"Wow!" Everyone who saw this felt a sharp pain in their cheek.
"That really hurt." Thor touched his face and began to feel grateful that Diana had only hit the back of his head on the sea cliff, instead of his face making intimate contact with it.
"If anyone were to seduce her, I'm afraid she'd slap them to death." Tony looked through his binoculars at the area around Hercules's body, which was embedded in the ground, which was riddled with cracks of all sizes.
Thor, standing to the side, swallowed hard, looking at Hercules' miserable state and then at his own physique.
I can only say, hopefully he won't be crippled.
"Dude, you're not thinking of hitting on her, are you?" Tony noticed Thor's embarrassment and patted Thor's arm. "You'd better think this through. This is about your happiness in every sense of the word. But she's unlikely to date you."
Thor initially thought Tony's words were somewhat agreeable, but upon hearing that Diana wouldn't date him, he became somewhat confused: "Why? Am I not handsome enough? Or not strong enough?"
"You're not as strong as her, the protagonist of Shocking Point." Tony calmly stated this cruel truth.
Thor had nothing to say, since everyone tacitly understood this point.
In every respect, Thor could not compare to Diana.
Those who are better than Diana are probably all old men, and she has no interest in them; those who are not as good as Diana have no reason to win this woman's heart.
At least that's what Thor thinks.
"Besides, I don't think she would like many people much younger than herself." Tony shrugged. To be honest, there's practically no one on Earth right now who is older than Diana.
Diana flew over, carrying the unconscious Hercules.
"Boom!"
He casually tossed Hercules to the ground, and the sound of that movement was enough to make anyone wince.
“Alright, that’s settled for now. Next…” Diana smiled slightly at Thor, “we should deal with what you said earlier, Thor Odinson.”
“Oh please…” Thor looked at Diana and felt as if a burning flame was rising behind her, ready to turn him into ashes at any moment.
Chapter 60 The Quiet Room of the Insightful
"Good luck." Tony wisely dragged Rhodes away from Thor and quickly organized the surrounding civilians to evacuate, as another battle was about to break out.
Although the most likely scenario is that I'll be beaten up by Diana, it's better to avoid getting splattered with blood.
After Tony and Rhodes together led the onlookers away, Thor knew he was in for a beating.
"I mean, can we... without slapping her in the face?" Thor said to Diana with a slightly embarrassed smile.
Diana raised an eyebrow and said, "We'll see."
Tony and Rhodes, who were already far away, could roughly guess what kind of beating Thor was suffering just by listening to the huge noise coming from there.
"Dude, you'd better stay away from women like that in the future." Tony punched Rhodes on the shoulder.
"Shouldn't I be the one saying this to you?" Rhodes looked at the man beside him in disbelief. How could the notorious playboy of America say such a thing?
Is the general principle when dealing with women like Diana that it's best not to let them go?
“I don’t think I’m as muscular as the Washington Monument,” Tony shrugged. “Besides, I’m going to have a proper relationship and these kinds of problems won’t happen again.”
Rhodes nodded at first, then noticed that his friend had said something that would put countless tabloids out of work: "Wait, you're saying you want to have a proper relationship? Tell me, not that woman over there, right?"
Tony rolled his eyes at Rhodes: "I think any sane Earthling would understand the difference between himself and that woman. At most, there's no reproductive barrier between us."
“That’s Pepper.” Rhodes ignored the nonsensical things Tony was saying; he was just seriously considering who had the ability to make Tony settle down.
The only person who didn't force him to submit was Pepper Potts, the woman who had been by Tony Stark's side the longest.
"How did you know that?" Tony asked, somewhat shocked. "How could someone who didn't even go to MIT be so perceptive in this area?"
"Sorry, it's a real problem that I didn't get into MIT." Rhodes was somewhat speechless. Since when did not getting into MIT become a target of criticism?
"Do you really think everyone's blind about your relationship with Pepper? You two are just like those teenagers going through puberty, I even saw this kind of trick in elementary school." Rhodes seriously criticized Tony and Pepper's awkward expression of affection.
“Well, I thought you had some extraordinary insight into this area.” Tony would never admit that his relationship with Pepper was that obvious.
Rhodes didn't want to say anything, he just chuckled a few times.
The two of them stopped talking about it and just stared blankly at the spot where Thor had been beaten.
"Is it that obvious?" Tony quietly asked Rhodes.
"Only a blind person can't see it."
As soon as Rhodes said those words, Tony understood that everyone around him understood, except that he had never faced his own heart.
In the distance, the purgatory that Diana had bestowed upon Thor gradually fell silent.
Tony and Rod exchanged a glance and walked towards that place.
"Finally, that was a pretty good fight." Diana sat on a rock that had been smashed out of the ground, smiling as she looked at Thor lying in the crater.
At least, that's the scene that Tony and Rod saw.
The beauty sits serenely, while the hero lies buried in the earth.
"Help me." Thor felt as if all the bones in his body were shattered at the bottom of the pit. What was even more unacceptable to him was that he was no match for Diana in terms of physical strength.
As for divine power, Mjolnir stopped obeying his summons when Diana beat him.
Now he can only appeal to the two Midgards for help.
