"We'd better be well prepared, lest we fall into their trap." Tony's impression of S.H.I.E.L.D. had been lukewarm ever since he learned that they had seized his father's belongings. Besides, he always felt that his parents' car accident might not have been an accident at all.
There's no reason, it's just a gut feeling.
Diana shook her head. Her attitude towards the S.H.I.E.L.D. guys was basically the same as Tony's. Although she knew it wasn't just because of that black egg, she still had a lingering sense of distrust.
After all, strictly speaking, no intelligence organization is a good choice for cooperation.
Who knows if they'll throw you out and shirk responsibility for something, turning you into a pariah.
Diana wasn't afraid of such things, but if these things involved her two little ones, she might not feel it was enough even if she plowed the whole world.
Little Wanda came running up, but seeing the wide-open study door, she didn't go any closer. She just called out to Diana from a distance.
"I'm hungry, Diana." Little Wanda could clearly see Diana holding Gugu and calling out to her with a smile.
"We'll discuss this after you bring the Tesseract," Diana said to Hill, then picked up Gugu and headed for the door. Her little witch's hunger was the most important thing; all this else could wait.
"Now, I'm going to cook. If you're free..."
Before Diana could finish speaking, Natasha interrupted, saying, "We have other things to do, so we won't disturb your meal." With that, she took the lead and went downstairs.
The remaining three members of S.H.I.E.L.D. then nodded to Diana and left.
"I just wanted to ask if they wanted to eat together." Diana placed Gugu in the little witch's arms and said, somewhat confused, "Why did they all leave?"
Tony came out of the study and said to Diana, "Perhaps they think you're telling them to get out."
But as he spoke, he kept tapping his phone repeatedly.
"What are you doing again?" Diana was also a little confused about what Tony was doing. After all, it wasn't uncommon for this guy to buy up tabloids that reported on his personal life.
Now I don't know what they're doing?
"Call Pepper over for dinner." Tony put away his phone when he heard Diana's words and smiled at the little witch holding the cat.
Diana had no objection to inviting people over for meals; to her, the only difference between cooking one meal and cooking many was the amount of ingredients used. Physical strength and other aspects posed no obstacle for her.
"You can have a free meal, but you prepare the ingredients," Diana said to Tony as she went downstairs to the kitchen.
Tony curled his lip: "You're insulting me." Tony had already discussed this issue with Pepper when they talked about coming to Diana's house for dinner.
Pepper has already ordered almost all the top-quality ingredients currently available in the United States.
As for food waste, Tony didn't care. Even though he was the kind of guy who could afford a five-dollar cheeseburger from the street, that didn't mean he had any particular thoughts about food waste.
Diana said that there is a super big eater in the family, and although the food may not be digested, at least it won't be thrown away.
“Call Banner over too. I feel sorry for him being with Thor and the others,” Diana said, turning back to say this.
"OK."
Tony patted his chest, assuring Diana that he would handle the matter perfectly, and then turned to call Banner.
Diana didn't care what Tony might do, and simply went downstairs.
As soon as I went downstairs, I saw Pietro looking utterly dejected. Even the game that should have been continuing was stuck on a results screen with a bright red "vegetable" icon flashing on it.
Logically speaking, given Pietro's reaction time, shouldn't he be able to easily master these kinds of games? How could he be so discouraged by this?
"Pietro, are you alright?" Diana approached Pietro and touched his forehead. "You don't have a fever."
Pietro glanced at Diana: "I think it was Stark who did this. I was just saying he was bad before." As he spoke, the white-haired boy sat up abruptly.
"That's right, it's Stark's fault!" The white-haired boy transformed into a streak of light and rushed upstairs; he was going to settle accounts with Stark.
How could he possibly get killed by a single minion at the start of the game hundreds of times in a row?
This unscientific!
Diana could only walk towards the kitchen with some reluctance.
The little witch followed Diana around happily, showing no intention of leaving. Even after Diana went into the kitchen, the little one sat on the small counter next to the kitchen, watching Diana's figure and petting the cat.
But Wanda's pleasant feeling was soon disturbed by another guy.
Carroll.
“This is the first time I’ve ever seen Diana cook.” Carol sat down next to little Wanda, propping her chin up with her hand and watching with some fascination as Diana, dressed in a beige sweater dress, tidied up the utensils in the kitchen.
Don't ask why Diana could go without an apron; with divine power, one can be so willful.
"Hmph..." Little Wanda didn't want to talk to this guy who was eyeing her Diana, but then she remembered that this was the first time he had seen Diana cook, and she had seen far more than Diana, so she couldn't help but feel a little proud.
But when she thought of Diana that morning, Wanda blushed and quickly ran to the bathroom to calm down.
Gugu lay on the bar counter enjoying Carol's caresses.
Meanwhile, Tony and Pietro came downstairs and headed towards the game console in the living room. Tony was clearly trying to prove to Pietro that his inability to beat the game was simply due to his lack of skill.
The great Tony Stark would never be like him!
Carroll couldn't help but smile.
"This feels pretty good, doesn't it?" Diana walked over to the bar at some point.
He spoke to Carol with a gentle smile.
Carol smiled and nodded. "Yes."
Chapter 107 A Pleasant Family Atmosphere
"Dong dong dong."
Someone is knocking on the door.
