, my senses have largely returned. In short, judging by this, I must have slept for quite a long time. I habitually wanted a drink of water, so I went to the sink. After placing my hands on the sink, I made eye contact with a strange man.

"--Wow!"

I yelled and backed away, and the man also staggered backward.