Tony looked at Thor, who now had a thorough understanding of the scent of Washington soil, and laughed, "Looks like you're going to really understand what this land tastes like now."
"Let's get him out of here first." Rhodes didn't intend to mock Thor, since the person who beat him was a ruthless man who had just demolished the Washington Monument and the Senate.
"OK, OK."
The two men walked up to Thor, each grabbing one of his arms and pulling him outwards with all their might.
It's like two rabbits working together to pull a giant carrot out of the ground.
After a great deal of effort, they finally managed to drag Thor out of Washington's soil.
"I will never do this kind of work again." Rod felt like he had used up all his strength to barely drag the guy out of the ground.
Tony agreed with what Rhodes said and even wanted to give Rhodes a thumbs up.
Thor on the ground really had a lot to say but didn't know whether to say it or not. He was the one who got beaten up and was the most seriously injured, okay?
Who would have thought that when Diana hit herself, it was purely for the sake of hitting?
He immediately swept his leg, knocking himself down, and at the same time, pressed his hand against his face and slammed it hard onto the ground.
What followed was a brutal and inhumane self-torture.
Just slap yourself in the face.
"You promised not to hit my face?" Thor lay on the ground, slowly turning his head to look at the beautiful Diana standing alone.
“But it’s so satisfying to get slapped in the face.” Diana’s innocent smile really stung Thor’s wounded heart. “Besides, it won’t leave any marks, and the bruises will disappear quickly.”
Thor gave up on discussing the matter with Diana and just stared blankly at the sky: "Father, let me go back to Asgard." The bruises on his face were rapidly fading as he spoke. After all, as a race that could be called gods, their self-healing ability was not bad, unless the injury was too severe, such as blindness or a severed hand.
Otherwise, it will usually return to its normal appearance quickly.
"So, what about that muscular guy?" Rhodes pointed to Hercules, who was still unconscious beside him. "We can't just let him stay here forever."
Tony then looked at Diana, since that hunky man was, in a strict sense, Diana's captive, and all matters concerning him should be Diana's responsibility.
“Bring back the Insightful Ones. Don’t forget, we were originally an organization built to deal with things like this.” Diana pointed to herself, then to Tony.
“But the Insight headquarters isn’t fully completed yet.” Although he knew that Diana’s suggestion was the best solution, the Insight building was still not fully completed; it was only a semi-finished product.
Diana simply looked at Tony indifferently.
“Okay, I understand.” Tony naturally knew where Diana was going to take Hercules.
After all, the first building constructed by the Insightful was not a large building, but a quiet room hidden outside New York City. Although it was called a quiet room, it was actually a prison-like thing, or a shelter.
It's a good place for those who still have value, after all, the alarm on this thing is directly linked to Diana's residence.
Moreover, there was a rather gruesome-looking defensive barrier set up by Diana in the quiet room.
But Tony was more curious about how Diana's hands turned gold. Those golden hands always made him feel like he could erase the planet beneath his feet at any moment.
"Wait, what are you talking about? I can understand each word individually, but when they're put together, I don't understand them at all." Rhodes looked at the two guys who seemed to be speaking in riddles, completely bewildered.
Thor, lying on the ground, was in no mood to listen to what they were saying. He just wanted to be quiet. After all, this was the first woman who had directly used her strength to pin him down and beat him. He needed to calm himself down.
Of course, this doesn't include the time when someone forced my head down when I first arrived...
Just when Diana thought everything was over, someone would always jump out and tell her that things weren't over yet.
"Diana, we need to talk."
Chapter 61 "Superman"?
“I don’t think we have anything to talk about.” Diana had already noticed this guy who seemed to have appeared out of nowhere.
This kind of elusive character, besides Nick Fury, really has no one else who would make an appearance in this way.
Nick Fury approached Diana, wanting to say something.
Then they saw Diana floating in the air, leaving Tony Stark with only the words "Don't let anyone take the big idiot away," before she flew away from Washington like a streak of light, except that there were sonic boom clouds around this streak of light.
"Why didn't you take that big idiot with you!" Tony shouted.
It's obvious that Diana, who had already flown away, couldn't hear it, and even if she did, she wouldn't come back.
Tony knew he was just wasting his time, but he would at least make an appearance.
Tony glanced at Nick Fury standing there and curled his lip.
"Looks like she doesn't want to go through any of those typical American TV drama scenarios with you." Tony was naturally happy to see this bald guy who had sneaked into someone else's house get his comeuppance, especially since this bald guy had even kept things left to him by his father.
The box clearly stated: Stark's Private Property.
“Stark, you have to trust S.H.I.E.L.D.” Seeing that he couldn’t speak directly with Diana, Nick Fury quickly changed the subject, after all, as long as he could achieve his goal.
"Hmm? I don't think there's anything trustworthy about the department that confiscated what my father left me." Tony's eyes seemed to hold a strong hostility.
There was nothing he could do. When this hard-boiled egg first appeared in front of him, it had entered his house through dishonest means, and then he had obtained an inheritance from them that he had no idea existed.
Even organizations that are unaware of being infiltrated by their own hostile forces...
It's simply impossible to trust an organization that has made Tony rethink his perception of secret service agencies.