Pietro quite consciously got up to open the door, but using his ability, he didn't miss any opportunity to play the game.
“Hmm, I don’t remember you installing Stark smart home technology,” Pepper said jokingly from the doorway.
“That’s because I’m good.” Pietro heard the noise at the door and shouted loudly in the living room.
Pepper knew perfectly well whose credit it was, but that didn't stop her from teasing the cute kid. He was definitely easier to get along with than Tony.
“I’m not too late, am I?” Pepper moved closer to Diana and Carol, pretending to peek into the kitchen, which was devoid of any cooking fires. “I don’t want to miss a single dish.”
“Tony’s ingredients haven’t arrived yet, how could I possibly start cooking?” Diana gave Pepper a natural cheek kiss.
Watching Diana exchange cheek kisses with this woman she didn't even know, Carole still felt a little awkward, even though she knew it was just one of the ways two people express friendship.
"Shouldn't you introduce this beautiful lady to me?" Carol asked Diana somewhat awkwardly after they had exchanged a cheek kiss.
“Oh, this is Pepper Potts, Tony Stark’s personal assistant, and now the CEO of Stark Industries.” Diana said to Carol, then turned to Pepper and said, “Carol Danvers, you can call her Carol, she should be a full-time cosmic hero now.”
Pepper gave Carroll a bright smile and extended her hand: "Hello."
"Hello." One doesn't hit a smiling face, especially a beautiful one, so Carol naturally didn't try to intimidate her and simply shook hands with the woman calmly.
“Looks like I should go see Tony.” Pepper walked into the living room quite naturally.
Tony is showing Pietro through his actions that the game isn't difficult; it's just that Pietro is too bad at it.
However, only Pietro, who was constantly focused on the game screen and Tony's controller, failed to notice that the glasses Tony was wearing were currently flashing a strange blue light.
It's obvious that this guy with the mustache is cheating.
"But what about the ingredients?" Diana didn't see what Pepper brought up, nor did she see Happy, who had been driving Tony and Pepper.
"Happy is organizing people to bring the stuff upstairs." Pepper walked into the living room without looking back, sat on the sofa next to Tony, and watched the two kids, one big and one small, arguing.
“No problem.” Diana nodded, understanding that Pepper was Tony’s sweetheart and would never do such rough work.
Carole looked at Diana with suspicion, clearly having caught her cheating. Her face practically screamed, "You'd better clarify things now, or else..."
“She’s Tony’s woman.” Diana was somewhat exasperated with this guy who was now only capable of being jealous. What was this all about? “Besides, it was just a cheek kiss.”
"That's a cheek kiss!" Carol exclaimed excitedly.
Diana pressed her hands down: "It's okay, those two are already in a relationship. Besides, if Wanda hadn't come along today, you wouldn't know where your hands would have been touching."
"Okay." Carol shrugged, pretending she was just a little too nervous. She couldn't help it; when she held Diana today, she couldn't help but feel that Diana's bottom was sticking up again.
"Hmph." The little witch, who had somehow emerged from the bathroom, was back beside Carol. The little one seemed to know what had just happened, giving Carol a cryptic hum, then stopped sitting at the bar and, as before, clung to Diana's waist, following her around the kitchen.
Every now and then, the little guy would give the blonde woman sitting at the bar a look of enjoyment.
This really infuriated Carol, but Diana clearly still saw Wanda as a little girl, which made her very upset.
"I'm so glad the elevator here is big enough, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get up in one go." Just then, a slightly naive voice came from the door that hadn't been closed to begin with.
It was Happy, the one Pepper had left behind to prepare the ingredients.
But for everyone else, isn't the most important thing the food cart behind Happy?
“Welcome,” Diana said to Happy with a smile.
“But why do I feel like I’m not important at all?” Happy watched Diana walk towards him, but he never expected that Diana would just walk up to him, give him a glass of iced lemonade, and then head straight for the cart of ingredients.
“At least you still have a glass of lemonade,” Tony said to Happy without looking up.
When his friend and driver arrived, Tony only checked whether Happy had brought enough food.
There's no need for them to go through all that trouble.
"Okay." Happy also walked to the French windows in the living room and sat down.
It's like, "I'm lying here now, don't worry about me."
When Diana started bringing the ingredients into the kitchen, she couldn't help but marvel at Tony Stark's skill. He knew that most of the ingredients were pre-ordered, but he simply used his family's secret recipe of throwing money at the problem.
Having money really does allow you to do whatever you want.
At this point, the kitchen had become the best place in the house.
Especially for Wanda, who always followed Diana around, she basically took on the role of the restaurant's head chef, constantly offering her own critiques of what Diana made.
It's less about helping and more about wanting to eat something fresh out of the pot.
Diana always felt that Wanda's cooking skills might improve if she kept her in the kitchen with Wanda the key, but the first thing that would definitely change was little Wanda's weight.
"Diana, can I have another bite? That beef is really good," Little Wanda said, looking up at Diana with pleading eyes.
“Okay.” Diana used a fork to stick a piece of beef into little Wanda’s mouth.
"Be careful you don't turn into a chubby little girl, or Diana won't like you anymore," Carol threatened Wanda in a somewhat childish manner.
Wanda wasn't buying it at all, and just made a face at Carol: "Diana would never dislike me, I'm Diana's little darling."
